I know gross but I did bring it up to the doctor while I was getting my physical form for Daytona filled out and he gave me antibiotic eyedrops and been using those which my eyes are clearing up. Another thing, yes I am going back to Daytona for a pre-employment program at the blind center. Now to the important stuff! The hotel room discount is done and over, if you’re late on that, sorry! If you need a hotel room, the Double Tree near Universal is surrounded by others and you do have travel websites to help. If you’re staying there, your parking will be $10 each day, while anyone is not staying it will be $15 for self-parking,w hich goes the same with anyone who is staying, and $20 for alet.

Note about day passes, for anyone who has been to Mega, the day pass you have is for that day only. Example is if you bought a Friday pass it is for Friday. ant: Response to Grav3yard Girl’s Instagram Nightmares Video

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Today I decided to do something more as a response to a video I saw earlier this morning.

As you know I like to watch Bunny aka Grav3yard Gril on YouTube and this morning she did a rant video about how she had a bit of a situation on Instagram with with a caption she had made and it cuased people to get into arguments over it. She talked about how people are trolls and want to bring people down and not only that there are cyberbullies that exist out there and I know how she feels because I went through something similar in the past and did comment how I seen it with my fan fiction on FanFiction.Net. I decided to write a response about that on here because no matter where you go there will be people out there that make mean and cruel comments and time to time don’t know the rule of whatever you write on the net, whether it’s through a comment, a video, etc. it will be out there forever especially with the words you use. I even remembered saying the same thing to a commentor on my DMC Reunion Panel clip from Ranger Stop when they y rand about how I didn’t record the video horizontally with my IPad. If you go to the video you can see the comment that they made and I felt offended by it myself and I felt that my response to it was seen as rude by them when their original comment was rude. Did it bring me down? It kind of did but it didn’t mean that I would stop making videos even with my convention stuff to bring to you guys. I bet you’re wondering what about the fan fiction part of it?

Well, as you know I wrote a bunch of fan fictions after I lost my eyesight in 2008 and have come a long way. At first I was writing my fan fictions in the old paragraph style and people told me how to write it better and started doing it that way and it grew and started writing fics based on Tsubasa Chronicle, DNAngel, and even did my own take on Angelic Layer. As time went on, I did notice how people were commenting that they don’t like the writing and it even shown a lot on Fairy Tails: Fan Fiction Novel of the Dresden Files where I had so many comments saying they don’t like how I was writing it and how I didn’t make it like the original source material or even read anything of the original sources which is not true. I have read the Dresden Files more than once and even read two of the books while writing Fairy Tails and that was Blood Rites and Turn Coat. I haven’t read “Bombshells” a second time because I didn’t like the person reading the Dangerous Women story collection as much as the other recordings. Anyways, halfway through writing I decided to end it short since I couldn’t take it and when a fan stood up and commented by saying “I want to see the ending, don’t take what they say personally.” I took that to heart and jump started it and kept writing and even ignored one comment that cussed me out which I can’t block the guy since he was a guest commentor. I did put in my author’s commentary after that by saying “What you say on the internet will be there forever.” Which is true and I have taken that to heart and not only that as my response to those comments the sequel came to be and shows the reverse effects of Fairy Tail ending up in Chicago instead which the good thing I didn’t get any harsh comments. I am hoping that won’t happen as the story goes on.

My thoughts on this in the end is that a lot of people are expecting people that create content for the net whether being a blog like you see, a video, or even fan fiction expect that they have their expectations met. The thing is that I tend to take from an old Disney Channel move is “Never expect the unexpected” It means that you can’t always give people what they expect out of what you make and when it does happen then there will be disappointment time to time either in yourself or your audience. My advice is just go in with an open mind whether it’s subscribing to a makeup box or making video, just open minds exist.

What about bullies? Well, nowadays it seems like being a troll either in the real world or in the internet is a way of being “normal.” There is a major difference between criticism and making a jerk-sounding comment and that can be expressed with feelings in the real world but on the internet you can’t convey those emotions through text. As in, no one can’t see if you’re happy or angry or sad when writing it unless if they are sad about it as in “I’m sad that my cat ran away.” Then add emojis to convey that sadness. In other places people can take the message as the wrong way, I still remember how I used to be in a group on Facebook on my shared profile with Gondras and someone comes in and says “Naruto is an anime? I didn’t know.” It was supposed to convey sarcasm in a joking way but some of us couldn’t see that and it turned into a huge argument between the person and her boyfriend. Not only that it got two of the moderators involved which went into one huge mess and don’t want to go into too much detail. As said, feelings are hard to see and not only that there are people that are just plain mean and think they can be mean all over the place to be liked but not a lot of people like people that way. Bunny did make a point that not everyone will get along with each other and I respect that idea since I don’t get along with some people back in my college days and have seen it in my Daytona days as well. We are all human in one way shape or form and if we want to talk to someone we can and if we don’t then we don’t have to even if it’s hard to bottle it in. But bullying someone on the net whether it’s through Instagram or Facebook is something that is not tolerated in everyone’s books and it’s hard to get rid of, looking at it now it is kind of like high school on the internet which what if we were in a school on the net to make friends and we have a troll and they bring that person down. It is hard to get rid of those trolls whether through blocking because there will be new ones popping up. It’s hard to avoid and yes comments can be mean and they think it’s acceptable when it’s not, which those comments can really hurt and cause something serious.

I In conclusion, I see what Bunny is saying and now thinking why did we come to this idea that in order to be accepted in the internet world is to be mean when commenting on someone’s picture by slamming them down. In our world today, bullying has been a major part of our society and it gets transferred over to the internet and a lot of people have taken their lives because they couldn’t handle it, which is sad. To make the point, when we write in our blogs, post on Instagram, or even record for YouTube, we can’t always please people and fit their expectations when it comes to being creative, which means we should go into everything with open minds and just shrug what crap gets posted in the comments. Plus, trolls are everywhere and can’t stop them unless they realize what they did can be hurting.

Well, that’s my response on the video. You can find her video titled “Rant-Instagram Nightmares.” Which I love her Tea Vlog rants a lot since they are entertaining and informative since she has been bullied herself and have blossomed into an awesome YouTube personality and I admire that about her.

Well, there you go! Stay tuned for anything else I will bring!

Faves: January and February 2016

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! It’s that time again and it’s my first bi-monthly faves of 2016! January and February was pretty much new products and old product discoveries on top of it. I also have a few non-favorites, which I will start with that!

Not-So-Faves

L’Oreal Pro Matte Foundation in Sun Beige: Not sure if it’s Stay Matte or Pro Matte but it’s the foundation that comes in the tube and oh man…BIG MISTAKE! As you guys know and know the hard time to find the right skin shade for yourself with drugstore foundations and with me having Light Medium skin tone it’s hard in other lines. I wanted to try something new since I notice a tiny bit of breaking out on my skin and heard that this foundation was good for sensitive skin types and the girl trying to match me had a hard time matching me and finalized Sun Beige as a match and well…tried it and it turned me yellow! Yes, my skin turned yellow and it sucked! I had to pretty much SPD Emergency to get my Almay Clear Complexion foundation in warm because it matches my skin perfectly and told L’Oreal never again! I love the eye shadows and eyeliners, also illuminator since I have the gold one from that line but a no on the foundation! I know Cat Vondi has an amazing foundation but have to see what happens for job related stuff.

Shray Moisture Mask: This came in my BoxyCharm and well here is the thing… I used it and it felt good first and did moisturize my skin but it felt like I had slime on my skin. It’s like Nickelodeon made the mask with the slime they dump on people. Even though that would be an interesting spa day. Anyways, it left my skin feeling slimey and not sure if it was due to using the Smashbox Primer Oiul but noticed a few dry flakes come off. Sorry to say but this was not a favorite even though having a moisture mask for all skin types was a nice change for Boxy this month and good to try out one for once. I am thinking of sticking withmy beloved Lush masks because they are drier and I love the feel of them more.

Jersey Shore Cosmetics Hand and Lip Polish: This was an item in my Ipsy bag and that is the Hand and Lip polish by Jersey Shore Cosmetics. I love their brand don’t get me wrong but this was an item I didn’t like at all. It was very watery and the bad thing is that when squeezing it out I had a lot of product come out and left a small bit. As in, okay if you had an experience like this, I think the tube didn’t have a lot of product as in didn’t have a full sample size. I heard things like this with lip glosses that Ipsy gave out in the past from Star Lux and I saw why because I felt those samples ran out quickly. This one was the same case! I squeezed it and got all of it in one go due to the pressure and it is disappointing that when you get a sample it should last you a lot longer than it looks. For instance, my Urban Decay Perversion mascara lasted me a very long time, my Lord and Berry eyeliner in black last me from August of 2014 all the way throughlast January and that was a tiny pencil mind you. This tube, on the other hand, looked a bit bigger than a sample toothpaste tube and should have a lot of product to last me a while like the body butter samples and it didn’t because of how much it came out and was out by the day after I got my Glam Bag. Maybe I should mention this on their board despite how many complaints they get about the products someone gets and now people are complaining about sizes which this is a sample company, this is pretty much due to product amount.
Favorites:

Wet N Wild Glow Pallet in Cat Walk Pink: Now onto the favorites and starting with a fave from Wet N Wild, which is their newest illuminating pallet in Cat Walk Pink! I heard What Would Lizzie Do and Casey Holmes talk about these pallets and it is pretty much highlighter pallets that just came out and ran to Walgreens and found it! It pretty much has beige and pinks in this one and do love how it is nice on the skin. It is a very subtle highlighter which is perfect enough because I do like the idea of have a nice sheen on my cheek bones with my blush but not to the point of strobing like a disco ball. You can mix them together to make an interesting color effect on top of it. I know there are two other ones that are a light gold and a darker gold and may pick those up!

Wet N Wild Brush Cleaning Wipes: Another reason why I ran to Walgreens for and that is the brush cleaning wipes from Wet N Wild since I do love cleaning my brushes but don’t have the time to wait for them to dry time to time. I was glad to hear about these and found them at the location right down the street from where I live and love how they clean! It gets the makeup off fast, even with foundation brushes because those tend to get gunky the most depending on what you use. Plus it is in a nice travel size package to carry with in case if you’re on vacation or at a convention and need to clean your brushes quickly and effortlessly. Plus, once you finish cleaning they do dry quickly! Best for convention times because we do have to get there on time for events or interviews, which I should take these when I stay at Gondras’ during Omni coming up in a week! Holy crap, February is already gone!

Wet N Wild Foundation Brush: I know what you’re thinking, Wet N Wild makes brushes now? I thought the same thing and heard mixed reviews especially with the eye brushes on Nouveau Cheap a while back due to how they made limited edition sets to come out. I decided why not try one out and picked up the foundation brush and I love it! It is like a paint brush but feels really good when putting it on the face. It is also not that expensive and would say get this instead of the Revlon ones which I heard those aren’t as good and a bit pricey when you get good quality for $3 like with ELF with this brush. You do have to clean it a lot but it’s worth the price.

Royal and Langnickle Flat Definer and Crease Brushes from BoxyCharm Trio: I have to mention these because I love these two brushes! If you subscribed to BOxyCharm and got January’s box then you got the brush trio set that was limited edition from Royal and Langnickle! I was really excited about these because I love brushes and these work amazing! Not sure if you know that Royal and Langnickle is also a paint brush brand which their quality transferred into their makeup brushes and can see how they are like. I use the flat definer brush and the crease brush from these three! The last brush is more of a blending brush in my opinion since I am already using my Delium tools one from Ipsy, these two brushes from the trio help put shadow on very effectively. One good example is the five pan pallet from Wet N Wild with all the blues in it, I used the flat definer for my lid color and that helped the shadow to blend very well with the base. Heck, I even used it with the crease brush when I used my Full Exposure pallet from Smashbox this morning. I highly recommend this brand and if you subscribe to Ipsy or Boxy, you would probably get brushes from this brand Ipsy does have their Offers page with sets sometimes including this brand. I would say subscribe to either subscription if you’re curious to this brush brand or check out their website and pick up brushes from them either from their makeup or paint brush lines, you will see what I’m talking about. Very good brushes from this trio!

Jelly Pong Pong Illuminator: Even though I was talking about brushes after a highlighter but decided to add this one on the list and it’s by Jelly Pong Pong and it is their liquid illuminator. I know Boxy has been giving out a lot of highlighters but it is good to try new ones out and Jelly Pong Pong was a nice surprise since I did like their shadow and liner pencil and now their Fairy Curl Mascara from last month’s Ipsy. It blends very nicely and it smells amazing! Plus, you don’t get too much if you squeeze too hard, which is a major upset if you get anything like that. I hope to try more illuminators from this brand if Ipsy or BoxyCharm gets them as products to give out.

Smashbox Primer Oil: You know I have to talk about this one at some point and that is the Smashbox Primer Oil from my Ipsy bag as well! This is an oil that can be used day and night to help prep the skin for makeup application and I like how it moisturizes my skin like it said. I know the next product as a fave got me on the bandwagon but this one helps supplement that and keeps my skin from being dry. Will I buy a full size? Maybe! It’s still a good product and glad to try it out before getting a full size, which people have complained on not getting full size items on Ipsy but to me it gives a better idea if I were to get the full size item and not waste the money if I don’t like it.

Nivea Post Shave Balm: Yes, I finally broke down and picked up the Nivea Men’s Post Shave Balm! As you all know, Nicki Tutorials always raved about this stuff being the best face primer of all time due to its glycerine content. I was a bit iffie at first because of how much my skin is picky due to sensitivity and well this is meant for sensitive skin when it comes to men and then my buddy Vivi tried it out and she said she loved it as well. So, the Curious Kitty in me had to do it and I see why it’s a big thing to have! My foundation and concealers go on better with this product which with the Rimmel primer it doesn’t glide when I put my foundation on which I put the foundation on and it stops at the chin midway when I go from forehead to the sides and then chin. This stuff does it easily and it doesn’t stop midway either when I do the forehead, sides, chin thing and when I add to the cheeks it glides smoothly and blends even more with less effort. I don’t know how Nivea made this product but they know how to do it and my makeup does stay well for the entire day like everyone says it does. Plus, you get a pretty good size for around $ to $ which is the price you pay for the Rimmel foundation primers and same with ELF’s. Way to go guys! Also, I do Nivea makes a makeup primer but I heard it’s not as good as this!

Mac’s Pet Me Please: Now mentioning a Mac lipstick I had for a long time and that is the Pet Me Please lipstick from their Alluring Aquatics line from 2014 if I remembered. This was a very hard to find color since it sold out everywhere and then I found it on EBay and picked it up despite it being ten bucks more than a regular Mac lipstick. I loved how it was shimmery fushia color and do like the wear on it. The good news is that I am done with it due to having it for a while and didn’t want to go to waste and will be doing the “Back to Mac” program thing and I did finish Honey Honey from the Lip Glass line. Not sure if I will pick up another Honey Honey, I am going to debate it.

Mac’s Warm Soul BlushK I finally got my paws on another Mac blush and that is Warm Soul! I heard good things about this one alongside Rosy Outlook on top of it and had a hard time choosing between the two. Rosy colors do look good on me and Rosy Outlook was a peachy rosy shade while Warm Soul was a warm peach blush with some shimmer. I decided on Warm Soul and go back for Rosy Outlook whenever I walk into Mac again even though I have other items on my mind to get from them. I do like how it feels and how I don’t have to go and wear a highlighter since it does have a nice shimmer to it. It even blends amazing on the cheeks. I still have Dainty and Gleeful in my big makeup case and do reach for them sometimes as well. You know these will be in my Back to Mac bag.

Milani Romantic Rose Blush: Another rediscovery in my collection is of course the Romantic Rose blush from Milani’s rose blush line. I loved this blush because of how it is the perfect rose color! It does have shimmer and it is slight shimmer and what is great about this one besides how well it blends is that it is good paired with the Rose Gold highlight from the Furgy line that Wet N Wild has for many years. I used those two on Valentine’s Day and a belated Valentine’s date with Gondras since he had to work that day. It worked out well!

Coastal Sense Revealed Smoky Pallet: Final makeup product is the Coastal Sense Revealed Smoky pallet. I know a lot of people had problems with this ppallet but I didn’t. I think it’s due to what primers that people use and the fall out but with me it’s not much of a problem. I also like the Naked Smoky pallet from Urban Decay and did a video on both of them but what I like most about the Revealed Smoky is that I get to have many choices of colors to play around with and blend in. The day before I did the video I used the pallet and knew how comfortable it is on my eyes. I do have the other three Revealed pallets and to me this one is the fave out of the four. If you haven’t seen that video, you should go back and do so or just go to our YouTube channel which is the same spelling here.

Fave Movie: Dead Pool! I had to mention this and that is the Dead Pool movie being my favorite this bi-monthly faves. All I have to say about it is that Fox did a very good job on this film! They kept the R-rating and even had descriptive audio for me which was handy! Because of course there is non-verbal communication in this movie even with his mask! Also, Ryan Reynolds did an amazing job playing Dead Pool and I liked him along with Nolen North being the voice. Too bad the movie didn’t have the inner voices like the game and comics had which would’ve been funnier. If you played the game, you would know what I’m talking about! He did break the fourth wall as it supposed to be. Whenever the next one comes out, I hope it will be even funnier!

Fave Book: Lilac Girls! If you guys know that I am part of Net Gally which lets me read books before they’re out and review them on their website which is very awesome to do. One book I read was called Lilac Girls and it tells stories from three different women’s point of views while living in World War II. This was based on the events that took place at a women’s camp in a city called Ravensbrook and the events that took place afterwards when the war ended, which some of the prisoners were operated on and got infections and came to America to get treatments. It was sad reading the book but at the same time it tells a story that I never heard of while learning about the second world war during high school and college. If you’re into historical fiction, I recommend reading this book when it comes out because it is touching and sad at the same time.

Well that is it for this post! I can’t believe February is about to end and that means Omni Expo is right around the corner! I am so excited and still waiting on confirmation about one of the interviews which is Brian Beacock, which I should’ve mentioned as a favorite Twitter moment on here but he did reply to our tweet about hoping to interview him and he wants to do it! That is a good sign that one of the convention guests wants to be interviewed by you and I was speechless and happy about it when I got the reply.

Well, fingers crossed and I was thinking for another post I would do something on re-purposing makeup bags. Another thing about Ipsy is having makeup bags from them or anyone that has a makeup counter and they do take up space but they can store things more than makeup and will be writing about that. Stay tuned!

Rant: Why the Internet Media is Important for Convention Scenes

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Today, I kind of have a rant and well it deals with internet media, especially with conventions who want people as guests and press!

The internet has been growing for many years! I still remembered how it started off as dial-up and now we have cable, sattleite, and wi-fi internet and it gets used everyday! Whether it’s for checking email, the stocks for the day, or even downloading music. There is one spot in the internet that a lot of people to use and that is for creating content and uploading it for the public to enjoy, which includes videos, fan fiction, and even blogs like you see right now. Like many books and movies, there are many genres of this material and that includes anime, beauty, cosplay, gaming, etc. There is even podcasts on these many topics and a lot of people enjoy watching or hearing about this stuff.

I bet you’re wondering, where do conventions come into play? Well, there are times when a lot of cons every year ask for people to do press or ask for internet people to be guests while others not so much. Last year, as you know that not only we got turned down for press by AFO but I did suggest them to have Bennet the Sage as a guest. Why? Because he fits in and does make good points when it comes to anime and we seen him at MythiCon and he was very entertaining. Someone put a comment saying that internet reviewers aren’t as important to show up. Here’s the thing though, a lot of internet reviewers do have a lot of popularity nowadays as voice actors. They bring entertainment and people enjoy what they have to say about a particular thing and when they get invited to conventions they get to meet their fans and bring their material live for them to enjoy even more. For instance, MythiCon had Little Kuriboh and Linkara for their first year and I think I laughed to the point of needing oxygen by the end of the weekend, especially Little Kuriboh’s Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged panel. Then the following year, not only they were brought back but added Bennet the Sage from Anime Abandoned and the funny was turned up even higher! I highly recommend the Bennet Q&A panel from that Friday during MythiCon 2014. We not only got to see the Abridged panel from Little Kuriboh and Linkara’s Atop the Fourth Wall Live but Bennet’s Anime Abandoned Uncut panel. Plus, what else they brought was a panel about how to start your own channel or blog and that made it more interesting because of people may want to start their own stuff like how we’ve been doing for years, we did ask about camera work which their tips did give us ideas along with Mike McFarland’s ideas. Still, having these kinds of people do help in giving tips to their fans, doing panels, and many other things. Heck, we even overheard Nate Wants to Battle do a panel giving advice on how to do chiptunes at last year’s Omni. Whatever it is, they do bring good things to the convention scene and they should get more recognition and of course more people to se them, which most conventions do enjoy the amount of people they bring in.

What about press? Well, as someone who has been doing it from 2013 to now, press is one major importance with the internet media because a lot of people have been making YouTube channels, blogs, and even podcasts about conventions, cosplay, and what makes us unique, adding beauty due to makeup purposes for cosplay. Like many conventions, press does get asked for because there are times when a new one comes up in the convention scene or new guests get added, press comes in handy because we do a lot more for the convention we cover. As in, we cover events, review the convention, and my fave part, interview the guests to take a look into their work and background and possibly get some advice if they want to get into the different industries. There are even times when we do get into some VIP events depending on the convention to talk about, such as Troy Baker’s acoustic set during MetroCon 2014! Plus, with all this stuff, it is pretty much beyond what a normal newspaper does because they tend to be limited to write one article on one event, such as the Orlando Sentinel writing about the cosplay contest at AFO last year. Press does go a long way when it comes to spreading the word about the convention too, if you seen all the Convention Spotlights in the past, you know how much I try to get the word out, even with Omni in its first year of being a new convention in Orlando. Without press, where would the publicity end up? So, press is one major importance and it does help business more since of course it is a major business to run a convention.

In the end, internet media is very important to the convention scene the internet stars that get invited do bring a lot of entertainment like the voice actors. They even help with giving advice in starting a YouTube Channel and blog if someone wants to do itm heck, I even remembered doing a fan fiction tips panel for example. And onto the idea of press, a convention is a business and publicity helps that business grow in having the word spread. With the videos and posts, this gives people ideas of wanting attend the next one if it happens again, not only that we do use social media to say “Hey! Check this thing out!” since there are a lot of people on social media these days! We also tend to cover a lot more than a lot of major newspapers don’t due to how limited an event can be written about due to how daily headlines have to be up front. Another thing is we also interview some of the tuests that come to these things so that our readers or viewers can learn about what they did in their career. There are many things that internet media brings to the table and like many businesses, it is also a business in itself with how we work with the convention scene to keep coming as either guests or as press.

That’s about it for this rant, comment below if you want to add your two cents to this because I like to see what you think. Not only that, if you know anything else that I should talk about here that is important just comment it.

What is next? Well, I have my January and February Faves coming up next! Stay tuned!

BoxyCharm and Ipsy: February 2016

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Today I got my BoxyCharm and Ipsy in the mail! Yay! First time in forever to get both on the same day since I tend to get one before the other or after, which is kind of annoying. I do have a funny story with Ipsy which I will get into now!

Ipsy: This month’s theme is “Pretty in #Ipsy Pink!” which fits the Valentine’s Day theme. I noticed since I’ve been with Ipsy since 2014 that they do a love type theme for December when they should really hold it for February where Valentine’s Day is a big deal. Anyways, this month’s bag is a very nice looking one that takes on a textured form and then pink on the back, the textured side is a love letter and Vivi put it best that it looks pixelated and I agree. I feel like I got a letter from a Delibird in Pokemon.

And also, since I mentioned it, if you seen Vivi’s Ipsy video, which I suggest you should, hers ended up in Jacksonville instead of her place and that is up north near the Georgia borderline and no I am not singing “Cruise.” Anyways, mine on the other hand was in North Carolina for four or five days once the shipping has begun for my bag. Seriously DHL? To me, Ipsy should switch to FedEx Smart Post because it gets to everyone a bit easier despite being a bit late when at the same time tracking is faster. Now onto what I got this month, which I feel some stuff is hooray while one item is meh!

Luxie Beauty 221 Flat Definer Brush: Yay! Another brush! This time it’s from Luxie again and I have received the all over blush brush and a concealer brush, which that one was BoxyCharm, and now a nice eye brush from them. I like the quality of Luxie’s brushes and I want to get a set from them, I know there is one on Ipsy Offers right now but can’t get due to being a tad broke on the payment side, so at least I can wait for another chance to get a set from them with Ipsy in the future. This brush will be used to define the brow bone because it is one of those brushes meant for that and small enough to do so. I hope to get more brushes from these guys through both Boxy and Ipsy, wishing they sent me something so I can review doubt thtat would happen. Still loving Luxie!

Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer Oil: Next is another item by Smashbox Cosmetics! I started loving this company all thanks to Ipsy of course and I have gotten the Photo Finish Face Primer before and the mascara as well, now a newer item by them and that is the Primer Oil. As you know so far they have the regular primer, primer water, and this one which is interesting. I am interested in using this since it is said it will give moisture within four weeks by what I heard from people that got this and can be used day and night to help the complexion be makeup ready. I know I have sensitive skin and do love my Rimmel Stay Matte Primer and now getting into the use of the Nivea Post Shave Balm that everyone is using on Youtube, this will be interesting to see what happens.

Paula Dorf Baby Eyes Enhancer: I wanted to trade this so badly! It is a pencil enhancer that looks like an eye liner almost but it has Vitamin E in it. I am not sure if I want to use it since no one has responded, well one person has and didn’t respond to my Facebook messages. I wished Ipsy gave me the Mary-luminizer instead since I wanted to try that one forever and never gotten it in the bag last time. I did retake the quiz and marked “Blushes and Bronzers” since that counts for cheek products and I think I only got one blush out of the entire time. Not sure if I will use this under my eyes like the Mana Kadar pencil I got a year ago. Still, wished I got something better.

Jersey Shore Anti-Aging Hand and Lip Polish: Next is anopther product by Jersey Shore! I tried this brand all thanks to Ipsy in my very first bag when they gave out the Magongo lip balm and they did have them for points perks and traded for the Pumpkin Spice and Apple Crisp ones and used those up like crazy. I hope they have those again sometime this year in the points shop. This on the other hand is their Vanilla Bean Anti-Aging Hand and Lip Polish. I was kind of on the fence at first because I don’t use anti-aging related products despite everyone saying you should by the late twenties except I still look young and my skin is sensitive to a lot of things. Anyways, hand creams are a must with me since I do read braille and my hands do get dry at the fingertips, cuticles due to using Vaseline while painting my nails every week, and on my palms due to soap and sanitizers. Plus I wear a lot of lip products on my lips and not sure if I will use it there. I did smell it and it does smell like vanilla bean! If you haven’t tried out Jersey Shore, I highly recommend these guys because they are all natural ingredients, plus their lip balms are awesome!

Jor’el Parker EAU So Divine Roller Ball: The final item is by Jor’el Parker and it’s their Eau So Divine Roller Ball! I was really happy to get another one of these by this brand because I am a fan of Harvey Prince, since the company is under the same umbrella, and loved the Hello! Scent, one other one I got from Boxy which I don’t know off the top of my head, and the one from this one in my bag by Jor’el as well. I was afraid it was the same scent but it’s not! Very different! The notes are sandalwood, lily of the valley, Egyptian Mur, and Madgascar Vanilla. I loved the scent of Bath and Body Works’ Madgascar Vanilla Body Butter, which I need to use more often, and man that brings me back with this perfume. I did see that they gave out the ever-so-[p[I;ar Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Roller Ball and wanted to trade the Baby Eyes Enhancer for that as well and don’t think anyone has gotten it, well did see one video of one person getting that and the Mary-luminizer. I smelled Nirvana Black and got a sample at Sephora and fell in love with it, but hey at least this one also smells amazing! Ipsy, need to keep giving out more of this brand including doing Ipsy Offers because I don’t mind buying whatever you offer from this brand in the next few months or so!

That is it for this Ipsy bag, I would say, the selection was okay and glad to try out the newer Smashbox item, the perfume, the Hand and Lip Polish, and of course the brush! I hope with retaking the quiz it will help get a bit better. Plus my reviews. Now onto Boxy!

BoxyCharm: This months’s box is better than last February’s box! How so? Well, this month’s themeis “Rush to Relax” and it fits since around Valentine’s Day a place known as Massage Envy adverises gift cards as Valentine’s Day gifts, Mother’s Day ones, and so on and a lot of people do like relaxing, especially in February. This box does have two makeup items and the rest are spa related.

Spongelle You Have My Heart on a String Buffer and Polish: When I heard that this month’s box was having this I wanted to arrive right away because it’s by Spongelle and it’s known as the You Got My Heart on a String All-In-One Buffer and Polish! I heard about these and they are sponges with body wash in them and you wet it and squeeze and the shower gel lathers up. Sure beats using a bottle of shower gel especially when this keeps you with fourteen washes! Plus, not only you have the smooth side to laterher with but you do have the texture side to expoliate your skin. I can’t wait to finish the bottle of Snow Fairy I have in the shower now and use this. It also has a Peony scent which I can’t wait to smell! What was interesting, some people complained about getting this sponge when it is supposed to be makeup. I remembered how I complained about the blotting papers not fitting with December and there were also complaints about those and yet with my complaint people got on my case about it due to being a new product to try, this sponge thing is a great thing to try out and it fits with the theme due to how people relax in the shower. I also don’t see anyone complain about the next item…

Shray Miss Amazing Sensitive Sheet Mask: As I wrote this post I was trying this out and it’s a sheet mask by Shray Cosmetics! I never heard of these guys until they made a BoxyCharm exclusive sheet mask to help moisturize the skin and it is sensitive skin friendly! I have been having dry skin for a bit due to how weird the weather’s been in Florida, it has been rain, sun, cold, warm, and repeat! What are my thoughts? Even though it felt a bit slimey since it is my first time using a sheet mask, I feel my skin sucking in the hydrating gel right about now. Good thing is that you don’t have to wash your face afterwards. I am not sure if I will get this with my charms but I still enjoy my Lush face masks since those are easy to handle and I just massage in the mask and let it dry. I am glad on the card when they talked about the product that they mention everyone has different skin and that has been the thing that I told so many people on the Ipsy board! Finally a brand that understands skin and says the same ideas.

Ofra Banana Powder: Another item from Ofra and this time is a product I’m willing to test out and that is their banana powder. I hear so many things about banana powders all over YouTube. Anastasia has one in her contour kits, Ben Nye sells one on its own, and so many other people make one. I heard Kathleen Lights talking about how amazing this item is and willing to see how it goes because I never tried it and I do wear my Cover Girl Invisible Lift concealer under the eyes and should be using a powder to set it and willing to see how well it works. I wished they sent the full size version rather than a refill size but at the same time it gives you a nice peek at what they got and say, “Love it? Get the actual size!” Which I might do and the fulls size is not that much, it is around $15 from what I seen.

Bella Pierre Blush and Highlighter Duo Stick: This got me excited
Beauty for Real Blush and Highlighter Stick: Nowadays with 2016 starting, a lot of beauty companies have been doing blush and highlighter duos and this month Beauty For Real gave it to us Charmers! This is a blush and highlighting duo stick which provides anti-aging…hold on, I know I am not into using anti-aging products early but I love blush and highlighters and like most people would say, I will try it anyways because I have hardly tried any Beauty For Real blushes. It supposes to blend pretty well and you can use the highlighter side on other parts of the body. I do like the smell as well and it is very sweet. I have to try this out and see how I feel about it just as a makeup product.

Freeze 24 7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum: I gave this to my mom since I don’t use eye serums. I will see how she likes it since she did like the Pur~Lisse Blue Lotus Eye Serum from Ipsy and the full size version from Boxy.

Real Tree For Her Perfume: Final product and yes there were six items this time, the Real Tree For Her Perfume! I am so glad that I got perfumes in these subscriptions because I can carry them and I don’t carry a big bottle with me when I do the conventions around town if we have to stay at a hotel or drive back and forth while staying at Gondras’ place, this does save on travel. This one is a floral and pomgranite scent which kind of brings me back to when Bonne Belle made Bottled Emotions back in the late ‘90s, which I miss by the way! I will be putting this in my bag to travel with.

That is it for this post! I feel like Boxy is finally stepping up because this month’s box and last monht’s were way better than last JHanuary’s and February’s boxes. I even forgot what I got last February until I watched videos and remembered that it was not that great in my opinion even with the Mistura C2P Concealer Stick which broke when it got to me and the person I traded with was surprised and had to explain it came like that and this month this year had more relaxing products for spa days, which a lot of us that work a 9 to 5 job need that day to day. Ipsy, I think they need to step it up a bit with some of their profile matching. I understand it’s a sample service and they cater to what you like on the guidelines of what you answer with but this bag was good except for one item. I am happy to try out something new by Smashbox and hope they get more by them because they are a good company and if I were to become famous, I would love to collab with them. Anyways, glad to get another Luxie brush because I love getting brushes and a major addict when it comes to them. The hand polish from Jersey Shore was a nice return and will use it on my hands due to how dry they get. Plus, trying something new from Jor’el Parker is awesome! Not only that, getting another perfume in Boxy also was worth it! All in all, very good month for Boxy and Ipsy needs to match my profile a bit more and since I retaken the quiz, hoping it starts getting better.

Note: About the moisture mask, I found some flakes on my face, not sure if it was after using the mask or trying out the primer oil, I had to use my toner from Clean & Clear to get them off and get the stickiness from the mask. I am definitely sticking to my Lush mask since those are drier and I like the feeling a lot more with those.

What’s next on Nerdy Shique Universe? Since we are going to be doing press again this year at Omni, I thought it’s time to do a post about how internet related media is not as important to some conventions. After what happened with AFO last year, I feel as though that blogs, reviewers, and so on aren’t getting that much recognition as much they should. I am also doing a last minute convention spotlight on Omni before March begins, oh yeah, can’t forget my Faves of January and February which it’s that time again to do my bi-monthly faves! Stay tuned!

Review: RWBY!

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! It’s time for another review and this time it’s on a series that has been on the web for a while and it’s known as RWBY.

I know I a bit behind on the bandwagon but hearing about this series from friends and Gondras since he started watching it, I really liked it! I decided to do a review due to how last night was the last episode of Volume 3! What I thought about it? HOLY SH*T! IT WAS AWESOME!

If anyone hasn’t seen it, it’s made by Rooster Teeth and it follows Ruby Rose who transfers into Beacon after fighting off a group of bandits that tried to break in her uncle’s shop one night. The headmaster at Beacon sees her and tells her that he wants her to attend his school to finish her training to become a Huntress along with many other students including her older half-sister, Yang, to become Hunters and Huntresses to fight creatures within a everlasting peace. But the peace gets broken and something dark looms over Veil and the many other kingdoms and Ruby is now handed over the responsibility to save the many after last night’s episode.

I am hoping that there is a Volume 4 because knowing like many people who have seen it are wondering, will they find Blake and take out the White Fang who brought this on? Will they save Beacon Academy after the tower was destroyed? Will the Grimm, creatures they fight, be under control? Plus, who is the mysterious figure that wants to end the peace and take out the Headmaster’s work in the end? What is this special ability that people with silver eyes like Ruby have according to her uncle, Crow? I hope those get answered because I want to see more of the story to know what happens next! All in all, the series has a good story plot and amazing characters and fight scenes. I can see why this series has become popular as it had, heck we even seen a few cosplayers at Holiday Matsuri and I think we have one of them in our Cosplay Gallery from that, if you haven’t seen it I suggest to check out what we taken pics of. I also did hear one of the judges during the costume contest cosplayed as Yang. Let me move on!

Music: OMG! Where should I start? As you know I love metal, alternative, and some pop and a bit of punk and a few instrumental tracks with anime and gaming music in the mix. The soundtrack that I admire the most is of course Fairy Tail’s soundtrack due to how it took River Dance music and added metal to it to make it more modern. RWBY did just that! You get the piano and some violin but then it kicks it up a notch with the guitars and lyrics! My favorite song from the entire series would have to be Volume One’s Theme song”This Will Be the Day” which is the song you hear Ruby listening to in the first episode. The music knew how to make the battles escalate, even during the Festival parts in Volume Three, and even was very touchy for the sentimental moments, even with Pira and Jean. It is one amazing roller coaster with their sound. I wish I can listen to more of the soundtracks but I have to sign up for Apple Music in order to do that. What really got me to watching RWBY was that one of the songs came up on the Eyeshine radio and of course curious kitty was curious.Still, an amazing set of scores and theme songs!

Characters: RWBY had a vwide variety of characters that you tend to see in action stuff such as Jean Arc, the cowardly and sentimental guy to Yang the brawler who wants to connect to her friends and also punch them if she gets pissed at them. Nora the ditzy, girly girl, and of course Ruby Rose, the main heroine, who is just a kid that is new to a school that she doesn’t understand and jumps into fights without a plan at times but does have her partner, Weiss, to help out. She also is pretty good at tactics since she did follow someone in Volume Two due to suspicions and that later on doesn’t understand why things are starting to unravel as time goes on and that is well suited for a younger protagonist. One character I do like a lot due to one feature and that is Blake Felladonna! It is not just the kitty ears she has to hide but she has the dark story that we’re looking for! Of course I do like Sasuke Uchiha but Blake has a better story and that dealt with how much it deals with the White Fang. I do like how Yang and her work together , even at the end of Volume Three when crap really goes crazy! I am hoping Volume Four shows what happens next for her because she was starting to develop more as Volume Two happened and more of her past gets revealed in the last few episodes of Three. Yes, I would cosplay as her but knowing the weapon would be hard to make if Gondras wants to do the transforming parts.

Another character I did like was Pira because like Ruby she does have the times where she investigates to get her answers. Plus, she has an awesome power with magnetic forces in the series. Not only that, I do like how she and Jean work together in Team Juniper and she did understand him while training him by knowing that he can do it as a strong fighter and has to make him work more. Plus, I do like how she doesn’t want a guy to like her because of her being famous and smart, just getting to know her. I know the feeling Pira, I had that happen back in my junior year of high school.

Another thing I like about the characters is the voice acting! When I watch a cartoon or anime I tend to know the actors that play the parts like Josh Grelle as Kenichi in Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple and Trina Nishimura as Mikasa in Attack On Titan, here nope! I went in with an open mind and what I liked is how each actor and actress played their part perfectly! I mean the attitudes, personalities, and emotions were spot on! Rooster Teeth, you did this series justice with all you picked, even Vic Mignogna as Crow was a perfect pick since he had to play a drunkard who thinks he failed at what he needed to do and be mysterious at times. I do admit at first I did have a hard time telling Weiss, Blake, and Yang’s voices apart but as the series went on it was easier to tell. Still, an amazing cast, if only most dubbing studios took lessons from Rooster Teeth with how they dub because this was perfect.

Rating: 5 Paw Prints out of 5 + PAWPRINT OF APPROVAL! Yes, it gets a five out of five paw prints because it is a series that really wanting me to keep watching even if they are close to twenty minutes an episode! I really want to see another season for this series because knowing a lot of fans want to know what will happen next? I am too! I hope to see some panels on this series, if people do them right because we have seen one panel in the past that was bad and don’t want that to happen since this series is amazing! Why the Approval Pawprint? Because it deserves it major props for the music and characters, plus the cast they got, I can see why people love it and can’t help seeing how much work they put into it. Please a Volume Four!

Well, that is it for this review! I am still waiting on my Ipsy and BoxyCharm to arrive in the mail! I will also do a last minute check for Omni Expo before the convention since it is around the corner! I am waiting on news about interviews because I definitely want one on one’s with the Dino Thunder Rangers, RJ Heady, and Brian Beacock, which I tweeted about and he said he wants to do it! (Trust me, I was speechless when I saw that reply!) Til next time!

Urban Decay Naked Smoky vs. Coastal Sense Revealed Smoky: Comparing the Two!

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Finally got the video up and it deals with comparing the Urban Decay Naked Smoky pallet and Coastal Sense Revealed Smoky pallet.

Why? Well, we tend to have make up preferences in our shopping and since I got the Naked Smoky for Christmas and the Revealed Smoky in January’s BoxyCharm, why not do a video about them and see what I think, what I prefer. I think idid mention this or not, with the Coastal Sense is that you get more color selection while Naked Smoky you just have twelve as a reminder.

Enjoy! Hoping to get my BoxyCharm and Ipsy soon for this month and can’t wait for Omni Expo 2016! Which by the way, anyone going, we have updated our business cards so if you get one this year you will get the gmail address for Nerdy Shique Universe, our Twitter, and Channel name! If anyone wants to know where we got these printed, Staples and they do awesome same day printing and they have a promotion right now where you get 500 for $10.

That is about it! Til next time!
