Universe Renegade Power MakeUp! ::Screwdriver glows dark blue and changes me into a sailor scout with dark blue accents and star jewels near blue ears:: I am the one who fights for love and nerd-kind alike! In the name of the Nerd Universe, I write reviews and interview awesome stars and punish trolls and that means you!

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Another surprise for you all and it is another awesome interview with another Sailor Scout and that is Linda Ballamtyne who will be at MegaCon 2017 in Orlando! Like Kate, she will be appearing for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and I had the pleasure to ask her a few questions! I hope you all enjoy what she has to say and hoping you guys crack up as much as I did since it was an enjoyable read. I am also including her thank you note at the bottom because she put it at the end and I don’t have the heart crystal to delete it because it was so sweet and make sure you check her out and follow her on social media too!
Q1: Yo0u will be at MegaCon this year, how does it feel to be at a convention in the Sunshine State?
Are you kidding?!!??! I’m from Canada! It’s always awesome to go to Florida. That’s our home away from home in the winter. That said, it’ll be the summer when Megacon is on and everyone keeps warning us of how warm it will be. We (Katie Griffin/Sailor Mars) and I say BRING IT!!!!
Q2: How does it feel to meet long time fans of Sailor Moon?
I love meeting all the fans of Sailor Moon. The stories they have of why Sailor Moon is so important to them or how it changed their lives are always amazing. They usually start with a 30 year-old saying, “You don’t understand, you were my childhood!”. And I say, “But how can that be? Aren’t we the same age?” LOL! But the truth of the matter is, while I may have been important to them when they were growing up, they were equally as important to me back when I recorded the show. They were there watching the show and supporting me when I was just starting out my career. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. Our friendship actually spans two decades. So if we seem like immediate besties at a comic con when we meet, that’s because we’ve known each other for a very long time… we just haven’t met in person until that very moment. It’s pretty huge for both of us.
Q3: What has been your favorite fan experience from any of the other conventions you have been to?
Oh man, there are sooooo many! From the first fan I met who simply said “Sailor Moon. Now I’ve met two of you” (apparently she had met Terry Hawkes before me) and then she just smiled and walked away, to the woman who dropped to her knees sobbing, to the ones who are now voice actors themselves and were inspired by me when they were young, to the babies who don’t even know they are fans yet but their mothers or fathers are dressed as Sailor Moon. I love them all!!!! Don’t you dare make me pick a favourite… Or I shall punish you in the name of the Moon!!!!
Q4: Since there were other voice actresses who have played the role of Sailor Moon, how did you become one of the voices?
Like most roles, I had to audition for the part of Sailor Moon. That’s what it is to be an actor. You audition a lot– pretty much everyday. And you don’t always get the roles you want. But you go out every time and do your absolute best. Because if you don’t do your best, if you’re not prepared, you simply won’t get the part. It can be a lot of heartache. Every role I audition for I want. But I certainly don’t get every part. I’ve been really lucky in my career. I’ve worked a lot. But I’ve also heard the word “No” more times than I care to remember. Sailor Moon was one of the ones I hold on to and remember how sweet it felt to hear the word “Yes”.
Q5. What has been your favorite episode as Sailor Moon?
I loved recording the whole ending of Sailor Moon S. That was intense. I and I really loved the story line. Getting to dig down deep and feel the raw emotions of what she was going through was amazing.
I also loved when Serena was “drunk” on “juice”. That was a total blast! It was just silly fun and we laughed a lot while recording it.
Q6: If you were one of the other Sailor Scouts, who would you be and why? (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn do count just in case you’re wondering!)
I flip-flop with this all the time. I love how tomboyish Jupes was. She was just so cool and tough. I loved her so much! But I also loved Mars. She was a true friend. Calling out Serena when she was being an idiot but always there for her. She was more cutting and sarcastic… I LOVE that part of her.
Q7: Not sure if you know this but Viz Media re-dubbed the original series since they dubbed Sailor Moon Crystal. What are your thoughts on this and have you seen it? If you have, what are your thoughts on Stephanie Sheh being the title character now?
I’d have to have been under a rock for the last 4 years not to have known about the Viz dub and Crystal. I love that they have given the fans something more. Everyone has been waiting and wanting more for sooooooooooooooo long and finally they get to sink their teeth into a little new Sailor Moon material. I like that Crystal holds more true to the manga and I think Stephanie Sheh is trying to be closer to the original Japanese voice which is cool.
Q8: Now it’s time for my favorite question for voice actors! What was the funniest thing that ever happened to you while in the booth or did you play any pranks on anyone?
It was pretty funny when Rini and Moon switched ages. Usually we record all the episodes all by ourselves in the studio, but for that episode Sugar and I were together. She has such a high voice. Watching her face contort going down lower was HILARIOUS! And then when Rini grabs her boobs and said, “Get a load of these”… OMG… we almost died laughing. We didn’t get scripts ahead of time so we were watching it for the first time while we recorded it and we just couldn’t stop laughing. It took us WAY to long to record that episode. But we just couldn’t stop. That’s probably one of the reasons they wouldn’t let us record together. LOL.
Q9: Are there any new projects that you can talk about for you?
I have a few of things I’m working on right now. George of the Jungle is now on air, Zhu Zhu Pets, Top Wing, Wandering Wenda, Little People and others. I also do a lot of commercials as well. I’m pretty lucky. I love what I do and I seem to get work. No complaints here.

Thanks so much for the interview. Please feel free to correct any spelling and grammar. If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Well that is it for this interview! There is one more Sailor Scout that I am still waiting on and that is Susan Roman who played Sailor Jupiter, my favorite Sailor Scout. Here is the thing with me and Sailor Moon the series…better take out the tissues!

::clears throat:: I even replied to Linda with this but haven’t done it with Katie yet but hope you’re reading out there…the series came on Toonami when I was in middle school and still running through high school and well I was bullied for having a speech impediment and of course being visually impaired since I was diagnosed during my freshman year of high school with my eye condition. Sailor Moon did teach me not to let the bullies put you down for being smart and all around different. I didn’t realize that until now after reading the past two interviews since Katie and Linda along with anyone who has been on the cast even the new cast heard why and how it changed their lives. Like Fairy Tail teaching me how to be persistent and not to give up te fight even how hard it gets, Sailor Moon did teach me how to believe in myself. I did look up to Jupiter the most since she did help Serena/Usagi to become tough in the fight even if she starts crying in battle. I still remember when I commented on Stallarnan’s video where she shown how to do the famous bunhead hairdo that you see (watch it, in case if you want to pull it off) she asked what is your fave Sailor Scout? I did say Jupiter and she replied, “She bakes cakes and kics ass while doing it.” Lol Which I agree!

Susan Roman, if you are out there! I still want to ask you these questions too! Or at least get to meet you during MegaCon since you will be there too!

That is it for this interview! You can also still catch my interview with Katie Griffin and make sure you follow her and Linda on social media and catch them at MegaCon or at a convention near you!

What is next? I may go ahead and do the anime that should be dubbed post after all because looking on it, I do have some suggestions! Until next time from Sailor Universe! ::changes back into the fedora and trenchcoat with the .hack thunder wave symbols wearing cat girl:: Now where is Gondras with the Tardus?
