Music Quadrant: Baby Metal the Other One Review

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe. I am back with a new review!

BabyMetal the Other One Review

As you know, Japanese pop and rock have been two of my favorite music genres.I still enjoy Asian Kung Fu Generation, L’arc~en~Ciel, Dir en Gray, and one band of course, Baby Metal. I was introduced to these guys through some people while doing my work experience who were into Japanese culture and anime. They talked about Baby Metal and decided to listen to them. I fell in love with their songs “Karate” and “Mijutsen” the most, I do also enjoy “Hand Banger” as well. So, years passed and it’s 2023 and I see advertisements through YouTube Music of new album stuff and have heard some of the newer music through Pandora and Amazon Music, including their song with Bring Me the Horizon, “King Slayer.” Even though the album released last month, I did purchase it and I have thoughts but first!

About the Album

The Other One is the newest addition to Baby Metal’s collections of albums. THis album shows a new side to the band with ten new songs including “Metal Kingdom,” “Monochrome,” and “Mirror Mirror.” With these new tracks comes a new mature sound to the band that no one has expected.

Thoughts

I was not expecting this album to be different from what they have been before. When I heard of them the first time, they were happy and having fun with most of their music but this album shows that they decided to change it up with more of a mature sound to their metal, even add some electronica with one of their songs, which should be used for Electric Daisy Carnival at some point. I felt that after hearing “KingSlayer” for the first time that it was a complete change from their usual sound. I agree it shows they have grown as a band since they were introduced to the U. S. shores years ago, which included Jimmy Kimmel where they performed “Gimme Chocolate.” Also, when they did their duet with Judas Priest at an award show. I do enjoy the album but my favorite tracks happen to be “Metal Kingdom,” “Monochrome,” “Mirror Mirror,” and “Time Wave” because it showed more of their sound evolution, especially with “Time Wave” and :Monochrome” the most. It does bring me back to their old tracks, “Metal Resistance” which “Time Wave” reminded me of the most with how that song started and “Monochrome” did have the same sound as “Karate” with the softness and mellow sound it gives off. Also, in some of the tracks, they do sing a little more in English with this album. I think it’s due to how popular they have been in America for a few years and they are touring this year, which they do have dates for Orlando. I guess they want to add some of that and they also did it with “King Slayer” where their lyrics were mixed with Japanese and English. I am thinking of purchasing their last album, Metal Galaxy, which features “Star Light” which was put into Rock Band 4. So, yeah, this album is pretty good!

Rating: 4.5 Shooting Star Paws Out of 5

This album is pretty good to listen to and I’m glad that the girls came out with some new music. I was not expecting the change in their sound from happy metal to more of a serious and grown up sound. I think no one has either since we were used to hearing them singing about head banging with an up beat sound. I guess a Japanese band needs to grow in sound since most of them have changed, even Asian Kung Fu Generation did change their sound a bit when they came back doing a new version of “Re: Re:” for the anime Erased. All in all, this was a pretty good album and I would say give it a listen with anything else that has been released by BabyMetal.

That completes this review! I am thinking my next post will be my top favorite celebrity brands because I was inspired by Jen Love’s Live Chat yesterday since they didn’t seem accurate with a list she had mentioned. I am going to be talking about a few of them! Until next time!

Music Quadrant: Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead Tour Review

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! Another new post and it’s a bit of a detour!

Pop Punk Is Not Dead Tour Review

I felt it was time for a detour. I am still working on the Saturday Panels post but due to technology acting stupid, it got deleted and now have to re-write it. Don’t worry, I will still get that cup as scheduled. I do want to review this since of course concerts have come back and my all time favorite band was one of the many that toured. First is the disclaimer!

So, last night was the night the Pop Punk Is Still Not Dead Tour with New Found Glory in Orlando. When I heard Luke, who was a guest on Nash’s WTF Is Wrong With You talking about how everyone is touring again when people were getting vaccinated, I decided to search for New Found Glory and guess what? They were coming through this month and that was last night. I purchased the tickets for me and RJ and we were both vaccinated and ready to go. He was vaccinated in the summer while I got vaccinated in March since educators were up to get the vaccine. We did have to show our vaccination cards as we were going into the House of Blues at Disney Springs and had to wear masks which we did last night. I even kept an eye out for emails from Live Nation about the mandates and we followed. We did get there in time for the doors to open and it felt good to be back at the House of Blues which has been forever. I think the last time I went was for Traverser back in 2018 and that was a long time ago. Even RJ is hoping we can start going back with friends for local shows when the pandemic is done and I agree since I missed being there with friends and getting to eat at Hop afterwards. MMM Midnight Pancakes! Anyways, this show had a bit of a switch in the line up which we did not know.

When I purchased the tickets, they said that it was supposed to be Yolo, New Found Glory Hot Mulligan and Simple Plan. Unfortunately, Simple Plan backed out and they did have a replacement with Less Than Jake. We weren’t mad because we did enjoy their music. My first time hearing Less Than Jake was the Digimon Movie Soundtrack with “My Best Friends Are Metal Heads.” I still remember that scene to this day. Back to the show, I do have to say out of honestly and agree with RJ, Yolo and Hot Mulligan felt that their bass was turned up beyond eleven! I almost fell off my stool with Yolo, sorry if I got the name wrong since I hardly remembered it. I haven’t really listen to mainstream radio these days since I have Pandora, Band Camp, and my music library on my phone. I also felt that it was hard for me to understand Hot Mulligan since the lead singer was scream singing most of the time. I love a good scream band but if they’re really good and just not have the bass up so loud. I do have to say that Yolo, sorry again, was good during “Vicious Love” though, I think I prefer her over Haley from Paramore a little more. It did get better when Less Than Jake hit the stage since we were excited about them. I put them as one of my top favorite ska bands next to Ore Ska Band from Japan. Their set was a mix of old and new and it brought up when I used to download music from mp3.com back in the day since I had to rely on my dad to buy my music if I wanted the full album, I remembered getting some of the older songs and “Gainesville Rock City” was one of them actually. I was glad to see these guys and it was good to bring them on since they’re a Florida band that’s still going strong.

Finally, New Found Glory was the headliner for this one and man it was amazing! I remembered going to Warped Tour 2007 and they were great back then. I’ve been a fan since 2001 and I remembered hearing their song “Hit or Miss” for a short while. I didn’t know who they were until my brother visited and asked me if I heard of them and said, “No.” This was when Camelot Music existed and there was in the mall down the road from us and he picked up the self-titled and played the song and realized who they were and burned some of their songs and then got a copy of the album for myself a year and half later and then continued from there. I currently have the ten year anniversary edition of the self-titled, alongside Sticks & Stones, Catalyst, Resurrection, both From the Screen to Your Stereo Volumes 2 and 3, and their latest, Forever & Forever X Infinity on my phone and I listened it on shuffle, oh right, their live album as well on my phone and was glad I did and sang along with almost all of their songs. What do I mean by this? Well, they performed “Let It “Go” from their From the Screen to Your Stereo 3 and well, Jordan comes on dressed as Elsa with the wig and the most sparkly dress ever and a cast on his leg. Apparently, while touring in Pennsylvania, he broke his foot but didn’t cancel any performances so he performed the best he could with a cast covered in LEDs and he was dedicated due to all of the fans. I did sing the many other songs they’ve done like “Understatement,” “All Downhill From Here,” and so much more. My throat is still recovering from all the singing but it was worth it! They were going to do another performance of the self-titled album but only had the tickets for last night. I did forget to mention, during the performance they did perform one song they never had before and that was “Never Snows in Florida” from their first album, “Nothing Gold Can Stay and it sounded amazing live. Great to hear that one. So, enough gushing!

Rating: 3.5 Shooting Star Paws Out of 5!

I did take some points off for the first two acts since they were too loud with their bass. I’m sorry but the bass should not be that loud unless you’re in the Bass Zone at Electric Daisy Carnival and don’t have to fly off my stool while doing it either. Less Than Jake and New Found Glory were our favorite parts since they can put on a show. RJ did get confused by the Backstreet Boys being played as NFG was coming on but they did use it as a pre-cursor to the carnival intro they used since that was the theme they used for the Catalyst album. I think they did the Backstreet Boys with “Backstreet’s Back” because they were saying they have returned to Orlando and glad they have since it took me years to see them again after Warped Tour. Not only that, wishing I could have given Jordan a hug for the pain he went through with his foot since that was painful I bet and he mentioned that he loves to jump a lot during shows, heck one picture in the booklet on self-titled has him and the guitarists jumping. I did remember when I did have eye sight that it was true since during the live show in London which I have a DVD of for one Christmas that he did jump a lot.

Well, that is the end of this review, I am glad I did catch New Found Glory after so long and loved their music ever since I was a teen. It felt good to hear their music live again and getting to see them at the House of Blues was a great relief since it’s been a long time since we’ve been at a concert there. We tend to catch our local band buddies there but it was our first for a major show and the last real major show, which I know I mentioned Warped Tour but realized it was actually Rise Against Mac k in 2012 when they toured with A Day to Remember and Manzinger, which I also remembered I did get into Rise Against all thanks to the bonus CD that came with my copy of Sticks & Stones when they had the song “The Angel You Are” on that CD. Who knew? Not sure if we will catch Simple Plan another tour in the future but I still need to find a way of catching Red Jumpsuit Apparatus since they’re touring with the tenth anniversary of their first album. Not only that we did miss their set during Warped Tour that year. That will be another time. So, stay tuned guys for the Saturday Panels post!

Favorites Quadrant: First Quarter 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

First Quarter Favorites 2020!

It’s time for the first quarter favorites. As you probably have seen at the end of last year that I was going to do quarterly favorites instead of bi-monthly favorites this year. It’s kind of stressful and easier to talk about my favorites and what I’ve been using and what I think! Let’s get into it!

Not-So-Favorite: E. L. F. Putty Eye Shadow Primer: First is not much of a fave because it sucked! The E. L. F. Putty Eye Primer was it this time around! For a little while now I’ve been using the Poreless Putty Primer which I got in my final Allure Beauty Box and remembered how Jeffree Starr said this was approved by him and everyone bought it out everywhere as in everywhere sold out until now which you can buy again. I was able to find it at my local Target which was good. When I saw that they have an eye shadow primer I decided to pick it up and when I used it it was not my favorite. It was so dry I was afraid that my shadow was not showing. I even asked the Collective Brain at What’s up in Makeup and people experienced the same thing except the rose one. I did not go further to try this because I was so done with it and I have tried better eye primers, heck the Lorac one that came with their Pro Pallets is better than this one. I would say use your favorite eye primer guys because this was not worth it!

Favorite Moisturizer: Tony Moley Choc Choc Green Tea moisturizer: Next is from Tony Moley and have been enjoying what I’ve been using from them and this is one of them and that is their Choc Choc Green Tea Moisturizer. I use this at night to keep my face moisturized even before putting on my makeup and this feels really cooling to the skin. I was hoping to use the smaller tube I got in a bundle from Ipsy which I got Green Tea Sheet Masks, this and the the hand cream and like I said hoped to use it during Omni but with what’s going on in the world I have it with my daily makeup case. I will definitely buy this again since it doesn’t cost too much, it is almost the same price as Celestial from Lush except I get more moisture from this and green tea does have a lot of skin benefits.
Second Favorite Moisturizer: Murad Essential C Moisturizer! Another favorite is the Murad Essential C Moisturizer and glad to try it all thanks to GB Plus. I am glad that I’m getting to try out Murad all thanks to them and glad that 21 Days of Beauty put Murad on sale and this was one of the items on sale during this past one for half off and to tell you the truth is that this is the first SPF item I enjoy. As you know I have sensitive skin and sometimes SPF infused skin care and makeup doesn’t work out for me. First time this happened was with the Paula’s Choice Moisturizer with SPF 20 from my Ipsy August 2014 and my skin even hated the IT Cosmetics CC Cream I tried later due to the SPF. I was worried that it would do the same with this one and I decided to try it without makeup on top and it worked out and then the next day for work I had it underneath makeup and no break outs! It helps that this brand is meant for sensitive skin types like me and I can see why Grav3yard Girl loves this brand and I am enjoying it since I did get another tube of their AHA & BHA Cleanser I also tried all thanks to GB Plus and it was also on sale during 21 Days. I hope the Water Gel is in the next one which I say if you are curious to try Murad after what I have tried wait for the 21 Days of Beauty sale because it goes half off during that time at Ulta because this brand is very pricey even was surprised that this moisturizer is $60. Ow! Again wait for the 21 Days of Beauty for Murad’s sales.

Favorite Cleanser: Tony Moley Foaming Peach Cleanser! Next is a cleanser and that is from Tony Moley again but this time it’s their Peach Foaming Cleanser from their peach line! This fits the claims because it is really gentle on the skin, it foams and feels as good on the skin as it does and it smells amazing! I have tried the Peach Cleansing Sherbet but it is not as good as the Foaming Cleanser. I will definitely keep on buying this even on sale since I did go through the President’s Day special where it was Buy One Get One Half Off I believe but it was worth it and will keep me stocked. So far so good Tony Moley has been great on my skin and they are really sensitive skin friendly!

Favorite Body Scrub: HEMPZ Herbal Body Scrub! Next is a body scrub which is a first. Since the end of last year my legs have been dry and itchy for a long while and even developed scaly bits on my legs. I tried everything even layering body lotions until this popped up in one of my Ulta emails and that is that HEMPZ had new items including an herbal body scrub and had to try it. I noticed it because I was getting a coffee body scrub in GB Plus and figured it would help with my legs and it is helping out. My skin is losing some of the dryness at a slow rate but it is helping as time goes on. Skin care doesn’t work overnight so at least it is helping getting the scales off and I am not itchy anymore which is good. Yay! Will keep on using though.

Favorite Face Primer: E. L. F. Poreless Putty Primer! Like I mentioned above I’ve been using the E. L. F. Poreless Putty Face Primer lately. I’ve been enjoying the creaminess and how much my makeup stays on top. It does have a hard application with my Cover Girl Clean Makeup since I have to wet my sponge to spread it all over a bit more to get a better application. I don’t get why this product is creamier than the Putty Eye Primer? Okay E. L. F., whatever you did with this primer with the creamy consistency add it to the eye version because it needs it!

Favorite New Mascara: Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara! Lately I’ve been wearing more mascara to work because I became allergic to my Holy Grail Lash Gel and Brow Gel duo from E. L. F. the past couple of months and then switched to lash primers and mascaras which has been helping with application and not causing me any adverse effects. I am still trying out lash primers to see how they go but the mascara I’ve been enjoying is the Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara. This makes my lashes look amazing every time I wear it to work. I even worn it when I just put makeup at home. I miss wearing stuff from Flower Beauty and should keep on using this brand.

Favorite Face Pallet: Wonder Beauty Trip for Two Blush & Bronzer Duo! Next up is the Trip Two from Wonder Beauty. There are times where I reach for this and use it since it is easy to use. The bronzer is on the right and the blush is on the left and just dip brushes in and it’s good enough to travel with due to how small it is. Glad that I got this in one of my subscriptions because it’s easy to reach when I want to use one face pallet for my looks.

Favorite Highlighter: Colour Pop Stick in Peach! Last makeup item goes to the Color Pop Highlighter Sticks in Peach. When I was looking for a peach highlighter I found this one and found it amazing! Not only that when I wore it back in December to a party a friend did comment how my skin looked with this on. It is amazing and very smooth to get onto the cheeks. At first it was a bit rough but now it’s easier to get on. I hope this doesn’t get discontinued by Color Pop because it’s a good product and I enjoy it!

Favorite Book Series Thus Far: Playful Brides Series by Valerie Bowman! One of the books I’ve been reading leading up to the one I need to review is in the series called the Playful Brides. It’s a historical fiction series and I’ve been enjoying what I’ve been reading so far. It’s cute and the girls like Lucy, Cassandra, and now Jane are enjoyable. I am on book three where Jane is having her time to shine and it’s cute so far since she wants to be a spinster but she’s getting involved with a scandal. I have to keep on reading and don’t worry I will reach the book I need to review soon!

Favorite Song: “About a Voyage” by Sayori! I’ve been getting this song stuck in my head ever since Season 4 of My Hero Academia was being dubbed and it’s called “About a Voyage.” It’s very catchy and the funny thing is that the opening bars sound so innocent but when it starts that’s when it changes to an all-out rock song! I did download it and it’s on my phone and do play it when it gets in my head. Got to love how anime gets the catchiest songs!

Favorite Clothes Item: My Hero Academia Chibi Skater Skirt and United States of Smash Tour Long-Sleeved Shirt! Speaking of My Hero Academia! I do love this outfit and that is my chibi character skirt and my United States of Smash Tour shirt of All Might and the states that had smashes he has done. I even worn it to the second movie premiere back in February. This is what happens when I become a major fan of a series.
So guys that ends this favorites post! I think I prefer doing this because it gives me more time to try more things and bring it back to you guys in this post! I hope you all enjoyed it and can’t wait to bring new things to the next Quarterly Favorites in August! I should be getting my GB Plus Tuesday so stay tuned!

The Favorites Quadrant: November and December 2019

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post!

November & December Favorites 2019!

Okay guys, it is the final Favorites post of 2019! Let’s start with subscriptions!

Subscriptions: November and December has been wild. How so? Well, let me say this first off and the final time I just unsubscribed from Allure Beauty Box. I was going to give it a few more months but I felt so underwhelmed especially with what I got in November. I love skin care but I felt with the E. L. F. Putty Primer I can just go and get it myself at Target or have Shipt bring it to me without a box sending it to me. Plus the charcoal mask is mainly for oily skin and I have mainly dry skin and can’t use it. The Tarte lipstick was just meh and I feel as though that it was time to let it go finally. I didn’t have any regrets because this was one subscription that didn’t wow me except with two boxes and that’s it. I saw what they offered for December and they were Anastasia pallets which I can go into Ulta for but the brand doesn’t really catch my eye that much either because of how much they have been releasing. I just let it go. I am keeping my three other subscriptions, well four counting Dollar Shave Club because I get my razor cartridges that way alongside shave butter and some hair stuff if need be. I do have to say that GB Plus for November and December rally good due to the products that were sent. Some people did not like December’s and apparently someone got products different from what they are supposed to get and commented to contact Ipsy because they’re really good in replacing items, they replaced all my missing add-ons from one month. I doubt they read it. I liked the selection of products in November since there was a collab with Gigi Gorgeous and glad to get a contour item which made me happy. I did find it easy to blend like it said in the claims. I did enjoy the mascara and the lipstick from Doucce and Belle En Argent while the blush pallet I need to give it some time since I just tried it out and same with the Illumasqua Primer. Speaking of Illumasqua, I did get a pen eyeliner from them in December which does add more liners to use for work and glad for that. I did pick the Evalou Skin Serum which is not too bad but wishing it was not so drying on my skin but hey at least it’s just a onetime try. I have not tried the shadow quad yet since some people have been thinking it is not worth it for the $60 since you can get Z Pallets for a lower price. This is my thought about this product. Yes, it may be pricey but you are getting shadows with this and their shadows aren’t really that cheap either. Let me get one for example! For one eye shadow you’re paying $9.00 and since we got four shadow pans in this pallet we got $36 already. If you wanted a face item it would cost a dollar more as another example. And for a pallet alone you’re paying $24. In the end you have four shadows which would be $36 plus the pallet being $24 and that adds up to the $60 price for this item. That pays for this box even for the Ultimate if you got this in there. I am actually happy because I remembered getting one of the shadows in my regular Glam Bag and then got one of these Ittse pallets with six shadows in an Ipsy Offer so I am not mad about it and the nice thing about the pallets is that there is an insert you can pull out and put more items in so if you wanted to get a face product like a blush you can buy that separately from their website or get your own items like eye shadows from Makeup Geek or Coastal Scents and put them in here and create your own custom pallet. While the 111 Skin I have not touched that yet since I do still have a moisturizer I am using as my morning one before makeup. I did hear that people have not gotten a full container of this but hoping mine is not one of them.

BoxyCharm was pretty good as well for December while November I found the brushes to be a little disappointing because they’re really hard to use. They remind me of those oval brushes that everyone paid over a hundred dollars for except they are more rectangular. I had a hard time putting anything on with these so I went back to my original brushes because I had an easier time with those even the Gigi Gorgeous ones since I switched out for those. I have not used the shadow pallet yet nor does the eye mask since I am not sure where they are. I did use the liquid lipstick but it was disappointing that there was not enough product in it. I don’t know why but felt that BoxyCharm sent me a Dose of Colors lipstick that was about to run out but December I felt it did redeem itself because of the items that came in there. I was surprised that I got an entire brow pallet which did come in handy with giving my brows a bit of extra hold while the Storybook eye shadow pallet was so pigmented on my eyes. The lip scrub I got was pretty good and not too harsh on the scrub particles since some brands like to do that with their lip scrubs. And the blush did give me a glow on my skin that one of my friends noticed that my skin looked great. I did not try the Glacier Water Cream but will soon. I did not get to choose anything for January because I didn’t get an email about it which I did contact BoxyCharm about and they are looking into what is going on and they did take my app suggestion. People if there are issues you run into just contact these guys!

Ipsy for November and December really good with having new items from Pixie and getting to try another hand cream which is at work for extra hydration. I am not kidding with the hand soap. While December, oh man, the lip gloss! The applicator on that thing was so hard that I had a hard time putting that on and had to toss it because of that. I did like the Hey Honey eye mask since that was pretty good for a product. I haven’t used the eye pencil yet and did like the smell of the perfume. I haven’t used the blush as of yet but will do in the future. I am hoping with 2020’s subscription picks it will be even better in some areas while great as usual. I have enjoyed my BoxyCharm except for August while Ipsy and Glam Bag Plus have been really good with what I’ve gotten. Hoping that it will look bright!

Convention Moments: November was a convention month with RangerStop of course. We didn’t go to Holiday Matsuri since everyone knows my story with that one and of course we had more fun at RangerStop and it was Gondras’ first time being at this one because he always saved his time off for Holiday Matsuri. This year for RangerStop it had two memorials but we went to one and that was Robert Axelrod’s. He passed away this year and it was sad since I remembered him from anime and of course as Lord Zed like everyone else. I did dedicate the Convention Spotlight to him since he has been an important part of pop culture for the longest time. Getting to meet John Tui who played Daggeron in Mystic Force and Doggie Cruger in S. P. D. was an experience we will never forget especially me when I didn’t know that when meeting a woman for the first time you get a kiss which is New Zealand and Polynesian custom. I was a bit flustered at that but getting to ask him my question was even better which you will see in that panel video since we need to get those panel videos stitched together. I hope we get to do Press for next year because it was a blast being at this thing like last year and getting to meet more rangers from the Disney seasons was pretty cool and getting to see more panels on those seasons was also pretty cool too and not only that we did get voice actors mixed in with Samantha Newark and Wally Wingert. Our favorite moments happened to be how I got to finally interview Christopher Kayman Lee which his interview will be coming up soon here and how Wally recognized Gondras doing his Alfred from Batman voice during the voice acting panel he had with Samantha. By this time next year, not only will be doing press also possibly juggling a Master’s Degree which I will explain at the end of the Bests & Worsts post next.

Favorite Holiday Buy: Since we are passed the subscriptions and convention stuff it is time for the items that are my favorite holiday buy!

Too Faced Gingerbread Extra Spicy: Even though I got this and the Let It Snow Girl set but the Gingerbread Extra Spicy pallet is my favorite that Too Faced has released this year. It is as pigmented as it’s original and still has that same ginger snap smell. It did come with different shades with a pop of blue but I was able to create some neutral looks with this one. I hope they keep bringing this back alongside the original since it is my favorite scented pallet as of now.

Ulta Glamour On the Go: I did buy a few Ulta Sets but the Glamour On the Go Set is my favorite from the sets I bought because not only it was a Black Friday Buy for me but it did also come with a better carrying case for travel. I can just go and head for a convention with this and just bring my face items in a makeup bag and my brushes and I am good!

Favorite Gift from Family: New Rice Cooker! This year I asked my dad for a bigger rice cooker because Mama Gondras did give us one but I can only do rice in smaller batches which is nice if I am eating alone. Here with this one I can make a big batch to go with things like chili or my rice and beans and there goes my meal plan. I also find it awesome that not only I can make rice but other things too like yogurt, oatmeal and even do slow cooking which I am thinking of trying out since I have ingredients for cracked chicken again. I did thank my dad right after my first use.
Runner Up: Pajamas from Mama Gondras! I do have to mention this since they feel so good and that they are a pair of pajamas my future in law got me and they are in Asian style with cranes on them. They are really comfy and wishing the fasteners didn’t feel so loose so easily but hey they are nice for what they are.

Favorite Perfume: Lord of Misrule from Lush! Lush has released more perfumes and I was happy that this was one of them and that is the scent in Lord of Misrule. I fell in love with this scent ever since it was a Halloween scent a few years ago. It was even sold throughout Christmas and now they made it permanent. Let me describe how it smells to me! It smells like toasted marshmallows with a woodsy and pepper scent. I know it doesn’t make sense but that is how it smells like to me. I decided to have my dad get me this for my early Christmas gift since I was trying to find my perfumes I had lost and he had a hard time finding two of them and decided why not have him get this as a replacement for now due to needing new scents in my life. I am so happy to get this and glad that the scent is permanent!

New Fall Scent: Coconut Pumpkin Latte from Bath & Body Works! Everyone knows that my favorite fall scent is the Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte but this year I was introduced to something new and that is Coconut Pumpkin Latte at Bath & Body Works. I was at BBW in October and needed more hand sanitizers and more hand soaps and got the hand soap in this scent and fell in love with it. Coconut can be an interesting coffee flavor and I had tried it before but with the pumpkin it makes the scent earthier and it smells good. Even my co-workers find my office smelling good. I hope it does come back for another year because I want more of it and same with Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte!

Favorite Bag: My Ita Bag! For a little while now I have been getting into Ita Bags. For those of you who may not know it is a bag that has a clear plastic window in either a tote bag or a backpack and you put merch to display of your favorite anime, favorite couple in a series, or even character. Since I have been loving My Hero Academia I figured to make one with this anime. Vivi did help me put the cardboard insert by cutting out some cardboard from one of many boxes from Ulta and I got some cloth at Michaels and glued it on and added some keychains I got in blind boxes and same with pins. It is still in a work in progress since I did find more items on Etsy and waiting on patches of Deku and Bakugo, I did get some of the new pin blind boxes along with a Froppy pin but the backings aren’t working so had to go to EBay and picked up some plastic ones so waiting on those to arrive to help out. I can’t wait for next year’s conventions since I will probably find more Ita Bag items and I am planning on a Sailor Moon one.

Favorite Album: Jupiter Does Not Care About You by. Traverser! Well, the wait is over and I got my copy of Traverser’s new album. I am still listening to it since I am going to write a review so stay tuned for that. I do have to say ever since Gondras and I saw these guys in 2009 they have grown so much as a band and glad they have released more music as time went on. I will tell you my full thoughts on this album once I am done putting my Band Camp and this computer through the playing process.

Well guys that is it for this post! Glad that you have enjoyed this year’s favorites and now announcing this. I am changing up the Favorites posts! Why you may ask? Since I am going to be on a Low Buy during 2020 due to projects I have planned I will be splitting up the subscription favorites into its own post for every two months and the makeup favorites for every quarter because I don’t have many makeup favorites every time since I am trying new things in boxes and and since I am sticking to the subscriptions for makeup items and just treat myself once in a while and just re-stock when needed it is also due to how many brands are always releasing new things and it’s too much! I will talk about more in another post and why I feel like it’s time to do this but of course the favorites will be different this time. Let’s see what 2020 has in store for this and stay tuned for my Bests & Worsts of 2019!

The Interview Quadrant: Nobu & Sawa at Omni Fandom Expo 2019!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another Omni video!

Interview with Nobu and Sawa at Omni Fandom Expo!

Yes! We got to interview Sawa and also Nobu at Omni Fandom Expo. Last year when Sawa first came to Omni I was hoping to interview her but her schedule got full and when we thought we had a chance another press team got that slot instead but never shown up. One rule about press is show up to all interviews when scheduled.

Anyways, when there was an announcement about her coming back closer to the con, I sent that email right away with our interview requests! Nobu was also added onto us at the convention since I think either Gondras asked or the radio station person who is their handler, from the Fan by the way, asked if he could join in. We said or they said, “Sure!” It’s been month’s guys and I was ill after the con so I forgot what took place. It was an honor though to interview them since they are the first Japanese guests we ever gotten an interview with. Yes, you read that right! These two are the first guests from Japan we ever interviewed! And of course, in case if you’re wondering during the video, Sawa did translate my questions and GOndras’ answers for Nobu so you get to hear that in case of questions. Plus, give this video some love by liking it since it has no views. I know it’s sad but hey now we can say we got to interview Japanese music guests even in our new pamphlets when we get those printed again.

Well, that is it for our Omni stuff. Normally we would have events recorded but first the Marvel Musical didn’t allow it and I mostly went to night time events that were 18+ and of course we did mostly Press Booth this year. There is always 2020 and of course aiming for another year at RangerStop! What is next? Another book review, my Favorites for May and June, and of course maybe a Fairy Tail review coming up whenever I finish the Eclipse Zodiac Arc. Until next time!

The Favorites Quadrant: March & April Favorites 2019

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

March and April Favorites 2019!

I know I am kind of late but to be fair I have been working a lot and things have taken place during the weekend like seeing Avengers End Game, going to an afternoon tea for my first time which was fun, and so much more. Plus, Omni Fandom Expo did happen and I was ill afterwards! Let’s see what I have this time!

Convention Favorites:

Favorite Item to Purchase: The Taiyaki Pack! Back in 2015 there was a vendor that sold these little taiyaki cakes and they were in many different flavors and even went back Sunday when they were discounted and they are so good! They came back this year and I got their sample pack. I think I liked their peanut butter anything ones because they add more flavor to them and there was even one that was white chocolate and peanut butter which was delicious. I highly recommend if they come back to Omni next year because the person who makes them is one of the sweetest people I ever met.

Favorite Moment: Interviewing Sawa and Nobu! This year we got to not only interview Sawa but also Nobu too. The have been friends for a long time which was pretty cool. I wanted to interview Sawa since last year’s convention and didn’t get to and glad that we got that chance this year since the first convention you don’t get that chance but the next year you do and you are more prepared even though after going to their panel Saturday night I redid my questions. I do have one of her stickers on my Chrome Book actually and may stick the other on my MAC Book Air once it arrives. Also having nobu was an extra treat since we did talk to the radio station person who worked as their handler and they asked if it was okay if Nobu would join in and GOndras said, “Yes!” It was great even knowing that he is an Overlord fan like us! We will be putting up the interview on here for you guys to see and now we have interviewed a Japanese recording artist and added to our musical interviews!

New Promo Material: Our shirts and pamphlets! Since Holiday Matsuri 2018 I was pretty much brainstorming in re-branding especially with the stuff we pass out and also what we wear. I felt that no one was taking us seriously due to us cosplaying, well me and Gondras, and it was time to take that advice on dressing the part of being press. So this year for Omni we had shirts with our name, our new tag line, and of course the logo and the website on the back since we are doing the press booth which was an okay feature which you may have read our review. Our buddy Evan did like our matching shirts and not only that it was more comfortable than a costume because we went lightweight with this and it wasn’t really cold which I was worried about since I froze my butt off as Rarity last year. Plus, Gondras didn’t feel that hot as he had as the Fourth Doctor either. And of course to add to our promo material are our pamphlets. Ever since what had happened with Zach Callison last year there were times where some managers didn’t take us seriously with just a business card and our cosplay either. So that is why we decided to change things up and GOndras did a really good job in designing them and got them printed out and gave one to Paul St. Peter while running into him since we did mention him this first time. Not sure what we will do next if we will change them up for Ranger Stop but I definitely want to take on other stuff from Custom Ink since they have given me really good customer service and did really good sighted support, heck the girl that helped me order the t-shirts loved our logo!

Favorite Hotel: Florida Hotel! I have to give Florida Hotel the title for Favorite Hotel because this was a very awesome stay! We never stayed at this hotel but have visited the mall and since Gondras and I have moved it was better to do the stay instead of commuting back and forth. We did two nights and had five people and it worked out, no one was loud, no toothpaste tubes borrowed, plus the hospitality spreads throughout the mall! As in, when we visited NYX we had a worker come up to us and asked if we were okay, do we need anything else, heck even gave me makeup and skin care advice because she did ask about my foundation and to tell you the truth I didn’t get that at the other location in Orlando. I definitely suggest checking the Florida Mall one out. It’s still also tempting to go into Lush since we smelled it all the time even heading for the food court. And another part of hospitality is that they text in order to check up on how you’re doing with your stay. I also found the hotel easy to get around because it’s not too crowded nor too many staircases or other obstacles like I had with the World Center. I highly recommend this hotel, they are renovating some areas which they let people know on banners and checking in and out is easy, plus there are more baggage carts even on check out day since that was crazy during Matsuri!

Subscriptions Thoughts:

March: March was all about rose themed items which would have made sense for FValetine’s Day but since spring has arrived it did also make sense for that. My BoxyCharm was really delayed like everyone’s and was happy to finally receive the box. I did enjoy the Cover FX pallet since that was an easy to use pallet due to having the brightening and setting powders in the middle and you have the blush on the right and the contour on the left and two highlighters above the each of them. I did like Monika from Ofra more than Havana Nights. If you see our Omni videos, I did wear Havana Nights but that smeared all over my face and was wondering, “Why is this happening when I have better luck with other colors/” I realized it’s a wet formula, I am not sure if it melted in delivery or something but the one in March’s box was more drying and stayed better on my lips. The Wonder Beauty Pell off Mask is not my favorite at all! I don’t like how it feels like glue on my face even as a thick layer and there are times where I miss peeling off product. My skin did feel good after taking it off but this is not a good product since peeling can cause your face to lose elasticity. I do like another product by these guys in another box but this is not the favorite one. The Moda brushes, I only used the highlighter one actually because I already was using a powder brush at the moment. People said that this brush was flimsy but it wasn’t in my opinion. I did enjoy putting highlighter on my cheeks with this since it does give a nice air brushed look. I definitely recommend these brushes! And finally, I did try the mascara and it’s pretty good because it did add a nice slight curl to my lashes. Definitely will be using this mascara as time goes on.

March was also brining in a new box for me and that is Allure Beauty Box! I have been reading Allure articles all thanks to getting them in my email and I find it very interesting as a magazine and when I heard about their box I decided to take a try finally and subscribed in March. They did say I would be getting different items than long time members which is good to know and did like the idea that these were luxury products that Allure has mentioned in their pages and of course more indie brands even drugstore sometimes comes in these boxes and glad to try out what I got. One item I almost got the full size but didn’t and that is the Momond Rose Toner which you can get at Ulta. This was a really good smelling toner and it did bring moisture to my face every night and every morning before I did my makeup for work. I did get back into toners and did pick up a cucumber and witch hazel one from Fair’s since my rose one from the same brand was taking a bit in shipping it pretty much did the same thing in the moisture and Fair’s is more suited to sensitive skin people like myself. I am glad to get back into toners and hoping to see what other skin care Allure would bring since they also sent me Aquea Blue Tansy Oil is something I am still using! Even though it says to pump some into your hands or was it cotton pad but this was a roller ball. I do use this after my toner every night to add some moisture and it does smell really good. Good thing is that people with Sen Sensitive skin also can use this product too which is good. I only have used the Amica Hair Mask once already and can’t really say too much about it, the Tarte Quick Dry Lip Paint I didn’t really like so I tossed it, I also tried out the Model Co. shadow trio and found it okay not too much to say about it. And the Wonder Beauty mascara which I got a full size of is something I really enjoyed! It makes my lashes really curly and can see why I prefer this over the face mask. And oh yeah, the Tanya Kreux brow gel, I would say even this got me to re-purchase my favorite NYX Control Freak one but I found this pretty good but just okay. It did keep my brows in place but glad to get my NYX one back.

Ipsy was a bit of a disappointment because I had two items missing and they did send them to me which were the Space Case shadow in Alien Love Child as a deluxe size and the Tarte Man Eater mascara. I did like the mascara since I had heard good things about that one and it did go with my Tarte Toasted pretty well. It did curl my lashes pretty well and did give some volume. Not sure if I would purchase the full size, time will tell. I gave away my Yensa foundation sample to the Personal Management instructor and she loved it! She thanked me every time she saw me and told me that she got the full size of it and saved her money which is a good thing. I am glad that she did enjoy that product and figured it would come in use even when she teaches makeup which she does. I am also finding it awesome on Ipsy when they mention Jennifer Yen that they include, “Former Power Rangers villainess!” Since she was in Light Speed Rescue! Yes, she is one of the many people I would love to interview in the future, hoping she does become a guest even if she is no longer an actor. I mostly used the Royal and Langnickle brush I got as a under eye setting brush because it fits so well with my under eyes and it blends my NYX Translucent Powder very well! The Ciate London gloss was very lightweight actually, I didn’t feel it on my lips and I think is on it on top of other lip products for an added sparkle. And I finally found that PUR afterglow powder, I haven’t used it yet though! While the Huda Beauty Smoky Obsessions and the FAHRA brushes I got as add ones are really good! I love the blendability that the brushes have and the Smoke Obsessions work pretty well as eye shadows!

April: April seemed to be a bit weird with what I got in my Allure box. Even though Carly Bible was collaborating with the magazine this time but I did get a few different items and that included the Juvia’s Place shadow pallet and the L. A. Splash eye liner. I found it weird that Carly said that everyone was supposed to get a Laura Gellar eye liner but apparently mine was a variation since I am new to the box. It is a brown marker and it works well with my work outfits since I do have variations of brown shadows in my work makeup kit. While the Juvia’s Place pallet is something new for me to try since I was wondering about the brand since people on YouTube talked about it and how great the shadows are. I will have to see for myself. I did get the Vida Liborata towels with the self-tanner on it but threw them away since I don’t self-tan. I know it gives a nice glow but to me it’s not really necessary when you can just get sun at any time and even during the summer you can tan anytime. I did put the Biaggio Heat Protecting Cream in my cabinet for whenever I do use my hair dryer or maybe use it with my straightener. I didn’t get the Anastasia Beverly hills lipstick which made me sad but I did get the Natasha Denona shadow in a bronze shade which is not too bad. I did get a Morphe brush which I was surprised when I rarely see Morphe mentioned on Carly’s channel or in Allure. I was hoping the Luxie one she was going to have in the box since I do love Luxie but this brush is not bad since I do use it in my crease when I interchange my brushes while doing my makeup.

April’s BOxyCharm was really good this month because it was a really good variety of products. First is the Appeal Holographic lip gloss which was an interesting product. I thought it was super sticky at first but it got better as time went on and even put it on top of other lip products to make it more fun. The PUR Festival Pallet was also a great pallet. I got to wear it once and did a brown shadow look with it and my fiancé thought I was trying to make my brows longer with it since it looked like I extended a bit too far. I did find the shadows easy to work with and they do smell amazing in the pallet too, like I had another Too Faced Bronzer. If you guys see this pallet I do recommend picking it up. The Luxie Brush Trio we got in this box was also amazing since Luxie is one of my favorite brush brands at the moment. I would so collaborate with these guys since brushes are an easy tool for me to use and I can use them for other things. I find the smaller brush easy to use and I sometimes use it to put my under eye concealer if I can’t find one of my other brushes to do so. I do use the contouring brush for my contour time to time when I am not working. I am not sure the other brush, maybe it’s buried deep in my brush pouch but hey these are still good brushes for what you get! Next is the Artist Cotour powder and man this powder makes me glow very nicely. Yes, it’s a loose highlight and I did take the little sifter off because I can’t stand those things so I take them off whenever I get a loose product. I do tap off my highlighter brush before applying and do blend it into my face with a tiny brush afterwards and foamy; u the Bodyography eye pencil which I put with my other eye liner pencils. I have so many of them and glad to have backups!

And Ipsy for April was better actually! As in nothing missing like my extra items which were the Ferma Beauty Contour brush which is in my brush pouch for blush, my Laura Sanchez Moods Shadow and Face pallet, and the Violet Voss Fu Size Holy Grail pallet. I have enjoyed the items I got this month and they include the Marc Anthony Virgin Coconut Oil and She Butter Curl Cream which has been helping my curls from frizzing up. I do enjoy this brand a lot and I do have a pair to mention from this brand down below. I also enjoyed the Balmjour Balm Stain which it felt so light and does stay in place all day. The nail polish from Pretty Woman which I put on last night is holding up pretty well and it’s a very nice shade of purple! Let’s see how it holds with my speed of light typing during the week when I type emails and other things! The Tarte Double Duty Primer was pretty good and it did moisturize my face until I ran out. While the Billion Dollar Brows brush, I am still using the Moda highlighter brush and will get to this one in the future.

Well, those are my box subscription updates. So far so good some of the products did work while others didn’t and glad to be in these things. I did join Glam Bag Plus and so far the items I am getting are awesome and can’t wait to receive it! BoxyCharm May is becoming more interesting as it gets closer to shipping time since the sneak peeks are variation items for the most part. While Allure is mostly summer time with beach fit products since people do start coming to Florida for the beaches in May and go through September. I hope not to get the self-tanning product in this box. And Ipsy, if you’re wondering, I am also getting pretty awesome products!

Makeup Favorites:

Shampoo and Conditioner: Marc Anthony Bye Bye Frizz Combo! First up is favorite shampoo and conditioner and these two are what I’ve been using from Marc Anthony’s Bye Bye Frizz line. I have been loving these and now winding down and the claims is that it gets rid of frizz and that is true! This helped with the frizzy spots I have had for many years especially on the right side of my head where it was so dead and damaged! When I got these two I used it right away and man my curls are bouncing back! Even the Hared Drying cream also helps. If you have not tried out Marc Anthony and your hair is frizzy, definitely get this shampoo and conditioner because it is worth the $6+ for them. I am trying out the hair growth one next.

Favorite New Release: Jeffree Starr Blue Blood Pallet! I have to admit this and that is I loved the Blue Blood pallet from Jeffree Starr. As you know I was in conflict in wanting to buy from his band due to some of the drama but decided it was time to set it all aside and buy something anyways and when I saw the review on this pallet that is when I decided I would buy it. The shadows are much pigmented and they are so colorful in the pallet. I have done two looks which the first was a video by using more of the blues and one of the browns while I did a teal look using Unicorn Blood which I went back for and Deep Freeze from the Skin Frosts which I also went back for and they turned out awesome! I will go back for Blood Sugar but for now I do have other shadow pallets to play with!

Favorite Go To Pallet: Custom Work Pallets! So, I made some custom eye shadow pallets for work and placed them into magnetic pallets, I had to replace one of them since it broke and so far I always loved going to these! Even though I still have my makeup bags with some of my work essentials but these are the two that I tend to go to the most since they are made by me. I tend to have clothing in different colors going from green, to blue, to some purple, even brown, and I love these pallets since they aren’t over bearing, not too expensive to put together and just wearable shades. In one pallet I have Coastal Scents, one blush from Coastal Scents as well and got the shadows and blush during their Hot Pots sale, and a blush from Lottie London as a sample an a set I got from Ipsy’s offers and put a magnet on the back. While the other pallet is filled with nine Color Pop shadows because it is the smaller pallet I have. I would also suggest doing something like this if you are going to work and need a fast pallet to use in the morning like I have. Plus, my pallets include shades almost similar to the Naked Basics 1 pallet since that is now discontinued and these are perfect backups with the few brown and grey-like shades.

Favorite Clothing:

Easy Spirit Shoes: I have to put these on the list because recently I got a stipend to get more work clothing to wear and one thing I needed the most according to my dad and Gondras were shoes especially ones I could interchange. So, on a trip to JCPeney at the mall we ended up finding three pairs of Easy Spirit shoes in my size and in navy, tan, and black. These are so comfortable that I don’t have to take them off like my old flats from Walmart. They are like clogs almost but flats and they are closed toe too. I know most places require heels but I can’t do heels at all because of my flat feet. Heck, I even left a pair of wedges at home because I hated them. As in back in Orlando!

Favorite Music:

Sawa’s Phul: After interviewing her, I downloaded Sawa’s album from ITunes since it’s been forever since I listened to it. I do have a physical copy buried in my storage compartment of our couch and glad I got it on ITunes since it also got deleted from my phone with the last IOS update. My favorite song will be always “Half Moon” because I love how she sounded in this song and it’s a great song to chill to as well. I would suggest checking her out.

Solfa 2016 from Asian Kung Fu Generation: I and Gondras have been fans of these guys even when we started going out and that is Asian Kung FU Generation. I was meaning to download this album since it was the first album we had all thanks to someone we knew burned us a copy of the CD and Gondras blasted it every time we went out. Now that the band has a new version it brings back so many memories of our relationship starting even “Loop & Loop” is one of our songs even when we realized they are almost like Weezer since their songs are pretty emo if you were to translate them. The song we always love and is my wake up alarm for work every morning is “Re: Re:” which is the theme song from the anime Erased. I remembered the original version being heavier but this version I prefer more since it shows how much they have grown as a band. I still love “Loop & Loop” since this was switched to track three on the newer version which fits since after “Rewrite,” which all classic FMA fans know that was one of the theme songs, you go into happy song. I hope they do perform in America again because we were sad that they were at Anime Expo two years back and hoping they come back!

Well that is it for this post! I know a very long one but hey felt good to mention these things! What is next? My post on the brands I have not cancelled completely.

Favorites: July & August 2018!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds traveling the vast universe! Welcome back for another post on here and this time it’s my favorites for July and August! Damn, this year is going by fast and I can’t believe Halloween is right around the corner.

Also, if this is in a weird format, I am testing a different word processor known as Jarte since I am going to be teaching tech why not test it out? Anyway’s, let’s get move on!

July and Augusts Favorites 2018:

Favorite Moments from NFB Convention:

Favorite Moment: Interviewing Apl DeAp from the Black Eyed Peas! First I’m starting with the NFB National Convention! I know it’s different from my attending anime conventions in Orlando and as a blind person I do self advocate by attending the anime conventions since I do enjoy it despite having a blind condition. Even the Chapter President at the NFB for Orlando did ask me how am I able to watch anime and my answer is always watching the English version because it is true. I have to rely on the dubbed version even though I can use Seeing A. I. to watch the subtitled version. I want to test it at some point and will get back to you about it but in the meantime I do like to support the actors I’ve interviewed. Speaking of interviews, Gondras and I did get to interview Apl DeAp from the Black Eyed Peas who was performing at the National Convention this year. This was a great opportunity since we do have music lovers reading this blog and from different genres and when I heard that Apl did have an eye condition it was a great opportunity to learn more about it. So, I did put in the request and was fit into the interview line up since two podcasts were also interviewing him. It was great to learn more about him and what he does, if you haven’t seen our interview, you can find the post talking about it here or you can go straight to our YouTube! Also, we are now following the Black Eyed Peas, Furgy, and Apl on Twitter to keep up with them and you should as well.

Favorite Purchase: My Braille Watch! Like most conventions I attend there are vendors at these things and oh man it was huge at the National Convention because you have companies showing their new tech like Google and Microsoft, even new app’s like N Reach which I’m affiliated with, but also products to help with independence and well I did get and that’s my Braille watch. I used to have talking watches and they died over time, even my last one where the talking part just died on me for good. I went a few years without one and when I got my First Time Scholarship I bought a new watch for myself and went with a Braille one because being at loud events like a concert or even in a mall it’s hard to hear the talking parts of the watch while a Braille watch you feel the face and the hands. I have to get used to the hand points though. If you grow your nails like I do, get a men’s watch because it’s easier when reading them.

Favorite Speech: A Kid Who Had Blind Parents! I am not a parent myself but an interesting fact is that the NFB help blind parents and parents of blind children with services and even trying to keep them safe because there are times where blind parents are seen as irresponsible when it comes to them. They do get trained in how to raise them and even the National and State Conventions do have workshops in helping parents who are sighted and blind to raise kids. When this speaker talked about her parents it was an eye opening experience besides the President of course because it shows that parents can get over their struggles in raising a child, even the part how she did the swap of family experiences where someone from a different home gets to live in the home for a week somewhere else and get to see the person’s family and how they lived, the person who lived with her was surprised that she didn’t know her parents were blind and had a great time with them. If you want to be a parent and you’re blind or end up with a kid going blind then the NFB will help you guys out with that.

Ipsy Round Up: Now it’s onto the Ipsy review where I talk about my products and how they went!

July: July is my return to the Ipsy service and it feels good to be back after two years of not having one. Trust me it was sad for me to see many people having videos on it. I was even in tears sometimes. Now that I have it back, I was glad to get it back because I love makeup and I don’t hurt anyone if I love it so much. Let’s see what I enjoyed!

BKR Water Balm: I finished this sample last night and it’s the Water Balm from BKR. I loved the scent of this which is very clean and you hardly smell the rose scent. I had a bit of a dry patch on my lips from scrubbing my lips and it did help with that. Will I buy it though? Even though it costs up in the $20 range I might get it since it is a very nice lip balm for what it is. I can see why they are pretty good as a brand but I do still have my LipSmackers and might purchase this in the future.
Smash box Always On Liquid Lipstick: I was glad to finally try this product since Ipsy was really the place where I got into Smash box. I do like how smooth this liquid lipstick goes on and it is not as drying as most formulas. I do like how wide this wand is and it did go on smoothly on top of my water balm and my lip primer. I may have to purchase this shade or another shade since this definitely got a thumbs up from me!
Sugar Cosmetics Heavy Duty Eye Kohl in Purple Rain: This eyeliner is super creamy! I do love my eyeliner pencils and the funny thing was that when I first subscribed to Ipsy and got my first bag I did get a black one from Lord & Berry and that one lasted me FOREVER and now that I have a full size pencil and it’s a purple one I was glad since I was looking for a new purple eyeliner. This goes on so smooth that there is no tugging like it claims on the product profile. I think this is a popular product since it sold out on Sugar Cosmetics’ USA web site and hoping they restock since I would like to see about the green one since that was another color you could get. I hope to get more products by these guys because they seem really good and this pencil shows it!
Ittse Shadow Single in Switching to Flats: This shadow did go on my eyes very well even though it’s hard to swatch. There are times when that happens with shadows where you get one that doesn’t want to swatch on you and when it swatches better on your eyes. I do like how this is a pan for your Z Pallet or any other company that does magnetic pallets and it’s pretty good for the amount you get. It’s also not expensive either for the shadows for it being an indie brand. They are $7 each for a pan which is not bad at all. I may have to look around because I do have empty slots open for shadow pans.
IB Beauty Eye Shadow Flat Brush: The last item is a brush and I loved this brush! This did apply my shadows very well and I can see why this is a good brand since other people have gotten their products in the past. I hope to get more shadow brushes or other brushes by them since they are very fluffy and soft. I may buy from the brand or if Ipsy has a brush offer for a set. That is why Ipsy has awesome brush offers!

August 2018: My bag this time for August was really great because having such a huge jump from 2015 to 2018 since I never had a bag in 2016 and 2017 due to unsubscribing in 2016 which upsetted me a lot and now I’m back, they did do something different from just back to school related themes like I remembered.
Pixie by Petra Blush Duo in Beach Honey: I used this more as shimmery blush than a highlight and blush. I remembered getting the Rose Gold one a while back and glad to get another one this one but in a peachy tone and it was really great and not only that the same formulation like I remembered. I basically swirl my brush around to give it a good coat and apply it to my cheek bone areas to give it a nice blush.
Riveta by Star Lux Ink Pen and Star: I have used this twice and I am not sure if the star end is working at all when using it. I know the pen tip is working because it does flow very well from it. I am not sure about buying this since the star is not working or it is. Sorry Star Lux!
Bang Beauty Eye Quad in Smoky: This one is a great one! It’s pretty pigmented for me when someone said it wasn’t. I did say with the Ittse single that sometimes shadows don’t swatch on the hand as well as on the eyes. I did like how pigmented it is but the packaging is so small! At least the pans were big enough for a brush. I will be using this when I start working since this is a work appropriate makeup for it being so matte.
Formula 1006 Three Tines the Sublime: Oh man this product is amazing! It helped reduce marks I had from my last time of the month and it does tingle but in a good kind of way. I need to try more expoliants since my skin can be clogged from using makeup and mowing my skin will go through that when I start working. Will I get this one though? Not sure as of yet since a lot of skin care can be pricey and I know I have to work with a budget.
Huda Liquid Matte in Bombshell: ::sigh:: I love this! I love this! I know about how controversial this brand was due to copying Beauty Bakerie with the setting powder which is not okay. I am not sure if I can find a dupe but this was a really good formula and not only that it is very light and comfortable. Why Huda? Why do you have to make a great product?

So far my return to Ipsy has been great! I enjoyed both bags but the least favorite item is the Star Lux liner, the pen part is amazing while the stamp is not working out for me. I can’t wait to see what September brings!

Beauty Favorites:

Fave Bronzer: L’Oreal True Match Lumi Bronze It in Light! I was happy to try out a new bronzer from L’Oreal and it’s their True Match Lumi Bronze It in Light. This bronzer is very pigmented and was glad to try it out. I can’t seem to not use it since it’s not so overbearing and you just need a light hand. According to Gondras, he noticed I went a little heavy when I wore my “Burn In” look during Traverser’s concert and need to go in lightly. It does cost around $12 but it is L’Oreal after all.

New Highlight: Fire Highlight Bar from Wet N Wild! Wet N Wild released their Zodiac collection this month and I only got the Fire Highlight since I was only interested in the highlighting bars after enjoying the one that came with the Midnight Mermaid Collection last year. This one is a bronzy shift highlight and oh man it brings an amazing glow to any warm toned looks! I have used it in my “Burn In” look and my Naked Heat Look and I think I tried it out with something but couldn’t put my finger on it but still this is a great highlight to any collection! Wet N Wild, release more highlighting bars because they are amazing!

Fave Eye Shadow: Fireball from NYX Prismatic Collection! I’ve missed using the NYX Prismatic shadows and when I was doing my “Ignite” look I was looking for an eye shadow to give off the firey red look and found this one while browsing the NYX web site when they had a site wide sale during Fourth of July. This is a beautiful orange shade with a red glitter shift and it does look like a fireball on your eyes. I did use this with my “Burn In” look for the defining shade to give it a burn look. I wish they didn’t break so easily though.

Fave Pallet: Naked 2 and 3 from Urban Decay! I have to give it to those two shadow pallets because I finally got my paws on them! I got them for my birthday this year and glad to complete the collection finally. I wasn’t big into collecting them at first but decided to do it since I did like the shadow pallets from Urban Decay and they are a big staple for a lot of people and I can see why. I also can see why they are important for a lot of us makeup lovers. Not everyone likes these pallets but they have been a big part of so many beginners and lovers for so long. Now they’re discontinuing the Original and someone theorized it might be due to packaging purposes since it is in a velvet package when the others were so sleek and artistic while the Original was bland. hoping that is true because it is the original. I didn’t buy another due to not making dents in mine so I don’t have to really worry. But back to these, these two have colors I normally do wear and I wish there was a Basics pallet for Naked 3 since you can do so much with purple and berry tones in the matte department. Plus, you can make so many looks with these two and even mix them with the other pallets. I also love their pallet casing since they did step up in the packaging.

Project Pan Update: I have finished some stuff and added some things! First with what I finished! I have finished two of my Ipsy products and I stink it was a shadow pigment and the other was the Pearl Fizz eye shadow from Tini Beauty. I got this as a way of promoting the Tini Beauty pallet from a makeup artist which I forgot his name but I do have the pallet in my collection but it was amazing for what it was. I used the Pearl Fizz shadow as a setting shadow for my eye primer to finish it off. Another product I did finish were my two only liquid lipsticks from Kat Von D. These felt like they didn’t have much product left as I wore them and they used to be comfortable but not anymore. This is why I prefer Ofra, NYX, Wet N Wild, Black Moon, and now Huda Beauty’s liquid lipsticks because they’re so comfortable to wear even after they dry down. I heard Jeffree Star’s formula is also comfortable which…I will announce now…I am going to take a try! I know I hear cheering because I gave Jeffree another chance due to how he has changed over time. Anyway’s, sorry Kat but your liquid lipsticks need to be comfortable and they aren’t. I did test them with the BKR Water Balm and that didn’t help either! And I did say I will not be buying anymore KVD stuff due to what’s going on with her. Now onto adding items! I am adding my Vivid Baked Bronzer in Ready To Go from Makeup Revolution because the packaging broke, as in the top fell off. I don’t know how it happened but it did and I tried having my dad remove the pan but it was breaking the product so best to pan it which will take forever but I am patient.

Top Fave Songs: Now it’s time for my top favorite songs of July and August in no particular order!

1. “God Is a Woman” by Ariana Grande: First is Ariana Grande with her song “God is a Woman!” This song surprised me because it was something new when it came to Ariana. The first time I heard it was James Charles singing it and he didn’t sound that bad that most people were saying and then when I heard it always got stuck in my head! Which is now!
2. “Distortion” by BabyMetal: A new song from BabyMetal and man it knows how to be metal! At first I thought it was a Sevendust song since the first riffs remind me of one but when I checked my phone it was BabyMetal! Apparently they released new music and this was from three months ago! Way to go girls!
3. “Hate” by. High & Mighty Color: Now I got the name! The song I have been trying to get on here is “Hate” by High & Mighty Color! We know this band all thanks to one of their songs used for the anime BLEACH and some of their other songs are really good. I’m glad that I Heart Radio plays Japanese artists in their World music genre!
4. “Starfaux Eight Arms” by. Traverser: I have to give it to my boys on this list because they have released a new and awesome song from their new album, Jupiter Doesn’t Care About You. This song shows their Red Shift sound since it has that science fiction theme to it. It even sounds amazing live! Oh yeah, they performed it live this last show! If this was put into an AMV, I thought about the game War Frame because it kind of makes me think about that game especially with the “I am the only one” lyrics. If you haven’t played that game, I highly recommend! Also, check out our interview with Traverser on our YouTube and here!
5. “Hurts Like Hell” by Mr. Bella: My last song for this list is by another Florida band and that is Mr. Bella. I Heart Radio always plays their song, “Herts Like Hell” everytime I play my Favorites Station. Can’t wait when they bring new music, well more new music since they did perform a new one at the last show I went to!

Favorite TV Season: Voltron Legendary Defender Season 7! I have to give it to the creators of Voltron Legendary Defender because with every season that has been made so far it has been very awesome! This season brought on things that you weren’t expecting even a cliff hanger at the end. I am hoping there is a Season 8 because of what had happened at the end of this season and I love this series a lot even slightly more than the original. Not only they changed up the story to make it more of a space opera which makes sense for something like this but it did give the characters more personality and made them more useful. Plus we get to see Alura being more stronger in this one and they did change her character. Maybe I should do a post of Old Vs. New between this and the original because I feel like it needs one since I have known the original series and I should see this one from the very beginning and take some notes since I know it will be one huge post! What do you think? Still, hoping for another season!

Well guys, that’s it for this post! I know it was a long one but hey I had a lot of favorites to talk about! Now I will be adding my Ipsy Round Up and how well the products worked for me or not worked out. Let’s see what holds for me in September and October since I may be moving so I will keep you guys updated on Twitter! Until next time! Stay beautiful while traveling the vast universe!

Interview with Apl De Ap from the Black Eyed Peas at the NFB National Convention!

Yes! I had the opportunity to interview the one and only Apl DeAp at this year’s NFB National Convention! I wanted to interview him since I didn’t know he was visually impaired until I read the email sent through the Email list with the NFB and pondered about it and asked about having an interview since he is not only visually impaired and got to ask about his experiences but also a Grammy Winning Artist on top of it since he was with the Black Eyed Peas for many years and has done great hits like “I’ve Got a Feeling” and “Let’s Get IT Started!” What did I ask him? Favorites: May & June 2018

Hello all of my beautiful nerds traveling the vast universe! I am back with my Favorites and this time it’s May and June! Let’s get started! I do have one non-beauty favorite and a Meh Favorite! Let’s see what I have.

Meh Fave: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Nude! I know everyone fell in love with this but I feel like it is not my fave except it’s a meh! It did work pretty well on my lids and worked better than the Wet N Wild Primer, which I will be talking about next in my Un-Favorites area, it did not glue my lashes shut but I felt like it was going into the lashes a bit. I know I am supposed to put not that much of this product and use the wand but I prefer squeezing it out into my fingers and apply it a lot more easily that way. I feel like this was not for me, I think I prefer my NYX Eye Base in the pot along with the MAC Paint Pots because I have an easier time applying those than primers in the tube and the lip gloss looking container.

Meh Eye Shadow Pallet: Marvel Avengers Infinity War Pallet from Hot Topic! I tend to love the eye shadow pallets from Hot Topic but this is in my Meh category. I did kind of put it under “Regrets’ at first because people on What’s Up In Makeup thought it looked muddy with the shadow look I tried first with the orange, the green, the brown, and others but when I re-did the look with Soul, which is the orange I put it all over my lid and just did more of a neutral eye that way. I thought the shadows were okay but too powdery after realizing it. I may keep on using it but I prefer the unicorn ones and the Galaxy Shadow pallet I got last year.

New Eye Shadow Pallet: Urban Decay Beached Pallet! I finally got this pallet after hearing so many things about it and that is the Beached pallet by Urban Decay. Yes, 2018 is all about the Urban Decay and not sponsored, sorry! I think they’re slaying it this year because of the new pallets they have been coming out with. Anyways, I got my Beached pallet after collecting my points at Ulta and used them on it and it was worth it! All thanks to doing a look with the teal, the deep blue, and the Blaze in this pallet I ended up attracting Hash Tag Sunglasses to it. I love Urban Decay and their shadows have been killing it and I can’t wait to complete the Naked collection since I have been collecting them, I have to keep my paws off my Naked Heat pallets, lol!

New Shadow Quads: Wet N Wild Flights of Fancy Eye Shadow Quads! Along with new releases by many brands, Wet N Wild released their summer collection last month and it’s called the Flights of Fancy Collection for the hummingbirds that are native to California. I got the full set and it was beautiful, I do have a not so favorite but these shadow quads are pretty much what Wet N Wild has done after discontinuing the trios. I think it was a good idea to do that because not only they re-formulated Walking on Eggshells but they added another color to it and it gives us more freedom to play with the quads. I realize I haven’t used the trios as much which I am trying to hit pan on so I can let them go. I used in my video the Hasta La Costa Quad and it is a green and blue quad which is gorgeous! I am thinking of using one of the others in the future since the Braille labels did pop off, which sucks but hey I can use them one day soon. Maybe I should use the rose gold one next week for the NFB Convention, who knows.

New Lip Gloss: Wet N Wild Lip Glosses! Along with those quads, Wet N Wild also released lip glosses! Those things are great except you have to kind of build them up due to the applicator. Usually with most lip glosses I do one swipe or two and I’m good but it feels like you kind of build up with two swipes on the bottom and top but still these aren’t sticky like most lip glosses. Not even sticky like MAC.

Lip Scrub: E. L. F. Lip Scrub in Mint! I finally got to try the Lip Scrubs from E. L. F. Normally I would use the ones from Lush but it’s been forever since I got any lip scrubs from them since now the drugstore is starting to create their own, even Wet N Wild made their own for the Flights of Fancy collection which seriously should be permanent! At first when I got the scrub in my package, this was when they did free shipping a little while ago, I thought it was weird due to how it looked as a lip stick tube. When I started using it, it felt weird at first because of how compact it is together and then realized I had to run it across a few times to make it work and then wipe it off with a cotton round. Easy enough and it is hard to be tempted to eat because I love mint! That is the reason why I went for mint. I definitely want to try the other ones that they came out with and they aren’t as expensive as Lush or the coffee one I have made with coffee from Ulta, this one is good!

New Translucent Powder: NYX Pressed Powder! So, I went to NYX last month and to get a new powder to get for my under eye because I felt the LA Girl one was running out faster and I felt that there was not much in the pan and realized I liked pressed more. So, I did find out that the NYX Setting Powder is also pressed and got it in Translucent. I love it! I can see why people recommend this powder to use as a setting powder and it feels as lightweight as you wear it.

New Mascara: NYX worth the Hype Mascara! So, I reached my first round of points at NYX and ended up getting a free tube of the Worth the Hype Mascara as a sample size and I heard good things about it from one person and when I got it, I was hoping it would not be flake city like Better than Sex and guess what? It wasn’t! I carry this in my makeup bag and whenever I spend the night at Gondras’ place and don’t hand don’t have any makeup I turn to this! It makes my lashes look so full! Way to go NYX, I want the full size now!

New Blush: The Baked Blushes by Wet N Wild! Speaking of WNW earlier, another item from their Flights of Fancy is the Baked Blushes. Sorry WNW, you need to make these permanent! Milani has had them for a long time! Anyways, these blushes are gorgeous! I think I use the nude one the most because it was a shade you rarely find as a baked one, you do have Apricot in The Middle, which I still need to get and try out, these definitely need to be permanent and they are very good in blending them on your cheeks.

New Setting Spray: Wet N Wild Matte Setting Spray! Yes, a lot of Wet N Wild but they have been getting my money for any of their face items because I used to use Almay and getting the foundation and powder was costing a bit much so I switched to Wet N Wild’s stuff since it’s cheaper and I like the wand part more than the pump. Anyways, I decided to try the setting spray from Wet N Wild and I prefer this more because the NYX one I’ve been using the Demi Matte formula was breaking me out in certain areas of my face but mostly around my cheeks the most. I think I’m a little too sensitive to their spray and I even felt itchy around the areas on my face after a few hours. The Wet N Wild doesn’t do that to me! I think it’s the ingredients that they use, I know one ingredient is Vitamin E if I remembered and it doesn’t cause me to itch nor break out. I think also that the NYX one was not reacting well to the Clearasil products I’ve been using. This spray has been working out beautifully and now on bottle number two! I am able to find this spray easily at Walmart and even on Ulta’s website and it doesn’t cost an arm and leg like most sprays. I also like how it smells, it smells sweet!

Not-So-Favorites:

Wet N Wild Eye Shadow Primer and Primer Water Spray: These two items are not my favorites at all when it comes to makeup! I am so sorry Wet N Wild here are my reasons. I mentioned above, the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Eye Shadow Primer was the thing I wanted to try for so long! SO LONG! But it sucks! It glued my lashes SHUT! I hated how it felt like glue and it was thick as paste as it came out of the tube, I had to go back in for more dollops of this stuff and it glued my lashes shut. I am sorry, that is not supposed to happen when you put on any eye shadow primer even from a pot. I had to toss it, shadow primer is not glue Wet N Wild! And the other item, I tried loving but couldn’t due to how the spray nozzle stopped working correctly and that is the Primer Water that came with the Flights of Fancy collection. I was hoping this would last me for a while and I loved how cooling it was while spraying it and it did set very well but as time went on the spray nozzle would not work! I tried shaking it and it would still not work. It was like it worked once and would not work again! I take back that I want it permanent, I think I will stick to the Hydro Touch I’ve been using and I am planning to try out the Dewey Primer from Wet N Wild and see how that compares but sorry the primer spray does not get my love. I did toss it too.

Non-Beauty Faves!

Book: Tiffany Blues by. M. J. Rose! This was a very enjoyable read by M. J. Rose and it is called Tiffany Blues. If you read my review, you could tell I loved every page of it and I didn’t want to stop reading it because of how beautiful it was. I did do a makeup look based on the Tiffany Glass colors you heard throughout the book and I felt like I was brought to the 1920s to when Jenny was there doing art. If you have not read this book, I highly recommend as an excellent read!

Another Book: The Dream Keeper’s Daughter by. Emily Colin! Another book is the Dream Keeper’s Daughter by. Emily Colin. I didn’t want to leave Kindle alone with this one either because of how it pulled you between past and present to see how the two main characters, Max and Isabel, go through the times they were in with Isabel trying to live her life while Max is getting her mom back. I would say read that one too if you’re interested.

Recipe Favorite: Pickle Dip! I know what you are thinking, “Say what!?” you can make a dip out of anything and pickles was an interesting dip to make because you had many things going into it besides dill pickles, you also had cream cheese, garlic paste, and other things and came out to have an interesting mild taste. I would say if you find the recipe from Publix, which is who I got it from, use pretzels because they go the best with it.

Movie: Avengers Infinity War! Next is movie and you already know! Avengers Infinity War was a great film except the ending. All I have to say is, “Damn it Quill and Thor! You had one job!” I won’t spoil the rest and I can’t wait to catch any other Marvel movies even if it means on Netflix.

Series: Series of Unfortunate Events! Okay, I wasn’t expecting to watch this because Nerdy Shirts and his brother asked GOndras to be in a video with them reacting to episode 9 of season 2. Gondras couldn’t get past a certain point in Season 2 but I kept watching. All I have to say is that I never read the books but this was a great too series since they had Neil Patrick Harris being Count Olaf in this one. You never thought he would play creepy very well until you see this and it helps with his Broadway musical background because he does sing the theme song and it’s catchy! I can’t wait to see what Season 3 holds for the Bodalairs since the final episode of Season 2 revealed a big thing and I can’t reveal it. If you want to see the reactions on this series, make sure you check out the Super Reaction Bros.!

Top Five Songs!

1. Ignite by. Alan Walker! First on my list is a song by Alan Walker who performed at this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas! This year it was in May rather than June to keep people cool at night. I never heard of Alan Walker until I saw a video of his set and it brings an awesome beat but this song called, “Ignite,” got me loving his music even more. I do like his first song, “Fade,” from his early days but this one fits the sci-fi theme we pull on here, I would so use this as a theme song if YouTUbe doesn’t get mad.
2. “Odd Future” English Cover by. Jonathan Young: Next is another cover by Jonathan Young and it’s the fourth My Hero Academia theme song called “Odd Future.” I I’ve been loving this anime a lot and thank you Gondras for showing it to me and need to watch more of but this is one of my fave songs from that series.
3. “Dirty” by. Sevendust! Oh yeah! My Southern Metal boys are back and this time with a newer song! Apparently they have released new music and this song is called “Dirty.” It kind of goes back to their more metal roots since the Seasons album had more of a softer sound and their song, “Unraveling” was also pretty soft but do like it but this one it calls back to what I knew Sevendust for and kept it up!
4. “History Maker” Cover by. Nate Wants to Battle: I know this is not new but I can’t stop listening to it because it always get in my head, plus May was all about meeting with my destiny of getting my job offer, getting to go to the NFB National Convention, and of course being accepted at Northern Arizona. I am following my dreams people!
5. “Lion Skin” by. Hands like Houses: Even though there have been other songs that have been appearing on my I Heart Radio but this one was unique out of all the music that has been on there lately. I’ve never heard of this band but if I had then I wouldn’t have looked at their info but this song is a really good one. Almost reminds me of “Arrow” by Gackt in the beginning but then goes into its own song.
Well, that’s it for this bi-montly favorites. I know a lot of Wet N Wild was on this list because they have been in my makeup collection even more after using their powder and foundation. I may be adding Clearasil next time since the face wash I got was not a face wash but it was a face mask but I have the actual face wash so I will be giving another two months before I add them to my favorites since so far my skin has been getting better and people noticing in my pictures. So next time will be my review on the NFB National Convention since I need to take time to read some books! Until next time! And follow us on Twitter @ Nerdy Shique!
