Our One Day At RangerStop 2022

One Day Experience At RangerStop

Our One Day Experience at RangerStop 2022

As you saw with the title, or at least seen on our Twitter, we only attended RangerStop for one day. Yes, we were excited for the entire weekend, as in me and RJ were supposed to spend Thursday through Monday in Orlando for a big weekend to not only refresh ourselves from work but also me from school except it got screwed up.

What Happened?

Well, if you know that June, well the end of May through the end of November is the Atlantic Hurricane Season and every year it is either bad where we have more storms coming to the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean or hardly anything at all if we’re not in the direct path. Lately, all thanks to Climate Change, it does exist people, the storms have become more monstrous in size and destruction. If you remembered how Florida got hit by Charley, Francis, and Jean back in 2004? This year was a bit more than that and living in Daytona Beach is not the best for a season like we had this year. We got hit by Ian towards the beginning of October and it was a direct one and we had hardly anything from it except no internet for a day in our area. We live in a flood zone near a bay and somehow the ground got super saturated which made Nicole more fierce. When we heard Nicole was heading our way, I was contacting the people at RangerStop if it was going to happen still since one of the direct areas was Orlando. We had reassurance it was still happening. We even had our press kit packet ready for the weekend to pick up, and our reservation was still on the Hilton Honors app. I was already packed, RJ had some stuff to pack and we were finishing that Thursday morning once the storm had subsided.

Thursday morning started off like normal and I grabbed a few items for my suitcase since I bought a set this time due to how we lost our suitcases during our transfer when Tobi moved in. While Tobi was going to stay to take care of things, RJ grabbed his stuff for his suitcase and went to the bathroom while I headed for the kitchen for some coffee and I stepped in a puddle. I asked why there was water in the apartment and RJ saw it coming from our front door and then ran to the sliding door and saw it coming from there too, then our bedroom where it was coming in through the base boards and ran to Tobi and woke him up to tell him we were flooding. We acted quickly to get electronics from the floor, which were our surge protectors. Tobi did almost get electrocuted where one of his connections to his monitors was sizzling and about to spark. I remembered where people told us to leave a day early, if we had done that we would not have had a home and Tobi would have died from electric shock in the water and fire. So, yeah, we had to cancel the hotel reservation because we couldn’t make it due to what took place that morning. Even RJ’s cars along with other residents; cars got flooded. It was a mess! I was devastated because we were looking forward to this for months and then weeks and now we couldn’t do the entire weekend so we managed a day at least and that was Saturday.

Saturday at RangerStop

Friday was our way of looking up since we did get a shop vac aix rhoaw qwew selling at RJ’s job and we were glad to get a nine gallon one and get some of the moisture out in the apartment and his car. We did have to get a new battery due to it being affected by the flood since it ran out of juice during the day Friday. We did manage to make it to Orlando and purchase wristbands for the day. I was very thankful after going because I never thought we would experience so much kindness from the guests and staff, even one of the vendors. When we told some of the guests of our situation and why they didn’t see our Nerdy Shique Universe shirts nor press badges, they were surprised even when we mentioned the water came through the walls. We were told how some of the guests even had a hard time getting Ubers to Orlando because of the storm. Tracy Lynn Cruz was lucky on her third one because the driver was a trucker for a few years and drove through similar weather conditions. Kevin Nash had to cancel since he lives around our area, which I could imagine what may have happened to his home. Kevin, if you’re reading this, I hope you and your family fared better than we had.

We did get our copies of Wild Force, In Space, which there are two parts where we had one signed by Tracy and Roger while both by Christopher, and Lost Galaxy since one of the cast made it for the convention, we also had pics taken, which some of them did it for free but did pay for others with their bundles. We also had some of their photos they brought signed and will be framing those for our new place. And of course, we did manage to find a vendor I did purchase from.

A few days before the convention, a post was made about a jewelry shop called Raven Woodmanor was returning to the convention. This is a shop that not only had Christopher Kayman Lee sport some of their bracelets but some of the pieces also were featured on a few tv shows, one of which was Vampire Diaries. I did buy a necklace and hoped to pick it up during the convention since I talked to owner Anastasia, mentioning I was appearing at the convention doing press and when the flood took place, I thought I was not going to show up to get it. She did include a gift when she shipped it out after the convention but we did show up at her table and got my necklace I purchased on Etsy and the extra. We did talk about things, she was very nice and did give us pointers on what to do and asked about our apartment since she has had experience with storms while living in Maitland. I think she has noticed on my Facebook that we were able to get things done which is next!

The Aftermath

Being a major furball of stress was an understatement towards myself the week after the storm and RangerStop, even the Friday after it happened started my stress like crazy. I was glad Tobi told us to go for a day and he would handle some things at home because we needed it after all. It did help but the crap definitely made me not feel so good afterwards. I think Kleenex would send so many tissue packs after so much crying I done after all that! First, we were not the only ones who were flooded because everyone else on the first floor of our complex and the one down the road also faced flooding and residents were on a list to be relocated to sister properties, as in if you say you want to have a transfer to a second floor on property or others then they would try to find something but it was first come first serve. We were not lucky on that front. I will explain that in a moment. Not only that, the property knew that it came through the walls and the baseboards were not properly sealed either which made it worse. This was not the first time it happened either, our neighbor right above us told us how Erma basically did the same thing and caused cars to float. I did remember asking about flooding and was told about flood walls around the river that were built after Matthew except it didn’t help us during this one. Our neighbor across the hall not only faced flooding but also a ceiling leak on top of it. We both agreed that the base boards should have been sealed better even before the storms started to rev up even more for this season.

We did face things like the mildew smell, which was terrible. We had to wash so many clothes, blankets, and other things that were caught in the flood. I had to toss some of my Ipsy bags even though they got caught in the water under our bed. I also had to toss an Ulta caboodle thing that had some of my makeup and some of that got ruined. I have to repurchase a new Eternals shadow pallet from EBay soon. So yes, we did lose things! I even lost the ORbit Reader 40 and my back up Victor Reader Stream.

Where Are We Now?

Last Wednesday, we received the vacate notice due to how they have to fix what was damaged. Yes, we got a Dehumidifier except it felt like it didn’t show up quick enough due to how much of a smell we were getting. Also, the doors were warped and our fridge also broke, which we ended up with a new one before we started looking for a new place. We did manage to find one in time and it happens to be at the first place we lived in here in Daytona Beach. I was glad they welcomed us back and of course people were moving to the complex due to how they didn’t have luck on the relocation list either. Even though we were given a list of the sister properties but were glad that we found our home again. We are still moving our stuff into the new unit, which is a two bed and two bath, on the first floor but when we had our one bed apartment we didn’t have flooding issues during Dorian during 2019. One of the people in the leasing office told me they only experienced window leaks during Nicole in most of the units, in which we saw tarps on windows showing they were being worked on. We were glad since Florida weather can change like crazy. I’m glad we found a place as quickly as possible and I felt more at home again since the stress was not good at the other place and seeing what we had to toss made it sadder to think that we lost our apartment but we survived in the end.

Many Thanks

I want to give a major thanks to the RangerStop crew, guests, and vendors who were really kind to us on that day. We had gone through a major harrowing situation. I was worried about RJ since he was feeling it more and was afraid about not smiling in the pics, which he probably was in them that Saturday. Which will be going up on my Facebook once I unpack my camera from my Bakugou bag. Getting to meet the Wild Force cast made it even better, since that season did have an awesome crossover with the Time Force cast! Like I said, the pics that were signed are going up on the walls of our new place alongside our other autographs and posters. Again, thank you all! Even to Raven Woodmanor, definitely check them out on Etsy and they will be at Holiday Matsuri!

Next Convention?

Not entirely sure when our next one will be. After this, I have to rebuild my savings again due to paying for some of the move-in fees, paying one of my cards off with some of the money we were going to use for hotel and food. Plus, next year is all about my graduation since I find it a bit miraculous with the flood, Nicole, and Ian that I’m still passing! Next semester will be my second to last semester and will do fine and I know it.I do want to go back to MetroCon though since that was our first press gig at a convention but someone asked about RangerStop in Atlanta, which that is a big question mark since we did have a blast there and enjoyed the food! Let’s see what 2023 has in store for us, it will be a big year and I hope no more storms come at us!

Jason David Frank

With everything taking place, earlier last week, I found out that Jason David Frank passed away at the age of 49. News has said that it was due to doing it himself which heard he was going through depression at the time. As someone who has faced depression, it’s hard to get out of and finding your way out by finding your own value helps. I have met Jason David Frank at conventions. I remembered when Anime Festival Orlando first announced him back in 2007 which I was really excited like most attendees. I always enjoyed watching him on Mighty Morphin and even watched Dino Thunder with my nephew years ago when Nicktoons Network showed seasons for an entire weekend. I did get him his autograph in 2012;To Jason David Frank, you were once a ranger in life, always a ranger in the next!

So, what is next? Not sure at the moment. Things have gone to crap, I will be giving myself a bit of time to heal from this and hoping to come back for another post or two in December. Until next time!

Convention Comet: RangerStop Orlando 2022

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! Time for a new convention post after a long time!

RangerStop Orlando 2022

Oh yeah! We are back with another year of RangerStop Orlando and this year it will be November 11th through the 13th at the DoubleTree near SeaWorld. I believe this is the same location as MythiCon since I saw the tower mentioned with our reservation and remembered walking around it during MythiCon. At first with conventions I was hoping to take a bit of a hiatus after Atlanta last year with RangerStop & Pop but with this year’s event being another anniversary for another season, we couldn’t miss it and need some fun while I’m already at my halfway point with school. Don’t worry, I will have my Pixel Book Go and my BrailleNote Touch Plus, which it’s time to give it a bit of a convention experience for the first time since I did take the Chameleon last year. I figured the Chameleon was easier due to it being smaller and lighter and easy to use with notes but I always hit that back button by mistake. I can use apps on the BNTP and could check things with the Wi-Fi more easily. If it gets too loud with my typing, which it has been one time, I can switch to Touch Braille. No further ado, let’s start with the location!

Hotel

Again, this convention will be held at the DoubleTree Orlando at SeaWorld which you can reserve for $109 a night.. This location is perfect due to the space having a good size for a convention. The Wyndham was nice but the main convention hall was a bit compact . The hotel does have the usual pool, work out room, onsite restaurant, and you can also have a digital key which you can access through the Hilton Honors app, which I suggest getting when making the reservation. I do like the app since it’s very accessible even when you need to edit things. I had to edit my payment info recently and was glad that it was easier than the Marriott app when we had to change our reservation to Weston. I had an issue and had to call in. Anyone who has an IPhone or Android, I would say check out the app with your screen reader. Orlando still has their usual sites and sounds such as Disney Springs and CityWalk nearby and a ton of restaurants to check out. I heard they opened up a White Castle and Fratellos which makes us more excited to visit Orlando again. I would say to check the RangerStop page to see if rooms are available and hurry since they may sell out soon. Anyone going to Holiday Matsuri, I would say check this hotel as a possible back up plan if they also have rooms for that weekend for Hol Mat in December.

Guests

This year will be an anniversary year and that is Wild Force which hits a twenty year point. Last year it was Time Force in Atlanta and this year at RangerStop in Orlando we will be seeing people from Wild Force. Of course we have Anne Marie Crouch who plays our princess in the series but we will also be getting Jessica Ray, Elia Volok, and others from this series. We will also be seeing people from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which has been a favorite of mine both cartoon and the movies since I was a kid in the early 1990s. We will be getting Kevin Nash and Judith Hoage who played April in the first live action movie. Anyone who has loved the HalloweenTown movies, did you know she also played Piper Cromwell!

Besides the new faces showing up this year, we will also be seeing some people returning including Steve Cardennas, Karen Ashley, Katherine Sutherland, Walter Jones, and Christopher Kayman Lee. You can check out the guest list on the RangerStop Orlando page, also more to come as the convention draws closer. I am excited since I will be bringing stuff to sign again!

Well that is it for this post! We are excited for this year’s event and since we will be doing press again, we will be having videos of panels as usual, and maybe an interview as well? Make sure you’re keeping an eye on our Twitter and YouTube channel! Hoping this month the USPS won’t screw up my Glam Bag, that is why I haven’t posted anything subscription related in September due to my bag being lost in the mail. Stay tuned!

Convention Quadrant: RangerStop & Pop 2021 Press Room Sessions

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with the last convention post of 2021!

RangerStop & Pop 2021 Press Room Sessions

So, remember how I mentioned the press room? Well, here we are since I got those videos up. Before the convention, I asked about interviews since during the Orlando side of things we were able to have interviews one on one on Sunday but this was different in Atlanta. They had a room for press to go in and talk with guests and this was pretty nice even though I was not there for Saturday. RJ was and it was good to split up for a day to cover more ground and had me at panels and him in the press room and it worked out pretty even with us sometimes needing to head back to the room for rest. I hope we see this at Orlando since we are planning to go to that one next year and I will explain further down in the post part.

So, Saturday’s room sessions include Austin St. John, the Time Force cast, the Beast Morphers cast, and Kat, Nekia, and Karen in a session. RJ did catch up with me over the phone at some point to tell me that with the Time Force one they only had Deborah which you will see from that title. They tried finding the guys, as in Kevin, Mike, and Jason but they were doing their own thing I believe. I know with Jason he was doing signings most of the time, I caught him during the evening signing which I was really lucky to be one of the last people for that. I think RJ had one more video but it was not recorded, only a few seconds. Wait, I missed one, also David Yaust. So, anyways, please enjoy these videos that I am about to link!

Announcement

Now it’s time to have a bit of a talk. So, at the end of October, I also mentioned in my NFB Convention Tour that I have been accepted to George Mason University. I had to withdraw from the U. Mass Boston due to my grades and also I was seen for something that I wasn’t expecting and that was my reading comprehension was not great according to the professors that taught the courses I was in during the spring. I felt that after taking some time to recover mentally since it hit me really hard, I felt that U. Mass was not a fit for me since I also not only had to do Assistive Technology courses but also VIsual Studies and I came up that Visual Studies is not my forte. I prefer sticking with the technology courses and I found that in George Mason’s program and took the time not only to apply but also to go to Atlanta of course to recuperate and do what I’ve loved with Nerdy Shique Universe and of course go to see New Found Glory since they were touring and they have been my favorite band since after I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa. So, with 2022, we are going to aim for RangerStop Orlando in November so I can take the first part of the year to re-build my savings since traveling is not cheap especially with flying and learned that I should have looked for a better deal with Delta Airlines, also to give myself time to focus on my studies. I will also try for the NFB National Scholarship and the State Scholarship for Florida since that could help with funds too. As you know, Nerdy Shique Universe was part of my technology journey since it does show that I can create a blog with using a screen reader and of course making things more accessible for anyone else who comes to these posts can navigate link by link and heading by heading to enjoy what I bring. Now, I am also helping with passing that info along to conventions who don’t have accessible websites and that’s a problem. I will still work on Nerdy Shique Universe since I have reviews and makeup subscriptions to talk about here so don’t worry, I am not leaving the Blogging Quadrant just yet. I will be here! Just understand I may be tied up with school assignments since I am really excited and never gave up on my passion in assistive tech. So, 2022 is looking bright!

So, that completes this post. Again, I would love to thank the RangerStop & Pop staff for having us cover their event. Atlanta has spoiled us and we want to come back most definitely since we found a great Japanese place to eat at and great donuts. I hope we could cover this convention again in the future since it was a nice change to the usual Orlando conventions we’ve covered for years. Again, we are aiming for RangerStop Orlando for another year since we also booked our room since understanding as a convention goer and press team person, hotel rooms can sell out and best to book ahead of time. I hear that Holiday Matsuri just had their Thursday block sell out. Tangents aside, that is it! Again, happy to cover this convention and looking forward to 2022 and my future at George Mason! Waiting on my subscriptions and hoping to do reviews since I am still reading some books and hoping to start watching a live-action series, won’t reveal it as of yet. Stay tuned guys!

The Convention Quadrant: Mighty Morphen Panel from RangerStop 7!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I hope you all are safe. I have been suffering from major allergies since yesterday and my ears have been stuffy so I’m trying to get better. Anyways, now onto the post!

Mighty Morphen Panel from RangerStop 7!

Now it’s the final panel video and it was worth the wait and it’s the Mighty Morphen Panel from last year’s RangerStop.

I remembered being seven years old and watching Saturday morning cartoons and once those were finished on Fox I see a witch come out a dumpster and doing it to a metal riff doing her signature, “At last after 10,000 years I’m free! It’s time to conquer Earth!” Then talking head goes, “Alpha! Call on five teenagers with attitude!” At that age you see this and my thoughts are, “This is so cool!” And I was hooked like many kids at that age in the early 90’s and loved every minute of it. This panel did and the entire convention did bring those memories back to me because of remembering all the times I watched Power Rangers and how even girls can kick butt like the guys was amazing. Heck, I did enjoy all the episodes with Lord Zedd since he was awesome. Besides the nostalgia for this series, it was great to hear the cast talking about their memories of being on the set, their favorite episodes, and how fun they had getting to be heroes on a kids show. Gondras did get to go up and ask our holiday memory question since it was close to the holidays after all and you will get to hear the answers since I did record that bit on my phone, sorry for having it so low. Don’t worry for RangerStop 8 and hoping if we get up to Atlanta for the new RangerStop Pop Convention in Atlanta we will have our brand spanking new video camera and tripod! So enjoy the video!

Well guys that is it for this post and all of our RangerStop 7 footage! I loved every minute of being at the convention and it was great to meet the people who made the casts for each seasons so great and hear their stories. Hoping that we get to go to Atlanta next year since now the new dates are in March for that one and it is the twentieth anniversary for Time Force! Yes, it is my all-time favorite season, can’t help it! And also hoping to do this year’s Orlando Convention in November! I want to thank the RangerStop staff for putting on a great convention and glad we got to cover it and hope we continue with it! Thank you from all of us at Nerdy Shique Universe!

The Convention Quadrant: John Tui Experience from RangerStop 7!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

John Tui Experience from RangerStop 7

Well guys, it is time for the second to last video and that is the John Tui Panel from last year’s RangerStop. I bet you’re wondering why I didn’t interview him. Well, the thing was when we ask him for one he told us to drop by his panel on that Sunday which we were allowed to ask any questions that way rather than a one on one interview since he was also super busy that weekend. It’s understandable and we were cool with it and did appeared. I did get to ask a question but it was the very last question. And very lucky with that.

What was the question? Well, I was inspired by Dan Southworth with this one and now to turn back time to when I went to AFO 2010 when Tobi and I were meeting Reuben to get things signed and I heard Dan go, “Nice golf club!” Towards my cane and told him what it was. To be fair it was short and the table went up to my grip so he couldn’t see the length. A few years later he ended up playing the character Kenshi in the Mortal Kombat web series and his character was blind. Interesting that one of my favorite rangers got to play a blind character and lately I do agree that blind people should play themselves in media roles but Dan was a sighted actor to get that chance. I decided to ask John if he were to get the opportunity, would you play a blind character. I figured with how awesome he was as Doggie Kruger on S. P. D. and yet the Japanese are still finding the costume awesome he had to wear by the way, I thought it would be interesting what he would say for his answer which I accepted.

And now for a serious note! I am not sure if you guys have heard but Omni Fandom Expo has been postponed. As everyone has heard that the Corona Virus has been all over the news and new cases have appeared even here on the coast during Bike Week. Omni was ready to keep going but due to circumstances they have decided with the hotel and the city of Kissimmee that it has to be pushed back. It sucks but understandable since this is a big issue for everyone even if so many are panicking at the moment but I would have to say is that please wash your hands guys, use hand sanitizer when you can’t reach a sink, also use anti-bacterial wipes need be since I was prepared for Omni since I’m having a shipment of camping grade wipes from Amazon arriving this weekend but what can we do? Just do what the C. D. C. says and even stay home if you’re having any cold symptoms yourself because this is a contagious virus. Yes some people have died from it but all I have to say with the right care you will get through it. Anyone affected by this please go to your nearest hospital and stat! I would say don’t let it get worse if you’re really feeling sick. Anyways, everyone stay safe out there and of course wash your hands. Now we have to wait for new dates for this convention and hoping we can make it since we have a lot to bring you to this blog. I will keep you all updated on the new dates and anything changes.

I will be doing my post on my Ipsy Glam Bag so stay tuned guys! Next panel is the final one and that is the Mighty Morphen panel! Stay tuned!

The Convention Quadrant: Power Rangers In Space & Lost Galaxy Panel from RangerStop 7!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another video!

Power Rangers In Space and Lost Galaxy Panel from RangerStop 7!

Continuing with the RangerStop panel videos for you all! This is the Power Rangers in Space and Lost Galaxy panel since these are two of my top favorite seasons in the entire run of Power Rangers. And yes it’s partly due to having space in their names! I did ask a question and that is to Christopher Kayman Lee and wishing Melody Perkins was also there to answer too because it would have been a fun answer from her and that is who would win a fight? Andros or Karone? Because it made sense since they both were rangers themselves even though Kerone became Lost Galaxy Pink the next season. I will ask her that if she does come back for another year if we do press again and I have met her and she is a complete sweetheart by the way. Christopher did answer my question so just enjoy what he has to say and I do have to say this panel did bring my love for both seasons back since In Space did end the Zordon era but it did bring new villains as time goes on and newer teams to take on that evil even with the start of Lost Galaxy and of course we had the man made Light Speed Rescue team. Anyways enjoy the video!

That is it for this post! I am going to try and post the rest of these videos in time for Omni Fandom Expo since we did have to get these edited and rendered for you all and this time we won’t rely on phones which did bring some delays on two videos so it’s all video cameras from here on out! And of course, make sure you listen for Nerdy Shique Transmissions this week because I will be doing an episode talking about my experiences at Omni over the years it has been a convention and of course I do recommend going! I am still waiting on my box subscriptions to arrive so stay tuned for everything! Oh right! Another RWBY review to come soon!

The Convention Quadrant: Legendary Voice Actors Panel at RangerStop 7!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back for another post!

Legendary Voice Actors Panel at RangerStop 7

Another panel video for you all and it is the Legendary Voice Actors Panel from RangerStop last year! Two of the guests they had were Samantha Newark who played Jem on Jem & the Holograms and Wally Wingert who you’ve seen my interview on YouTube and here on the blog! This was a very interesting panel because we get to not only hear Sam’s adventure in becoming a voice actress but also Wally’s adventure too. I did get to ask a question and had to re-iterate it a bit because it was kind of lost. I asked about how they feel about live-action adaptations of classic cartoons? I came up with the idea due to how Jem & the Holograms was adapted into live-action and well it didn’t get a lot of rave reviews and same with many others like Josie & the Pussycats as an example due to how the movie didn’t have a good script if I remembered one answer was said but you get to hear their answers. I do agree since you will see and hear my question in the John Tui Experience video that if it is a bad script then the movie wouldn’t do so well and can see why other cartoon live-action adaptations weren’t really made for the big screen. I did like the one Scooby Doo movie that Cartoon Network had a few years back on how the gang got together and wished they continued with that. Anyways, all tangents aside, just enjoy the rest of the video!

That is it for this post! I will get the next panel video up but I do have another book review for you guys so stay tuned!

The Convention Quadrant: Magical Source! Mystic Force! Panel from RangerStop 7!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with a new post!

Magical Source! Mystic Force! Panel from RangerStop 7!

Sorry for the wait on panel videos because we had a bit of trouble getting them off the SD on Gondras’ phone and he was going through laptop issues and of course we were also preparing for Omni on top of it but managed to talk with Damean in getting them together. The first panel up is the Mystic Force Panel and this was a long one because there were a lot of things being talked about in this one even it split into four parts for this one.

I did remember Linkara saying this was one of the weaker seasons of Power Rangers but I am kind of curious to watch it after this panel since my ex did watch the Japanese version, Magiranger, but am a sucker for the American version since that was what I grew up on. I did start watching Wild Force so it will be a bit before I get to this season. What took place? Watch and you will find out!

That is it for this post guys! More panel videos to come since we have gone to a majority of these during that convention. WHat’s next? I did get my BoxyCharm and Glam Bag Plus earlier today so I will be posting my BoxyCharm first! Until next time!

The Convention Comet: Omni Fandom Expo 2020 in Kissimmee, FL

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! It’s time for the first convention of the year!

Omni Fandom Expo 2020
Dates: March 20-22, 2020
Location: Days by Celebration, Kissimmee, FL

Another year has started and you know what that means? Time for another convention season to start and our season starts with Omni Fandom Expo. As you all know we’ve been doing press for these guys since their first year in 2014 and glad to get another!

Location: Change of location this year and it will be at the Days by Wyndham Celebration located in Kissimmee. This hotel is located near Disney and of course a few miles away from Universal if you want to check out the main attractions. The features include free parking, express check out, free breakfast, a work out room, hot tub, and pool and even a restaurant known as Savannah Bar & Grill. The room rate here is $129 a night and I would say reserve as soon as possible because this discount ends on February 27th!

Guests: This year’s guests include Grey Delisle Griffin who is well known for her roles as Mandy from the Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Azula from Avatar: The Last Air Bender, and of course can’t forget Vicky from the Fairly Odd Parents! Returning to Orlando after years of not coming back is Neil Kaplan which makes me happy since it’s been years. You can hear him as Lord Zarkon in Voltron: Legendary Defender! And of course, returning again this year is Mr. Xemnes himself Paul St. Peter! And of course we can’t forget Speak Easy Sirens who has been a Burlesque troop that always been performing every year and bringing on Theoretical Rejects as another troop for this year’s event. And finally, one group that will be doing a performance this year is Shinobi School which is a performance troop from Tampa that specializes in park or, circus acrobatics, and so much more.

Events: One event I’m excited for is Miyazaki Madness which will be performed by Shinobi School and will be taking place that Saturday at noon during the convention. It will take our most beloved Miyazaki characters and have them do many feats and dance moves. If you want the more eighteen plus stuff, Speak Easy Sirens and Theoretical Rejects have Lore Olympus and NetFlix & Chill during that weekend. Please leave your kids at home since these two are eighteen and up only!

That is about it on this year’s event! Can’t wait to see you guys there! Hoping they add more guests in the meantime since we haven’t interviewed Grey yet and glad to see Neil back in Orlando since his last con was around 2009 I believe? So can’t wait to see what he has in store if we get that chance to interview him. And with Paul, we all know his events and can’t wait and see if Pirate Curses makes a return and if you want to learn voice acting I highly recommend his voice acting class panels. We will be buzzing around the convention floor this year and of course having new teammates! Let’s meet them shall we?

Damion Alexander Faelan and Michael Roach: Welcome our new teammates who will be joining us to do photography during the event. If you’re cosplaying, there will be photoshoots being held by these two and Damion does have his own photography business known as Shadow Rayne Photography which we will include a link down below.

And of course, we do have a new camera coming with us for floor interviews so a lot of new things will be with us so stay tuned. And of course, don’t forget our podcast Nerdy Shique Transmissions where I will also be talking about this convention in each episode leading up to the convention itself! Anyone on Breaker? I forgot that you can also listen to it on there too!

What is next? Our start of the RangerStop Panel videos since Damion was also helping us in getting those put together since they were recorded in separate parts. First of the panels is the Magical Source! Mystic Force! Panel! Stay tuned!

The Interview Quadrant: Aljin Abella from Power Rangers Jungle Fury!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with our last interview from RangerStop!

Interview with Aljin Abella from Power Rangers Jungle Fury!

Our last interview from RangerStop 7 is with Aljin Abella who played Theo on Power Rangers Jungle Fury! I haven’t watched the season yet since I’m still finishing Time Force at the moment, hey work keeps me busy, but will get to it eventually since it does have a blind master, Master Swoop. And the interesting part his character is his student! I can’t wait to see that since I only remembered clips when Linkara did his History of Power Rangers episode on this season. What did I ask Aljin? Watch and find out!

Well that is the end of our interviews from last year’s RangerStop. It was great getting to interview who we got a chance to. Even though we were hoping to get more but we did run out of time and there were so many great panels on top of it. We did give some of the people our business cards so they can get in contact with us for any Skype interviews since it’s been a while on there and that gave us a new interview experience. If not, there is always RangerStop 8 in Orlando which I can’t wait to see who they bring. I hope more people from Time Force and Lost Galaxy since those are two of my favorite seasons. We will be getting our panels edited since Gondras’ phone split them up into multiple parts and I did record some things on my end so hold tight for all that. Next will start my Subscription Satellite since according to the tracking BoxyCharm and GB Plus are supposed to be here this week. So, stay tuned!
