The Favorites Quadrant: Second Quarter 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from travelling the vast universe! I am back with a new post!

Second Quarter Favorites 2020

It’s time for my second quarter favorites! I am glad to do these posts this way since I can write about what I have been trying and enjoying! Let’s see what I have been loving!

Press On Nails: I have been getting into press on nails during this pandemic. Normally I would paint my nails, but I decided to make a change due to how much my nail polish chips the next day especially my right index finger nail! My first nail set was from Kiss and was new to it and saw how they popped off and even asked for tips on What’s Up In Makeup on different ways of applying and different companies, I am having issues typing with the set I have on now from Marmalade Nails in Moonlight even though I filed them down slightly. I will try to have shorter ones if I can and file longer ones better, I do like the Kiss ones the most since they are easier to wear and tend to get a better grip with the glue I use with them, I have gotten other sets from other places like Etsy and independent sites and Amazon. Still getting used to it.

Morning Face Wash: Tony Moley AM Water Face Wash: I got into this after seeing someone getting this in their Glam Bag and saw Ulta had it but sold out and had to wait for the re-stock. It did and loved it! I prefer this one over the Formula 10.06 due to how it feels more cooling and prefer the clean scent. I did get two tubes of this during a sale I think or when I got the alert of the re-stock again. This one goes fast and see why since it’s popular! Stull love it!

New Foundation: Wet N Wild Photo Focus Dewy Foundation! For a few years now I have been using the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation in Buff Bisque! Now that they have released a dewy formula, I switched to that and loving it! This foundation is way better 6than the matte version because it is so light and easy to spread and not as smelly either. Wishing it had a pan instead since it is so liquidous well! I will keep on getting this instead of the regular.

Hair Care Items: Herbal Essences! I have been enjoying Herbal Essence’s more due to how the bottles for the shampoo and conditioner have markings for anyone who has issues telling them apart from each other. They also have been on the Be My Eyes app and same with other Proctor & Gamble brands. I also have been enjoying their dry shampoos despite them being small, but they do pack a punch! I do buy two cans so I can have it last me for a while. I am using the coconut one since I loved the one from Dove,

Body Scrub: Purlisse Coconut Coffee Scrub! Next is body scrub! Ever since I got into these my skin on my legs have been improving and not as itchy either. Heck, the scabs I had are also improving and the latest one has been helping with that and it’s from Purlisse and it’s the Coconut Coffee Body Scrub. You will love my story with this! I originally bought this as a bundle with the body butter in this scent from Ipsy since they always do new offers, and this caught my eye. It was around $20 when it is around $48 because the scrub and butter are $24 each on Purlisse’s site. So, I wait for it to arrive and never did because I either thought it got lost or someone stole it since same thing happened with my face masks in one bundle but this one I had to call the USPS hotline and they said they never received it and had to get a refund. I did contact Purlisse to see if they would do anything and they helped by sending me these products for free. I was very grateful that they did this for me and hoping if I get something from this brand it gets to me on time. I am glad I am using this scrub and will use the body butter at some point, but this scrub is really good for a $24 scrub.

Lip Treatment: Vaseline Coconut Lip Treatment! At one moment I had a bit of a chemical burn on my lips due to a lip oil and had to lay off the lip products. I used Vaseline to help out and when I ordered items on Shipt one day I decided to see about their lip treatments, and they had a few. I got the and was happy I did. My lips were healing a lot better with this and even started wearing lip products again. I am not sure if it was use to being allergic but that was weird. If it were to happen again I know what to do! Hand Soaps: Ulta Moisture Gel Soaps! Final item I’m mentioning is hand soap from Ulta. I know hand washing has been a big thing for months and using that right soap helps. I was looking for soaps that were slightly cheaper and easy to get since Bath & Body Works was closed for a while and getting these from Ulta was one of the best ideas. Ulta sometimes has good specials but I tend to get at least two now since they do last you a while with a bottle. Plus, I did find a dupe for BBW’s Eucalyptus Mint soap since Ulta also has their formula. I tend to go for the moisture gel because of how much my skin gets dry over time and itchy so these help with the dryness and glad to get these. I will still get my favorite BBW soap but will get these if I can’t.

That is, it for this post. I didn’t want to get into my subscriptions since that review is up next. So stay tuned! I think that is it for this post! I was

Favorites Quadrant: First Quarter 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

First Quarter Favorites 2020!

It’s time for the first quarter favorites. As you probably have seen at the end of last year that I was going to do quarterly favorites instead of bi-monthly favorites this year. It’s kind of stressful and easier to talk about my favorites and what I’ve been using and what I think! Let’s get into it!

Not-So-Favorite: E. L. F. Putty Eye Shadow Primer: First is not much of a fave because it sucked! The E. L. F. Putty Eye Primer was it this time around! For a little while now I’ve been using the Poreless Putty Primer which I got in my final Allure Beauty Box and remembered how Jeffree Starr said this was approved by him and everyone bought it out everywhere as in everywhere sold out until now which you can buy again. I was able to find it at my local Target which was good. When I saw that they have an eye shadow primer I decided to pick it up and when I used it it was not my favorite. It was so dry I was afraid that my shadow was not showing. I even asked the Collective Brain at What’s up in Makeup and people experienced the same thing except the rose one. I did not go further to try this because I was so done with it and I have tried better eye primers, heck the Lorac one that came with their Pro Pallets is better than this one. I would say use your favorite eye primer guys because this was not worth it!

Favorite Moisturizer: Tony Moley Choc Choc Green Tea moisturizer: Next is from Tony Moley and have been enjoying what I’ve been using from them and this is one of them and that is their Choc Choc Green Tea Moisturizer. I use this at night to keep my face moisturized even before putting on my makeup and this feels really cooling to the skin. I was hoping to use the smaller tube I got in a bundle from Ipsy which I got Green Tea Sheet Masks, this and the the hand cream and like I said hoped to use it during Omni but with what’s going on in the world I have it with my daily makeup case. I will definitely buy this again since it doesn’t cost too much, it is almost the same price as Celestial from Lush except I get more moisture from this and green tea does have a lot of skin benefits.
Second Favorite Moisturizer: Murad Essential C Moisturizer! Another favorite is the Murad Essential C Moisturizer and glad to try it all thanks to GB Plus. I am glad that I’m getting to try out Murad all thanks to them and glad that 21 Days of Beauty put Murad on sale and this was one of the items on sale during this past one for half off and to tell you the truth is that this is the first SPF item I enjoy. As you know I have sensitive skin and sometimes SPF infused skin care and makeup doesn’t work out for me. First time this happened was with the Paula’s Choice Moisturizer with SPF 20 from my Ipsy August 2014 and my skin even hated the IT Cosmetics CC Cream I tried later due to the SPF. I was worried that it would do the same with this one and I decided to try it without makeup on top and it worked out and then the next day for work I had it underneath makeup and no break outs! It helps that this brand is meant for sensitive skin types like me and I can see why Grav3yard Girl loves this brand and I am enjoying it since I did get another tube of their AHA & BHA Cleanser I also tried all thanks to GB Plus and it was also on sale during 21 Days. I hope the Water Gel is in the next one which I say if you are curious to try Murad after what I have tried wait for the 21 Days of Beauty sale because it goes half off during that time at Ulta because this brand is very pricey even was surprised that this moisturizer is $60. Ow! Again wait for the 21 Days of Beauty for Murad’s sales.

Favorite Cleanser: Tony Moley Foaming Peach Cleanser! Next is a cleanser and that is from Tony Moley again but this time it’s their Peach Foaming Cleanser from their peach line! This fits the claims because it is really gentle on the skin, it foams and feels as good on the skin as it does and it smells amazing! I have tried the Peach Cleansing Sherbet but it is not as good as the Foaming Cleanser. I will definitely keep on buying this even on sale since I did go through the President’s Day special where it was Buy One Get One Half Off I believe but it was worth it and will keep me stocked. So far so good Tony Moley has been great on my skin and they are really sensitive skin friendly!

Favorite Body Scrub: HEMPZ Herbal Body Scrub! Next is a body scrub which is a first. Since the end of last year my legs have been dry and itchy for a long while and even developed scaly bits on my legs. I tried everything even layering body lotions until this popped up in one of my Ulta emails and that is that HEMPZ had new items including an herbal body scrub and had to try it. I noticed it because I was getting a coffee body scrub in GB Plus and figured it would help with my legs and it is helping out. My skin is losing some of the dryness at a slow rate but it is helping as time goes on. Skin care doesn’t work overnight so at least it is helping getting the scales off and I am not itchy anymore which is good. Yay! Will keep on using though.

Favorite Face Primer: E. L. F. Poreless Putty Primer! Like I mentioned above I’ve been using the E. L. F. Poreless Putty Face Primer lately. I’ve been enjoying the creaminess and how much my makeup stays on top. It does have a hard application with my Cover Girl Clean Makeup since I have to wet my sponge to spread it all over a bit more to get a better application. I don’t get why this product is creamier than the Putty Eye Primer? Okay E. L. F., whatever you did with this primer with the creamy consistency add it to the eye version because it needs it!

Favorite New Mascara: Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara! Lately I’ve been wearing more mascara to work because I became allergic to my Holy Grail Lash Gel and Brow Gel duo from E. L. F. the past couple of months and then switched to lash primers and mascaras which has been helping with application and not causing me any adverse effects. I am still trying out lash primers to see how they go but the mascara I’ve been enjoying is the Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara. This makes my lashes look amazing every time I wear it to work. I even worn it when I just put makeup at home. I miss wearing stuff from Flower Beauty and should keep on using this brand.

Favorite Face Pallet: Wonder Beauty Trip for Two Blush & Bronzer Duo! Next up is the Trip Two from Wonder Beauty. There are times where I reach for this and use it since it is easy to use. The bronzer is on the right and the blush is on the left and just dip brushes in and it’s good enough to travel with due to how small it is. Glad that I got this in one of my subscriptions because it’s easy to reach when I want to use one face pallet for my looks.

Favorite Highlighter: Colour Pop Stick in Peach! Last makeup item goes to the Color Pop Highlighter Sticks in Peach. When I was looking for a peach highlighter I found this one and found it amazing! Not only that when I wore it back in December to a party a friend did comment how my skin looked with this on. It is amazing and very smooth to get onto the cheeks. At first it was a bit rough but now it’s easier to get on. I hope this doesn’t get discontinued by Color Pop because it’s a good product and I enjoy it!

Favorite Book Series Thus Far: Playful Brides Series by Valerie Bowman! One of the books I’ve been reading leading up to the one I need to review is in the series called the Playful Brides. It’s a historical fiction series and I’ve been enjoying what I’ve been reading so far. It’s cute and the girls like Lucy, Cassandra, and now Jane are enjoyable. I am on book three where Jane is having her time to shine and it’s cute so far since she wants to be a spinster but she’s getting involved with a scandal. I have to keep on reading and don’t worry I will reach the book I need to review soon!

Favorite Song: “About a Voyage” by Sayori! I’ve been getting this song stuck in my head ever since Season 4 of My Hero Academia was being dubbed and it’s called “About a Voyage.” It’s very catchy and the funny thing is that the opening bars sound so innocent but when it starts that’s when it changes to an all-out rock song! I did download it and it’s on my phone and do play it when it gets in my head. Got to love how anime gets the catchiest songs!

Favorite Clothes Item: My Hero Academia Chibi Skater Skirt and United States of Smash Tour Long-Sleeved Shirt! Speaking of My Hero Academia! I do love this outfit and that is my chibi character skirt and my United States of Smash Tour shirt of All Might and the states that had smashes he has done. I even worn it to the second movie premiere back in February. This is what happens when I become a major fan of a series.
So guys that ends this favorites post! I think I prefer doing this because it gives me more time to try more things and bring it back to you guys in this post! I hope you all enjoyed it and can’t wait to bring new things to the next Quarterly Favorites in August! I should be getting my GB Plus Tuesday so stay tuned!

The Bests & Worsts of 2019!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! It is time for…

Bests & Worsts of 2019!

It’s New Year’s Eve and that means it is time for the Bests and Worsts of this year. Going to change up the format a bit since I feel like some things are better in their categories. Let’s get to it!

Best TV Series: The Mandalorian! This year Disney Plus has started and we get to stream new and old shows that Disney has released over time including the ones through Fox and Marvel due to how they bought Fox this year as well. The Best TV Series or shall I say Season goes to The Mandalorian. This is the journey of a bounty hunter who takes on a baby alien that looks like Yoda around the universe to see who would take care of it but enemies keep on coming after it and him in order to kill them both. This series has a mix of Lone Wolf & Cub with one episode inspired by 7th Samurai on top of it. You can get a free month of Disney Plus and pay $6.99 a month afterwards.
Worst TV Series/Season: Game of Thrones Final Season! Oh man! I heard the uproar about how bad this season of Game of Thrones ended up and glad I only read the books. People said that the ending was horrible and how it lead up to it made it worse since so many things were different and well George R. R. Marten didn’t write the ending just yet. He did say after the ending of the show that his ending will be different from what the creators came up with. Apparently the show had ended due to a new one the Director was doing. Again, so glad I stick to the books because I heard earlier seasons butchered things.

Anime of the Year: My Hero Academia! Yes, I know it’s just not due to how much I love this series but it’s due to how well it’s going. I didn’t get into this series until after our interview with J. Michael Tatum and Brandon McInnis that I can see why this anime is awesome. Yes, it started off slow which is like the movie Sky High since I compared this to that and it got better. This year it not only ended Season 3 but brought us Season 4 where new twists and turns at UA High has come and the stakes are higher due to what had happened with All Might and him retiring after beating One for All and of course getting Bakugo back from the League of Villains. Now the students are living on campus for everyone’s protection and now serious work is taking place when the big three students are coming in help and new internships start. Just as Deku starts his internship with All Might’s former sidekick, Night Eye, he meets a little girl covered in bandages asking him not to leave and that is when things start getting serious. I would say start watching from the beginning if you haven’t and yes we’re excited for the new movie coming to the United States early 2020, Rising Heroes.
Runner-Up: Dr. Stone! My runner-up has to be Dr. Stone because it has an interesting story behind it. Senku’s friend decides to confess to a girl that he likes her and when he was about to do it under the tree in the school’s courtyard a bright light shines and petrifies them and everyone else with them for over three thousand years. When Senku revives from his petrified state and his friend comes out six months later they have to survive in a newer version of their world and that is by using science! No really! This is a new version of Myth Busters because of how much science was demonstrated but there is a disclaimer put at the end of each episode not to try any of this at home. Also this series does reminds me of Beakman’s World. Doesn’t help that Senku looks like Beekman himself but with green hair and that is why I call it Leekman’s World! Also, some schools are using this anime in science classes due to the educational parts. So, check it out if you have a chance!

Best MakeUp Release: Game of Thrones X Urban Decay! I give it to this because it was a big sell out all over! I only got the shadow pallet on the Urban Decay website and then had to wait for Ulta to get the collection to get the Mother of Dragons Highlighter Pallet. Even though the final season was a flop but this was a big collector’s item due to how the vault was hard to get also the collection items did sell out quickly and didn’t restock on Urban Decay but were available everywhere else for people to get it.
Runner-Up: Jeffree Starr Blueblood Collection! I felt this collection had a really good release even though it did have the pallet alone sell out but the bundles were still available which I picked up back in March.
Third Runner Up: Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation! I give this to the Stay Naked Foundation Line is because it was a smooth release and I did like the shade choices. I did match myself correctly!
Worse MakeUp Release: Jacklyn Hill Cosmetics Lipsticks! I admit I wanted to get her lipsticks but after hearing what had happened I stood back because of what so many things being found like metal, glass, and the balls of whatever in there. Also, she talked about cotton gloves being used which we don’t see that anywhere, latex gloves are used everywhere not cotton! Sorry for sounding a little revved up but more should have been done and of course agreeing that makeup doesn’t take weeks to produce but months! Sorry Jacklyn you’re not getting my money at all, not even the highlighters since I have so many to get through!

Best Movie: SpiderMan: Far From Home! We haven’t seen many movies this year due to being tied up with work but I give it to the last Spiderman flick and that is Far From Home. They brought Mysterio to the screen and it was really good with what they did with him. I am glad Marvel is getting more SPiderMan work and that we get more movies with him because Tom Holland as Peter Parker is amazing! And they are bringing J. K. Simmons to be Joe Jonah Jameson for these movies which he is amazing at!

Well guys that is it for this list! I know it’s short but I feel like I can’t name anything else. I still need to review Traverser’s new album so that is not on the list, I had so many convention experiences this year at two conventions only so that is not here either. Sorry about that! You can read my experiences in the reviews and the upcoming posts! Now onto the next section!

What is next for Nerdy Shique Universe in 2020? We are upgrading the blog to be an actual blogging website. I didn’t have the funds to do it in December so I am seeing what January holds in the funds department because it costs $96 for the first payment and $8 for every month until next year for the year payment here on Word Press so I will see what happens in January since I do have bills and rent to pay. When that happens that means new shirts with the new link, new logos since we met an awesome guy at RangerStop who is helping us with that, and of course new business cards. And we do have a new video camera for our press work! For a few years now we have relied on Nerdy Shirts’ brother to let us borrow the camera they use for their channel and got the same camera and tripod since it would be easier to familiarize and operate it during conventions rather than have difficult settings like my Polaroid camera years ago that was used for pictures. Glad to get one since it was high time that we did and Nerdy Shirts is not always with us because RangerStop has two people per team and he was at RangerStop last year but only one day to record my interviews.

Now conventions! Hoped that we could make it to RangerStop Pop in Atlanta but I am announcing here that I am planning on getting my Master’s Degree in Adaptive Technology and filling out the NFB Scholarship forms for State and National. If I win either one, I would go to the State Convention in Tampa for Florida and the National Convention in Houston and that one is around the same time as RangerStop Pop and before MetroCon. Who knows what will happen until June so stay tuned at Nerdy Shique’s Twitter for all the news because getting my Master’s has been a dream of mine and this will also get me National Certification with C. A. T. I. S. which is Certified Adaptive Tech Industry Specialist. Plus I have used Adaptive Tech to run this blog and the YouTube itself so not only my job would have a certified worker but you will also have a. T. Certified Specialist with this blog! But we will do Omni Expo and of course RangerStop but we do want to branch out which may have to wait again.

And finally, I am going to be on a low buy for makeup because this year with the makeup purchasing I think I went crazy even with Ipsy and Ulta. I am slowing it down because not only it did crazy but makeup companies are releasing items left and right without giving us a breather. Trust me, Urban Decay gave us six months in between the Naked Reloaded, Game of Thrones, and Naked Honey. While Anastasia Beverly Hills gave weeks even towards the end of the year for everything. So, I am sticking to my subscriptions which are Ipsy, GB Plus, BoxyCharm, and Dollar Shave Club. And of course re-stock when needed and if the 21 Days of Beauty does come I only focus on what I want rather than go overboard. So far so good I have not gone overboard even being paid this morning, as in normally I would go straight to Ulta with a coupon, hasn’t happened because I did pay some bills. I did buy one item from Ipsy but it’s due to my hands and legs being so dry and hoping the items do help with that. Also, I am working on an Ita Bag so that is why I am doing a low buy at the moment.

Well that is it! Thanks for another year and hoping 2020 looks bright! What post will I start in the New Year? Another interview from RangerStop! Until next time!

The Favorites Quadrant: November and December 2019

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post!

November & December Favorites 2019!

Okay guys, it is the final Favorites post of 2019! Let’s start with subscriptions!

Subscriptions: November and December has been wild. How so? Well, let me say this first off and the final time I just unsubscribed from Allure Beauty Box. I was going to give it a few more months but I felt so underwhelmed especially with what I got in November. I love skin care but I felt with the E. L. F. Putty Primer I can just go and get it myself at Target or have Shipt bring it to me without a box sending it to me. Plus the charcoal mask is mainly for oily skin and I have mainly dry skin and can’t use it. The Tarte lipstick was just meh and I feel as though that it was time to let it go finally. I didn’t have any regrets because this was one subscription that didn’t wow me except with two boxes and that’s it. I saw what they offered for December and they were Anastasia pallets which I can go into Ulta for but the brand doesn’t really catch my eye that much either because of how much they have been releasing. I just let it go. I am keeping my three other subscriptions, well four counting Dollar Shave Club because I get my razor cartridges that way alongside shave butter and some hair stuff if need be. I do have to say that GB Plus for November and December rally good due to the products that were sent. Some people did not like December’s and apparently someone got products different from what they are supposed to get and commented to contact Ipsy because they’re really good in replacing items, they replaced all my missing add-ons from one month. I doubt they read it. I liked the selection of products in November since there was a collab with Gigi Gorgeous and glad to get a contour item which made me happy. I did find it easy to blend like it said in the claims. I did enjoy the mascara and the lipstick from Doucce and Belle En Argent while the blush pallet I need to give it some time since I just tried it out and same with the Illumasqua Primer. Speaking of Illumasqua, I did get a pen eyeliner from them in December which does add more liners to use for work and glad for that. I did pick the Evalou Skin Serum which is not too bad but wishing it was not so drying on my skin but hey at least it’s just a onetime try. I have not tried the shadow quad yet since some people have been thinking it is not worth it for the $60 since you can get Z Pallets for a lower price. This is my thought about this product. Yes, it may be pricey but you are getting shadows with this and their shadows aren’t really that cheap either. Let me get one for example! For one eye shadow you’re paying $9.00 and since we got four shadow pans in this pallet we got $36 already. If you wanted a face item it would cost a dollar more as another example. And for a pallet alone you’re paying $24. In the end you have four shadows which would be $36 plus the pallet being $24 and that adds up to the $60 price for this item. That pays for this box even for the Ultimate if you got this in there. I am actually happy because I remembered getting one of the shadows in my regular Glam Bag and then got one of these Ittse pallets with six shadows in an Ipsy Offer so I am not mad about it and the nice thing about the pallets is that there is an insert you can pull out and put more items in so if you wanted to get a face product like a blush you can buy that separately from their website or get your own items like eye shadows from Makeup Geek or Coastal Scents and put them in here and create your own custom pallet. While the 111 Skin I have not touched that yet since I do still have a moisturizer I am using as my morning one before makeup. I did hear that people have not gotten a full container of this but hoping mine is not one of them.

BoxyCharm was pretty good as well for December while November I found the brushes to be a little disappointing because they’re really hard to use. They remind me of those oval brushes that everyone paid over a hundred dollars for except they are more rectangular. I had a hard time putting anything on with these so I went back to my original brushes because I had an easier time with those even the Gigi Gorgeous ones since I switched out for those. I have not used the shadow pallet yet nor does the eye mask since I am not sure where they are. I did use the liquid lipstick but it was disappointing that there was not enough product in it. I don’t know why but felt that BoxyCharm sent me a Dose of Colors lipstick that was about to run out but December I felt it did redeem itself because of the items that came in there. I was surprised that I got an entire brow pallet which did come in handy with giving my brows a bit of extra hold while the Storybook eye shadow pallet was so pigmented on my eyes. The lip scrub I got was pretty good and not too harsh on the scrub particles since some brands like to do that with their lip scrubs. And the blush did give me a glow on my skin that one of my friends noticed that my skin looked great. I did not try the Glacier Water Cream but will soon. I did not get to choose anything for January because I didn’t get an email about it which I did contact BoxyCharm about and they are looking into what is going on and they did take my app suggestion. People if there are issues you run into just contact these guys!

Ipsy for November and December really good with having new items from Pixie and getting to try another hand cream which is at work for extra hydration. I am not kidding with the hand soap. While December, oh man, the lip gloss! The applicator on that thing was so hard that I had a hard time putting that on and had to toss it because of that. I did like the Hey Honey eye mask since that was pretty good for a product. I haven’t used the eye pencil yet and did like the smell of the perfume. I haven’t used the blush as of yet but will do in the future. I am hoping with 2020’s subscription picks it will be even better in some areas while great as usual. I have enjoyed my BoxyCharm except for August while Ipsy and Glam Bag Plus have been really good with what I’ve gotten. Hoping that it will look bright!

Convention Moments: November was a convention month with RangerStop of course. We didn’t go to Holiday Matsuri since everyone knows my story with that one and of course we had more fun at RangerStop and it was Gondras’ first time being at this one because he always saved his time off for Holiday Matsuri. This year for RangerStop it had two memorials but we went to one and that was Robert Axelrod’s. He passed away this year and it was sad since I remembered him from anime and of course as Lord Zed like everyone else. I did dedicate the Convention Spotlight to him since he has been an important part of pop culture for the longest time. Getting to meet John Tui who played Daggeron in Mystic Force and Doggie Cruger in S. P. D. was an experience we will never forget especially me when I didn’t know that when meeting a woman for the first time you get a kiss which is New Zealand and Polynesian custom. I was a bit flustered at that but getting to ask him my question was even better which you will see in that panel video since we need to get those panel videos stitched together. I hope we get to do Press for next year because it was a blast being at this thing like last year and getting to meet more rangers from the Disney seasons was pretty cool and getting to see more panels on those seasons was also pretty cool too and not only that we did get voice actors mixed in with Samantha Newark and Wally Wingert. Our favorite moments happened to be how I got to finally interview Christopher Kayman Lee which his interview will be coming up soon here and how Wally recognized Gondras doing his Alfred from Batman voice during the voice acting panel he had with Samantha. By this time next year, not only will be doing press also possibly juggling a Master’s Degree which I will explain at the end of the Bests & Worsts post next.

Favorite Holiday Buy: Since we are passed the subscriptions and convention stuff it is time for the items that are my favorite holiday buy!

Too Faced Gingerbread Extra Spicy: Even though I got this and the Let It Snow Girl set but the Gingerbread Extra Spicy pallet is my favorite that Too Faced has released this year. It is as pigmented as it’s original and still has that same ginger snap smell. It did come with different shades with a pop of blue but I was able to create some neutral looks with this one. I hope they keep bringing this back alongside the original since it is my favorite scented pallet as of now.

Ulta Glamour On the Go: I did buy a few Ulta Sets but the Glamour On the Go Set is my favorite from the sets I bought because not only it was a Black Friday Buy for me but it did also come with a better carrying case for travel. I can just go and head for a convention with this and just bring my face items in a makeup bag and my brushes and I am good!

Favorite Gift from Family: New Rice Cooker! This year I asked my dad for a bigger rice cooker because Mama Gondras did give us one but I can only do rice in smaller batches which is nice if I am eating alone. Here with this one I can make a big batch to go with things like chili or my rice and beans and there goes my meal plan. I also find it awesome that not only I can make rice but other things too like yogurt, oatmeal and even do slow cooking which I am thinking of trying out since I have ingredients for cracked chicken again. I did thank my dad right after my first use.
Runner Up: Pajamas from Mama Gondras! I do have to mention this since they feel so good and that they are a pair of pajamas my future in law got me and they are in Asian style with cranes on them. They are really comfy and wishing the fasteners didn’t feel so loose so easily but hey they are nice for what they are.

Favorite Perfume: Lord of Misrule from Lush! Lush has released more perfumes and I was happy that this was one of them and that is the scent in Lord of Misrule. I fell in love with this scent ever since it was a Halloween scent a few years ago. It was even sold throughout Christmas and now they made it permanent. Let me describe how it smells to me! It smells like toasted marshmallows with a woodsy and pepper scent. I know it doesn’t make sense but that is how it smells like to me. I decided to have my dad get me this for my early Christmas gift since I was trying to find my perfumes I had lost and he had a hard time finding two of them and decided why not have him get this as a replacement for now due to needing new scents in my life. I am so happy to get this and glad that the scent is permanent!

New Fall Scent: Coconut Pumpkin Latte from Bath & Body Works! Everyone knows that my favorite fall scent is the Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte but this year I was introduced to something new and that is Coconut Pumpkin Latte at Bath & Body Works. I was at BBW in October and needed more hand sanitizers and more hand soaps and got the hand soap in this scent and fell in love with it. Coconut can be an interesting coffee flavor and I had tried it before but with the pumpkin it makes the scent earthier and it smells good. Even my co-workers find my office smelling good. I hope it does come back for another year because I want more of it and same with Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte!

Favorite Bag: My Ita Bag! For a little while now I have been getting into Ita Bags. For those of you who may not know it is a bag that has a clear plastic window in either a tote bag or a backpack and you put merch to display of your favorite anime, favorite couple in a series, or even character. Since I have been loving My Hero Academia I figured to make one with this anime. Vivi did help me put the cardboard insert by cutting out some cardboard from one of many boxes from Ulta and I got some cloth at Michaels and glued it on and added some keychains I got in blind boxes and same with pins. It is still in a work in progress since I did find more items on Etsy and waiting on patches of Deku and Bakugo, I did get some of the new pin blind boxes along with a Froppy pin but the backings aren’t working so had to go to EBay and picked up some plastic ones so waiting on those to arrive to help out. I can’t wait for next year’s conventions since I will probably find more Ita Bag items and I am planning on a Sailor Moon one.

Favorite Album: Jupiter Does Not Care About You by. Traverser! Well, the wait is over and I got my copy of Traverser’s new album. I am still listening to it since I am going to write a review so stay tuned for that. I do have to say ever since Gondras and I saw these guys in 2009 they have grown so much as a band and glad they have released more music as time went on. I will tell you my full thoughts on this album once I am done putting my Band Camp and this computer through the playing process.

Well guys that is it for this post! Glad that you have enjoyed this year’s favorites and now announcing this. I am changing up the Favorites posts! Why you may ask? Since I am going to be on a Low Buy during 2020 due to projects I have planned I will be splitting up the subscription favorites into its own post for every two months and the makeup favorites for every quarter because I don’t have many makeup favorites every time since I am trying new things in boxes and and since I am sticking to the subscriptions for makeup items and just treat myself once in a while and just re-stock when needed it is also due to how many brands are always releasing new things and it’s too much! I will talk about more in another post and why I feel like it’s time to do this but of course the favorites will be different this time. Let’s see what 2020 has in store for this and stay tuned for my Bests & Worsts of 2019!

The Beauty Quadrant: Subscription 2019 Favorites!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

Favorite Items from My Boxes!

Yes, another year has passed and so far I have been into my subscriptions and have tried so many things from so many brands and it’s time to pick the items I loved from them all. I am also mentioning a few from Allure with my time being with them after cancelling last month. As you know I cancelled due to being so underwhelmed by what they gave me every month. So, let’s get to it!

Suva Beauty Hydro Liner in Grease: First up is one of the items from my first Glam Bag Plus and it’s from Suva Beauty. I wanted to try their Hydro Liners after hearing Beauty News mentioning them and seeing them at Riley Rose during my time still living with my parents. I was glad to get one in my first GB Plus and love it a lot! It’s very easy to use where you put some water in the lid and take a brush and touch the water and then touch the liner lightly and you draw on your water line. You can also use this for special effects makeup and creating tattoos. I was worried that this would run all over if my eyes watered or if the Florida weather just rains all over but nope. It stayed put! It didn’t even bother my eyes at all. I have to get more of these and glad that GB Plus started with black since that is a pretty basic color to start with.
Dose of Colors Liquid Lipsticks: All thanks to BoxyCharm I fell in love with these immediately! I heard Jen Luv’s Reviews talk about these especially the shade Chocolate Wasted where she uses it as a lip color base to add dimension and I did buy one of them during the Fall 21 Days of Beauty. These are so comfortable to wear and they hardly move. I was kind of sad with the last one I got I felt there wasn’t much in the tube so had to toss it. I think it was called Flirty which was a brown pink nude.
Tarte Be You Naturally Pallet: Next is my favorite item I got from Tarte and that is their Be You Naturally Eye Shadow Pallet. I did kind of enjoy the other Tarte items I received but this was my most favorite item because I liked how well they blended. You got eight shadows and they are very neutral which Tarte’s fame is but it worked out since I wore this to work almost every time! It is so easy to use and man I am making dents in this pallet which has rarely done before. I am still using it and maybe it will be panned by next year?
Tacha Nourishing Face Masks: Next is the item that got me into the face mask craze and have a ton of. The Tacha face masks were in my first box back from being unsubscribed for two years and was glad these weren’t slimy like the one I tried years ago. These felt good and glad I got to try them. From all the brands I have tried masks from since I bought so many through Ipsy are Tony Moley and Mayflower.
Juvia’s Place Shadow Pallet: Need to take a break from the Boxy to mention something I have received in Allure and that is the six pan shadow pallet from Juvia’s Place. I have heard so many good things about their shadows and saw that this was an extra product in my box that I started to use it right away. I found these shadows extremely smooth in application and extremely pigmented that I was surprised how much they shown on my cotton ball when I was using coconut oil to clean off my makeup. I haven’t gotten anything else from the brand but will see in the future.
Marc Anthony 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Curl Cream: Next is a product from Marc Anthony and it’s their curl cream. I was glad to try this out since I needed something to help with my curls and this came along. It did help and when I got the full-size from Ulta it was disappointing because it came in a pouch! What the heck!? Marc Anthony just put it in a tube! Not so hard to ask! Speaking of this brand!
Marc Anthony Bye Bye Frizz Heat Protectant Cream: During January I think I got this in my Glam Bag and really loved it! This is a heat protectant cream and wishing it was still a cream because they only sell it as a spray. I found it better than the spray because it didn’t soak my hair as badly as the spray and my straightening iron had an easier time with this than the sprays.
Twisted Sister Curl Cream: Next is a product from a British Based brand called Twisted Sister and it’s their curl cream. When I saw I was getting this I fell in love immediately and got the full size. The full size came in an actual tube and it lasted me for months! I will be purchasing this whenever I get the chance!
Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara: Next is a favorite mascara and that is from Eyeko! I did enjoy some of the others I got from brands like Too Faced, Tarte, and more but this one takes the mascara cake! I liked how this was more in a squeeze tube both in sample and full-size form since I bought the full-size one through Ipsy’s Learn Page and I like how it curls my lashes the most with each application. It may be pricey but the curling action packs a punch!
Huda Beauty Obsessions Pallets: Next is a product from the Huda Beauty brand and it’s the Obsessions pallets. I bought the Smoke Obsessions as an add-on and got the Mauve one in one of my GB Plus boxes. These pallets are nine pan pallets and they are pretty small as in not too big or bulky like most pallets and they are easy to use as well. I do notice how the Mauve Obsessions is more red toned over just being purple and brown but not hating it though. I do love Smoke Obsessions since it’s a basic smoke pallet to work with and you can just put these in a makeup bag and travel with them. I can’t wait for my GB Plus since I picked the Ruby Obsessions pallet for my Choice item since I didn’t get to try the gem colored ones.
Dose of Colors Shadow Pallets: like with their liquid lipsticks I did enjoy these pallets too since I did get the Sassy Siennas as an add-on for BoxyCharm and got the Basic Browns as the pallet they picked. These shadows are much pigmented and loved each look for each work day I used these for since they are very matte and much pigmented. I hope Boxy Charm still gets these in boxes or at least keeps partnering with this brand because they have really good products!
Nomad Cosmetics Berlin Underground Pallet: Final item for this list and wanted to mention this one since something special happened. I didn’t hear about Nomad Cosmetics until I saw them in the regular Glam Bag and never got an item from them which I wanted to try them for months since I got back into them. I bought their highlighter pallet and liked it but this shadow pallet was amazing for the pigmentation! It is a very grungy pallet with a lot of Smokey shades with the Berlin theme going with it. Trust me I was thinking to the book Girl with the Red Balloon while using this pallet. I did do a yellow and black halo eye to go with my dark trainer from Pokémon for Halloween when hanging with friends. When I first got this pallet I did try to try it out and shown it in a pic without my new black wig and then wore my wig and posted it on Instagram and Nomad Cosmetics came and liked my picture! They are the first brand to like my photo with their product and I did thank them and they responded and I did ask them about their newer pallet I am interested in. I am in a low buy but will get it eventually in the New Year. Hold onto that. I am so glad GB Plus gave me this pallet because I wouldn’t have had Nomad Cosmetics wouldn’t have liked my pic.
Moda Five Brush Set: Final item, for real, is the Moda Five Brush Set that also came in my Boxy! I was surprised to get a five brush set since Moda Brushes are part and made by Royal and Langnickle who are famous for their paint brushes and I loved these brushes! I still have a few in my brush bag because of how sturdy they are. I know I have to put a few more into the jar to get washed but it is great to get a five piece brush set for all of my eye needs!

Favorite Collection by a Subscription: Gigi Gorgeous from November! Ipsy has created three makeup collections and the one I chose as my favorite is the one from Gigi Gorgeous. Tetris was a close second because their products were nice but I preferred the lip balm more from Gigi’s collection because it was more moisturizing. Yes, I got eye brushes with Tetris but I loved the face brushes more from Gigi due to how sturdy they are and do perform very well. I do like the bronzer and the setting powder a lot and the makeup bag for the mystery bag was even cuter. I wished they had that instead of the leopard printed bag for the bags in November because it would make more sense!

Well guys that is it for this post! I am glad to be back with BoxyCharm and got so many awesome things and with Ipsy and GB Plus the items even gotten better. Sorry Allure but I had to say goodbye to them because the items were not doing it for me and some of them I can just go to Target for and pay full price that way. I am hoping with next year that things with BoxyCharm would be great since they are starting to listen to their users even I complained about not getting the emails about the product choices which makes me mad since I wanted to choose one of the pallets I am getting for January. Hoping I get the warm one since I do have a ton of cool toned ones. Just saying! While Glam Bag I want more sheet masks to be in the bag since some of them are interesting and yes still got to use what I have and GB Plus not too much to say since they have been really good. So, 2020 here I come!

The Favorites Quadrant: July & August 2019

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

July and August 2019 Favorites!

August is ending and you know what that means! It is time for another bi-monthly favorites. This year has gone by fast and soon I will be celebrating a year moving away on my own from Orlando. I still remember how I was looking for places, packing, and so on. Even though that may happen again but now I am still at my place. Anyways, I do have a quite a few favorites but let’s start with my subscription review!

Subscriptions: BoxyCharm was great last month but not so great this month. I felt like that July had better products since I felt more at ease using what I got in there. I love the Butter London pallet because the colors are up my alley and they are so pigmented and easy to blend. I did use this in my No Brand Tag video due to how easy it is to navigate. I do use my Appeal pencil for work whenever I have a green eye look and did like the brushes but the foundation brush got gunked up easily after blending my foundation in. I do still have the other two where I sometimes use the smaller one to use on my under eyes and the crease one as a blending brush. I did finish the lip gloss because I felt that it was not much in the container but it did feel good on my lips and the mask was okay, not my cup of tea since I prefer the ones from Lush in Rosy Cheeks, Cup O Coffee, and Oat Fix. While August, I didn’t like it as much as July’s. I was happy to get a Becca product since that is the setting powder. I am using my NYX Translucent Pressed all over my face since I want to finish that up before I use my Wet N Wild one and the Becca one and I saw that Allure sneak peeked one from Laura Mercie in September so can’t wait for that one. I am glad to get powders in boxes because it saves me money at the store. I am using the Wonder Beauty Glow Ahead Oil every night to help with moisture and it’s not bad of a product either. The Tarte Big Ego Mascara is pretty good so far, I don’t have bad flakes like most other ones out there and did not touch my Pur Cosmetics mask due to the one I got from July. I did not use the false lashes since I don’t use them ever since I am using mascara and my lashes look fine on their own. I am hoping September is better since the sneak peeks have not revealed much so hoping it will be better.

Allure Beauty Box: I feel like I am enjoying this one as time goes on despite one month being a meh month so far which Gondras did make a good point that these boxes are like Loot Boxes since you don’t know what you’re getting or what everyone is getting. July’s was pretty good since it was a collaboration with Huda Katan who owns Huda Beauty. I love the liquid lipstick as always and still using the hair product to this day. I remembered the hair product samples running out so quickly but not this one and that’s a good thing. I will still give the lashes away. I did try using the Tony Moley mask but it was hard to get out of the packaging so I threw it out and just used a snail mask I already had and did put the eye pencil from Urban Decay into my liner bag. While this month’s box, I am enjoying the water cream since I do love using moisturizers. I am also using the eye cream before I put down any concealer and enjoying the Cargo lipstick. I think I lost the topaz glitter and did put my Benefit mascara in my big Caboodle. I can’t wait for September’s box to see how the products will go for me.

Ipsy: July and August were pretty good because I was able to get another eyeliner pen for work and of course enjoyed the curl cream from Twisted Sister. I did get a full size tube. I find it better than the Marc Anthony one and my curls just become more bouncy with this one. The Benefit Mascara is in my big Caboodle and did wear the Balm eye shadow with my Space Case shadow that is also lavender. I do like how they blended together. I may have to try out the full on Tea pallets from the Balm. I did put the Ciate London highlight I got in my Z Pallet with a magnet since I have one pallet for any face products I get. This did blend like a dream and very easy to apply. While August was also pretty good with the selection. I got two lip products, one which is a lip balm from Inc.redible and Adesse. I found the lip balm okay wished it was in a pot since it says “Jelly Shot” and I think an item in a pot over a stick. While the lip item from Adesse I need to try out still. I am enjoying the Coco Cabana cream which I’m using it on my hands since the soap at work is very drying and it helps with the moisture out. It does smell like coconut which is a good thing.

Glam Bag Plus: Glam Bag Plus for July and August was amazing and these two months I was able to get something I wanted and that was the Purlisse Green Tea Moisturizer which I have not opened yet since I still have primers to use and of course getting to try out more Wonder Beauty items, got the Mauve Obsessions pallet from Huda, and so much more. I was happy the most when it came to another Suva Beauty item which is the Hydrating Drops which I am planning to try out soon. I am also excited with the Balm pallet that I got this month due to it containing major hit products. I am going to be super excited about getting makeup bags with this subscription starting in October since Ipsy is growing and glad to be back with them since last year.

Favorite Pallet: Tarte Be Naturally You: I did get this item in a BoxyCharm but it seems like I am reaching it a lot more than usual. I feel as though that Tarte doesn’t get out of their neutral comfort zone but at the same time they have amazing eye shadows with the Amazonian Clay formula. I did get the Clay Play Vol. 2 recently since Ulta had a sale this month and since I am getting back into Tarte they seem to grab my money the most with pallets. I tend to use this pallet more for work related looks for any clothing that may have brown in the color mix or something that would match and yes there are the shimmer shadows but not everyone that is able to see at work notices. They are very blendable and glad to get this and will keep on using it.
Butter London Natural Goddess Pallet: Another favorite pallet is the Butter London Natural Goddess and also got this in BoxyCharm. This is my first Butter London item and glad to try them out this way and it is a pretty summery pallet due to the green and the teal in this pallet. I do use this for work if I need a pop of green and brown mix and a neutral teal look without going crazy for work. I did use this in my No Brand Tag video which is on YouTube and used the teal side for it. This is a pretty to use pallet where the shadows just line up who they are supposed to and glad to get some use out of this. I think I have dents already in these. Way to go Butter London!

Fave Hair Product: Twisted Sister Curl Activator Cream: Next is fave hair products and I have to give it to the Twisted Sister Curl Activator since this is better than the Marc Anthony Curl Cream that I tried from Ipsy. This was up for grabs as an Ipsy Shopper item and decided to get it after loving the sample I received. This does not make my curls feel sticky at all and the smell is good and glad it is not in a squeezy packet like the Marc Anthony. I prefer a squeeze tube so I can control it and for sanitation as well as product control. This was not even that expensive which I was worried about since it is a UK based brand. I am glad it is a drugstore priced brand and will be buying this.
Marc Anthony Bye Bye Frizz Hair Dryer Cream: I use this item as a heat protectant even with my straightening iron and it does help from damaging my hair even further. I am glad to use this more as a heat protectant since that one heat protectant cream I tried is a spray which I wish they kept it as a cream since you have more control with a cream over a spray. I do love the scent of this product and it does help keep my hair smooth.

Fave Lip Product: Maybelline Lip Ink Color: Next is a drugstore lip stick and that is the Maybelline Lip Ink Lip Colors. I got into these all thanks to Allure mentioning the one in Pioneer and had to get it. I picked it up through Shipt and worn it around work and got compliments. I do have one in Inspirer but this one is more drying. I think the City line is more drying or it’s just this one? I have to keep using it to see how well it goes but I think Pioneer is my favorite one.
Dose of Colors Liquid Lipsticks: I am enjoying the liquid lipsticks from Dose of Colors which I remembered starting getting one through BoxyCharm and then got it in their Charm Shop and now got one of the minis from Ulta. It looks like I will be getting more of these since they will be an item in the 21 Days of Beauty this time around and the reason why I like these is that they aren’t too heavy, smooth in application, and they smell great! I can’t wait to see what shades I can get my paws on this time!

Fave Blush: E. L. F. Primer Infused Blush in Always Rosy: Next is a blush since it’s been forever ago I have mentioned one and I give it to the E. L. F. Primer Infused Blush in Always Rosy. I heard so many good things about these blushes and had to try them out and found a Free Shipping sale and got one of them. I decided to go with Always Rosy since it is my go to blush shade and man this is such an easy to apply shade and you don’t have to go wild on it either for pigmentation. I know E. L. F. can be hit or miss but this product is a hit in my book!
Alomar Blush Pallet: I got one of these in BoxyCharm and there are times it’s hard to resist grabbing it to use. This is a great product for the price if you bought it for retail price since it is around $13 for three shades. You can mix and match but I like to use the middle shade in Perdicio I think that it’s called. Glad to enjoy this item.

Fave Brow Product: Mellow Brow Pencil in Dark Brown: I know it sounds weird but all thanks to getting this in BoxyCharm I have been loving it! I have been using this to set my brows after using my Control Freak brow gel and my Tame & Frame in Chocolate on the weekends. I like how the tip makes the product go on smoothly and it is not too hard nor pull the brows. I hope to try more items since I did get an eyeliner pen by these guys in Ipsy I believe?

Fave Sponge: Juno & Co.: I heard about these guys through Hot Mess Mama MD on YouTube and when Ipsy das doing an Ipsy Offer with a set of sponges and a cleaner I had to try this out and man tried and using a sponge from them currently and oh man! It was not a regret! This blends my foundation so well and even the solid cleanser is pretty good too! This sponge is very well made and porous and easy to make the foundation glide with the flat side, the butt side and now using the opposite side from the flat one to blend my shadow more. I have to keep on using this one and also try the other two.

Fave Book: Break the Day by. Lara Adrian: Yes, Lara Adrian finally released book 16 of the Midnight Breed series! I was waiting for this one and even happier since it was following Rafe this time due to the end of the last one, Claimed in Shadows, shown how he got hurt and almost cost the lives of the Breed and their mates alongside the new baby that Rinata and Nikolai brought into the world. Not only that we get to see another Breed female by the name of Devani and I find her pretty awesome since she wanted to go for music but a tragedy caused her to go after Opus Nostrim to avenge her family’s death. I think I prefer how the Breed Males and Females work with each other like this like how Chase and Tavia did adoring the final book of the first ten books and wishing they keep bringing more Breed females since of course Tavia is looking for more of them. Who knows what they will uncover next. Apparently 17 is coming out next year and can’t wait for that one either. I may read the Dark Hunters since that expands on the Hunter Breed where Hunter came from and we already had two novellas that dealt with two of them and of course we did get how Hunter hooked up with Corinne in Book 9.

Well, that’s it for now guys! I will have another book review up for you next1
Until next time!

THe Favorites Quadrant: May & June 2019

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

May and June Favorites 2019!

It’s that time again and that’s my favorites for May and June! We’re already halfway through this year and already heading into July which I can’t believe it. Before I know it it will be one year since I started working an actual job! Let’s see ‘what I liked and what I thought about my subscriptions!

Subscription Thoughts:

Well, these two months were really good for BoxyCharm, Ipsy, and Glam Bag Plus while May was very disappointing for Allure and June was better for it. All I have to say is that to any box subscription that may tumble onto this post I do have to say is that not everyone likes to self-tan!!! I know we all want to look like people in California and Florida with their bronze tanned skin but not everyone likes to do that even with how it can be patchy and the process to get to having that even tan is even more annoying. I am still thinking back to Good Luck Charlie where Teddy had her tanning session with a spray one messed up because Charlie took the timer that she was using and turned orange. I even remembered a pic that Jen put in of a girl having a really dark hand on her mouth and her loved ones thought she was being kidnapped but no she screwed up the tan. Again, I am not into self-tanning and I don’t want to look like an orange at work and have my co-workers ask me, “What happened to you?” When I have really nice light to medium skin and to me we should embrace our skin tone sometimes me of those chemicals can be dangerous. I did toss out the two San Tropes tanners that Allure and BoxyCharm sent me including the glove that came with the one from BoxyCharm because I am not using it neither the face mist from Allure because I prefer keeping my foundation shade thank you very much. So, rant over! There is one product I am really loving and that is the Tarte Be Naturally You pallet from this month’s BoxyCharm! I have been using this pallet for work looks and I love how pigmented and smells amazing! I keep my pallet on top of my work makeup box. On my vanity. I was also excited for these boxes because May was my first Glam Bag Plus and so far my first two months they have been amazing until one item and that is the Girllactic lip balm pencil that I was using. I have been using lip pencils as lip colors and well when I wore this underneath my lip pencil and my lip gloss from Allure this month it felt a bit drying, well too during and it felt a bit numbing. Even though I love lip balms and everything but I feel like these are a bit drying and whishing it felt like more of one those lip crayons from Wet N Wild and other brands that are more of a chubby stick not a sharpening pencil. Plus the glitter effect makes it more drying and I hope they could change these to the chubby stick instead. I am glad to try this brand finally and same with Suba Beauty with the Hydroliner which is an interesting product and glad to see what it was about. It was easy to apply because it was not like liquid liner and I didn’t feel it run either. It was very controlled due to it using water rather not being a liquid liner. I hope I get to try these more for being such a great and interesting product and I don’t feel like Benji from Good Charlotte. And lastly, I did the collaboration with Tetris that Ipsy had done for June because it shows that we can love video games as beauty enthusiasts and I do like the items in the collection except the lip balms because they’re drying. The shadows are great and blendable and I do love the brushes! I did get two of my friends the shadow pallets and they love them which makes me happy! I hope more brands do this because we’re all nerds! I know Wet N Wild will be doing Pac Man this year not sure when but I know it’s soon. I can’t wait to see what July brings me for my boxes!

Beauty Faves:

Maybelline Studio Fix Setting Spray: First is a making setting spray and it’s from Maybelline and that is their Face Studio Setting Spray. I found this through Shipt on Target and decided to get it. What I like is this is bigger than the Wet N Wild ones because I have to get two of those to last me two months but this one has lasted me since the end of May to now and we’re going into July. I do have a drawback though where I do like how it makes my makeup stay and it doesn’t feel so itchy but if you spray too close your makeup becomes splotchy! Gondras noticed since he moved in and then a supervisor did and man it was embarrassing! I did start spraying a bit farther but what sucks is that I can’t find this anymore on SHipt. I did find it on CVS’ selection but it was a different one from this but too pricey. Here in Florida the CVS locations upcharge like crazy when I get most of this lesser than them. I did start getting NYX again so I am going to see how that goes.

Fair’s Cucumber and Witch Hazel Toner: The past month and a half or more I have been into toners again all thanks to the Momond Rose Toner I got in Allure and decided to look into the drugstore ones since that one is $30 and this one I have been using is $7.50 at Target and it does smell weird but it does help my skin. It does have a nice cooling effect and use it twice a day to keep my skin healthy. I do have their rose one to see how that goes and glad I got into toners again!

Formula 10.06 Rescue Me Blemish Treatment and Mark Gel: Next are two skin care favorites from Formula 10.06 or was it 1006? Anyways, I got into this brand all thanks to Ipsy sending me the Three Times Sublime in one of my bags and fell in love with that which next post I will be doing the brands I bought from my subscriptions. These two items are gels to help with acne blemishes and spots after they dissolved and it has been helping out so far. The Rescue Me gel even smells very good and I put that on before the Mark Gel so it would help with shrinking the blemishes and their marks that they would leave behind. I am glad this brand is good for sensitive skin people which is pretty important to me. I will keep on using this brand.

Three Quarter Sleeve Tops: Next is a fashion item and that is three quarter sleeve tops. Since I’m working it’s important to dress the part and I’ve been shopping around on Amazon for work clothing and I find it a lot of fun lately since I’m doing it for myself and no one is doing it for me. I remembered one time I asked my mom to get me clothes for interviews and any work experiences and I made the mistake of saying get some with some designs and got stuff with prints from the 1980s from what Gondras had told me. Heck, a pair of pants was a good example with the orange and red patterns. I should have stuck with saying solids and when I started to shop for myself I started with getting more solid colored tops and bottoms which I have gotten a nice pencil skirt on Amazon and just got a navy one since I loved the white one so much. I like the three quarter sleeve tops the most because they’re really comfortable and come in a variety of colors and styles. I have three with scoop necks and one with a V-neck to it and man I love them! I am going back for two more of the V-necks and glad I found these!

Well guys, that’s it for this bi-monthly favorites! I will be doing a post on brands I buy from that I have gotten in my subscriptions since there are some I do buy from them due to how I have enjoyed what I’ve sampled. SO, stay tuned for that!

The Favorites Quadrant: March & April Favorites 2019

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

March and April Favorites 2019!

I know I am kind of late but to be fair I have been working a lot and things have taken place during the weekend like seeing Avengers End Game, going to an afternoon tea for my first time which was fun, and so much more. Plus, Omni Fandom Expo did happen and I was ill afterwards! Let’s see what I have this time!

Convention Favorites:

Favorite Item to Purchase: The Taiyaki Pack! Back in 2015 there was a vendor that sold these little taiyaki cakes and they were in many different flavors and even went back Sunday when they were discounted and they are so good! They came back this year and I got their sample pack. I think I liked their peanut butter anything ones because they add more flavor to them and there was even one that was white chocolate and peanut butter which was delicious. I highly recommend if they come back to Omni next year because the person who makes them is one of the sweetest people I ever met.

Favorite Moment: Interviewing Sawa and Nobu! This year we got to not only interview Sawa but also Nobu too. The have been friends for a long time which was pretty cool. I wanted to interview Sawa since last year’s convention and didn’t get to and glad that we got that chance this year since the first convention you don’t get that chance but the next year you do and you are more prepared even though after going to their panel Saturday night I redid my questions. I do have one of her stickers on my Chrome Book actually and may stick the other on my MAC Book Air once it arrives. Also having nobu was an extra treat since we did talk to the radio station person who worked as their handler and they asked if it was okay if Nobu would join in and GOndras said, “Yes!” It was great even knowing that he is an Overlord fan like us! We will be putting up the interview on here for you guys to see and now we have interviewed a Japanese recording artist and added to our musical interviews!

New Promo Material: Our shirts and pamphlets! Since Holiday Matsuri 2018 I was pretty much brainstorming in re-branding especially with the stuff we pass out and also what we wear. I felt that no one was taking us seriously due to us cosplaying, well me and Gondras, and it was time to take that advice on dressing the part of being press. So this year for Omni we had shirts with our name, our new tag line, and of course the logo and the website on the back since we are doing the press booth which was an okay feature which you may have read our review. Our buddy Evan did like our matching shirts and not only that it was more comfortable than a costume because we went lightweight with this and it wasn’t really cold which I was worried about since I froze my butt off as Rarity last year. Plus, Gondras didn’t feel that hot as he had as the Fourth Doctor either. And of course to add to our promo material are our pamphlets. Ever since what had happened with Zach Callison last year there were times where some managers didn’t take us seriously with just a business card and our cosplay either. So that is why we decided to change things up and GOndras did a really good job in designing them and got them printed out and gave one to Paul St. Peter while running into him since we did mention him this first time. Not sure what we will do next if we will change them up for Ranger Stop but I definitely want to take on other stuff from Custom Ink since they have given me really good customer service and did really good sighted support, heck the girl that helped me order the t-shirts loved our logo!

Favorite Hotel: Florida Hotel! I have to give Florida Hotel the title for Favorite Hotel because this was a very awesome stay! We never stayed at this hotel but have visited the mall and since Gondras and I have moved it was better to do the stay instead of commuting back and forth. We did two nights and had five people and it worked out, no one was loud, no toothpaste tubes borrowed, plus the hospitality spreads throughout the mall! As in, when we visited NYX we had a worker come up to us and asked if we were okay, do we need anything else, heck even gave me makeup and skin care advice because she did ask about my foundation and to tell you the truth I didn’t get that at the other location in Orlando. I definitely suggest checking the Florida Mall one out. It’s still also tempting to go into Lush since we smelled it all the time even heading for the food court. And another part of hospitality is that they text in order to check up on how you’re doing with your stay. I also found the hotel easy to get around because it’s not too crowded nor too many staircases or other obstacles like I had with the World Center. I highly recommend this hotel, they are renovating some areas which they let people know on banners and checking in and out is easy, plus there are more baggage carts even on check out day since that was crazy during Matsuri!

Subscriptions Thoughts:

March: March was all about rose themed items which would have made sense for FValetine’s Day but since spring has arrived it did also make sense for that. My BoxyCharm was really delayed like everyone’s and was happy to finally receive the box. I did enjoy the Cover FX pallet since that was an easy to use pallet due to having the brightening and setting powders in the middle and you have the blush on the right and the contour on the left and two highlighters above the each of them. I did like Monika from Ofra more than Havana Nights. If you see our Omni videos, I did wear Havana Nights but that smeared all over my face and was wondering, “Why is this happening when I have better luck with other colors/” I realized it’s a wet formula, I am not sure if it melted in delivery or something but the one in March’s box was more drying and stayed better on my lips. The Wonder Beauty Pell off Mask is not my favorite at all! I don’t like how it feels like glue on my face even as a thick layer and there are times where I miss peeling off product. My skin did feel good after taking it off but this is not a good product since peeling can cause your face to lose elasticity. I do like another product by these guys in another box but this is not the favorite one. The Moda brushes, I only used the highlighter one actually because I already was using a powder brush at the moment. People said that this brush was flimsy but it wasn’t in my opinion. I did enjoy putting highlighter on my cheeks with this since it does give a nice air brushed look. I definitely recommend these brushes! And finally, I did try the mascara and it’s pretty good because it did add a nice slight curl to my lashes. Definitely will be using this mascara as time goes on.

March was also brining in a new box for me and that is Allure Beauty Box! I have been reading Allure articles all thanks to getting them in my email and I find it very interesting as a magazine and when I heard about their box I decided to take a try finally and subscribed in March. They did say I would be getting different items than long time members which is good to know and did like the idea that these were luxury products that Allure has mentioned in their pages and of course more indie brands even drugstore sometimes comes in these boxes and glad to try out what I got. One item I almost got the full size but didn’t and that is the Momond Rose Toner which you can get at Ulta. This was a really good smelling toner and it did bring moisture to my face every night and every morning before I did my makeup for work. I did get back into toners and did pick up a cucumber and witch hazel one from Fair’s since my rose one from the same brand was taking a bit in shipping it pretty much did the same thing in the moisture and Fair’s is more suited to sensitive skin people like myself. I am glad to get back into toners and hoping to see what other skin care Allure would bring since they also sent me Aquea Blue Tansy Oil is something I am still using! Even though it says to pump some into your hands or was it cotton pad but this was a roller ball. I do use this after my toner every night to add some moisture and it does smell really good. Good thing is that people with Sen Sensitive skin also can use this product too which is good. I only have used the Amica Hair Mask once already and can’t really say too much about it, the Tarte Quick Dry Lip Paint I didn’t really like so I tossed it, I also tried out the Model Co. shadow trio and found it okay not too much to say about it. And the Wonder Beauty mascara which I got a full size of is something I really enjoyed! It makes my lashes really curly and can see why I prefer this over the face mask. And oh yeah, the Tanya Kreux brow gel, I would say even this got me to re-purchase my favorite NYX Control Freak one but I found this pretty good but just okay. It did keep my brows in place but glad to get my NYX one back.

Ipsy was a bit of a disappointment because I had two items missing and they did send them to me which were the Space Case shadow in Alien Love Child as a deluxe size and the Tarte Man Eater mascara. I did like the mascara since I had heard good things about that one and it did go with my Tarte Toasted pretty well. It did curl my lashes pretty well and did give some volume. Not sure if I would purchase the full size, time will tell. I gave away my Yensa foundation sample to the Personal Management instructor and she loved it! She thanked me every time she saw me and told me that she got the full size of it and saved her money which is a good thing. I am glad that she did enjoy that product and figured it would come in use even when she teaches makeup which she does. I am also finding it awesome on Ipsy when they mention Jennifer Yen that they include, “Former Power Rangers villainess!” Since she was in Light Speed Rescue! Yes, she is one of the many people I would love to interview in the future, hoping she does become a guest even if she is no longer an actor. I mostly used the Royal and Langnickle brush I got as a under eye setting brush because it fits so well with my under eyes and it blends my NYX Translucent Powder very well! The Ciate London gloss was very lightweight actually, I didn’t feel it on my lips and I think is on it on top of other lip products for an added sparkle. And I finally found that PUR afterglow powder, I haven’t used it yet though! While the Huda Beauty Smoky Obsessions and the FAHRA brushes I got as add ones are really good! I love the blendability that the brushes have and the Smoke Obsessions work pretty well as eye shadows!

April: April seemed to be a bit weird with what I got in my Allure box. Even though Carly Bible was collaborating with the magazine this time but I did get a few different items and that included the Juvia’s Place shadow pallet and the L. A. Splash eye liner. I found it weird that Carly said that everyone was supposed to get a Laura Gellar eye liner but apparently mine was a variation since I am new to the box. It is a brown marker and it works well with my work outfits since I do have variations of brown shadows in my work makeup kit. While the Juvia’s Place pallet is something new for me to try since I was wondering about the brand since people on YouTube talked about it and how great the shadows are. I will have to see for myself. I did get the Vida Liborata towels with the self-tanner on it but threw them away since I don’t self-tan. I know it gives a nice glow but to me it’s not really necessary when you can just get sun at any time and even during the summer you can tan anytime. I did put the Biaggio Heat Protecting Cream in my cabinet for whenever I do use my hair dryer or maybe use it with my straightener. I didn’t get the Anastasia Beverly hills lipstick which made me sad but I did get the Natasha Denona shadow in a bronze shade which is not too bad. I did get a Morphe brush which I was surprised when I rarely see Morphe mentioned on Carly’s channel or in Allure. I was hoping the Luxie one she was going to have in the box since I do love Luxie but this brush is not bad since I do use it in my crease when I interchange my brushes while doing my makeup.

April’s BOxyCharm was really good this month because it was a really good variety of products. First is the Appeal Holographic lip gloss which was an interesting product. I thought it was super sticky at first but it got better as time went on and even put it on top of other lip products to make it more fun. The PUR Festival Pallet was also a great pallet. I got to wear it once and did a brown shadow look with it and my fiancé thought I was trying to make my brows longer with it since it looked like I extended a bit too far. I did find the shadows easy to work with and they do smell amazing in the pallet too, like I had another Too Faced Bronzer. If you guys see this pallet I do recommend picking it up. The Luxie Brush Trio we got in this box was also amazing since Luxie is one of my favorite brush brands at the moment. I would so collaborate with these guys since brushes are an easy tool for me to use and I can use them for other things. I find the smaller brush easy to use and I sometimes use it to put my under eye concealer if I can’t find one of my other brushes to do so. I do use the contouring brush for my contour time to time when I am not working. I am not sure the other brush, maybe it’s buried deep in my brush pouch but hey these are still good brushes for what you get! Next is the Artist Cotour powder and man this powder makes me glow very nicely. Yes, it’s a loose highlight and I did take the little sifter off because I can’t stand those things so I take them off whenever I get a loose product. I do tap off my highlighter brush before applying and do blend it into my face with a tiny brush afterwards and foamy; u the Bodyography eye pencil which I put with my other eye liner pencils. I have so many of them and glad to have backups!

And Ipsy for April was better actually! As in nothing missing like my extra items which were the Ferma Beauty Contour brush which is in my brush pouch for blush, my Laura Sanchez Moods Shadow and Face pallet, and the Violet Voss Fu Size Holy Grail pallet. I have enjoyed the items I got this month and they include the Marc Anthony Virgin Coconut Oil and She Butter Curl Cream which has been helping my curls from frizzing up. I do enjoy this brand a lot and I do have a pair to mention from this brand down below. I also enjoyed the Balmjour Balm Stain which it felt so light and does stay in place all day. The nail polish from Pretty Woman which I put on last night is holding up pretty well and it’s a very nice shade of purple! Let’s see how it holds with my speed of light typing during the week when I type emails and other things! The Tarte Double Duty Primer was pretty good and it did moisturize my face until I ran out. While the Billion Dollar Brows brush, I am still using the Moda highlighter brush and will get to this one in the future.

Well, those are my box subscription updates. So far so good some of the products did work while others didn’t and glad to be in these things. I did join Glam Bag Plus and so far the items I am getting are awesome and can’t wait to receive it! BoxyCharm May is becoming more interesting as it gets closer to shipping time since the sneak peeks are variation items for the most part. While Allure is mostly summer time with beach fit products since people do start coming to Florida for the beaches in May and go through September. I hope not to get the self-tanning product in this box. And Ipsy, if you’re wondering, I am also getting pretty awesome products!

Makeup Favorites:

Shampoo and Conditioner: Marc Anthony Bye Bye Frizz Combo! First up is favorite shampoo and conditioner and these two are what I’ve been using from Marc Anthony’s Bye Bye Frizz line. I have been loving these and now winding down and the claims is that it gets rid of frizz and that is true! This helped with the frizzy spots I have had for many years especially on the right side of my head where it was so dead and damaged! When I got these two I used it right away and man my curls are bouncing back! Even the Hared Drying cream also helps. If you have not tried out Marc Anthony and your hair is frizzy, definitely get this shampoo and conditioner because it is worth the $6+ for them. I am trying out the hair growth one next.

Favorite New Release: Jeffree Starr Blue Blood Pallet! I have to admit this and that is I loved the Blue Blood pallet from Jeffree Starr. As you know I was in conflict in wanting to buy from his band due to some of the drama but decided it was time to set it all aside and buy something anyways and when I saw the review on this pallet that is when I decided I would buy it. The shadows are much pigmented and they are so colorful in the pallet. I have done two looks which the first was a video by using more of the blues and one of the browns while I did a teal look using Unicorn Blood which I went back for and Deep Freeze from the Skin Frosts which I also went back for and they turned out awesome! I will go back for Blood Sugar but for now I do have other shadow pallets to play with!

Favorite Go To Pallet: Custom Work Pallets! So, I made some custom eye shadow pallets for work and placed them into magnetic pallets, I had to replace one of them since it broke and so far I always loved going to these! Even though I still have my makeup bags with some of my work essentials but these are the two that I tend to go to the most since they are made by me. I tend to have clothing in different colors going from green, to blue, to some purple, even brown, and I love these pallets since they aren’t over bearing, not too expensive to put together and just wearable shades. In one pallet I have Coastal Scents, one blush from Coastal Scents as well and got the shadows and blush during their Hot Pots sale, and a blush from Lottie London as a sample an a set I got from Ipsy’s offers and put a magnet on the back. While the other pallet is filled with nine Color Pop shadows because it is the smaller pallet I have. I would also suggest doing something like this if you are going to work and need a fast pallet to use in the morning like I have. Plus, my pallets include shades almost similar to the Naked Basics 1 pallet since that is now discontinued and these are perfect backups with the few brown and grey-like shades.

Favorite Clothing:

Easy Spirit Shoes: I have to put these on the list because recently I got a stipend to get more work clothing to wear and one thing I needed the most according to my dad and Gondras were shoes especially ones I could interchange. So, on a trip to JCPeney at the mall we ended up finding three pairs of Easy Spirit shoes in my size and in navy, tan, and black. These are so comfortable that I don’t have to take them off like my old flats from Walmart. They are like clogs almost but flats and they are closed toe too. I know most places require heels but I can’t do heels at all because of my flat feet. Heck, I even left a pair of wedges at home because I hated them. As in back in Orlando!

Favorite Music:

Sawa’s Phul: After interviewing her, I downloaded Sawa’s album from ITunes since it’s been forever since I listened to it. I do have a physical copy buried in my storage compartment of our couch and glad I got it on ITunes since it also got deleted from my phone with the last IOS update. My favorite song will be always “Half Moon” because I love how she sounded in this song and it’s a great song to chill to as well. I would suggest checking her out.

Solfa 2016 from Asian Kung Fu Generation: I and Gondras have been fans of these guys even when we started going out and that is Asian Kung FU Generation. I was meaning to download this album since it was the first album we had all thanks to someone we knew burned us a copy of the CD and Gondras blasted it every time we went out. Now that the band has a new version it brings back so many memories of our relationship starting even “Loop & Loop” is one of our songs even when we realized they are almost like Weezer since their songs are pretty emo if you were to translate them. The song we always love and is my wake up alarm for work every morning is “Re: Re:” which is the theme song from the anime Erased. I remembered the original version being heavier but this version I prefer more since it shows how much they have grown as a band. I still love “Loop & Loop” since this was switched to track three on the newer version which fits since after “Rewrite,” which all classic FMA fans know that was one of the theme songs, you go into happy song. I hope they do perform in America again because we were sad that they were at Anime Expo two years back and hoping they come back!

Well that is it for this post! I know a very long one but hey felt good to mention these things! What is next? My post on the brands I have not cancelled completely.

Favorites Quadrant: January & February 2019

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back to Nerdy SHique Universe! It is time for my Favorites of January and February 2019!

Favorites: January & February 2019!

Favorite Device: Tap! First is something new to my collection of adaptive devices and it’s known as the Tap. It’s something that was new last year and didn’t get to see it during the NFB National Convention last year and finally got to see it during A. T. I. A. in Orlando which me and the rest of my co-workers along with students went to to check out the new tech companies were making. It is a glove where censors are on your knuckles and you get to tap letters and words and get to learn through their apps. It does get frustrating even with some of the letters but after completing the level becomes more satisfying. It doesn’t cost much either, it’s $199 and you do get a coupon from the website by spinning a wheel or going to an event which I did get when going to A. T. I. A. which gave me $25 off. I will give a full on review and a demo soon so stay tuned!

Favorite Low Tech Device: Braille Color Tags! Another item in the adaptive tech department is something I’ve been using with my work clothes and they are Braille Color Tags and glad I love these. They are tags with letters that represent colors like the letters b, l, l which means light blue in Braille. I was introduced to these through one of the other teachers at work and she gave me a small packet to try out and found them through the Braille Superstore and picked up a bag which I ended up two after they had to send them again when they got returned due to not having my apartment number. I did order them again and now I have a lot of labels to use. These are cheaper on Braille Superstore than Maxi Aids and you do get free shipping. What you can do with these is either sew them on or just pin them with a safety pin, which I use the safety pins and you barely notice them while wearing something. They are also washable. Also, I would suggest saving the webpage with these because it gives you a guide of which tag stands for what so you wouldn’t get confused. I do love with green, blue, purple, and pink they do have an l and a d to distinguish dark and light versions of the color. I will definitely buy more of these.

Beauty Box Wrap Up: Since I am back with Boxy and now about to get Allure Beauty Box, it’s time to talk about the items I got and what I think!

January Ipsy: January’s Ipsy was not bad since I felt like the items were not bad of choice. I did like the Ella & Eden eye shadow in Willow due to how well it blended and went on very smoothly with a brush. I did see how much the single was from this brand and it is a little pricey but what you can do with a higher end brand. I may get Willow again since it’s a nice burgundy shade and can go with my burgundy outfits. The Hempz lip balm is okay due to how drying it feels on my lips. I prefer my Lip Smackers over this item because with my Lip Smackers they go on more smoothly when this was more of a gel over a stick. I was hoping to get it as a stick but seeing that the ingredients included various oils I can see where it was in the tube. I will use it up though. I haven’t used the Color Club nail polish yet but will get to it eventually. I did see a set for sale but not in my kind of shades but hey I will be looking forward to this one. The Illamasqua eyeliner, on the other hand, I love it! It’s a dark brown for it being a nude liner but it does go well with my work makeup. It’s hard to find a nude liner in the stores anymore and I am glad that Ipsy gave this one out in January and hoping to get more products by these guys. And I lost my Balm Alternative Rock blush. I don’t ’now what had happened but it went missing. I did buy the pallet itself and was able to use the blush that way and man it’s much pigmented. I highly recommend The Balm as a brand and I still want to get their Nude Beach pallet.
February Ipsy: This month was a better bag and I got the Doucce Graphic Eyeliner pen. Funny thing is that this was also in the Allure box for February but didn’t subscribe to that until today. Glad I got it in this bag. It glided on pretty well for a marker and I just do pretty thin lines since I don’t want to have too bold of line going into work every day. Glad to get this one! Marc Anthony Strengthening Grow Mask is something I have just tried tonight for my first time. I noticed how my hair is really soft after using this product but need to use it more to get the full benefits. Eyeko Lash Alert mascara was amazing for a small sample. It did separate my lashes and curled them up like no other and I am glad to get a full size one through Ipsy through their Shopper page. I hope they give more mascaras because it took them almost a year to give me one. Please keep them coming! Inra Cosmo Nail Polish in Pulse is an easy to chip formula. I think I am either harsh with my nails or the formula can’t stay on even with top and base coat. By the next day all my nails started chipping which made me mad. I will redo my nails to see if the color will stay this time if I don’t cook or do the dishes or even with the next day. Laqr & Company PH Gloss was okay! I can’t see the difference since I can’t see myself wearing the color in the mirror I do notice how it’s barely on my lips but it does go on pretty well.

All I have to say that these two bags starting the year weren’t that bad for what they have sent me when it came to products. I did use them all even though I did get the pallet where the Balm blush came from. I can’t wait what March brings!

Boxy Charm:

January 2019: The Biaggio Leave-In Conditioning spray was a great item. I do like how soft my hair was after spraying this every time I shampoo or dry shampoo to keep my hair going frizzy. It also had a nice smell to it which is a great thing. It was saddening to see it being finished and tossed out because I loved this product for what it was. Next is the Tacha Face Masks and these kept my face moisturized. Ever since I moved to the coast my skin has changed over time and it was even drier due to the cold weather that always came in throughout December and January. These masks helped my skin from going cray and did moisturize it very well and it was good they included two masks instead of one. All thanks to these I did start purchasing sheet masks and so far so good my skin is calming down even if I am using two weeks at a time to keep my skin from going crazy. I have loved the Ofra Everlasting Liquid Lipstick for the longest time and I got it in the shade Havana Nights which is one of Kathleen Lights’ collaborations and she did help with creating this box. It has a new packaging design where it’s a box shape rather than a round tube and loving it better this way since it makes it more unique. I wear this at work sometimes or when I am not at work other times so it is still a favorite! I got a Star Lux eyeliner again but didn’t use it yet since I do have other black eyeliners to get through. Finally, the Tarte Rain Forest of the Sea Vol. 3 pallet! I never have gotten any other pallet from Tarte until this one which came in my Boxy. It is a mini pallet with eight shades and it is pretty good for travel. I did use this in my last Makeup Storytime video and it did blend pretty well. I hope to use this pallet more and glad to get it since it looks like another volume of this line will be out soon and hope to get it in the box.

February 2019: This was an okay box with what I got this month. First is the Touch & Soul No Poreblem Primer. I found this item not being a favorite because I felt like it was too dry for my liking. I love more of a Dewey primer since my skin is so dry and yes it claimed to do that but not enough. I felt like it dried to fast before I put any foundation on top so not a great product for me. I think a person with oily skin should get this primer over someone with dry skin. The Too Faced Better than Sex mascara was not my favorite as a sample but it worked a lot better for me as a full size because it did not flake. I think it’s because the formula in the sample is not the same in full size and I can see that very easily when it flaked more in the sample than the full. I did wear this mascara on Valentine’s Day when I did a look with the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar pallet and someone at work did compliment on how my eyes looked. Next the Pretty Vulgar Highlighter was a pretty good highlighter and was pretty nice to apply. I am so glad to try this brand out this way because I have heard good things and good to try it through a subscription like this. It is pretty pricey for what you get but glad to get it in a subscription and good to know how well the product works. Next the Clean Bee Face Wash from Pharmacy. I never tried anything from Pharmacy before until this product. I thought it was okay for what it was but if I use any other skin products it causes a bit of a weird sting to it because of how it was working afterwards and did feel a slight warm sensation to my skin. I am not sure if it’s due to the adding on my Clearisil face wash and face pads that are causing this but I do notice it too while using my E. L. F. moisturizer the next morning where it has a slight sting to it. I am glad I will only use this product just once from this box because yes it does work but I don’t like the feeling afterwards. Finally, the Trestique Lip Glaze and Primer in English Rose! I was glad to try the full size of this item since I do have a pretty good lip primer already. This is pretty much the bigger size to the mini version and it does cost more due to the primer at the bottom. I do get the minis since they do work the same. This is a perfect makeup product for work since it’s not too intense.

Well, I preferred January’s box because I preferred the sheet masks more. I felt like I could use the products in that box more since the face items in February’s did give me a weird feeling afterwards especially the face wash. I did see what is coming in March’s box so far and can’t wait to see what I may get if there are more than one variation of the products since one of them you have to do your quiz since it deals with skin tone and I can’t wait to see what that will bring!

Sheet Masks: Yes to Tomatoes Acne Mask! I have been getting sheet masks for a month now and glad that I went through Ulta and bought a few first and did get a set of twelve through Ipsy and now waiting on one with not only sheet masks but also eye gels from Ipsy too. I do have to say I have tried one and that is the Yes to Tomatoes Acne mask. I know it’s weird for me to have one like this but I do have some spots on my cheeks and decided to try this one out first. I was afraid that it would give my skin a bad reaction but it didn’t. Years ago when I tried getting into skin care my mom tried to have me use a tomato scrub but it reacted badly with my skin. Using this was more refreshing and didn’t smell bad either. Next morning my zit patches caused them to come up and be more of a white head. It feels good and it did some wonders, I may have to get more of this mask to get more results.

Not So Favorite Mask: Yes to Coconuts Hydrating Mask! While getting the masks I chose I got another Yes to one and that is the one Yes to Coconuts and was supposed to be a hydrating one. This one gave me a bit of a burning sensation. I am not sure if it was due to the Clearisil face pads but it was kind of a bit burning and didn’t give me anything like a red mark either. It did die down as time goes on during the time I set it for. I don’t think I will get this one anymore since it did have that burning sensation. I hope the others don’t give me that since I have a few from Tony Moley and one from Memevox.

An Okay Moisturizer: E. L. F. Daily Hydrating Moisturizer! With my quest for trying out new moisturizers I have found the E. L. F. I have been using being a little okay for me. I found the packaging interesting where it is a tube with a pump and it is sometimes not able to have it come out as well so I have to pump it out three times to get it out evenly. Plus, I don’t feel like it’s not moisturizing enough after applying. At least next I will be trying something different.

New Eye Primer: MAC Pro Long Wear Paint Pot in Laying Low! Next is a MAC Paint Pot I do love and that is in Laying Low. I understand that people say Soft Ocher and Painterly are the best due to how well shadows lay on top since yellow tones and whites are the best for using eye shadow bases. What I find it interesting is that creamy beige also works out since NYX does have a beige eye base. I decided to try this out since I wanted to rotate the colors to see how it goes and it does work out very well. After putting on my shadows, it does give a smooth base and you do see the shadows very well. I think this made my shadows pop out more even when I did the Valentine’s Day look this year. I would say try it out if you don’t want to go for the other two since beige can Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back to Nerdy SHique Universe!

I would say try it out if you don’t want to go for the other two since beige can be a good color option.

Well, that is it for this list of Favorites! Next up is my review on RWBY Volume 6! I finally saw the end and I will tell you my thoughts! So stay tuned!
be a good color option.

Bests & Worsts of 2018!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds traveling the vast universe! It is time for the final post of 2018!

Bests & Worsts of 2018!

We are at that time again my friends and that is the bests and worsts moments, beauty items, movies, and so on of 2018! This year was a life changing year for me so let’s start with that!

New Job & New Home in a New Location! Well, last year I said 2018 was going to be my year of getting a job and hoping to move out and guess what? I just did that in November! I did get interviewed for the Adaptive Tech Instructor in Daytona and I got it! I have been a student at the Rehab Center I’m teaching at and glad that I got to move up and doing it in something I wanted to teach and that is Adaptive Tech which I use on a daily basis especially with writing Nerdy Shique Universe by using JAWS. I knew I had to also move out for this job because I can’t drive and got my own place and loving it! Me and Gondras are sharing it so he will be moving in with me so we can be a full on couple, well engaged couple here together. We will be commuting back to Orlando for conventions since we do have Omni Fandom Expo in March and also Ranger Stop if we get another press badge since we did enjoy that one too. There are conventions here in Daytona too but haven’t heard from them much. I have to get back in contact with them since one is a writing convention and there are some authors on my Net Galley shelf that will be appearing there. How do I like living on my own? Well, the good news is that it made my mental health a lot more easier because it was stressful living in a big city where the job market is still unsure about hiring blind people even in call centers and I did try going for volunteering at the Lighthouse but that didn’t go through as planned for their Adaptive Tech Department. Glad I am working in it and plus I have changed dramatically since I did take a Self-Esteem & Adjusting to Blindness class which helped me understand more and understand myself when it comes to adjusting to being blind. Plus, getting to cook my own food feels a lot better too since I did go through back seat cooking with my parents and it caused some stress too, even when I made potato salad and wanted to follow the recipe but mom wanted me to do it our way. I did get to make her black beans and it felt like home even with the Adobo seasoning for my pork chops. Plus, I get a bigger closet too which made me happy along with smaller furniture than what I had in my old room at my parents’ place. Not only that, transportation is also better here because you have more bus stops to get to and the paratransit is way better, not only that the Lift drivers are very friendly! So yeah, I am at a better place in life, I have a great job teaching, now I can write my book in peace as well since I did re-start it again. I know, this is becoming annoying when I should have finished this year. Well, living on the coast will help me out since my first two books were done while I was a student. Let’s cross our fingers!

Being Certified In JAWS! Next is another great aspect this year and that is being JAWS Certified! I have been using this software since 2010 and figured being certified in this software could help me get into the field of tech more and I was right about that. The test was hard and I had to study a lot of things from the Help Topics to knowing what the commands were, especially when they tested more on the Laptop Keyboard Commands versus Desktop, and so much more. I was glad to pass and now waiting on my certificate so it can be in my office!

Getting a Chrome Book! Speaking of tech, I did get a Chrome Book for myself this past month because I wanted to see about the operating system and since my mom returned hers after having it for a few weeks, I really wanted to see about its built-in screen reader after seeing the ones on display at the NFB National Convention. So far so good it has been working out because of how the commands are like JAWS but with a different modifier key. I have to play around more with it since I am creating a Chrome Book workbook on Excel to help me and any other instructors.

Getting to Go to the NFB National Convention! I finally got to attend the NFB National Convention for its last year in Orlando, which it will be in Vegas next year. It was an amazing opportunity since I went with the Jernigan First Time Scholarship, I tried for National Scholarship but didn’t get it and now holding off on my Grad Certificate at the moment, and got to enjoy the convention. I even volunteered at the Braille Book Fair to get my interaction with younger kids better since I wasn’t doing it in the school system at the time. It was fun and getting to talk with a mom about how she is trying to get her child’s dexterity back after a stroke was even life changing too because it was sad hearing about it but I did suggest some things since Braille does help us out. I did get a new watch from this convention along with a few other items and got to meet the many other chapters in the United States and knowing that we’re not alone in the universe. I am going to try and join the chapter here in Daytona but due to how busy it has gotten unpacking and getting things for the apartment, even working, it will be a little bit before I join since being in the NFB shows that we can self-advocate and do have family and friends to help us. Oh right…let me save that for later!

Bests

Now to start with the bests since there are tons of awesome things going on this year and I have to give it to a lot of people and moments!

Game of the Decade: War Frame! First is Video Game of the Decade and I give it to War Frame! All this year Gondras has been playing this game and it is also up my alley with story since it’s a science fiction story where a metallic virus turns humans into robots known as War Frames and you as the Tenno pilot these robots to travel across the Solar System to take on the threats that want to take over. You also get more War Frames along the way, especially one where it was from a secret event story that dealt with one who had darkness take over. Now the game is where you go to Venus and get to explore the now icy planet to meet robot dwarves and even have hover boards. This game is very pretty and now that we have a new tv in our living room, yes good to say that, it will look even better. For anyone who has a Nintendo Switch, it’s going to be available for the Switch! Now you can play it on PC, PS4 and Xbox! Amazing work!

Movie of the Year: Avengers: Infinity War Part 1! Movie of the year goes to Avengers: Infinity War Part 1! We all know that it has come down to this where we see the Infinity Gauntlet is completed and now the Avengers must come together along with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos and his gauntlet. Can’t wait what Part 2 has to offer since we are getting Captain Marvel next since she will be important in that part!
Runner Ups: Black Panther and AquaMan! Can’t forget these two since they have appeared this year. Black Panther was another great movie from this year since we got to see an African-American superhero take center stage for his origin story in this movie. It also became a hit at box offices back in February and schools even took kids to see this movie as a field trip which was even more amazing. While AquaMan, on the other hand, was something DC should have done like with Marvel and start with the origin story movies before diving into the big team up films. I did enjoy Jason Mamoa as AquaMan and we get to see a mix of villains which made it more interesting. Nicole Kidman did a great job as his mom on top of it. Too bad we’re not doing MegaCon next year, interviewing Mr. Mamoa would be pretty sweet! Speaking of interviews!

Interview Opportunity: Apl DeAp from the Black Eyed Peas! Yes, another moment this year was getting to interview a Grammy winning artist and that is Apl DeAp from the Black Eyed Peas and it was during the NFB National Convention. When I first heard he was going to be performing at it, I had to get the interview and what surprised me was that he is visually impaired himself. He has Nystagmus which causes severe near sight and he did tell his story behind it which you can still see here and over on our YouTube Channel’s Interviews Playlist. It felt great to meet him and brought us another musical artist to our channel since we did interview Traverser not long after. If you get to meet Mr. DeAp, just say hi not wave because he did explain it’s hard for him to see it.
Runner Up: Trying Out Skype Interviews with J. Michael Tatum, Brandon McInnis, and Traverser! As you know being at a convention you can get busy as a guest or even as a musical artist your schedule gets packed before a show so that is why we went one step beyond with our interviews this year. We used Skype to interview J. Michael Tatum and Brandon McInnis, since there schedules were full during Holiday Matsuri 2017, and Traverser, since they were returning to the stage after three or so years. It shows how we got over the obstacle of not being able to interview people face to face and hoping to get more in 2019 since I have a list in mind for the year.

Anime: My Hero Academia! Speaking of Tatum! It is the Best Anime Category and this year it goes to My Hero Academia! GOndras did start watching it himself and then shown it to me and man it is one of the best dubs I have seen so far! It is like the movie Sky High but what if it’s an anime and your main character, Izuku, is not born with a Quirk and has one transferred to him by his idol, All Might! I can’t wait for the next season because the last season ended on a pretty good note.
Runner Up: Overlord! I have to hand the Runner Up position to Overlord because it is an anime series that deals with a video game you have never thought to be better than Sword Art Online. Why would I say that? Well, in Overlord, you get to see new worlds being built, characters going through certain adventures that help them get better in fighting, and not only that take over towns like a usual fantasy RPG. Plus, with the main character, Momonga, we not only see him in the game but see his player in the real world thinking about what to do next and how to interact with the party. I would say check this out if you can!

Male Performance in An Anime: Justin Briner in My Hero Academia I decided to include this after watching the anime and I give it to Justin Briner because he gave a stand out performance as Deku in My Hero Academia. He is a new voice to my ears and I have heard him in Team FourStar’s Final Fantasy VII Abridged as Cloud and trust me I was thinking to Cloud watching MHA A. I hope we get to interview him either over Skype or in person at a convention.

Female Performance in an Anime: Monica Rial in Shimonetta! I know, it’s a weird title but when Gondras shown me this one on Funimation Now I never thought it would be hilarious especially with Monica Rial as Ana. I bet how many takes it took for one certain line, if you are of age, watch it!

Best Supporting Role in an Anime: J. Michael Tatum in My Hero Academia! Final anime related thing and that is best supporting role and it goes to J. Michael Tatum when he played Tenya Ida in My Hero Academia.

Makeup Brand of the Year: Cover Girl! I decided to give this year’s Brand of the Year to Cover Girl because this year they made a huge change from being a brand that wasn’t Cruelty Free to one that is now is and Leaping Bunny approved! Brands are trying to get away from animal testing and glad to hear that Cover Girl is the first even close to the end of the year, especially many months after Nars has joined in being sold in China during the beginning of this year. Hoping Cover Girl leaving China and being on this list can be an example to others and saying, “Join us and be Cruelty Free!” Now China is fighting to have better ways of testing at the moment, so more news on the horizon!
Runner Up: Urban Decay! 2018 has been a huge year for Urban Decay since they have released a lot of collections and discontinued a beloved product and that was the Original Naked pallet. Trust me, it was sad for me to hear since I was doing my Urban Decay Look Series on the YouTube Channel. But they have released many pallets this year that have been a success so far and they are the Beached Pallet in the summer, Born to Run, Naked Cherry, and Elements for the holidays. Now they have announced Naked Reloaded which is the Naked pallet but with new packaging and shades. Plus, the Naked Honey, and Naked AF soon to join the series! Will 2019 have all three? We will have to see!

Collection of the Year: Wet N Wild Flights of Fancy! I have to give this award to the Wet N Wild Flights of Fancy Collection because it has been a really good collection that was released during this year. Not only it had new items like a lip scrub and baked blushes but it also had donations from each box set go to the Audubon Society to help with a species of hummingbird that is native to California. A great cause for a great box! Let’s see what WNW brings to 2019!

Set at Electric Daisy Carnival Vegas 2018: Alan Walker! Even though I can’t take a flight to Vegas every year for EDC but this year’s videos shown a lot of great sets but I have to give it to Alan Walker’s set! I like his music the most because it has a science fiction feel to it and of course I did create a makeup look to his song “Ignite.” His newer stuff is pretty good too and I highly recommend. If you can’t make any of the EDC events this year, you can always catch it on YouTube!

Worsts

I do have a few worsts this year since I felt like not that many had happened but I will get to it!

Moment at a Convention: My Cane Breaking! I never had this happen before and that is my cane breaking at a convention. Someone pretty much stepped over and got caught in my cane and caused it to crack. Still makes me mad that people are blind to blind people and well, thinking we’re are like Terezi from Homestuck which we’re not, the cane is real. Hoping this year with cons I don’t experience this again because it’s not fun meeting an annoyed mobility instructor at work, even though it was not my fault because I was using proper cane etiquette and the person just shown up out of nowhere.

Makeup Moment: Being Makeup Shamed! Apparently, this year there has been a bit of makeup shaming taking place, more recent actually and I became a victim of. Seriously people? When did we came down to this? I understanding roasting someone for laughs but doing it with makeup is not cool. I did hear there were Cosplay Shaming Groups but there are groups for makeup and a newer one came up and someone from the What’s Up In Makeup Group did use my pic for it. I don’t get why we feel the need that this should be okay when makeup is a creative outlet for a lot of people, especially me. At least the person got kicked out for it because in the group you are being watched.

The Most Okay Movie: Solo! I had to mention an Okay Movie but not necessarily a Worst Movie either and that goes to Solo. It’s the movie that tells the story about how Han Solo got the Millennium Falcon and we get to use Lando get his butt kicked for it. It was not that bad and it did get bad reviews for it, when you look at it, it was competing against a Marvel movie at the same time. We did enjoy it.

Game: My Hero Academia! I have to mention this one because Gondras was looking forward to this game but it didn’t come out to being the one he was hoping for and it was the My Hero Academia game. It was supposed to play like Ninja Storm where you got to play the different story arcs but the only ones you get the arcs from the Stained arc through rescuing Bakugo! Even though those are nice arcs but Ninja Storm started from the beginning so you could play through them while here it’s the best arcs being played. Not only that, they didn’t use the English cast for this either. The Funimation dub of the show is one of the best dubs they have done and wishing they recorded this with them because they picked a lot of great actors to be in the dub. Sorry My Hero Academia, we prefer the anime.

What’s Up For Us in 2019? Well, another year at Omni Fandom Expo and just in time for new promo material. Even though we have business cards but we need to step it up and we will get it in time for this year’s convention. We aren’t sure about other cons but shooting for another year at Ranger Stop and of course new content for the YouTube Channel including new playlists to come! Also, I just re-subscribed to Boxy Charm and glad to get it back! It will be separate from Ipsy so stay tuned for our new stuff in 2019! Until next time everyone, have a safe and Happy New Year and see you in 2019!
