First Haul of the New Year!

Hello and welcome back! The New Year has arrived and that means new stuff! So, went to Walgreens had to get some stuff beauty related and did go to WalMart just for more food items since it is now cold in Florida and I have a new semester coming up Monday, that means I had to get a few things in case on the run. Let’s start with Walgreens since I went there first today!

Walgreens

New stuff this time around and it is all thanks to hearing about it on Nouveau Cheap, Dulce Candy’s New Year’s Tutorial, and Emily Noel, who does the Beauty Broadcast, and it is the new Wet N Wild products! Once I read G’s post about them I wanted them so much and was glad to find them finally at my Walgreens, even though in some areas they got them earlier than they’re supposed to but I was able to find them. Funny enough that they just got their boxes in of the new items and glad that the girl I know helped me out and told me that they have a good portion of it but don’t know where to put it yet since their section has all the regular items you see and the Furgy stuff you tend to see. At least I am glad I got these and they are:

Lip Balm Stains: I picked up two of these in the bright pink and the purply pink and they look exactly like the Cover Girl balm stains I got but a little smaller and cheaper. One thing I like these is that they are more moisturizing with the balm than the Cover Girl counterparts because they are made with a lot more moisturizing ingredients including mint, which makes it better! I hope these will become a fave along with you!

Lip Stain Gloss: Along with the lip stain balms, they also came out with lip glosses and are supposed to be like the stains but more liquidy. I remembered I tried out WNW’s lip glosses when I first tried out lip glosses six years ago and didn’t like how sticky they were and this time this gloss is a lot more smoother and is not sticky as the old ones. Not sure what happened to the old ones , if they got discontinued or something, but these are better and glide on pretty well. I think I went with the mauve or purple gloss from these glosses and may go back for more when I go on another WNW shopping trip!

Nail Polishes: WNW came out with new nail polishes and they happened to be a line of glitter coats called Mega Rocks, which come with mega glitter flakes and some do come with smaller ones, it is like the Scandalous nail polish I have from Revlon except it is just the glitter. I got two of these and they are Joinsation, which is a deep purple glitter, and Wildcat, which is a lilac glitter. It was a hard choice from these since they have colors I love like silver, black, red, teal, and so many others! I will go for more in the future!

Eye Shadows:  WNW also released eye shadows this new year and I didn’t find the new eight pan, even though I kind of lost interest since I heard that it has some fall out from Nouveau Cheap and Emily Noel’s reviews along with the new cream shadows, which I almost thought about getting, but Emily Noel did say those crease a lot even though I think I never experienced creasing with shadows despite having sensitive skin, I may reconsider on trying them out by getting one but I did get two new ones from their new five pan line. Not only these shadows have the usual brow, crease, lid, and definer shadows in one pan but also a base to go with it. I kind of think of them as the same way as the Revlon Primer Shadow pallets but the design of the shadows have the words engraved into them like their trios and eight pans, which is pretty helpful, while the Revlon ones show where each shadow goes in the eye and it has they have the primer shade and top coat next to each other. I do like WNW doing the words for each part since I am blind it is really easy knowing where to place the shadows, I only labeled mine with the names not like the different labels for each part on my eight pans but I get the idea where each  shadow goes where! The pallets I got are Tunnel Vision, which is a smoky pallet with gray, silver, black, dark gray, and white and I always love using smoky pallets and like how Emily Noel said in her review it does remind me of the Don’t Steel Your Thunder pallet from the three pallet but with two more shadows. The other pallet I got is one that Dulce Candy used in her New Year’s tutorial but a bit differently from the layout in her own way and that is the Floral Values pallet which features purples and pinks like the Petal Pusher pallet from the eight pan pallet line. I am going to be using this when I go out tomorrow with Gondras since I haven’t used any of my WNW pallets in a while and miss using them and I think it’s time to try another new thing.

I also picked up three other items and I picked up the growth coat from Sally Hansen since the bottle I used dried out but it lasted longer than both my Ultimate Shield and Double Duty tops and bases, I did pick up the green bottle which says that it grows your nails within one week. I can’t wait to try this coat out when I do my next manicure with one of the new nail polishes from E. L. F. I also had to pick up another one of the Clear Complexion Concealer in Light Medium since I am about to hit pan in the one I use now. I also decided to branch out in foundation territory by getting the cream based foundation from the same line in Warm. I didn’t get a beauty blender but will be getting one probably tomorrow, in the meantime will use one of the cotton rounds. I am thinking of using the treatment gel and then put the foundation, then the stick concealer, and the powder on top. I may try a setting powder soon.

WalMart was more of food stuff since I had to restock on hot cocoa since it is cold in Florida finally which it has been in the  70s and 80s from fall through Christmas until it cooled down for New Year’s, it was even cold at night when we hung out with friends! So, I picked up two Swiss Miss hot cocoas in Dark Chocolate Sensation since I love love love loooovvvee dark chocolate! Since I did get the special at Publix for Ghiradelli chocolates in the Dark Chocolate Peppermint squares and Dark Chocolate and Salted Caramel squares. Anyways, I also got the chocolate caramel one. I do tend to get Coldstone but the market near me doesn’t carry it which sucks and didn’t want to go all the way to University  to get it at Coldstone, plus these flavors made my ears perk up and got me curious! Plus, I can have it with milk, I know the directions say hot water  but it does say milk is optional and to me it tastes WAY better with milk! I also got more marshmallows since I am running low and it tastes better with actual marshmallows rather than the cocoa that comes with them. I also had to restock on Pop Tarts since I only have one more pack of peanut butter ones left and there are times I need to be on the run and need to have breakfast on the run and PopTarts  are the best thing. Better than Toaster Streudel since you have to toast them and that is not fun usually and you get more flavors with PopTarts.

Well, that is it for this haul! I am not sure if I will do a review on the E. L. F. nail polish I will be using or not next, I may do it anyways. Not sure if I will do any cosplay stuff since I won’t be going to MegaCon this year again due to other conventions. I am also waiting for stuff on Omni Expo to come! So, stay tuned!
