The Convention Quadrant: Legendary Voice Actors Panel at RangerStop 7!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back for another post!

Legendary Voice Actors Panel at RangerStop 7

Another panel video for you all and it is the Legendary Voice Actors Panel from RangerStop last year! Two of the guests they had were Samantha Newark who played Jem on Jem & the Holograms and Wally Wingert who you’ve seen my interview on YouTube and here on the blog! This was a very interesting panel because we get to not only hear Sam’s adventure in becoming a voice actress but also Wally’s adventure too. I did get to ask a question and had to re-iterate it a bit because it was kind of lost. I asked about how they feel about live-action adaptations of classic cartoons? I came up with the idea due to how Jem & the Holograms was adapted into live-action and well it didn’t get a lot of rave reviews and same with many others like Josie & the Pussycats as an example due to how the movie didn’t have a good script if I remembered one answer was said but you get to hear their answers. I do agree since you will see and hear my question in the John Tui Experience video that if it is a bad script then the movie wouldn’t do so well and can see why other cartoon live-action adaptations weren’t really made for the big screen. I did like the one Scooby Doo movie that Cartoon Network had a few years back on how the gang got together and wished they continued with that. Anyways, all tangents aside, just enjoy the rest of the video!

That is it for this post! I will get the next panel video up but I do have another book review for you guys so stay tuned!

The Subscription Satelite: Ipsy Glam Bag February 2020!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! Time for my last subscription post for this month!

Ipsy Glam Bag February 2020!

So, this bag came the day after my previous two boxes did and like with GB Plus, you get five deluxe and sometimes full size products in this bag and it’s also from prestige to luxury and sometimes indie and drugstore for $12 a month!

Colored Rain Liquid Lipstick in 24/7: First up is a product from Colored Rain Cosmetics and it’s their liquid lipstick in 24/7. I remembered how Nikkie Tutorials said that these lipsticks are amazing and agree with her! These lipsticks hardly budge and they stay on for a long time. This is a rosy nude color which is perfect shade for work and I don’t have to worry about re-applying since I do teach and it would stay on even when I have water. I’m glad to try this formula since I wanted to after seeing them at Riley Rose when they existed a little while back. Oh well! Hope to get more of these in future bags!
IT Cosmetics: Primer + Oil: I am going to stop at this since it has a long name. Why do brands give items really long names I don’t know! Anyways, this is the first item I finished in my bag because this tube was TINY! I am not kidding. I thought this was the hand cream which I will talk about later but had Seeing A. I. tell me with the Short Text Channel that this tiny tube was the primer. I wish it was bigger because the bag was the same size as the GB Plus Bag and would be perfect to get a primer the same size as the hand cream. I did use it and found it pretty tacky not going to lie and had to wet my sponge to blend my foundation. I found it did keep my makeup on but didn’t feel anything else special with this one. Not my favorite item to try but it did help in keeping my makeup on.
The Beauty Crop Fine apple Powder Brush: Next up is a powder brush by Beauty Crop! I’m glad to get a powder brush from these guys since there are times I need a quick powder brush in front of me without leaving my vanity. It’s really nice and soft and decently sized for what they’ve sent me. Nice change from all the eye brushes I’ve received.
Petal to the Metal in Shift to Overdrive, Turbo: Next is my choice item in this bag and that’s The Balm’s Petal to the Metal shadow in Shift to Overdrive, Turbo. It’s a cream shadow in a rose gold with silver sparkle and you know I love rose gold and when I saw this as a choice I snatched it! When I got it it looked different from what I imagined. When I think cream shadow I think to a small screw topped container but nope! This came in the signature Balm sampler packaging as in those tiny books! It’s decently size but I feel it is a bit dry. I wished they put it in a container because cream products even shadows do dry up. I’m sorry if I sound negative but that’s my only issue with this. I will try and use it as usual.
Merci Handy Hand Cream in Hello Sunshine: Final item is a new brand I never heard of called Merci Handy and glad to try these guys and it’s a hand cream which is a bonus. My hands do get dry even due to the hand soap at work so this will be great to use. This hand cream has almond oil and it contains little emollient beads to help with the extra moisture which I can’t wait to try this out. Apparently it also has a citrus smell. I will have to see how it goes!

I found this bag kind of okay because of the primer being okay and the Balm cream shadow being in a different packaging than I hoped. I hope I can use it on my eyes at some point in time. I wasn’t totally disappointed because I did get two add-ons which happened to be the Violet Voss Berry Burst pallet which is the Fun Size ones which made me happy. And of course I got another Pharmacy Green Clean because I loved it and hasn’t broken me out either. Helps with the makeup cleaning a lot! I did enjoy the lipstick though and excited about the hand cream and brush. I think the items in GB Plus had a bit more oomph and hoping March to be better since next month they’re celebrating their hundredth bag which can’t wait to see what’s in store for that one! What’s next for Nerdy Shique Universe? Another RangerStop Panel! Stay tuned for that. Also announcement! I will be reviewing Traverser’s new album on Nerdy Shique Transmissions instead because I feel better if I do that live rather than just writing about it so stay tuned for that! So keep an eye out on all major platforms where you get podcasts! Until then guys, stay beautiful while traveling the vast universe!

The Subscription Satelite: Ipsy Glam Bag Plus February 2020!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another subscription post!

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus February 2020!

I got my GB Plus the same day as my BoxyCharm and figured to do this one next and save the Glam Bag for last since that came in the next day. This is the second tier in Ipsy where it costs $25 a month and you get more full size items from more high end and luxury brands in beauty and skin care. You also can get some brush sets and tools in this one too. I prefer this one out of the higher tiers because I am able to use items that keep my makeup collection in check on both sides and can try something new whether it’s from a brand I heard of or not. Let’s see what I got!

Murad Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30: Damn that was a long name! Come on brands make it simple with your product names. I don’t get why they have to be this long. Anyways! I have tried out Murad with their AHA BHA Expholiator and loved it and on my second tube that I got through the major holiday box I bought back in last November of so many items including that and with this I am kind of worried. You will see why. This item is a day moisturizer but is also a moisturizer with SPF in it it’s light and perfect for all skin types. I am afraid of the SPF in this product because I tend to break out from anything containing this ingredient. Yes, I know I live in Florida but my skin is sensitive. My very first item I ever tried with this ingredient was when I got my very first Ipsy Glam Bag and it had a Paula’s Choice product with SPF and my skin couldn’t take it and I broke out, even broke out when I got a IT Cosmetics CC Cream and used it in Miami and my skin broke out because of the SPF in that one too. I know skin care has come a long way and Murad is known for being friendly to people with sensitive skin so I will take a try at this once I get through my other moisturizers since I’m almost done with one of them due to accidentally dropping it and got it all over my smock and have one other. So, will have to see how this goes but will mark I don’t like items with SPF in it. This item does retail for $65!
Laruce Essentials Brush Set: Next is my choice item and that is from Laruce and it’s their Essentials Brush Set. I chose this because I kind of felt like I was going to get one of the other products in this month’s box and I do love brushes. This is a five brush set that are made with synthetic bristles and are vegan and cruelty free. This set comes with a contour brush, a blush brush, and three eye brushes which is pretty good and the handles are different from the ones I am used to. This set retails for $154.
Dominique Cosmetics Sweater Weather Pallet: Next is Dominique Cosmetics and it’s the Sweater Weather Pallet! I had a feeling I was going to get this pallet and glad I didn’t choose it. This pallet has six neutral shadows which have pinks, purples, and I think browns which is perfect since I do love to work with these kinds of shades when it comes to some neutral looks. I find it funny in the description how they said that neutrals aren’t just for fall when I do them all year round and everyone else on YouTube also does neutral looks every part of the year. I can’t wait to use this one and this pallet retails for $29.99.
Il Makiage Inkliner in Black: Another eyeliner came and this is also in my work makeup kit! This is a felt tip liner that is smudge proof and lasts up to fourteen hours. I tend to clean my makeup off after I get home from work but knowing my Pharmacy Green Clean can get this off with no problem. I can’t wait to try this though. This does retail for $21.
Avette Daily Squeeze Mask Duo in Grape & Litchi: Final items are sheet masks which made me happy again this month! As you know I love sheet masks and after last month getting six, this month I got four in both Grape and Litchi! These masks are packed with citrus and coconut water which help nourish and hydrate skin after a long night. I did use one of these after coming home from work when I just got my box and well it did kind of sting but it did calm down as I wore it so I think it’s due to being so new and I have to use these even further to see how I like it. I’m so glad to get these in my GB Plus and will be looking forward to any others coming in my box or choose a few! I can’t find a retail price, hold on! Found them online at their official website and they are $4.00 for two! Nice!

Well guys that is it for this post! I will update on the Murad situation once I get to this product since knowing living in a coastal town I do need SPF but at the same time my skin can go haywire so I will have to see how that goes. I am glad I chose the brushes and I did put my eyeliner with my other pen liners I’ve gotten. I wish I got other colors because I did choose the other ones on my quiz. I will use the masks as always and will see how the shadow pallet goes since I did get the Celestial Thunder Pallet in BoxyCharm but haven’t used it yet. I will see how both go! What’s next? My Glam Bag of course!

The Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm February 2020!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a subscription!

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance PadsCiate London Every Day Vacay Coconut PowderAlomar Cosmetics Complexion Brush TrioBoxyCharm February 2020!

Oh yes it’s that time again and that is my subscriptions! All three came in this week and was surprised that it did. On Tuesday my Glam Bag Plus and BoxyCharm came in first and then yesterday my Ipsy came in. Never saw that happen until this month this year. I’m not complaining! Anyways, this box is $25 a month and you get five full size products from prestige and luxury brands! I didn’t get a card so I have to go off the website from what I got! Thank you Seeing A. I. for letting me know what was in my box!

Becca Cosmetics Ultimate Cover 24 Hour Foundation: First is another item from Becca and this time it’s the foundation that was on a card a few months ago. If you remembered me mentioning that BoxyCharm gave a quiz on complexion products and asked everyone about their foundation and concealer because they were starting to give out these items this year and depending on your box you either got a card with samples of Pretty Vulgar’s concealer or Becca’s foundation and I got Becca’s foundation card and matched myself to Cashmere. This was also what I picked but decided to do the pick since knowing that they may get it wrong but glad I did get to choose this in my Boxy Choice even though it didn’t give me the shadow pallet from Iconic London but I realized I have so many shadow pallets I need one month off at least and they did it last February too with a break from a shadow pallet. Anyways, I did hear this is a dry skin horror but I want to try and see if this is true since I have dryness issues and see how it goes and how the shade looks on me in full. Plus it claims to be breathable so have to see! This foundation retails for $44!
Alomar Complexion Brush Trio: Next is another product from Alomar and this time its brushes and it’s a face brush trio. I’m happy to get these since I do love brushes and can’t go wrong in having good face ones either. These feel really soft and I can’t wait to try these and see how well my makeup blends as well. These retail for $36!
First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads: Next is something I haven’t gotten in a subscription in a long time and that is from First Aid Beauty. Remember when I first tried them in Ipsy? Well, I got them here through BoxyCharm and its Facial Radiance Pads. These kind of remind me of my Clearasil pads but these work differently. These pads contain the daily amount of lactic and glycolic acids that help smooth and brighten the skin and also tone it even sensitive skin types like me. So far these have been pretty good because I’ve been using them after cleaning off my makeup to help balance my skin again since I do wear makeup to work every day and having something after cleaning it off makes it feel cleaner. I will have to keep using these. I wonder if Ulta carries these because they retail for $17.
Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder: I am so glad I got another powder so I won’t have to run out to buy another! That is one good thing I love about subscriptions I don’t have to worry about re-stocking on products and over stocking on them either so I can just use my backups as time goes on. Anyways, I’m glad that I get to try another item from Ciate London that is face related and this is supposed to smell slightly like coconut and it’s finely milled and doesn’t cause flashback either. I can’t wait to use this since I’m using another powder at the moment. This retails for $22!
Ebio Cleansing Hemp Wipes: Final item is from Evio and they are cleansing wipes. I have to say is these aren’t good for makeup cleaning on the face because they suck! I tried to use these on removing my Lash Princess Waterproof Mascara and had a hard time when they claim to remove any waterproof makeup. I also feel like with the first two wipes they were kind of dry. I am just going to use these to clean my brushes instead of cleaning my makeup off because I think the Pharmacy Green Clean and the Up & Up Wipes just work a lot more than these! $9.50 is their retail price and I would not recommend.

Well guys that is it for this month’s box. I did find it a little meh but I’m actually happy that I get to try an actual foundation as in not a trial size bottle. Also, I get to try a powder from Ciate London which will be great once I get to open it at last. Not only that getting to try brushes from Alomar and another First Aid Beauty item kind of rounded it off. Not too bad of a box and glad to try new things from brands I have tried even in other subscriptions. Can’t wait for March’s box! So guys stay tuned for Glam Bag Plus!

The Convention Quadrant: Magical Source! Mystic Force! Panel from RangerStop 7!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with a new post!

Magical Source! Mystic Force! Panel from RangerStop 7!

Sorry for the wait on panel videos because we had a bit of trouble getting them off the SD on Gondras’ phone and he was going through laptop issues and of course we were also preparing for Omni on top of it but managed to talk with Damean in getting them together. The first panel up is the Mystic Force Panel and this was a long one because there were a lot of things being talked about in this one even it split into four parts for this one.

I did remember Linkara saying this was one of the weaker seasons of Power Rangers but I am kind of curious to watch it after this panel since my ex did watch the Japanese version, Magiranger, but am a sucker for the American version since that was what I grew up on. I did start watching Wild Force so it will be a bit before I get to this season. What took place? Watch and you will find out!

That is it for this post guys! More panel videos to come since we have gone to a majority of these during that convention. WHat’s next? I did get my BoxyCharm and Glam Bag Plus earlier today so I will be posting my BoxyCharm first! Until next time!

The Convention Comet: Omni Fandom Expo 2020 in Kissimmee, FL

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! It’s time for the first convention of the year!

Omni Fandom Expo 2020
Dates: March 20-22, 2020
Location: Days by Celebration, Kissimmee, FL

Another year has started and you know what that means? Time for another convention season to start and our season starts with Omni Fandom Expo. As you all know we’ve been doing press for these guys since their first year in 2014 and glad to get another!

Location: Change of location this year and it will be at the Days by Wyndham Celebration located in Kissimmee. This hotel is located near Disney and of course a few miles away from Universal if you want to check out the main attractions. The features include free parking, express check out, free breakfast, a work out room, hot tub, and pool and even a restaurant known as Savannah Bar & Grill. The room rate here is $129 a night and I would say reserve as soon as possible because this discount ends on February 27th!

Guests: This year’s guests include Grey Delisle Griffin who is well known for her roles as Mandy from the Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Azula from Avatar: The Last Air Bender, and of course can’t forget Vicky from the Fairly Odd Parents! Returning to Orlando after years of not coming back is Neil Kaplan which makes me happy since it’s been years. You can hear him as Lord Zarkon in Voltron: Legendary Defender! And of course, returning again this year is Mr. Xemnes himself Paul St. Peter! And of course we can’t forget Speak Easy Sirens who has been a Burlesque troop that always been performing every year and bringing on Theoretical Rejects as another troop for this year’s event. And finally, one group that will be doing a performance this year is Shinobi School which is a performance troop from Tampa that specializes in park or, circus acrobatics, and so much more.

Events: One event I’m excited for is Miyazaki Madness which will be performed by Shinobi School and will be taking place that Saturday at noon during the convention. It will take our most beloved Miyazaki characters and have them do many feats and dance moves. If you want the more eighteen plus stuff, Speak Easy Sirens and Theoretical Rejects have Lore Olympus and NetFlix & Chill during that weekend. Please leave your kids at home since these two are eighteen and up only!

That is about it on this year’s event! Can’t wait to see you guys there! Hoping they add more guests in the meantime since we haven’t interviewed Grey yet and glad to see Neil back in Orlando since his last con was around 2009 I believe? So can’t wait to see what he has in store if we get that chance to interview him. And with Paul, we all know his events and can’t wait and see if Pirate Curses makes a return and if you want to learn voice acting I highly recommend his voice acting class panels. We will be buzzing around the convention floor this year and of course having new teammates! Let’s meet them shall we?

Damion Alexander Faelan and Michael Roach: Welcome our new teammates who will be joining us to do photography during the event. If you’re cosplaying, there will be photoshoots being held by these two and Damion does have his own photography business known as Shadow Rayne Photography which we will include a link down below.

And of course, we do have a new camera coming with us for floor interviews so a lot of new things will be with us so stay tuned. And of course, don’t forget our podcast Nerdy Shique Transmissions where I will also be talking about this convention in each episode leading up to the convention itself! Anyone on Breaker? I forgot that you can also listen to it on there too!

What is next? Our start of the RangerStop Panel videos since Damion was also helping us in getting those put together since they were recorded in separate parts. First of the panels is the Magical Source! Mystic Force! Panel! Stay tuned!

The Book Quadrant: Chocolate Chocolate Moons by. Jackie Kingon

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new book review but this time it’s a book that is a prequel to something I already read!

Chocolate Chocolate Moons by. Jackie Kingon

Disclaimer: This review is based on thoughts and opinions of the lead writer of this blog. Please respect her thoughts on this special book file she got from the author directly. You’ve been warned!

This book is the first in a series where we meet Molly, a chubby food lover who wouldn’t have thought that her life could change when winning a scholarship to the Armstrong Food Academy on the moon. Later in her life she lives on Mars with her husband and two twin daughters and after starting her new job as a security officer at a culinary academy she finds people are being poisoned by her favorite chocolate snack, Chocolate Moons.

Thoughts: I didn’t know when I read Sherlock Mars that there was another book before this one. To be fair I didn’t join NetGalley until after this one was published and did enjoy that one over this one slightly more.

I felt this one had way too many characters to follow. At first we follow Molly and her ex-boyfriend, Drew, who ends up having an affair with Colorful Copies or C. C. for short and then we meet even more characters that I feel like she didn’t really interacted even with the first poisoning happened. Yes, she was trying to hide herself due to her weight but unlike in this one she didn’t interact with the characters like in Sherlock Mars that were suspected for the poisoning in the first place. As in, we followed their day to day lives and wondering where is Molly among these people? I get the idea she doesn’t want to be with her ex when she knew about him being on Mars but would make sense if she was the main character in this story that she interacts with more of the suspects rather than Drew which I felt the story should have him as narrator. Sorry for being critical.

I did like how Molly and Jersey met in this since the second book did briefly mention how they worked together at the culinary academy and their friendship works very well. As in, Jersey being someone who takes vitamin supplements and spends on fancy things while Molly is simpler and does eat but does lose the weight later to be healthier. It did continue into the next book where we get to see more of Jersey and Molly together and hanging out on Mercury and Mars. This book needed more of that but I understand it was the first.

One last thing, when it came to the suspect reveal I was kind of surprised since I was not expecting it but I would say if you’re into intergalactic mysteries or mysteries in general I would say read these books! I would say read them in order like always!

Rating: 3.5 Shooting Star Paws Out of 5! I only gave this a four but I felt this was a better rating because I preferred the second book more than the first despite reading that first. I am grateful that Jackie did send me this book to read and same with the next which I will read after finishing re-reading Sherlock Mars to get the feeling of the series. I feel the main character had less of a moment when the suspects had more to it and glad with the second one we got more interactions with the suspects in the second one. I can’t wait to read the next one, P is for Pluto with how it continues.

Well guys that’s it for this review! Before I go, I want to tell you all that we have a podcast! Yay! It’s called Nerdy Shique Transmissions and you can get it at:
