Skin Care Quadrant: The One Pack One Day Sheet Mask Try On!

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I have a different post before my Subscription Review Round Up!

Trying Out Sheet Masks for Seven Days!

I wanted to write my experience with this and that is using sheet masks every day for one week. No this was not a challenge from anyone it was basically something I read in Allure Magazine.

I tend to get emails from Allure with articles that are interesting and sometimes kind of weird but I do tap on the more interesting ones that caught my kitty curiosity and one in particular that was recent during my time at home was about using sheet masks for an entire week. The article was about how a K Pop performer gets her skin looking good before performances by putting a sheet mask on every day for a month to keep her skin dewy and even a Read It person from Korea has done the same thing. This got Allure to ask dermatologists about it and they said its fine but watch out for certain ingredients which is a bit of a big thing here in the states where everyone has different skin types that can’t take all of the harsh ingredients. One of these ingredients is glycolic acid and along with other exfoliating ingredients it can cause irritation. I remembered my masks mainly contained the hyrolonic acid I tend to hear about here and there and you already know I have a ton of sheet masks in my disposal. So, I decided to try out the One Day One Pack last week!

Sunday: Sunday I was using one of my purple broccoli masks I got in a duo pack from Ipsy, most of these masks did come from Ipsy Offers and it was a nice start. As you guys know I go through dry and sensitive skin and this hasn’t bothered my skin at all. It did give nice hydration after taking it off and felt fine. In the article it did say if you have sensitive skin it would help out so after reading this article it did have me start after this mask.
Monday: Monday and Tuesday was a back to back with this brand that is with Rael Beauty. I got two different ones and they are bamboo masks and the one I used for this day was the Hydrating Masks that has pineapple extracts in it. I was glad to have this one since I can get a little bit on the drier side near my T-Zone and this one has a really nice scent to it. Plus I don’t feel the mask on either.
Tuesday: After using the Rael Hydration Mask I used the Purifying Mask. I felt that I had to use these two up since I felt I had these a bit longer than most of the ones I already have and I tend to reach these a lot but they are meant for more oily skin people which I did feel a slight irritation with this one. This has Tea Tree Oil so that is why it felt a little irritating on the skin. I haven’t felt it much when I first started using these. I think I have one more to use or maybe more than that and just have one more of the Hydrating ones.
Wednesday: I ended up getting my Ipsy Offer that had stuff for skin and one item for hair which I will be using the hair wrap for my hair wash nights thank you! The bundle came with one sheet mask and it’s from Naisture and it’s their Lovely Strawberry Mask which helps balance oil and moisture with ascorbic acids to keep skin healthy. It did help my skin with some moisture but most of the time while having it on though it felt like it dried a bit too fast since I don’t put it for fifteen minutes I do twenty to thirty for a better experience. I also noticed it didn’t really smell like strawberry either. As in it had no scent to it really, it was just a moisturizing mask. I think I have other masks from this brand since I have so many masks from Ipsy and have bought so many of them last year but this one is not a re-purchase or maybe they sent me one that was probably bottom of the barrel. Wait a second! I checked online for this one and it apparently is meant for oily and combination skin, I can see why it didn’t help much! Wishing that it was a different mask because this one didn’t help much except with a slight moisture.
Thursday: I finally opened my other 7 Days Mask Set because I finished a box of these I think two weeks earlier. I got these towards the end of 2019 I believe and they feel so good on the skin! They have different ones and the one I used on this night was the avocado mask and it does smell like if you juiced an avocado! I love avocados even as guacamole and it is really good for the skin and hair. Heck, Lush did make a bath bomb with the extracts for this fruit. It did moisturize my skin a lot more than the Naisture Strawberry one from Wednesday and it was very cooling too. Glad I got to open these after a bit!
Friday: Friday was a new one that I purchased and that is from Purlisse. As you know I am a fan of Jennifer Yen’s skin care brand due to how it helps sensitive skin people due to how she has the same skin type and that heavy stage makeup, especially on Light Speed Rescue, caused her skin to break out horribly and she started using her grandmother’s skin remedies and green tea is one of those! I picked up from Ipsy a bundle that has six green tea masks and the green tea face primer for makeup and glad to try this sheet mask because I wanted to try them after purchasing them. All I have to say is that this mask feels so good! I felt like I wasn’t wearing a mask with this one since it felt very light. Also it did smell like green tea you tend to get at an Asian market. As in actual tea! Also it did do what it was supposed to do by moisturizing my face and felt plump. If you have sensitive skin like me and need a brand, I would suggest trying these masks. I have to see their prices because this brand can be a bit pricey so I would say get the discounts on Ipsy’s website.
Saturday: the last one is the Tony Moley I Am Real Green Tea Sheet Mask! I know having another green tea one after the Purlisse mask was weird but it was the first one that came out of a huge zip lock bag where I put a lot of loose masks in my cabinet. This is a layering mask whereat has little patches to put in some areas and then place the actual mask on top. I did put two of the patches on my under eyes and then the actual mask. It does feel soothing and moisturizing and very cooling. Great thing is that you can put these into the refrigerator for extra cooling effects. I am waiting on a cactus one to try out since that has prickly pear extract.

Thoughts: After using these masks it was a way of trying out different formulas of masks to get a feeling of how my skin would feel. The Naisture mask in Lovely Strawberry did some moisturizing but not by much. It did dry up a bit quickly and wishing this one did a bit more to my skin except it was meant for oily skin. I did enjoy the Rael Hydrating mask, the Purlisse Green Tea, the Tony Moley Green Tea, and the Purple Broccoli ones while the Rael Purifying was a little irritating.

I do have to say is that this experience was interesting because I never thought wearing a mask every day for a month would help skin become dewy and of course no more break outs with zits. I have sensitive skin so my skin reacts differently depending on what gets used on it. I will be taking a break from masks this week because I feel that it did help with some moisture but I can’t do this all the time. Yes, it’s important to take care of the skin but you also have to be careful with ingredients and what makes the skin happy and mad. So, I will have my skin calm down and have it rest until next Sunday.

That is about it guys! If you want to do this week with sheet masks go on ahead and see how it reacts with your skin because some people tend to react to different masks in different ways. I will be back with the subscription round up, don’t worry! Until next time! Stay beautiful!
