Subscription Satelite: Ipsy Glam Bag October 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with another post!

Ipsy Glam Bag Oct. 2021

Another month, another subscription and that is my Glam Bag for this month. I have to say is that it was interesting since they added mostly skin care products but I did get one add-on.

Add-On: Hip Dot Witchy Warms Pallet

My add-on is from Hip Dot Cosmetics and that is their pallet for the Halloween Season! This year I’ve noticed brands have done some awesome items, I am looking at you Color Club since I’m wearing one of their glow in the dark polishes and it’s been so long since I got any and not sure if my Sinful one has stayed fresh right now. I am missing my nuclear reactor nails. Anyways, this pallet is a nine pan pallet with warm hues and I used it yesterday and loved it so far! I will use the other rows in this pallet to get more of a feel of the formula. THis retails for $16.

Chasin’ Rabbits Mindful Bubble Cleanse

First up is a product from a K Beauty Brand called Chasin’ Rabbits. I’m loving K Beauty and how much it has helped my skin so far since I have been using the Tony Moley AM Gel Cleanser every morning and this is one I decided to use to see how well it works with my skin. This is a gentle cleanser that has bamboo water that is supposed to moisturize the skin and made with charcoal to help with breaking down makeup as well if I did use this for that but I did wear makeup after a shower yesterday to try out the Hip Dot pallet and it did feel good on my skin this morning. It didn’t sting at all since with most charcoal items I feel a slight tingle due to how my skin is more dry versus oily and I did have had acne issues when I was younger but my skin was sensitive most of the time so I was glad this didn’t react with my skin badly. I will keep using this until it runs out. Not sure if I want to get a full size but time will tell!

F. A. R. A. H. Brushes Medium Shading Brush in Rose Gold

Next up is my choice item from F. A. R. A. H. Brushes and glad I chose this one. Plus, I do love rose gold next to marble. I did use this when I put on my defining shade yesterday and it applied very well. Plus, it opens me up to more of their brushes as I go. I hope to get a set of this collection since anything rose gold is what I love!

M2U NYC Eye Primer in Nude

Next up is an eye primer from a brand with an interesting name and spelling. I will have you guys take a look when I link this above with the heading. I did use this with my eye look to try this out and it’s one of those that has an applicator which makes it more sanitary than putting your finger in it. It claims to have the shadows stay put all day and it did with what I used on top of this primer. It did keep all my shadows on and that’s what I love about using eye primers. They also looked pigmented on my makeup wipe after I cleaned my face off. If you guys purchase this, I suggest putting on two coats and blend it with your finger afterwards since the applicator feels a little flimsy since it feels like a mascara wand to me but it works pretty well for an $8 item. Hope to try more from this brand!

Murad Youthful Retinol Renewal Night Cream

Next up is a Murad item and it’s a night cream. Even though I don’t have any wrinkles at my age but this product does help smooth these out and plump my skin with retinal. I will check this out since I do enjoy Murad products and it is a pretty good deluxe size with what they sent me in this bag. I know the full-size item will be close to the $100 mark since I have seen products like these around $85+. Again, I wait for Murad items I enjoy to go on sale during 21 Days of Beauty if they choose them.

Tony Moley Pumpkin Retinol Eye Cream

Final item is a product from Tony Moley. I have loved this brand since it has helped my skin out. This is an eye cream made with retinol and pumpkin extract to help with the eye area. I did try it out last night since I did have some help through Be My Eyes to find this product. I didn’t smell the pumpkin but it did cool my eye area and did go to sleep with it. I will see how it goes!

Well, that is it for this glam bag! It was an interesting one since I got two retinol items. I will see how they go with my skin. I did enjoy the brush so far and will definitely use the eye shadow pallet I purchased. I can’t wait to choose my item for November! What’s next? Allure Beauty Box!

Convention Quadrant: Saturday Panels at RangerStop & Pop 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post!

RangerStop & Pop Saturday Panels

Another RangerStop & Pop post and this time it’s the panels. This time RJ and I decided to split up where I done the panels and he done the press room which he was able to find after coming back from Kroger. I took notes and will be giving you what took place. First is my disclaimer!

This post is based on the experience of the lead writer of this blog. Please respect her thoughts on each panel! Thank you!

Beast Morphers

This year it was about the Beast Morphers crew alongside Time Force. We didn’t get to go to the mini events and the conventions where they had some Ranger cast members but glad to meet them at this one!

The Beast Morphers panel was the first one in the line of panels during Saturday’s event and it was interesting to hear from one of the latest teams since they are currently on Dino Fuery. Two of the cast members did watch some of the series, Rowry was a fan of the Disney era until S. P. D. Which we now have a copy of and Jazz did watch some to help him get into the feel for the series. What they’d brought up the most was about New Zealand itself since they were away from home they had to be in a house for several months filming the show and one thing was spending Thanksgiving out there and getting to try a pastry that you could find there. They also said don’t let visiting the sites there go to waste since the place is beautiful. I have heard that it is beautiful and can see why it’s perfect to film there, heck even Lord of the Rings was filmed out there and I wouldn’t mind visiting myself for the geology parts. They did wish they told the Dino Fuery cast when they were heading out there for filming to check out the island. Another thing was how they met Austin St. John since he was part of the crossover special for that season and they didn’t get to meet before until one night while having dinner. One of them didn’t realize it was him at the table, which they thought he was a crew member, which to be fair I could mistaken anyone as a cast member without voice recognition. They did like working with him since he’s one of the O. G. Members of the cast and one of the nicest you’ll ever meet.

Time Force

Next up is the Time Force panel. This year marks twenty years for the series and that got me excited for coming to RSP in the first place. Even though they were missing Erin and Dan, getting to meet Kevin, Deborah, Mike, and Jason was still an amazing time. Still surprised Jason recognized me through the mask. RJ did say I made an impression back in the day. Knowing meeting up with Dan would be the same thing. I did remember how we ended up on the same elevator as Mercury Ranger and he recognized RJ and he introduced me to him. Back to the panel! This did start out talking about how the series came a long way and that we kept it going as fans. They did do something different for this anniversary panel by having the cast play the Newly Wed Game which did fit with the idea. Mike and Jason did team up while Kevin and Deborah teamed up and not only they were getting questions from Steve but also themselves and the audience to guess about each other. Of course, the usual favorite episode one came up and Movie Madness is definitely a big favorite since they did end up in different movie scenarios. It did end with the being on a back lot tour that was led by Reuben Langdon in the episode. You didn’t know that? New thing! It was a fun time but more things to talk about!

My Hero Academia

Since this was also a pop culture themed convention, cast members from the anime My Hero Academia were among the guests this year and was glad to attend this panel since being a fan and can’t wait for Season 5 of the anime to be dubbed. The panel started off where Elizabeth Maxwell, Leah Clarke, and Jason Leighbrecht had to draw their characters. Wishing they had Chris Sabat at this since he would have fun drawing All Might while Elizabeth drew Midnight, Leah with Toga and Jason with Dobby. This was a first for voice actor panels to see a drawing contest amongst themselves. There were questions from the audience and I got in it as well. I did have to get sighted guide to the mike and did get to ask my favorite question which is what is the funniest thing that happened in the booth? I always ask this to voice actors and if I interviewed Jason then it would be asked but he did go first with that he placed his coat on a hanger over a radiator and it caused his cards to melt. I think it was either Elizabeth or Leah who said this but one of them had to record some awkward lines and she hoped others would laugh with her but no one did. And the last one was a prank with Kent Williams, who you may have seen My Hero Aca played Compress, pranked J. Michael Tatum which dealt with a sandwich? I was the last to ask the question since it ran out of time since so many things were talked about during the panel. I did like the person who asked about their favorite line and I gave it to Leah since she did play Toga, “You’re not my type.” Still can’t wait for the next season!

Mighty Morphen

Final panel is the Mighty Morphen panel and this was also a fun one since it involved the cast to play Family Feud. I did enjoy this one since we did have pretty challenging questions including name a state with the most sports teams, which never thought Pennsylvania being one of them, who knew? There was an animal one and what do you find in a candy bar. What I found interesting was that a candy bar is also named for a candy store in Australia so some of us were confused in the audience with Kat, so I kind of figured that out since we did have a candy store here in Orlando called The Candy Bar, which was an awesome one but closed down. At least we still have M&M World. The panel did finish with two questions from fans  which Paul answered favorite monster with JDF, which made sense with how he worked with Rita at first, and someone asked about the end of Samurai to Jason Narvy. Skull appears in the final episode to get Spike and Narvy gets asked who was the mom? Narvy tried to say he wasn’t sure but guessed Ms. Applebee from the first season. Which is true, we didn’t get to find out what had happened to Skull after leaving him behind during Lost Galaxy.

Well, that completes this panel post! It was enjoyable since it was a nice change with having cast members playing games at this one. Should bring it over to the Orlando side, especially Family Feud! Next up in RSP will be the Friday panels with videos, stay tuned! While the regular posts, Glam Bag Oct. 20

Music Quadrant: Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead Tour Review

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! Another new post and it’s a bit of a detour!

Pop Punk Is Not Dead Tour Review

I felt it was time for a detour. I am still working on the Saturday Panels post but due to technology acting stupid, it got deleted and now have to re-write it. Don’t worry, I will still get that cup as scheduled. I do want to review this since of course concerts have come back and my all time favorite band was one of the many that toured. First is the disclaimer!

This post is based on thoughts and opinions and observations of the lead writer of this blog. Please respect her thoughts and opinions of what she has experienced. You have been warned!

So, last night was the night the Pop Punk Is Still Not Dead Tour with New Found Glory in Orlando. When I heard Luke, who was a guest on Nash’s WTF Is Wrong With You talking about how everyone is touring again when people were getting vaccinated, I decided to search for New Found Glory and guess what? They were coming through this month and that was last night. I purchased the tickets for me and RJ and we were both vaccinated and ready to go. He was vaccinated in the summer while I got vaccinated in March since educators were up to get the vaccine. We did have to show our vaccination cards as we were going into the House of Blues at Disney Springs and had to wear masks which we did last night. I even kept an eye out for emails from Live Nation about the mandates and we followed. We did get there in time for the doors to open and it felt good to be back at the House of Blues which has been forever. I think the last time I went was for Traverser back in 2018 and that was a long time ago. Even RJ is hoping we can start going back with friends for local shows when the pandemic is done and I agree since I missed being there with friends and getting to eat at Hop afterwards. MMM Midnight Pancakes! Anyways, this show had a bit of a switch in the line up which we did not know.

When I purchased the tickets, they said that it was supposed to be Yolo, New Found Glory Hot Mulligan and Simple Plan. Unfortunately, Simple Plan backed out and they did have a replacement with Less Than Jake. We weren’t mad because we did enjoy their music. My first time hearing Less Than Jake was the Digimon Movie Soundtrack with “My Best Friends Are Metal Heads.” I still remember that scene to this day. Back to the show, I do have to say out of honestly and agree with RJ, Yolo and Hot Mulligan felt that their bass was turned up beyond eleven! I almost fell off my stool with Yolo, sorry if I got the name wrong since I hardly remembered it. I haven’t really listen to mainstream radio these days since I have Pandora, Band Camp, and my music library on my phone. I also felt that it was hard for me to understand Hot Mulligan since the lead singer was scream singing most of the time. I love a good scream band but if they’re really good and just not have the bass up so loud. I do have to say that Yolo, sorry again, was good during “Vicious Love” though, I think I prefer her over Haley from Paramore a little more. It did get better when Less Than Jake hit the stage since we were excited about them. I put them as one of my top favorite ska bands next to Ore Ska Band from Japan. Their set was a mix of old and new and it brought up when I used to download music from back in the day since I had to rely on my dad to buy my music if I wanted the full album, I remembered getting some of the older songs and “Gainesville Rock City” was one of them actually. I was glad to see these guys and it was good to bring them on since they’re a Florida band that’s still going strong.

Finally, New Found Glory was the headliner for this one and man it was amazing! I remembered going to Warped Tour 2007 and they were great back then. I’ve been a fan since 2001 and I remembered hearing their song “Hit or Miss” for a short while. I didn’t know who they were until my brother visited and asked me if I heard of them and said, “No.” This was when Camelot Music existed and there was in the mall down the road from us and he picked up the self-titled and played the song and realized who they were and burned some of their songs and then got a copy of the album for myself a year and half later and then continued from there. I currently have the ten year anniversary edition of the self-titled, alongside Sticks & Stones, Catalyst, Resurrection, both From the Screen to Your Stereo Volumes 2 and 3, and their latest, Forever & Forever X Infinity on my phone and I listened it on shuffle, oh right, their live album as well on my phone and was glad I did and sang along with almost all of their songs. What do I mean by this? Well, they performed “Let It “Go” from their From the Screen to Your Stereo 3 and well, Jordan comes on dressed as Elsa with the wig and the most sparkly dress ever and a cast on his leg. Apparently, while touring in Pennsylvania, he broke his foot but didn’t cancel any performances so he performed the best he could with a cast covered in LEDs and he was dedicated due to all of the fans. I did sing the many other songs they’ve done like “Understatement,” “All Downhill From Here,” and so much more. My throat is still recovering from all the singing but it was worth it! They were going to do another performance of the self-titled album but only had the tickets for last night. I did forget to mention, during the performance they did perform one song they never had before and that was “Never Snows in Florida” from their first album, “Nothing Gold Can Stay and it sounded amazing live. Great to hear that one. So, enough gushing!

Rating: 3.5 Shooting Star Paws Out of 5!

I did take some points off for the first two acts since they were too loud with their bass. I’m sorry but the bass should not be that loud unless you’re in the Bass Zone at Electric Daisy Carnival and don’t have to fly off my stool while doing it either. Less Than Jake and New Found Glory were our favorite parts since they can put on a show. RJ did get confused by the Backstreet Boys being played as NFG was coming on but they did use it as a pre-cursor to the carnival intro they used since that was the theme they used for the Catalyst album. I think they did the Backstreet Boys with “Backstreet’s Back” because they were saying they have returned to Orlando and glad they have since it took me years to see them again after Warped Tour. Not only that, wishing I could have given Jordan a hug for the pain he went through with his foot since that was painful I bet and he mentioned that he loves to jump a lot during shows, heck one picture in the booklet on self-titled has him and the guitarists jumping. I did remember when I did have eye sight that it was true since during the live show in London which I have a DVD of for one Christmas that he did jump a lot.

Well, that is the end of this review, I am glad I did catch New Found Glory after so long and loved their music ever since I was a teen. It felt good to hear their music live again and getting to see them at the House of Blues was a great relief since it’s been a long time since we’ve been at a concert there. We tend to catch our local band buddies there but it was our first for a major show and the last real major show, which I know I mentioned Warped Tour but realized it was actually Rise Against Mac k in 2012 when they toured with A Day to Remember and Manzinger, which I also remembered I did get into Rise Against all thanks to the bonus CD that came with my copy of Sticks & Stones when they had the song “The Angel You Are” on that CD. Who knew? Not sure if we will catch Simple Plan another tour in the future but I still need to find a way of catching Red Jumpsuit Apparatus since they’re touring with the tenth anniversary of their first album. Not only that we did miss their set during Warped Tour that year. That will be another time. So, stay tuned guys for the Saturday Panels post!

Subscription Satellite: Glam Bag Plus October 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe. I am back with a new post!

Glam Bag Plus October 2021

It is time for my Glam Bag Plus! They rose the price on both GB Plus and Glam Bag since they are adding more luxury brands to these bags which is a nice change. This is $28 a month and you get five full-size items from prestige to indie brands. You can get a range from hair care all the way to perfumes and even beauty tools. Plus, you get to choose three out of the five items in this bag every month. Let’s see what I got, as in what I chose and what are the items Ipsy chose.

Goldfaden MD RX Daily Nutrient Mist

First up is a mist from Goldfaden MD. I think I have tried these guys through this subscription before or maybe not? I know I have seen them floating around on the choices part for the original Glam Bag. This is a mist that is sup[posed to help dull, tired skin and protect it from pollution and blue light. Also, it can be used as a setting spray for foundation. There are times where my skin does get tired from a long day of work and tend to shower after a long day and may have to try this out even after showering. I will see how this works out with my sensitive skin since I have to be careful with some ingredients. This retails for $48.

Doucce Blush Powder Pallet

Next up is an item from Doucce. The first time I tried this brand was an eyeliner pencil a long time ago and using it in my many pencil liners to this day. Years later I’ve been enjoying them and this is a blush pallet. This comes with six shades where it’s three highlighters and three blushes in one pallet. I can’t wait to use this since I do love blush and powder seems to work a little bit better for myself. I will see how this goes and blends since I did mention in the makeup review when it came to my travel makeup that I have some trouble with some makeup products blending. Let’s see if these blend. This pallet retails for $55.

MOTD Gold Goddess Face Brush Set

Next up is one of the first items I picked and they are the Gold Goddess Face Brush Set from MOTD. These brushes are three face brushes that can be used with cream and powder products and can be used to contour, bronze, and highlight. I may use one for blush since it would be easiest for me that way. I did like the eye brushes I got from these guys and glad to try some face ones. These retail for $30.

Aricelli Eyeliner Duo in Black and Rose Gold with Sharpener

Next up is another item I picked and this time from Ariceli. These pencils have a gel formula that glides on like butter. The black one is matte while the rose gold is shimmery. What got me to choose this set is due to the rose gold since that is my favorite metal color. It also comes with a sharpener which makes it handier. I know I will use the rose gold one with a few looks I have coming up. These retail for $37.

Tokyo Milk French Kiss Perfume

Final item is the Tokyo Milk Perfume in French Kiss. When I saw this as a choice I had to get this one since I love perfumes, especially the ones that come in subscription boxes due to them being more unique. This is a blend of mandarin, a type of rose, and some earth to it which gives a blend of romance and felinity. I actually smell more of a sweet scent to this than the earthy notes when I sprayed it on my wrist when I got this bag today. Still, it is really a nice scent  even as it goes through the day. I may have to explore more of these scents since I do love newer perfumes. This retails for $38.

This completes my Glam Bag Plus! I am liking this more than my actual Glam Bag because that was confusing me with two of the choices and I will talk about it when that arrives. I will definitely enjoy the perfume the most since it’s unique and I I am enjoying it so far. I did try the spray briefly and it is powerful with the spray and have to be careful with that. I will see how the blush pallet goes since there are times where my blush seems to go nuts lately. Next up will be the Saturday panels from RangerStop & Pop this year.

Beauty Quadrant: Travel MakeUp Review

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe. I am back with a new post!

Makeup I Used in Atlanta Review

It’s been a while since I’ve done a true makeup review on here and I will be doing it on some of the items I took with me to Atlanta. I felt that August was all about purchasing items to use that were mini and easier makeup since doing a full face can take an hour. I did take some of my items from some of my boxes and past Ulta makeup bag gifts to use while on the trip. So, let’s see what I used but first…

This review is based on thoughts and opinions on the products used during the trip. Please respect the thoughts and opinions of the writer.

Sonya Kashuk Makeup Bag Travel Set

First off is the makeup bags I took with me. I realized I did not unpack my makeup bags from Hot Topic since those were one of the first items I packed during the move. I didn’t find the box that they were in now, but I know they’re somewhere in the apartment but did get some replacements for the trip. I got a set from Sonya Kashuk that contains four makeup bags. One huge one to carry the toiletries, one large one for my makeup items, a medium-size one to carry my shower caps and my headband for makeup, and a small one for my brushes and sponge. It was a good thing to carry since I was relying on travel-size items due to TSA regulations and we were just staying for three nights at the Westton Buckhead and having something to use for things like my floss picks, sunscreen and other things helped even with the nesting idea. I was glad to pick this up!

Coppertone Sport Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 Lotion

I never thought I would review sunscreen, but I’ve been wearing it a lot more lately due to how much harsher the sun has been, and I figured if we’re going to be outdoors in the hot Atlanta heat I should be protected. I found this was less greasy than the Blue Lizard one I have been using here at home and I remembered Coppertone being a great brand when it comes to sunscreens in general. I may have to use this when I travel or even at home if I haven’t gotten anything in my subscriptions. I will use this more.

HEMPZ Body Lotion in Jasmine and Rose

Next up is a product from HEMPZ and it’s their travel size lotion in Jasmine and Rose. While looking around for travel size items on Ulta, I decided to get a lotion since Bath & Body Works didn’t have much in travel size lotions so went to Ulta when my birthday discount was given. I browsed through the HEMPZ page and saw this lotion and noticed it was also new. This scent is sweet and earthy at the same time, and it did give my legs and ankles the much-needed moisture after a long day of walking, and I was wearing very hugging shorts under my skirts during the weekend, so it was great to put it on my thighs. I also used it on my arms and good thing is that my skin is not sensitive to this formula since it does include Hemp Seed Oil. If you haven’t tried out HEPZ, I highly recommend these guys. One thing I do not like I do admit is that some of the lotions are sometimes hard to squeeze out due to how thick they can be in consistency. Watch out for that. I will get these travel size lotions whenever I travel to other conventions to keep my skin moist after a hard day of press.

Soap & Glory Hand Food Lotion

Next up is a hand lotion from Soap & Glory. I never tried anything from this brand until now. I heard good things about them and figured with all the hand washing and sanitizer after shaking hands, which included guests which they still did, also being sight guided, my hands need nourishment. This did feel good from what I’ve used during the weekend. I didn’t use it much due to being always on the go between panels, but I did carry a tube in my makeup bag in my backpack since it is a good size for that. Plus, I did carry an extra tube since Ulta did offer a buy one and get one discounted when I purchased these. I may get these again or use something else, who knows.

Crave Facial Cleanser

After a long day of panels and a long night’s sleep, my skin needed some washing and I decided to get this. I did enjoy this because it didn’t cause my skin any issues during the trip. I love to listen to my skin and glad that this helped with that. I did use it up when I got home so I wouldn’t let it go to waste. I will get again for trips unless if Ulta doesn’t carry it anymore.

Ulta Unicorn Loofa

This was not my favorite product even though it was cute! I love unicorns but this was one thing I did not like much. I kind of felt like I had to use more body wash to give me a good lather for my skin. I was using travel size body washes from Bath & Body Works but felt that this item should have been made better. After the trip, I did get better loofas from Amazon and will see how they go.

Winkey Lux Brow Pencil

I did like this product! I did use this during the trip to give, my brows the sharpest look and glad I took it with me since I did have my NYX Pomade pencil in Chocolate just in case if they didn’t stay put.

Milani Eye Primer

I thought this item was okay. How so? I am not sure if it was due to the product itself or if I am cleaning too close to comfort, but my shadow didn’t cover my entire eyes and didn’t blend well. RJ did help me to have my shadow blend better to give off a defused look to help me with blending. I did use it up when I got home, and it did the same thing and won’t be purchasing this again. I love Milani’s makeup, but this was not a good one in my book.

Urban Decay 24/7 Shadow in Charge

I did enjoy this shadow though. It did blend well despite the patchiness from the primer. RJ did use the shadow to help me get it back on my lids and did give it a defused effect.

Fenty Mascara

I got this in my GB X and glad to take it with me. My lashes did feel great with this on, and it didn’t aggravate my eyes during the convention. I highly recommend this mascara and will use this as time goes on!

Ulta Foundation Stick in Light M<medium Neutral

Final item I will be talking about is the Ulta Foundation stick in Light Medium Neutral. I figured since I already talked about using the pressed powder from Tarte years ago, but this is something new. I did have the Foundation Primer from Ulta as well that I had a sample from a makeup bag gift I got a year or so ago and not sure if it was due to the primer or the foundation stick, but RJ saw it did not blend. It just stuck like with the blush and bronzer stick I had on me. I took the Trestique Bronzer Stick and the Eevee Blush Stick from No Make No Life and one of my Colour Pop Highlighter sticks. RJ had to use my sponge to blend everything together even with the powder on top. I felt like this stick was okay or maybe it was the primer. I will keep on trying to use it up so it won’t go bad before the next convention since it looks like it won’t be until next year, we will head out for another one. I will see how this goes on my NYX Marshmallow Primer.

That is, it for this review. I know it was long, but I did have a lot of items on me. I figured to just focus on the items that were used and what I thought. Next up will be the panels I went and took notes on. Also, talk about the items from my subscriptions on top of it. Stay tuned! Ma

Subscription Satelite: Glam Bag Plus September 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with another post!

Ipsy GB Plus September 2021

The final bag is my Glam Bag Plus! I’m glad to get this last and it seems to be slightly better than my Glam Bag. This is going to be $28 a month starting next month and you get five full-size prestige to luxury brands in the drawstring bag. You also get to select three out of the five items on top of it. Let’s see what I got this month!

Il Makiage Color Boss Quad in Make Moods

First up is another item from Il Makiage and it’s from their Color Boss Squad line and this time it’s an eye shadow quad. I remembered getting full-size singles from this brand and now I have a full-size pallet. I wished they described the shades in this since it only talked about how to apply on the page since you can go either wet or dry. I will use these since I already enjoy them and glad to have them in a quad.

Murad Clarifying Oil-Free Water Gel

Murad’s back! Back again! I love this brand even if I must wait until it’s on sale during 21 Days of Beauty, which I will have a haul for that and in Hot Cash, stay tuned for those! This product is a moisturizer that helps acne prone skin and doesn’t cause pores to clog. What I like about this brand is that it’s amazing for sensitive skin. This is a day and night moisturizer which I can’t wait to use it. I am using two different moisturizers for day and night.

Nabla Shine Theory Lip Gloss in Renaissance

Next up is a lip gloss from Nabla Cosmetics. I never tried these guys until I got three face products from them through Ulta recently. I decided why not try out their lip products. This is a lightweight formula that is not sticky nor gooey. Also, it’s a champagne shade that gives the lips a wet look. I was excited about this one since I heard good things about this brand through YouTube. So, essentially, yes, I had a YouTube made me pick it moment. I will be enjoying this!

Pretty Woman Fall Trio Polish Set

My second item I picked was from Pretty Woman and I had a hard time choosing among the items in the first group until I finally decided this. I love nail polish and this is a trio of fall colors. The shades are a beige shimmer, a dark honey, and a burgundy in this set. At first, I didn’t want to pick due to not always wearing the beige and honey colors but I don’t mind trying new items. I will report back if I like these shades. I have tried this brand before and they do claim they are chip resistant but not on my hands!

Shades by Shan Bronzer in Walnut

My final item is a bronzer from Shades by Shan! I do enjoy bronzers, especially the lighter colors. This is an easy to blend bronzer that is supposed not to look cakey. I will use this to try out something new. Hoping it does blend in well!

That’s all for this post! I’m glad to try new things in my bag and happy to have Murad again since I love their skin care items. The Il Makiage product makes me super happy since I have a quad to play with. I will use the lip gloss on the weekends. Next up, will be my review on the makeup I used during RangerStop & Pop. Stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: Ipsy Glam Bag September 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post!

Ipsy Glam Bag September 2021

My Glam Bag had arrived a day or two after my Allure Beauty Box. This bag comes with five deluxe samples and sometimes full-size items and costs $13 a month. Let’s see what I got this month!

BRTC Vitamin B Velvet Mask and Vitamin A Velvet Mask

First up are a pair of sheet masks! I love sheet masks and glad to get these in my bag since it’s been a long time since I got sheet masks! These masks have Vitamin B5 which this one helps with sensitivity while the other with Vitamin A helps with moisture. I have to say is that I am glad I got these this month since my skin has been showing some sensitivity and dryness lately. I think it’s due to the weather since it’s been super wet lately and humid, so I will be using these to see how they help.

Ciate London Wonder Wink Mascara

Next up is a mascara from Ciate London and it’s their Wonder Wink mascara. This mascara does the usual volumizing, curling, lengthening, and apparently defining the lashes. Also, this is great for all types of lashes, even the stubby ones. I can’t wait to use this and see how well it keeps my lashes long and voluminous.

Iby Beauty Carry on Two Face Pallet in Bon Voyage and Auberge

Next up is a product that I did get the full product through Offers but I got this duo in my bag before buying the item. This duo contains a rose gold and a mauve shadow that also is good for the lids with rose hemp oil. I have used products from IBY Beauty for a while and even purchased their pallets through Ipsy and glad to get these to use if I want to do a two-shadow look or just break into the full-size pallet since that comes with nine shadows and fave products. I will see

Cokie Cosmetics be Bright Illuminous Concealer in Medium Beige

Next up is a concealer from Cokie in Medium Beige. I think this is a bit dark so I may use it as eye primer instead. I did change my profile back to Light for my skin tone since they don’t have Light Medium as a choice. This item is supposed to be used to cover up dark spots and blemishes and the luminous elements are supposed to help with the blending and hiding. Again, I feel this is a bit dark so I will be using this for eye primer. Id di used to use foundation and CC Creams for that but will see how this goes since those were hard to put shadow on top.

SLMiss Glam M 15 Marble Blending Brush

Final item is my choice and it is from SLMiss Glam I love these brushes because not only they are pretty but I do love the feel of them on my eyes and face. This one is a blending brush for the eyes and glad to get this one since I do love marble patterns. It is very soft so I will make sure it will be put to good use.

So, that completes my bag! At first, I thought it was kind of okay but now looking at the items I am really liking the choices with the other items. I did change my profile so will see what October brings. I will try the face masks and the shadows for the most part. I will have to see how well the mascara works. Next up will be GB Plus! So, stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: Allure Beauty Box September 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe. I am back with a beauty box!

Allure Beauty Box September 2021

It’s time for the Allure Beauty Box for this month! Don’t worry, no crappy blush serums this time with how horrible my makeup looked that time. This box contains six items for $23 that is based on brands that get featured in Allure Magazine. Let’s see what I got this month!

Sunday Riley Lighthearted SPF 30 Sunscreen

First up is a product from Sunday Riley, this is the first sunscreen they have developed and it’s a pink toned one that goes on sheer without being chalky. The editors at Allure tried it on different skin tones and it is proven to be sheer. I must try this out for myself since I am getting into more sunscreens, especially mineral ones. I will be writing a review on what I used during Ranger Stop, which includes sunscreen so stay tuned for that. I will have to see how this feels. This retails for $35.

Raj Sha Liquid Gold Tonic

Next up is a product from a brand I’ve never heard of and glad to try something new. This is a toner that exfoliates the skin and brightens it up while getting that dead skin off. It contains 5% glycolic acid and should be used every other day. I will have to try this since I do sometimes feel a little dried out and need some brightening during the week. I must use this when I don’t use my Murad exfoliating scrub. This retails for $50.

Acure Radically Renewal Serum

The name is longer but I understand this is a serum from Acure, which is great to get a full-size of. It claims to help with fine lines since it contains retinol and turmeric. I have to see how this one goes because my skin can get sensitive at times. I am using the facial oil from my Glam Bag X that also has tomeryck as well and so far, it’s been going well. Let’s see how this one goes. This retails for $19.99.

Neat Dream Away Mineral Bath Salt

Next up is a single dose pack of bath salts that is perfect for a week of standing on my feet waiting for my ride home from work. I also wished I had these after RangerStop. This envelope has salts made with lavender and eucalyptus to make it a dreamy bath. I will have to try these out since my body does ache after waiting for my ride sometimes and will enjoy.

Anastacia Liquid Lipstick in Trust Issues

Last item is from Anastacia Beverly Hills and it’s their liquid lipstick. I never owned anything from this brand because I feel that it is overhyped. I did want to get the Jackie Eina pallet but it sold out through Ipsy apparently when they had it. This is a mulberry shade that stays put and is worn comfortably, which I know this will be put to the test since I do tend to eat a lot of snacks during the day. As well as drinking a lot of water on top of it. Let’s see how this goes!

This box was not too bad since I do love getting skin care items a lot and with the fall coming through, it does sometimes cool down here in town. I wished I had the bath salts after our trip because my feet were killing me. No lie, when I got out of bed that Monday hoping to go to work, my ankles were hurting and I could not move. Therefore, by next year I will be in better walking shape. The serum and the toner are something I will use, especially the tonic on days I won’t use my Murad scrub. I will see how the items go. I will write a review on what I thought I tried so far from each box next month! In the meantime, next up is my Ipsy Glam Bag for this month!

Convention Quadrant: RangerStop & Pop 2021 Review

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! It’s time for our convention review!

RangerStop & Pop 2021

So, last month RJ and I traveled to Atlanta for RangerStop & Pop 2021 and it was amazing! It was our first time doing an out of state convention since it was a goal to do one after our first start at MetroCon back in 2013. Besides the convention, I will also be talking about the trip and some of the places we ate at to give the full experience. But first is our disclaimer!

This review is based on thoughts and observations from the lead writer and her co-producer. Please respect their thoughts and opinions since they have gone through a lot through this trip.

Flight and Arrival

First is our flight! Instead of taking a road trip we decided to fly and it was easier with that. I booked with Delta since Southwest was not flying out of Daytona and American Airlines was adding an extra stop which cost extra to book. Glad Delta had a straight shot and it was an easy flight. The pilot did help me onto the plane since I did have my cane in hand. It was heartwarming to see the plane take off from the airport and heading north. When we arrived, that was when it was a bit rough. I did book a car on Priceline but when we got there and hoping to pay for the car at the desk, they did not mention a deposit had to be paid at the desk either. So, RJ did have his AAA discount and got a car from Hertz at last minute. So, we didn’t get any penalties for not getting and paying for the car from Dollar Rent a Car. I would say go with Hertz or Enterprise if you’re renting. I did check into the hotel over the Marriot to make sure we didn’t get there in time. At least we did and just spent all of Thursday evening in our hotel room. Which hotel is next!

The Weston Buckhead was nice to stay at and we did wipe it down when we got to our room with anti-bacterial wipes to add some more cleanliness. What was interesting is that the hotel also had subterranean parking in the garage since there are times where parking can be a problem. I remembered this being an added issue at the World Center in Orlando during 2018’s Holiday Matsuri. Unfortunately, Florida is swamp land all over so that can’t be something to do but at least we had an easier time finding parking spots throughout the weekend, even near the elevators leading to the lobby area. The convention did take place on two levels for panels and the vendor room and press room which made it very convenient. Besides the convenience of the convention, the hotel was also surrounded by local restaurants and stores like Target, Kroger, even two malls. It made it easier for getting food delivered from local places. I did like how Uber Eats and Marriot did have a deal where you can get extra points for ordering take out. We did go out to a few places for food and will mention that next!!

Like I said, there were a lot of local places around the area. It sure beats driving to different parts of town that are father away. We did get water from Kroger nearby but did get food from a few places. We did get food delivered from Corner Bakery and Farm Burger. The Corner Bakery had usual breakfast items such as pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, and I even ordered a cookie to snack on later Saturday. It was good! With Farm Burger, on the other hand, RJ did not like how the menu didn’t give that many choices like the extension of Culver’s but it did have things we tend to go for at some places here in Daytona. I did have a Create Your Own Beyond Burger which was really tasty. RJ did have the double bacon burger which he did enjoy. We did split an order of fries and onion rings. We did enjoy the onion rings and they were crunchy in a good way instead of soggy. For Sunday’s breakfast was good since we had DaVinci’s Doughnuts which were like Doug’s Donuts where they do gourmet and regular donuts. They also serve coffee. The donuts were small but filled you up after a few. We did have a nine pack to split. I did enjoy the maple and bacon one, cannoli, salted caramel, and forgot one more I had but they were good. I know we will have them again whenever we go back. And the best place I saved for last. As you probably know, RJ and I love Japanese food and two years ago our favorite place in Orlando, Aki, shut down due to their location being sold and had to close for good. It was very sentimental to us both and it was our all-time favorite authentic place, even when they served their food at the Japanese festival there. The place we found in Atlanta Friday night was Rousan’s. It was close to the hotel and man it was tasty! We ordered the Rock & Roll sushi, a chicken skewer alongside a pork one, and some vegetable tempura and Takoyaki. For anyone new to Japanese food, they are octopi’s dumplings that are breaded with bonito flakes and sauces. You can get a snack pack in Japan with these dumplings that I saw in one video. We did order our favorites we loved at Aki, RJ had the pork curry while I had the katsu don which is a rice dish with pork, scrambled eggs, and onions with sauce. They got it right since most places hardly do. The place that was supposed to replace Aki did their katsu don with tempura vegetables and pork and rice, while another place had their stuff separated and the rice in one bowl. Nope! Rousan’s did theirs the traditional way and should be that way as well. I hope we do get to go back and have more food from this place because they really hit the heart with their delicious food! I did post on Facebook that Atlanta has spoiled us with their local places. Kroger did have pretty good food like subs and chicken plates as well.

Guests & Vendor Room

The vendor room was good at this version of RangerStop. I felt I got more items during this one and had more to look forward to and find. I was not able to get any itaa bag items as I hoped but did find a few things like new coffee mugs to have my morning coffee in before heading for work during the week. We did find a stand that sold seasons of Power Rangers and we did pick up SPD, Lost Galaxy, and Wild Force. RJ was hoping to find Beast Morphers since some of the rangers were guests from that season. I was glad to get my paws on Wild Force since Netflix no longer had it and was sad not able to see it before it was taken off. Now I get to finish up the series and get it signed by the cast whenever they get invited back for either Atlanta or Orlando. The guests were amazing throughout the weekend and placed around the vendor room like in Orlando. We were able to meet the Time Force cast. Well, day one was when we met Kevin who played Trip, Deborah who played Katie, and Michael who played Lucas on the show. I did get to meet Jason Fondt on my own since RJ was busy in the press room. Unfortunately, Erin Cahill and Dan Southworth were not able to make it but hoping to meet them at a future RangerStops. We did also bring something for one of the anime guests which happened to be GetBackers for Jason Leigh Brecht to sign. I was deciding what to bring him after seeing him on the list of guests appearing and remembered he was on GetBackers as Ban. I did find the FullMetal Alchemist movie in the same box since we haven’t unpacked all the anime DVDs from the move. I figured Jason hadn’t signed GetBackers and I was right, he was surprised to see it and told Elizabeth Maxwell and Leah Clarke that it was one of his first works. We did talk with other guests including Johnny Yong Bosh and we did have a run in with Paul Schrier after being in the press room on Friday and ended up on the same elevator as Mercury Ranger Friday after dinner. We did visit Artists Alley and we will be sharing links from their tables so you can check them out. Just go down below. If you’re a screen reader user, you will be able to get to the Artist Links heading at the end of this post!

Like with Orlando, there were panels but on Friday and Saturday since we had to leave early Sunday get the rental car back. We did get video of panels but I do have a separate post about some of the panels I took notes on Saturday. I didn’t want to try recording anything after having focus issues years ago. RJ did get some press videos so wait for those videos when they are uploaded onto our YouTube. I did like how there was a voice actors panel since they were also including actors from My Hero Academia. It felt good to attend panels again after a year and a half without attending conventions. Just follow us on Twitter @ Nerdy Shique for the latest posts.

Verdict: Convention Accomplished!

This convention felt a breath of fresh air after being without conventions for over a year. I was glad we got the opportunity to do press at an out of state convention. It gave us a new environment to explore. I will do a post on things we have learned from our travels to Atlanta to help us when we come back and go to future conventions. We do have goals to attend OtaKon in Maryland and Anime Boston in Massachusetts. Heck, if we get to go, Canada for Con Bravo and TennoCon.I do have to give it to the volunteers because this was another convention that I had sighted guide. I remembered back at the Orlando version, some of the volunteers did help me get around the area since it’s hard to see the line ropes and where panels are located. Seeing that volunteers took the extra few minutes to give me sighted guide helped a lot. I wished most other conventions would give their time to do that. Thank you RangerStop for that and even Omni who also did that as well. The convention was also set up very well with being on two different levels for panels and vendors which made it easier to find and go where needed to be. Plus, It was more spacious in the halls than the Wyndham in my opinion. I hope we can get another opportunity to do another convention away from home. Heck, I still want to head back to MetroCon in Tampa. I do have one thing to say about improvements.

Needs for Improvement

Not all conventions are perfect but the only thing I have a bit of a gripe is that the websites for Orlando and Atlanta are hard to navigate with access software and they need to be worked on. Before this convention, I took a course through American Printing House for the Blind on how to create accessible documents. If you haven’t noticed but I have used what I learned to make the posts easier to navigate and read here even when you use access software. One thing the course does stress is the creation of headings which makes navigation easy. In Jaws and NVDA, we have the Headings and Links lists where a list compiles headings and links into an easy to navigate area to go from one heading to the next and the same with links. I notice how my screen reader tends to go to the bottom headings instead of the center of the website if I need to look at something. Another thing too is that when looking at the guests there were links that didn’t show their names but some letters and a few numbers next to their pictures. I can’t see photos but did get taken to their IMDB page. The only person who had their name next to their photo was Karen Ashley except that was not a clickable link. I would say it would be easy to have Guests as a heading and their names as clickable links for both sides of the websites. Best to create these things in word and then transfer over to the website creation. I did try contacting the team but didn’t get an answer, so hoping anyone on staff that is reading this, I am willing to talk about making the website accessible. Especially when accessing the events schedule even with he QR codes that were embedded on the badges, which that is another thing that needs improvement because not everyone’s devices could access them. RJ’s phone was able to access the schedule just fine when my phone couldn’t when it is an I Phone 12. I did meet with one of the other people who were promoting their convention in Artists Alley that he had issues also scanning the QR code. Not sure if it was device specific but it should be able to be scanned by any device, tablet or phone even with the latest software. Not sure how the event schedule was formatted but that is another thing that should be accessible to screen reading software. Again, I am available for a talk about accessibility!

I did mention that we dropped by Artists alley and with the return of cinventions, we want to include the artists that appeared at this convention so we can help them in being promoted. This also includes conventions that also promote themselves in the artists area as well. So, check these guys out with their links down below!

What We Learned From Traveling to Atlanta

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post.

What We Learned from Traveling to Atlanta

I am still writing the RangerStop & Pop review, must add the links for the artists that appeared at the convention, so I decided to do this one as a buffer before that one. So, it was our first time traveling to a new state and city and we did learn some things and wanted to share with you guys in case if you need additional tips and might want to hit a convention out of your own state or country if you haven’t already. Let’s see what we got!

Create a Check List!

First up is creating a check list. During the packing process, I felt like I was packing all I needed and same with RJ but day of the flight we realized we left some items. We left our name tags I had created last year thinking we would cover press at one convention but never got that chance, so we finally got it and left them behind. RJ left his electric toothbrush and toothpaste which electric toothbrush! Also, realized he left his copy of Devil May Cry 5 so he could have it signed by Johnny Yong Bosh. I am thinking for now on I will have a checklist to make sure we packed everything for an out of state or inside Florida convention. Ever since we became a full-on website, we can’t forget the important items to use for our press ventures.

Doesn’t Hurt to Pay for Extra Room

What do I mean by this? Well, we had a bit of a small space when we got on the plane and of course had double beds at the hotel when it was just the two of us. I didn’t know that Comfort Plus on the plane meant we would be a part of First Class and would have more space to stretch our legs and arms due to how compact our seats were. I did try to get aisle seats for RJ, worked for the trip going but not the one back. I did feel some claustrophobia when we got into the airport after landing in Atlanta. So, we will be looking into First Class next time. While the hotel room, we did remember how we did have that sweet King Size during Holiday Matsuri 2018 and it was perfect. It looked like a bit extra but should’ve upgraded after seeing that option but felt more at budget. I guess I will investigate the king beds if it’s just us for now on.

Just Rent a Car in Person

So, all thanks to Nightly News, I figured to rent a car in advance due to how much people are starting to travel again and heard how rental cars would be scarce and expensive to rent. So, I downloaded Priceline and hoped to get a good deal and pay at the counter. What we thought was a good deal ended up having a deposit we were not expecting. So, RJ had to rent from Hertz and glad he had his AAA discount! Good thing that it was not penalized that we didn’t pick up the car in the end. For now, on, we are either renting in person when we get there or if we are placing a reservation then I will make sure I have the AAA discount code with RJ since he is driving the vehicle and I can’t of course! I may use Priceline for airline deals instead.

Get In Shape Prior to Travel

This is best for conventions since you will be on your feet most of the day or walking marathons all over an airport. I am going to focus on this since I was bent out of shape and even my feet were killing me and had to miss a day of work because I couldn’t walk. I used to be in good shape and able to walk all over just fine but after not being able to go to the gym after graduating years ago and of course the pandemic, I lost the ability to be on my feet very well even with this convention. I am always used to sitting at a desk all day and that didn’t help, and my watch even cried at me on Sunday after having a greasy burger for a high heart rate, that is why I will be doing my best to prepare myself for the next convention by being able to move and take the stand alerts more seriously. Once the gyms start opening again, we will be heading there again.

Add Something to Suitcase for Distinction!

What I mean by this is that is that everyone can have the same suitcase. A year ago, I had to replace my suitcases, yes, I had more than one due to my mom giving me the set of suitcases we used on the cruise back in 2007 and I used them and wrecked them. Our buddy Kristen even had a moment where the bar where you hold when pulling the suitcase broke during one convention, Holiday Matsuri by the way, and they left the bar in the parking garage. When we passed by it, RJ asked me if I want it back and said no and got rid of the suitcase. The final one broke after going to RangerStop 2019 in Orlando and decided it was time to buy a new suitcase. I got myself a Walmart card and got myself a purple rolling suitcase and was not expecting that most people would go for the same! Even Molly Berk also gets different colored ones for her mom to spot wherever they land. Apparently, more people had purple suitcases to do the same thing since everyone would have the same black cases and RJ saw other purple suitcases besides mine and found it after twenty minutes. I will be putting a Sanrio luggage tag on mine so it would be more distinct due to how bright it would be against my suitcase. Putting a distinct mark would help in finding the luggage since the tags they put are hard to find and sometimes the suitcase can fall in a different angle down the belt.

Double Check Battery Charger Packs

During the trip, RJ’s big battery charger ended up being broken. This tends to happen since I’ve noticed how my little Pikachu charger was no longer working when it came to charging my I Phone and didn’t want to go and test that on my lovely 12. It’s best to check and see if the battery pack is working fine before you travel and holding a charge while something is plugged in because parts do wear out over time and would help from waiting until you have some free time during the convention to go to Target and get one, which we felt we had hardly any. Which that grins me to the next tip.

Check Shipt Early On for Business Hours!

When we got to our hotel, we were exhausted from the flight and getting the rental did take a lot of time due to getting the long line and decided to see about getting items delivered the first night since we didn’t want to hit any stores now. I tried Shipt with Target and saw I was too late and same with other places. If we go anywhere and I need to use Shipt, I will make sure I do it early enough and get it delivered during dinner if we order in.

Well, that is it for this post now! This was our first trip out of state and who knows where it will lead us next with other conventions. We do have other goals to hit conventions in other parts of the states and even Canada but don’t mind the ones here in the Southeast even more in the

Atlanta. Next would be our review on RangerStop & Pop as a whole, still working on getting the links and doing my accessibility skills for anyone who is using a screen reader. Just follow us on Twitter @ Nerdy Shique for the latest updates! Until next time!
