The Book Quadrant: Nemec one: Ripples in the Traverse

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new book review!

Nemecine: Ripples in the Traverse

Disclaimer:

This review is based on thoughts and opinions of the lead writer of this blog. Please respect her thoughts and opinions throughout this review.

What Is It About?

We continue the series with a new episode, in this episode we find the twins finding out more mysteries about their mother. Oceans have returned to their levels back in the 21st century, other plights on earth still keep people locked up in their homes. With the evacuation of Eadonberg all thanks to the Pranum’s obsession against the Gadlins and causing trouble within alliances.

Within the twins’ new home, Zafarian is back and hoping to be friends again except something’s going on that causes mistrust towards him. While trying to rekindle trust, Zafarian uses his security clearances from his job as assistant their enemy, Sothese, to help them through areas of Minesburg to find answers to their mystery. With new answers and trips through dreams, both of our twins wonder if their half-human guides are really to trust and wonder how they can keep balance in the world as they keep going on their journey.

Thoughts:

I felt that this volume had a lopt of twists and turns. I was glad to see Zafarian come back because I was worried something really bad had happened to him until he came back in the Elise section of Chapter 1. I had a feeling that there was more for him to do and seeing he is working for the enemy was surprising. Seeing all the other characters coming together like Nithruyu, Nepharus, and Toofury made the story even more entertaining and interesting since they are involved in the mysteries and making sure that both of our twins are getting through things safely without having another situation like in Volume 4.

Siffulah is the newest addition to the section one of the chapters which we get to follow what is taking place behind the scenes in Sothese’s place from what I can tell. At first, I felt a little confused with his actions since he was doing what he was ordered but I could seeing Siffulah’s actions is making sure that Zafarian does not wander and betray from what I’ve seen later on.

Rating: Five Shooting Star Paws Out of5

I feel that this book makes me anticipate for the next volume in the series after reading the last chapter. I don’t want to give too much away since it ended on something that was not expected before my Voice Dream Reader went into the Glossary. I did enjoy the interactions Elise had with everyone since she has changed from the first three books and she has morlast volume since he has grown as welol and takes more on a third person perspective in areas which makes it a little scary but takes his experiences in a different light. I can’t wait to see how Volume 7 and see how the story continues.

Well, that ends this book review! I’mg glad to get back into doing book reviews again since I feel more at home and sometimes finding a time to read book can be a little hard due to finding new things on Audible. I will get back to what I was reading before! Until next time!

By the way, youy can purchase this b ook in November and can find it on Amazon with the other volumes in this series.

Subscription Satelite: Allure Beauty Box August 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I know it’s weird to get two posts in one day, we will be busy getting new convention content so here goes!

Allure Beauty Box August 2021

This is my second Allure Beauty Box and glad to continue. This month, I do have one thing to say about one product I have tried and it’s not good but you will see. Understand these are my thoughts on it. This box is $23 a month and you get items that are mentioned in Allure or brands that have not been mentioned but have become editor’s picks. Also, they do give bonus items to new subscribers which I did end up with an eye cream which will come in handy. Let’s see what they gave to everyone this month!

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner

First up is from a brand I never heard nor try before and

Mediheal Intensive Sheet Mask

Next up is a sheet mask from MediHeal! I remembered using these guys back in No Make No Life and glad to find these guys in Allure. They do spotlights on K Beauty Brands which are the range nowadays. This is a cotton mask soaked with moisture serums and do stay on the face without slipping. I’m glad to try these guys again because after leaving No Make No Life, I was sad that I wouldn’t get a sheet mask from them again but I was wrong. So, I will have to see how this one go! This retails for $19.

Beautuniq Beauty Blush Serum in Magenta Sky

Here we go guys! The item I tried today in my makeup and a dap they say! Apply it with your fingers they say! It ruined makeup look! WTF!?!? This thing sucked! They say that this a water nourishing serum that is supposed to give you a raspberry flush. It did not with me! RJ came home and saw it and he told me it made me look sunburned and that it also made my forehead look pale in comparison to the rest of my skin. Also, it runs all over the place like liquid lipstick. I am sorry! I can’t wear this on my face as a blush! I know it can also go on the lips but I am also worried I would have the repeat of the Ribbon from Colour Pop situation! If you guys get this, do not try it! Beautuniq, if you are reading this! Make this as a stick or put it in a pan if you want to do a cream gel or at least a better tube. Having a tiny bit won’t work with the amount of pressure you push down on this thing! I had to clean my makeup off because of how bad it looked! Stay away from this product and not putting the price!

Real Her I’m Resilient Eye Liner in Copper

Next up is an eyeliner pencil. I’m glad I got this as the other makeup item because can’t really go wrong with an eyeliner unless depending on the person it does smudge all over. With pencils, I don’t have an issue with! I will see how well it goes on my eyes once I start using it. This retails for $16.

111 Skin Y Theorem Day Cream

Final item is from 111 Skin which is a very pricy skin care company! Trust me, when I saw the price of this thing, I was glad I am only using it once and glad to just get it in this box. I understand that you should have great skin care but you don’t have to go overboard and spend so much money on it when there are great drugstore options out there. Yes, I have and loved Murad but I do get that on sale through 21 Days of Beauty. Anyways, this is a pretty good day cream since I am using it right now before I use sunscreen and it doesn’t really irritate my skin like the moisturizer, I got last month. It is also a pretty good size with what you get. If you can’t afford this one, I would say look into other day creams from other brands so there you go! Here is the price…$270. I know right!?

Well guys, that is it for this month’s box! I tossed the blush and everyone who has seen my horrific photo did not like the color except one but they said to blend. It can’t blend! I will try the Colour Pop serum blushes since someone suggested those. The other products in this month’s box do excite me though since I am already enjoying the day cream from 111 Skin and can’t wait to use the sheet mask. I did say I packed the toner to use while at the convention which stay tuned for all our coverage and any interviews we get to do! I will have my Pixel Book Go with me to do any posts as well. Until next time!

Subscription Satelite: Allure Beauty Box August 2021

Subscription Satelite: Glam Bag August 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! Another post for you all!

Glam Bag August 2021

Another subscription for you guys and that is my Ipsy Glam Bag! I’m glad to get it early since I didn’t have any add-ons this month after getting my flat iron last month. I also find the items very convenient in this month’s bag since I did pack two and may do with another for their convenient travel size. This bag is $12 a month except in October it will be raised to $13 due to how many new brands they are starting to feature and glad that they have newer brands to introduce to us. You do get brands ranging from independent to some luxury and you get them in deluxe or even full-size if you’re lucky. Let’s see what I got this month!

Beauty For Real 24/7 Gel Eyeliner in Olive

First item is the Beauty for Real 24/7 Gel Eyeliner in Olive and this is what I chose for this month’s bag. I was happy to get this since it was a nice change from getting black liners all the time and I do sometimes do green eye looks and would love a green liner to balance things. It claims it’s a waterproof formula that doesn’t budge and it’s very smooth as well. You can also smudge this or even give a nice tightline if you wanted. I will try this out and see how it goes. This values at $16.

F. A. H. R. A. Brushes Rose Gold 25 E Blender

Next up is from F. A. H. R. A. and glad to get another brush from them since I have loved all their brushes I’ve tried over time. I did pack this one for the trip since I only packed one shadow which is a blue one to match the newly designed shirts and wanted something to wear for the weekend without much time to waste and this brush would help blend the shadow. I do like the shape it gives and it’s more of a pencil in a way which I do like. This is a dome shaped brush with densely packed bristles to help with smoky eyes. I do love that and can’t wait to use it on my eyes. This values for $11.

Feel Beauty Daily Hemp Cleanser

Next up is a cleanser which I am going to try and find and pack it since I would want to try this on the trip and the size is perfect for travel! One thing I do like about this subscription is that you can travel with these samples without the trouble. Not only this contains hemp seed oil but also other non-irritating ingredients that would strip the skin. It can also be used for cleaning off makeup which makes me happy since not only I would have makeup wipes but would love that extra step to clean off my face during the weekend. I will let you guys know how it worked out!

Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in Work

I packed this since I heard that Atlanta could get a bit hot so why not try another cream product that doubles as a lip and cheek and this is what Milk made this into! This product is a dusty rose shade that can give the cheeks a nice tint and same with the lips. This product is made with mango butter, peach nectar extract, and avocado oil to help plump the skin on contact. I love that idea since my skin can be a little dry especially with how hot it has gotten in Florida and knowing my skin will take a hit with the switch next weekend. I will try this out and see how it goes with its nice small travel size!

Pur On Point Mascara with Hemp

A lot of hemp items this month but I did get this mascara though! This mascara is made with plant-based ingredients and it’s a multi-tasker where it does the same thing most mascaras do as in lengthen, volumize and other things to make the lashes look nice. I will give this a try but won’t do it during the convention since I already packed my Fenty one from GB X! I will use it with other makeup looks though!

That is, it for this bag! I’m glad to get a few things to use during RangerStop next weekend in Atlanta since I’ve seen some people use their products during travel due to the deluxe sizes helping during a weekend or a week away. I hope I can find the last Glam Bag with the cleanser since knowing the makeup wipes won’t be the only items, I will use to help clean my face. Stay tuned for the next post because it’s Allure Beauty Box time!

Subscription Satelite: Glam Bag X August 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post@

Glam Bag X August 2021

Unfortunately, I lost the card for last month’s GB Plus but I am making up for losing that with starting with Glam Bag X. This is a quarterly version of the Glam Bag where you get more luxury brands and more independent ones as well. This costs $50 but you get a lot of stuff for the price! This month, it was all about Holsi and her brand About Face, let’s see what I got this month alongside my choices!

About Face Light Lock Powder in Smother: First up is my item from About Face. This is a powder highlighter that can be applied with a brush or fingers and it is made with lavender and silver pigments. So, basically an icy lavender shade! I am so excited about using this! I do enjoy a nice highlight and will see how this goes. This does retail for $30.

Athr Beauty Moon Light Crystal Pallet: Next up is a product by Athr Beauty. This is a shimmery shadow pallet with eight shades and the shadows are made with coconut oil, rose quartz, and sapphire crystals. When I saw this being in my bag as a choice from Ipsy, I was really excited since I hardly get shadows that are shimmery in BoxyCharm. I do love my mattes but glad to balance with some shimmer. I will have to do a single eye look with this. This retails for $58.

Fenty Beauty Full Frontal Mascara in I’m Black: Next up is a product from Fenty. I find Rhiana’s music okay but I have heard her makeup brand has amazing products. Plus, it’s the first brand that has made many foundation shades that included everyone. Which caused some brands to either rag on her or follow suit. Makeup should be all inclusive people! Anyways, I didn’t try the foundation due to how many people say it’s not great for certain skin types so I wasn’t going to risk it but glad to get a mascara from this brand to try. I think most times I tend to get a new brand in my bag it’s a mascara. Not hating it! This claims to bring thickness, volume, and length to the lashes with the brush and the formula is waterproof without leaving smudges. You know what? I should take this with me to Atlanta! Why? I hear it gets hot up there and I need something to beat the heat if need be. I will put this through the test while doing press at RangerStop guys! Stay tuned for the report! This retails for $24. If I find a Sephora, I want to try a contour stick.

Herbivore Botanicals Emerald Deep Moisture Facial Oil: Next up is a product by a brand called Herbivore Botanicles. I never heard of these guys until now. This is an oil that helps the skin become calm and moisturized and protect it from harsh environmental factors. It does contain hemp seed oil, squalene, and a few other ingredients. I will definitely use this since Florida is known for its harmful sun rays and some pollution. I will give it a go. This retails for $48.

Volition Beauty Yoapta Tea Glow Moisturizer: Next up, another skin care product and this time a moisturizer. This contains a new kind of tea called Yoaptan Tea which is a new version of Matcha which is interesting. It helps the skin re-energize since it can look tired. I will definitely give this one a try since I have loved the green tea masks from Tony Moley and Purlisse. I will see how this goes! This retails for $39.

Briogeo Farewell Frizz Hair Dry and Heat Protectant Cream: Now, first item of my choices is from Briogeo. I remembered trying their Don’t Despair Hair Mask all thanks to other boxes and glad to see a full-size item in this box since I haven’t gotten full size items from these guys before. When I lived with my parents, the budget didn’t really allow this brand but at least I get to try an item again from them. This cream contains rose hemp, argon, and coconut oils to help with frizz and breakage in the hair. It also helps protects it from 450-degree heat, which is what most hair dryers and flat irons give off. I did get a new flat iron as an add-on. I will have to see how this product goes once I try it. This item retails for $24.

Kimchi Chick Beauty Thaila Blush in 01 Pinky: Next up is an item by Kimchi. You guys may remember that Kim Chi was a contestant on Rupaul’s Drag Race and had started her own makeup brand. When I saw this, I had to choose it except it came broeken. So, I’m waiting for a replacement. This is supposed to be a pin and peach combo to be able to swirl together to make a pinkish peach glow. If this comes in one piece then I will try it out! This retails for $15.

Tarte Clay Pot Shadow Liner in Rose Gold: Final item is from Tarte and it’s an eyeliner this time! I feel like this is a nice change since I haven’t really tried any eyeliners from these guys as of yet. This is an eye shadow and eyeliner hybrid which you can wear either way depending on the look you want to go for. This is made with rose gold minerals and Amazonian clay. I will use this as an eyeliner. I would even use this with the Athr shadow pallet. This retails for $21.

Dang! That was a lot of items to talk about! I did pack the mascara into my travel makeup bag since press awaits for me next weekend! I will definitely try out the eyeliner and other items. Let’s see how it goes! Next up with my Ipsy Glam Bag! Stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: Allure Beauty Box July 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from travelling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a return of a beauty box!

Allure Beauty Box July 2021

I cancelled this box because I felt bored with it and that I can get some items from the drugstore as easily. But realized there are times where trying items I haven’t tried before is important to get a better idea of the product without going into it blindly, no pun intended. After cancelling BoxyCharm and just sticking with Ipsy, I kind of missed this box and when they sent an email about a free gift that is worth a lot, I decided why not get back into it? So, it looks like the price has been raised from $15 a month to $23 a month and boxes can be worth over $200 with items that have spotlights in Allure Magazine. I do catch articles that interest me but of course seeing some of the top lists help my purchasing decisions. Let’s see what I got in this first box of being gone for two years.

Siate London Trend Pallet Bronzed: First up is an eye shadow pallet from Gate London. I neveCiate London Trends Bronzed Pallet: First up is a pallet from Ciate London. I have tried products from these guys in the past and enjoyed them so far. This is a nine pan pallet with earth tones and sunset shades mixed with matte and metallics. I will have to see how this goes even with my favorite eye primers. This pallet retails for $24.

Able Skin Care Retexturing & Resurfacing Duo Moisturizer: Next up is a product from Able Skin Care. I think I’ve seen this in some articles but never tried them if I remembered. I’m glad to find this in my box! This is a product that can help sensitive skin, it has Niacinamide and Lactic Acid to help with calming the skin and keeping it soothed throughout the night. The price for this thing is just whoa but I am glad to get a sample at least. I’m sorry I won’t buy skin care for this price which this retails for $132. I understand skin care is supposed to work over time and should be bought the most when it comes to price but there are drugstore brands I do love that are half the price or even more.

Acure Brightening Vitamin C Jelly Mask: Next up is a product from one brand I got in the past in this box and that is Acure. This is a mask that has antioxidants in it such as Vitamin C and does tighten in order to help with moisture. After a bit you do have to wash it off. I don’t miss having a wash off mask but this would be something worth to try. I don’t see a retail price but I have a feeling it may be high.  Wait! Found the price! It retails for $19.99.

La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Serum : Next up is a product from a brand I tend to see advertised on YouTube and seen on Ulta. This is a luxury brand from what I’ve seen and I hear their sunscreen is a bit popular but it looks like I got a serum in this box. I’ve been using a Good Molecules serum and glad to get a serum to try from La Roche-Posay to at least try not buy. This has a combination of Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 for moisture. I will have to see how this works with my skin! This retails for $29.99.

Winky Lux Uni-Brow Universal Brow and Lip Pencil: Next up is a product from Winky Lux. I was tempted to get their coffee cat pallets but Wet N Wild got my money for that instead. Oh well! This is a universal brow pencil and from the looks of it can be used for the lips as well? I think I will keep this on my brows since they are dark brown and will have to see how this goes since I can purchase this from Ulta. I may have to take this with me to Atlanta. This retails for $16.

Nature Labs Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner: Last two items are a shampoo and conditioner that won a Best of Beauty Award from Allure. These help with frizzy hair and also color treated hair. When I saw this in the magazine and knowing they are two tubes in my box, I am glad they did include these since I have frizzy hair. I have to see how well this goes. These two retail for $15 each!

This was a really good box! I know I was a bit harsh on it at first but I feel that this is worth the $23 since we are trying to take care of our skin and hair. I will have to see how each item goes! I can’t wait to see what comes in my August box since I did come back as another subscriber another item for new people will arrive. Next will be my Glam Bag Plus!
