Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm February 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post!

BoxyCharm February 2021

I bet you’re wondering, “Mari! Where’s the No Make No Life Box?” It is taking a long time to get here so hang tight on that, it did enter Florida finally but I will be announcing something with that, I even announced it on Twitter. I am going to move onto Boxy Charm though since that arrived first! This box is the base box where you get five full-size items ranging from prestige to luxury and it can be skin care and makeup and sometimes tools. This is a $25 a month box. You also get to choose an item every month. My box this month was a heavy one when it arrived and will be talking about that.

Ace Beauty Nostalgia Pallet: First up is my choice item and glad to get this since it was something from a brand I am starting to like and that’s ace beauty. I have enjoyed their bronzing pallet so far and enjoyed the Desert Dawn pallet as well. This one is a pallet known as the Nostalgia pallet. This pallet includes fifteen shades that inspire you to be creative and nostalgic of the fun times. It claims that each shade has been milled to give off great color pay off and after using Desert Dawn it was very pigmented and this pallet will be put to the test. I must see if Ace did provide shade descriptions on their website. This pallet retails for $38.

Livedo Age Away Hydrating Cream: Next up is something in skin care and glad that it is a moisturizer but from a brand I never heard of. This is a moisturizing cream that is supposed to help with fine lines and wrinkles and improves texture. It gives moisture with plant actives which include sea buckthorn and evening primrose oil. I hope that it would help with skin elasticity and I do love moisturizers. I hope it does not break me out with my sensitive skin though so I will have to see how this goes. This retails for $55.

Wonder Beauty Double Date Lip & Cheek: Next up is a product from Wonder Beauty and it is a double duty item and it is for both lips and cheeks. It’s a sheer tint and a universal balm  which can blend seamlessly on cheeks and helps heal lips. I must see how this goes as well since I do love using products that help the lips and not sure if I want to use it on my cheeks since my finger would touch the lips. This does retail for $22 though!

Hanskin Hyaluron Skin Essence: This is a skin product who developed the first K-Beauty BB Cream. This essence helps someone be able to achieve the glass skin look with sodium allurate. This was the heaviest product in my box so that it was so heavy when I was handed the box. It is a pretty big bottle and I know I will be using this for forever! This retails for $46.

Saint Luxe Beauty Limited Edition Liner Duo: Final item is a lip liner duo from Saint Luxe. I never heard of this brand either but claims to be moisturizing and long-lasting on the lips. Glad to get these too since I do not have that many lip liners anywhere in my collection so it’s good to have a lip liner duo on hand! This retails for $40 and man that is a bit pricey for two pencils.

Well, that is it for this box and I like it! It feels different from any of my other boxes and I did get a big bottle of essence. It is just in time for running out of the other bottle of essence I’ve received in No Make No life a few months back since that’s a smaller bottle. I will enjoy the shadow pallet and see how that goes. Glad to get more lip liners since that is a must even with liquid lipsticks. What is next in the box line up? If I do not get the NMNL box then it will be my first Glam Bag X! So, stay tuned!

The Tag Quadrant: My Beauty Community

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe. I am back with a new post!

My Beauty Community Tag!

This was created by Kara C which was made after Shane Awesome posted on Twitter about how all beauty creators are “toxic.” Yes, I put that in quotes but I did talk about this on our podcast, Nerdy Shique Transmissions, that we are not all toxic since we are not like the problematic ones. So, this tag was made to shout out the ones that we love and enjoy since I have been someone who watched YouTube from 2008 onward and have missed the Beauty Space for some time. Let’s get into this but first…

Disclaimer: The YouTube people I am talking about is based on my own thoughts and opinions and the ones I chose are based on who fits what. Please respect my choices.

The YouTuber That Makes You Laugh: First is someone that makes you laugh and I have to give it to Teresa Is Dead. I just got into her recently because so many people have recommended her and finally got to watch her stuff and man she does crack me up. I also want to give it to Nappy Headed Hahoba which she doesn’t do many beauty stuff but she is also entertaining. I got into her all thanks to Jen Luv’s Reviews interviewing her and it was pretty funny and I did watch one of her videos or two or maybe three but she is pretty funny and I do love her catch phrase at the end.
The Person That Teaches You: I have to give it to Jen Luv’s Reviews! I got into her all thanks to watching monthly Ipsy videos when I wanted to know who else got what and then knew about her weekly live chats and her group, what’s up in Makeup. I love how she does her makeup videos because she breaks down a lot of products when it comes to ingredients and how they work, how high up it is in the list and so on and what I also like about her is that she does mention what skin type won’t like the product. It does help me since I do have a lot of sensitive and dry skin especially when she points out the alcohol being drying even denatured alcohol over time. I will admit I used to use alcohol for acne and it did dry my skin and ever since I moved from Orlando to the coast I have a better skin regimen now then I had before. Plus, she makes me think when it comes to the topics she talks about on her chat because we hardly think about it until she explains what she sees and how she observes. Also, she does mention she is not perfect in her edits and I am happy that she is not. We always want the perfect person on YouTube but we do make mistakes and glad Jen does do her edits and say that she messed up or explains something better. One video I do want to recommend is the one on lip balms which is a two part video because it explains the ingredients especially the bad ones and I think that should be something everyone should know when it comes to taking care of the lips.
A Creator That Lifts Others Up: I give it to Jen again because she always shouts out so many people on YouTube and tells everyone to check their channel out and of course Smoky Glow too since she is always a sweetheart and honestly talks about different topics. I rather watch someone who lifts other YouTubers and say what it is when it comes to products and all thanks to Smoky Glow she did mention Smashbox when it came to brands being forgotten and that is my next episode on my channel for Beauty Forgotten.
A Creator You Respect: This is an interesting category but one I do respect is 90s Love Child. I came onto her with the deconstruction of Kat Von D and how honest she is when it came to how much the brand changed within the past few years and she does give a lot of honesty in her Anti-Hauls, her Beauty Regrets, and so on and it is one of those channels should be watched when it comes to not buying anything.
Someone’s Collection You Love: I have to give it to both Young Wild & Polished and Angelica Nyquist! Reason being is that I have watched these two and I am impressed with what they have. Young Wild & Polished is mostly into nail colors but she does love eye shadows and she got me interested in Makeup Geek which I am trying to explore a little more and her hauls have been something I have enjoyed. I rarely see her post but I think so many people post so many videos in my subscription feed that it’s hard to keep up. While Angelica, I do love how she does her Makeup Going On the Wish List or Nah videos because like me she is trying to curb the purchasing and I like how honest she is towards what gets released with the brands she already buys from. I do find it interesting that Sweden does get some releases that we don’t or they get it first before we get it and I also find it interesting that Glossy Box was originally from Sweden and they get different items in their boxes. I also want to add and forgot about this creator and that is Spooky Lips & Fat Hips because she has a huge trunk for her pallets and makeup! I wonder how heavy that is since she and her boyfriend did move to an apartment in New York and she has talked about brands that she has been eyeing so many things on but also wants to go through a Low Buy which the struggles are real.
Creator Whose Creativity Inspires You: Wow, this is hard because so many people have given me ideas for doing tags and I’ve seen so many who have done so many makeup looks but I would say Danielle Schmidt and Nicole Quinn. Danielle is a very peppy personality and when she had her divorce I’ve noticed how she limited her makeup purchasing and I think she inspired me in doing a Low Buy because I notice that my bank account goes pretty low after buying something from Ipsy sometimes or Ulta and so on. I do have to say is that all thanks to her doing one tag which is What Would I Grab from a Fire? I show her my post and she replied and was impressed with what I chose since she does reply to her comments. With Nicole Quinn, on the other hand, I do love how she does her many looks videos which I want to do something like that with some of my pallets I don’t always have the time to do but she does inspire me into looking at the colors and know what to work with in that pallet. I also have bought some of the Urban Decay releases all thanks to her videos that deal with looks, I even saw her Naked Ultraviolet Review and I am looking forward to this pallet since it is going to be released on Ulta’s website and app tomorrow and she did point out some of the shades she had some good use of. I can’t wait to do my video on it.
Creators You Want to Be Friends with in Real Life: Jen Luv’s Reviews, Hot Mess Mama MD and Spooky Lips & Fat Hips! Reasons with Jen is that she is very nice and she always loves to talk to people when it comes to giving makeup advice, also talking about new releases, and of course she has been starting to do things to interact with the audience more like making one of her live shows more of a radio show recently which was really cool. Not only that, she does look out for people even has her community mods looking out for her group and YouTube. Back in 2018 when I started working I got a message from one of the mods about how one of my makeup pictures was posted in a makeup bullying group where they roast your looks and they kicked the girl out for it because it is a huge no-no in the group. So I got home and did a live video saying not to be the makeup bully because I was devastated about it and even told everyone on the post that was talking about these groups that have been popping up that I was a victim. I talked about my video and they asked for the link and I did and Jen was one of the people who commented on it and I was happy and it did cheer me up. With Hot Mess Mama MD, I would love to be friends with her in real life because of how she accepts herself as a makeup addict. The addiction is real and you can get caught up in it very quickly where you can buy a lot of makeup without realizing it and I have done that when I first opened my Ulta card and I am working on getting it paid which is harder than I thought. I also love how she does videos with her kids especially the Mother vs. Daughter with Ipsy and she used to do chats as well. And finally Spooky Lips, she is a total nerd and I can talk with her about our favorite fandoms all day. I even love how she does her chats or used to do them but rarely see any posts, I guess due to the amount of people I subscribe to but she has a very awesome personality and I would love to visit New York and visit her.
Creators I Want to See Grow: I would have to see us! As in Nerdy SHique Universe! Even though we started just doing convention related content but we do want to keep stuff going up in between conventions because we don’t attend all of them like we used to and you know some reasons why and other reasons is due to funds and we have to sometimes choose wisely. Yes, I am keeping an eye out for RangerStop 8 because we had a blast and I want to keep going because it is small and people are fun and friendly to hang with. Plus I am among the blind creators and I do get to sit down with people and interview and of course we do have our podcast now which I want to grow that as well. Another person I want to see grow is Porcelain because I love how she is honest with her thoughts on makeup even the products she has used and how well they worked and how much they didn’t work. Plus YouTube is her full time job which she did have a retail job that didn’t go well due to her mental health but I want to see her grow as a channel and I love her personality as in she is Goth but she is so happy all the time in her videos. She does go serious sometimes but most of the time she is all smiles!
A Creator That Gives Off Good Vibes: There are so many but I would have to give it to Hot Mess Mama MD because like I said she accepts who she is and she doesn’t have to fake it. I also give it to Elizabeth Wolf because she talks about BoxyCharm and any spoilers to look out for. And finally Self Taught Beauty, I love this woman’s personality because of how she says it best that she likes to not only do beauty content but other things sometimes.

Well guys that is it for this tag post! Man there were a lot! I do have to say is check out these creators because they need some love on YouTube especially now since everything has become one nuclear mess due to what is going on. We need to support the smaller creators since they can get there and still stay true to themselves without getting an expensive car and other things. If we would, we would so have the Supernatural Jeep due to our nerd sides but we already have a car that we deem the Tartus. Anyways, next will be that book review since I am wrapping up in reading it. I am so sorry about that since June was a bit of a crazy month for me, especially before going into it. Stay tuned guys!

The Tag Quadrant: All About My Eye Shadow Pallets!

Hello to you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new tag post!

Eye Shadow Pallet Tag!

I’ve been seeing this tag around and have seen a few and wanted to do this one and that is the Eye Shadow Pallet Tag. I have a lot of shadow pallets and haven’t been buying any lately, last one I got was the Tuscany Intense Pallet and waiting for Cremated to be re-stocked so let’s see what I have to say! Also…

Disclaimer: This tag is based on thoughts on shadow pallets that the writer of this blog owns. Please don’t judge her tastes and purchase decisions that will be mentioned! Thank you!

Show Your Newest Pallet: My newest pallet is the Ease to Wear Pallet from Studio Makeup which came in my BoxyCharm this month. This is a neutral pallet that anyone can wear and it smells like Tarte shadows not going to lie. I haven’t been using it because I haven’t been wearing that much makeup during the quarantine and well this past Tuesday I got hurt all thanks to a dumpster door at our dumpster in my complex hitting me in the face and cutting my cheek open so I have to wait until the sutures fall off before I use my skin care or makeup. Glad I did get this even though there was another shadow pallet that could have been placed in my box but neutral is my way to go for everyday if I wanted and also for work looks. I will have to use this at some point.
Show Your Oldest Pallet: I would have to say my oldest pallet would be the Urban Decay Smoked Pallet that is the zipped up pallet that also came with the 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Perversion and I remembered getting this. I was still a student at the time at my workplace and when Ulta said that this is on sale for half-off I decided to get it since I have enjoyed the Naked Basics pallet since I already used up my old Naked Basics before I opened my newer one when it was on the discontinued list. I remembered one time I wore the Smoked and took a picture for What’s up in Makeup and people made fun of my look and I never knew people could be mean if you use something that can be a bit vintage in your collection and I have loved this pallet since I do love doing smoky eyes for years. I still have it but haven’t touched it after that photo. I have a feeling it was used in the makeup shaming group because this happened to me when I started working where I got a message on Messenger from the WUM Moderators and they told me what had happened and I was upset and did a video about it when I got home. Not sure if it was that picture but it is a feeling.
Show you’re Most Expensive Pallet: I give it to both the Jeffree Starr Blue Blood Pallet and the Urban Decay Game of Thrones Pallet! If I got Cremated that would be in this too but nope! Anyways, these two pallets were purchased last year. When I saw Bunny talking about the Blue Blood pallet I had to have it because she described the shades so well and I love blue so much! I was lucky to get the bundle with the liquid lipsticks and have enjoyed what I created so far. I still have shadows in there to try in that thing which I haven’t pulled out as of late but I may combine it with some looks with Cremated. While Game of Thrones, I am a fan of the books to tell you the truth, still reading A Feast for Crows which will take me forever to read due to how long these books are! Anyways, this was a collector’s item and the shades are beautiful but I heard some people were having issues with blending but I think I was able to have an easy time with it since I was using the House Starke quad from this and Urban Decay is really pigmented with their shadows and have no issues. Plus this had FOMO written all over it even though I was able to purchase it on the Urban Decay website and had to wait for the Mother of Dragons Highlighter Pallet to come to Ulta. I admit I haven’t touched it in a while since it is kind of heavy and still want to try more of the other quads and mix and match.
Show Your Most Affordable Shadow Pallets: I do have two of the E. L. F. Bite Size pallets but I haven’t used them yet like most people but I would give this to the Colour Pop Nude Mood Shadow Pallet! I have heard how awesome the monochromatic pallets that Color Pop has been releasing like crazy but the one that got me was Nude Mood due to the colors being pretty. I did use it once and they were really pigmented and easy to blend. If you haven’t tried the powder formula you must because it is a really good formula and you can get single shadows for $5 and customize your own pallet.
Show Your Every Day Pallet: This one’s hard but I would have to say the pallet I created with shadows from Coastal Scents! It is a Z Pallet with shadow pans I purchased through the Hot Pot sales that Coastal Scents tend to do off and on and I love these things because I can just customize to my heart’s content and be able to have an everyday look with whatever I wear. Plus I have a blush in there too that is every day wear and they are easy to blend. A little bit of warning make sure you don’t stick your finger and get it on your skin, I had that happen to me a couple of times and my supervisor had to help me clean that up. Anyways, they are really good and yes the price did go up to $3 but worth it even with the half off sale. I did have to get replacements for my blue shadow column since I sometimes wear blue outfits and want to match and glad to get new shades for that column.
Show Your Most Colorful Pallet: I give this to the Vintage Dawn pallet from Ace Bouteau! Reason being is that it is my most colorful free standing pallet and also my Ulta makeup sets I got last Christmas time. First to mention the Vintage Dawn pallet since I got it in BoxyCharm. This pallet features shadows that can be seen at dawn and it feels that they chose really interesting shades to play with such as yellow, yellow orange, a few reds, even two blues in this pallet and it’s fun to play around to give an interesting take on the color wheel because you can go all colorful or all neutral with the browns, the green, the golds and so on. I want to get the Scarlet Dusk and see if I can how the shadows can play with each other since that has more of a red and purple feel but in the meantime I do have this one. While the Ulta sets, on the other hand, you can play with so many things with these sets. They have so many colors in the big ones as well and you can do so many looks with the shadows. I have to give it to Glamour On the Go because it has really pretty green shades alongside blues and of course I will be taking this with me to conventions since it is a compact set I can just pull out and not have to worry about putting so many makeup pallets or compacts in my luggage. I still have the Be Gorgeous set in tact since that was a colorful dream right there from 2017 and still my favorite.
Show Your Smallest Pallet: My Urban Decay Naked Mini Pallet! I haven’t touched this either but felt like mentioning it since I got it in the Urban Decay Honey Set which came with the Amber eyeliner, the Honey Setting Spray, and the Honey Shadow Primer Potion and I love the Naked Honey Pallet and was wondering if like the Naked Heat if it was coming out with a mini as well and guess what? It did but in a set which kind of sucked but hey what can you do? This is in a different format from the mini versions of Naked and Naked 2 and Heat where this used more of a cardboard packaging over the plastic and it had the shadows three by three and side by side which I prefer! There are times where I see them in a row and not sure where they are positioned and grab the wrong one but here it is better to get what you need since they are side by side and do a three shadow look. I have to use this and see how it goes and use it with my Naked Honey pallet too since like with Heat it did come with shadows that didn’t appear in the Naked Honey.
Show Your Biggest Pallet: I have mentioned it but my Game of Thrones and of course giving it to the Emily Edit Wants Pallet from Makeup Revolution. The Game of Thrones pallet came in a box that you slide the pallet out and you have the throne pull out on top which made it pretty heavy in the first place but wishing it was in a pallet that just shows off scenes in pictures than just the wasteful throne. My opinion right there. While the Emily Edit Wants Pallet, it was really good! I know there was some controversy about the application of this pallet but I had no issue putting it on with my brushes since there are times where brushes do apply makeup well and other times a finger would do and I am not a finger in my application person. I would only do it with shadow primers if need be and guiding my pencils and brushes. This pallet was big for the amount of shadows you get and they are colors that fit with Emily’s life and did like how she put the pallet together. I did enjoy the green shades and of course the maroon type shades that came in this pallet yes Makeup Revolution can be hit or miss but glad this was a hit!
Show Your Pallet With the Best Memory: I would give it to the Too Faced Merry Macarons pallet! I remembered this one sold out all over the place during 2016 and it was on my Christmas List and when I found out it was back in stock at the Ulta my dad went to because he wanted to still get it for me since he felt bad about it selling out and when I heard it was in stock I begged the store associate over the phone to hold it for me. She tried being snippety about it like, “Not sure if we can do that.” And then I said, “Please!” A couple of times and she said, “Fine, I will hold it until noon for you.” And I rushed to my dad’s room and got him up and out of bed and told him what happened and he got me the pallet even though it did come with the Better Than Sex Mascara deluxe size but mainly cared about the shadow pallet. I still have it and it’s still pigmented. The smell slightly gone away since it was a subtle cookie smell to it.
Show A Pallet With A Lot of Hype: I give it to the Naked Honey pallet from Urban Decay and the Beached Pallet from them too. I remembered when the Beached Pallet coming out for summer 2018 and was still living with my parents and this caught my eye so much! I saw so many people talking about the shades even the teal shades really caught my interest due to how nice and deep they were and they did go well with the bronze shades in this pallet. Plus it’s easy to travel and you can just use a few here and there for a nice look and add either a blue liner or a bronze liner. While the Naked Honey, on the other hand, this was a really good pallet and people have enjoyed it, even me, plus so many compliments were made on what I wore with this pallet. I think this was the best release from Urban Decay in 2019 since they have done three or four releases last year and glad they stuck it to that since most brands are over saturating the market and this has been a brand I turned to for their Naked pallets if I wanted to pull one out for a particular look.
Show a Pallet that’s not worth the Hype: Sorry guys but anything Morphe is not worth the hype. I feel that so many people hype the brand up that I can’t go a few videos without hearing that this brand is amazing or use my code and so on. I have heard how the Jacklyn Hill Vault was not that great and how she re-released it within a month and as most companies do it and explain, like Marlena from Makeup Geek and Jeffree Starr, eye shadows take time to formulate and press and on top of that go through try on to see if the formula is just right before release and I feel that Moirphe just presses and releases with a lot of their shadow pallets. After trying the Vegan Brush set I felt like my money is better in going towards better brush sets from other brands and shadows I have loved over time.
Show A Favorite Pallet From a Favorite Brand: The Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics! I love this pallet because it is so versatile and I love it as a go to work pallet. It is so blendable and I love the color scheme in this pallet since it just have more of a softer look to it and love how it stays on. I did find out the hard way that they discontinued the Naked 2 which makes me sad about that and hoping they bring a Naked 2 Reloaded pallet like with the first and I did notice that the mirror always fell off in the Naked 2 which was pretty bad so I had to toss it. Hoping they do a relaunch of the Naked 2. Still the Naked 2 Basics is always a favorite from Urban Decay in my book and hoping they keep it!

Well guys that is it for this tag! Glad to do this since it does kind of made me think about what I’ve enjoyed in my collection and what I have missed since I haven’t touched some of my makeup throughout quarantine unless it was to try something new for Instagram or for a video. Glad that this tag was created and had fun talking about eye shadow pallets from the past and the present and my thoughts on them. What is next? Reading another book so you have to wait and see! Until next time! Stay beautiful!

Subscription Satelite: March & April 2020 Review Round Up

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with another post!

Subscription Review Round Up: March & April 2020

It is time for my subscription round up for March and April and man I feel like GB Plus has kind of lost its mark these two months which I will get into once I get to it. Let me start with BoxyCharm!

Disclaimer: This Review Round Up is based on thoughts on the items I received in my boxes and how I feel about them. I am very honest with my experiences so please don’t get mad if you enjoyed these products. Thank you!

BoxyCharm: I feel like Boxy has done very well for itself for March and April but I did have one pet peeve item arrive during this month. I did set aside my Murad Ultra Moisture for Eyes which I will not say the entire name, don’t get why skin care brands have extended names for items, since I am still using my E. L. F. one at the moment and have another eye item in rotation once that’s done. I haven’t used my Hank & Henry pallet as of yet, I did contact them for a pallet description and no answer yet which I may have to contact them again. Farmacy is still unopened since I still have a pack of makeup wipes unopened but will get to this when I am done with those. The Vintage by Jessica lip gloss was good but I did not like the brush. It kept on folding in on itself and I had a hard time putting the wand back into its tube. I prefer doe foot applicators over brush ones any day. And finally the Project Beauty Hair Yogurt Mask did feel good on my hair and it did smell very good. I wished there was more product since my hair was growing a bit slightly and of course it was pretty thick and had to put a lot on to use this product. Hey, at least I got to use it!

April was good until one item and that is that they sent me lashes! You know my stance on them and here is the thing with getting these. If BoxyCharm was looking at people’s profiles and what they marked for certain products, for instance when they looked for people’s skin type for the Benefit Porefessional this month, they should have paid attention to what everyone else has marked or not. I did double check my quiz and on the tools question I marked everything EXCEPT lashes. I know everyone will say that they make your look pretty but wearing them over time damages your actual lashes due to pulling them off every night and also I did not know this but they do block out your eye look and if I went through the hassle of trying a new pallet and blended to my heart’s content and put lashes what’s the point? And another thing is that we have mascaras that do the length, do the volume, and some of them even help with lash growth. So that is one step I don’t do. I was happy with the Benefit Porefessional which is the hydrating one which they did pay attention to me marking dry skin which I do have. I am using my newer E. L. F. Putty Face Primer which I do enjoy due to how creamy it is and I will start using the Benefit one when I am done with that one. The brushes I did enjoy which I prefer using these for more of the smaller areas of my eyes rather than going all over. They are nice but they are small in comparison to the brushes I use in my brush pouch. I will still use these though but for mainly a precise crease and my brow bone. I did enjoy the Zoeva pallet I’ve also received and it was perfect for my complexion. So many people over in What’s Up in Make Up loved my looks that I did with it. Also using the Iconic London Illuminator was pretty good since it was really easy to blend after spreading it with my finger. I just dabbed a little bit and used my highlighting brush from Alamar and there I go!

Ipsy: March and April were also really good for Ipsy Glam Bag and March was the hundredth bag celebration and we got six items and went back to five in April!

I did enjoy the Hanalei lip balm in peppermint and all I have to say is that despite the mint in this product it did moisturize my lips! It’s a lot better than the Suzanne Somers lip balm my soon=to=be-mother-in-law gave me which was also mint but the issue I had with that one is that it never went on my lips unlike this one it went very well on my lips since it was in a stick. Its interesting know that mint is not the best ingredient in lip balms but hey at least this was a good one. With the Girlactic liner I just put it with my work makeup and sorry to say I am getting tired of getting black eyeliner in my boxes. I do love a good black liner but I do like to use colorful ones to match my eye looks time to time and wondering what had happened. I mean Boxy got two colorful liners and wishing I got those instead and they were in pink and blue and wondering what is going on Ipsy! I know black is a universal color that can be worn with any look but you need to get back into the variety game since years ago you gave out other colors. I did enjoy the Hey Honey Propalus Moisturizer since I didn’t go to Omni due to what is going on in the world. It felt really cooling on my skin and I did trade my points in for another tube which I will talk about that with GB Plus and wishing it was not so pricey. Hoping it does go on the 21 Days of Beauty in September! I also enjoyed the Complex Culture All Over Eye Brush when packing on shadow all over my lids. It is very soft for a brush and it does help with blending as I go. But I do feel that it is too big for the crease so that is why it’s a lid brush. The Naked Cosmetics Mother Nature Pigment was okay in my book. I think I felt that I had to dip in twice since it did say it’s best to apply with fingers but with our current situation I needed a brush for this thing. I do have some of the loose pigments around in my room so I will be using those! And finally for this bag is the Sugar Cosmetics Uptown Curl mascara and man this knows how to curl my lashes! I do have this with my work mascaras because I do enjoy a nice curl time to time and it does separate my lashes very well. I hope to try more mascaras from Sugar Cosmetics since they are a pretty good brand and have been enjoying what I’ve tried so far by them.

April is back to five items and man I felt that this was a really exciting bag with what I got! First is the Nomad Cosmetics Tuscany Intense Eye Shadow in Aperitivo was something I was excited about since it was my choice item. I have been enjoying this brand and they are the nicest people on the planet! I’ve been talking with one of the founders since I have been tagging them on Instagram with any looks with their items even with the Berlin Underground pallet and they do love to travel and I can see why the brand is known for being named after destinations. This shadow is from their Tuscany Intense nine shadow pallet which I did purchase for a video I want to do spotlighting this brand since my next choice for May in GB Plus is from this brand too. I won’t reveal it until that arrives. I love how this shadow did go on really smoothly and I do love how they use oils in their shadows as well which I think this was made with grape seed oil but it was a smooth shadow. I am glad I did purchase the pallet and I did get two face items since they did release a new New York Collection to donate to charities helping with the world situation right now. They even have done donations towards the Australian Bush Fires this past year in their summer in Australia. Anyways, glad to get this! I got another item from murad which is their Nutrient Charged Water Gel which feels really good on the skin! I use this on my face before makeup so it would soak in while I put on my eye shadow and gives it time to settle in as I go. I hope this will be on the next 21 Days of Beauty because with what I’ve been trying out from Murad I’ve been liking a lot and I find it better to purchase it half-off rather than full price during the sales at Ulta because you feel that you’re getting good skin care even with sensitive skin and you’re not going into the territory of Sunday Riley prices either. Plus this sample is lasting me pretty well because I don’t need too much for an application. I have enjoyed the LoveCraft lipstick in Fausta because it does go on smooth and I feel like it stays put on my lips and it is just so comfortable to wear! I wish most lipsticks were like this one because I feel how drying most of them can be and it feels so uncomfortable after applying some of them. Next is a brush from Ariceli which I feel like it was really scratchy. When I use a blending brush I expect it being soft as I put shadow on my eyes but this one it felt like straw as I put on the Nomad shadow. I think they should improve this brush and hoping if I get more brushes from these guys that they aren’t as scratchy either. And finally I am really happy that I got a bronzer and it’s from Space Case Cosmetics and I loved this bronzer and how well it applies. It almost feels like a Super Shock item from Colour Pop but it is more on the powder side. It is pretty compact in its packaging and glad that I got to get this and hoping I get more bronzers in my Glam Bag because this is the only one I got so far ever since I got back into Ipsy in 2018. So don’t stop sending bronzers! I put “Love It!” For the do you like bronzer’s question.

Glam Bag Plus: March was disappointing and April was a huge road trip for it. March was the same as the Glam Bag where I got six items as well and here was the weird thing about it. Three of the items I got were right and the other three were switched out for some reason for different products and got replacements. The items that were right were the Glam Glow Tropical Cleanser, which I just started using and it smells nice, the Phase Zero Liquid Lipstick which ran out pretty fast, and the Complex Culture Concealer Brush which was a huge triangle shaped brush head that felt like it wouldn’t fit anywhere. I used it for my under eye powder because I felt it was better to do that than just trying to put concealer. Speaking of which, the items that were wrong happened to be the Hey Honey Concealer in Light to Medium which is not so bad, the Balm Girl Powder Blush Pallet which was good even though I chose the eye shadow pallet not this, and the HEMPZ Body Moisturizer in Pineapple which I always notice when it gets to a certain level in the travel size it is hard to squeeze. I did end up getting the items I was supposed to get and the Coffee Scrub which was messy but it was effective in what it did which helped with some of my dry patches. The Pic Perf pallet was really good where the shadows were really pigmented and the primer was better than that crappy E. L. F. Putty Eye Primer and of course god got another eyeliner. I don’t get why they didn’t say, “Wait a minute!” When they were putting together my box. When I sent the email I explained what was missing and even shown screen shots and was asked what I was missing and had to tell them again.

April was a road trip! When it got to Orlando it was close to drop off date and saw that tracking took it to opposite of my part of the state and caused them to send it back to Daytona and then Jacksonville and then to me! I’ve been living at the same address for close to two years and this happens. Apparently was an error on DHL’s half and my post office according to Ipsy. I did get everything right and have been enjoying the items. I used the eyeliner from Tarte and no bleeding! I did enjoy the blush and highlighter pallet which was easy to use where the blushes were on the bottom and the highlighters were on top. The Ciate mascara did feel good but need to have a habit of putting the lash primer, my lashes did look and feel full with it on though! The Crème Rose did feel good on my legs and slightly helping with the dryness even though the scales are kind of there. I do admit when I squeeze I get too much product and wishing it was in a tub rather than a tube because I think I would need more than just a big dollop with how much dryness I am going through to this day. Hoping to get more lotions as time goes on because having lotions time to time in these boxes does help and give an idea of what’s out there. And of course the lipstick! It looks amazing on me from what so many people have said. I did post a picture yesterday of me who did a look with the blush and highlighter pallet, the lipstick, the eyeliner, and the Zephyr pallet from Eleman and everyone liked it and someone said that Brick should be my signature color due to how it looks with my skin tone. When I was job searching and starting to work I did wear a Rimmel lip gloss close to the color of this shade. I will be definitely keep this in my makeup bag and do love the comfort of this lipstick! I did put a sticker to mark this tube to show what which one it is whenever I need to get another one.

That is it for the review on the products. I would have to say that the Glam Bag kind of beat the other two in my opinion. How so? Well, I feel like that the items were catered to my profile very well for both months even with the choices in how they were built around them. Also, I got to try another Murad product and another Hey Honey product on top of it. Also, I feel like they didn’t throw an item I didn’t like like with the lashes in Boxy this month or screw up the items like with my March GB Plus. I know not all brands are perfect but I feel that should have done better. Now hoping next month I won’t get any lashes nor have any of my subscriptions take a road trip across the state before I get it and get squished on top of that. Next post will be a new Accessibility post! Stay tuned!

Favorites Quadrant: First Quarter 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

First Quarter Favorites 2020!

It’s time for the first quarter favorites. As you probably have seen at the end of last year that I was going to do quarterly favorites instead of bi-monthly favorites this year. It’s kind of stressful and easier to talk about my favorites and what I’ve been using and what I think! Let’s get into it!

Not-So-Favorite: E. L. F. Putty Eye Shadow Primer: First is not much of a fave because it sucked! The E. L. F. Putty Eye Primer was it this time around! For a little while now I’ve been using the Poreless Putty Primer which I got in my final Allure Beauty Box and remembered how Jeffree Starr said this was approved by him and everyone bought it out everywhere as in everywhere sold out until now which you can buy again. I was able to find it at my local Target which was good. When I saw that they have an eye shadow primer I decided to pick it up and when I used it it was not my favorite. It was so dry I was afraid that my shadow was not showing. I even asked the Collective Brain at What’s up in Makeup and people experienced the same thing except the rose one. I did not go further to try this because I was so done with it and I have tried better eye primers, heck the Lorac one that came with their Pro Pallets is better than this one. I would say use your favorite eye primer guys because this was not worth it!

Favorite Moisturizer: Tony Moley Choc Choc Green Tea moisturizer: Next is from Tony Moley and have been enjoying what I’ve been using from them and this is one of them and that is their Choc Choc Green Tea Moisturizer. I use this at night to keep my face moisturized even before putting on my makeup and this feels really cooling to the skin. I was hoping to use the smaller tube I got in a bundle from Ipsy which I got Green Tea Sheet Masks, this and the the hand cream and like I said hoped to use it during Omni but with what’s going on in the world I have it with my daily makeup case. I will definitely buy this again since it doesn’t cost too much, it is almost the same price as Celestial from Lush except I get more moisture from this and green tea does have a lot of skin benefits.
Second Favorite Moisturizer: Murad Essential C Moisturizer! Another favorite is the Murad Essential C Moisturizer and glad to try it all thanks to GB Plus. I am glad that I’m getting to try out Murad all thanks to them and glad that 21 Days of Beauty put Murad on sale and this was one of the items on sale during this past one for half off and to tell you the truth is that this is the first SPF item I enjoy. As you know I have sensitive skin and sometimes SPF infused skin care and makeup doesn’t work out for me. First time this happened was with the Paula’s Choice Moisturizer with SPF 20 from my Ipsy August 2014 and my skin even hated the IT Cosmetics CC Cream I tried later due to the SPF. I was worried that it would do the same with this one and I decided to try it without makeup on top and it worked out and then the next day for work I had it underneath makeup and no break outs! It helps that this brand is meant for sensitive skin types like me and I can see why Grav3yard Girl loves this brand and I am enjoying it since I did get another tube of their AHA & BHA Cleanser I also tried all thanks to GB Plus and it was also on sale during 21 Days. I hope the Water Gel is in the next one which I say if you are curious to try Murad after what I have tried wait for the 21 Days of Beauty sale because it goes half off during that time at Ulta because this brand is very pricey even was surprised that this moisturizer is $60. Ow! Again wait for the 21 Days of Beauty for Murad’s sales.

Favorite Cleanser: Tony Moley Foaming Peach Cleanser! Next is a cleanser and that is from Tony Moley again but this time it’s their Peach Foaming Cleanser from their peach line! This fits the claims because it is really gentle on the skin, it foams and feels as good on the skin as it does and it smells amazing! I have tried the Peach Cleansing Sherbet but it is not as good as the Foaming Cleanser. I will definitely keep on buying this even on sale since I did go through the President’s Day special where it was Buy One Get One Half Off I believe but it was worth it and will keep me stocked. So far so good Tony Moley has been great on my skin and they are really sensitive skin friendly!

Favorite Body Scrub: HEMPZ Herbal Body Scrub! Next is a body scrub which is a first. Since the end of last year my legs have been dry and itchy for a long while and even developed scaly bits on my legs. I tried everything even layering body lotions until this popped up in one of my Ulta emails and that is that HEMPZ had new items including an herbal body scrub and had to try it. I noticed it because I was getting a coffee body scrub in GB Plus and figured it would help with my legs and it is helping out. My skin is losing some of the dryness at a slow rate but it is helping as time goes on. Skin care doesn’t work overnight so at least it is helping getting the scales off and I am not itchy anymore which is good. Yay! Will keep on using though.

Favorite Face Primer: E. L. F. Poreless Putty Primer! Like I mentioned above I’ve been using the E. L. F. Poreless Putty Face Primer lately. I’ve been enjoying the creaminess and how much my makeup stays on top. It does have a hard application with my Cover Girl Clean Makeup since I have to wet my sponge to spread it all over a bit more to get a better application. I don’t get why this product is creamier than the Putty Eye Primer? Okay E. L. F., whatever you did with this primer with the creamy consistency add it to the eye version because it needs it!

Favorite New Mascara: Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara! Lately I’ve been wearing more mascara to work because I became allergic to my Holy Grail Lash Gel and Brow Gel duo from E. L. F. the past couple of months and then switched to lash primers and mascaras which has been helping with application and not causing me any adverse effects. I am still trying out lash primers to see how they go but the mascara I’ve been enjoying is the Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara. This makes my lashes look amazing every time I wear it to work. I even worn it when I just put makeup at home. I miss wearing stuff from Flower Beauty and should keep on using this brand.

Favorite Face Pallet: Wonder Beauty Trip for Two Blush & Bronzer Duo! Next up is the Trip Two from Wonder Beauty. There are times where I reach for this and use it since it is easy to use. The bronzer is on the right and the blush is on the left and just dip brushes in and it’s good enough to travel with due to how small it is. Glad that I got this in one of my subscriptions because it’s easy to reach when I want to use one face pallet for my looks.

Favorite Highlighter: Colour Pop Stick in Peach! Last makeup item goes to the Color Pop Highlighter Sticks in Peach. When I was looking for a peach highlighter I found this one and found it amazing! Not only that when I wore it back in December to a party a friend did comment how my skin looked with this on. It is amazing and very smooth to get onto the cheeks. At first it was a bit rough but now it’s easier to get on. I hope this doesn’t get discontinued by Color Pop because it’s a good product and I enjoy it!

Favorite Book Series Thus Far: Playful Brides Series by Valerie Bowman! One of the books I’ve been reading leading up to the one I need to review is in the series called the Playful Brides. It’s a historical fiction series and I’ve been enjoying what I’ve been reading so far. It’s cute and the girls like Lucy, Cassandra, and now Jane are enjoyable. I am on book three where Jane is having her time to shine and it’s cute so far since she wants to be a spinster but she’s getting involved with a scandal. I have to keep on reading and don’t worry I will reach the book I need to review soon!

Favorite Song: “About a Voyage” by Sayori! I’ve been getting this song stuck in my head ever since Season 4 of My Hero Academia was being dubbed and it’s called “About a Voyage.” It’s very catchy and the funny thing is that the opening bars sound so innocent but when it starts that’s when it changes to an all-out rock song! I did download it and it’s on my phone and do play it when it gets in my head. Got to love how anime gets the catchiest songs!

Favorite Clothes Item: My Hero Academia Chibi Skater Skirt and United States of Smash Tour Long-Sleeved Shirt! Speaking of My Hero Academia! I do love this outfit and that is my chibi character skirt and my United States of Smash Tour shirt of All Might and the states that had smashes he has done. I even worn it to the second movie premiere back in February. This is what happens when I become a major fan of a series.
So guys that ends this favorites post! I think I prefer doing this because it gives me more time to try more things and bring it back to you guys in this post! I hope you all enjoyed it and can’t wait to bring new things to the next Quarterly Favorites in August! I should be getting my GB Plus Tuesday so stay tuned!

THe Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm March 2020!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

BoxyCharm March 2020!

Now it’s time for my BoxyCharm for this month! This box is $25 a month and you get from prestige all the way to luxury products ranging from ones you find in the store to independent brands. You also get to choose a product every month for this box! Let’s see what I got this month!

Murad Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes: First up is a product from Murad and it’s my choice item! This is the Murad Ultimate Moisture for Eyes which is an eye cream that helps with fine lines and wrinkles and has a blend of hyrolonic acid and algae extracts to moisturize the eye area and great for sensitive skin. When I saw this as a choice item I had to try it since the other item happened to be a curling wand and sorry my hair is already curly so don’t need that. I have had pretty good experiences with Murad since they are well known for being good for sensitive skin and I believe it. I am still using the AHA and BHA scrub in my shower and have used up the Essential C Moisturizer and now get to try this out. This retails for $70!
Hank & Henry Living In Color Pallet: This month there were three shadow pallets and they were the Tarte Tartist ReMix Pallet, the BoxyCharm Hello Charmer Pallet, and this one the Hank & Henry Living In Color Pallet. I’ve heard of this brand and I got the eyeliner in my box a few months back but didn’t like it due to how the chisel tip was not working out for me but glad to get this pallet! This is a nine pan pallet that is inspired by both the 90s and 2000s and it can be worn on their own. I have to see what shades are in this pallet to see if I want to do certain looks with it. This retails for $27.
Pharmacy Very Cherry Cleansing Balm: Next is a product from Pharmacy and it’s their Very Cherry Cleansing Balm. I have used the Green Clean and got that as add-ons with my Ipsy and this time I got this version which is the cherry one in this subscription. Like the Green Clean it takes and melts makeup off leaving skin silky smooth and moisturized. When I tried the Green Clean my second time I noticed how my eyes stung a little bit which I am hoping this doesn’t happen with this one so I have to see how it goes! Glad to get another makeup cleansing item so I won’t have to stock up so soon! This item retails for $34!
Vintage by. Jessica Libersteind in Pink Sequin: Next is a lip gloss from a brand I’ve never heard of and it’s Vintage by Jessica Libersteind and the lip gloss is in Pink Sequin. This gloss is a sheer and glittery formula that you can wear alone or on top of other lip products. I prefer using a sheer lip gloss over other colors to give it a pop since my lips are a bit on the natural side and have to see how well it pairs with lipstick or liquid lipstick. This item retails for $25.
Project Beauty Haircut Almond Honey Intense Hair Yogurt Hair Mask: Final item is a hair mask from Project Beauty! I haven’t gotten a hair mask in so long since I’ve stopped using them especially when at certain times of the year I tend to get dandruff scabs even when the spring starts and have to start using the dandruff shampoo again. Which I have to do that right now and so far it’s doing okay. Anyways, this is another brand I’ve never heard of and this makes is made with yogurt protein, probiotics, kinwa, botanical and shea butters to help repair the hair. I will definitely use this since I do sometimes feel a little bit of dryness and can help strengthen my hair a bit. This retails for $10 which is not too bad!

Well guys that is it for this box! This was a pretty good box and glad I didn’t get anything from KVD Vegan Beauty. I know she is no longer with her brand but it still has her initials and you know my stance towards her lip products which are too drying for my liking. I’m glad to try out a new hair mask, a new lip gloss, the cherry version of Pharmacy’s cleansing balm, and of course something new from Murad which I do have some eye creams I am going through right now. I’m also glad to try another thing from Hank & Henry too since the eyeliner was not my favorite so I will definitely give them a chance with this pallet. I did select my choice for April and can’t wait to see what they give me for that since it’s an eye shadow pallet from Zoava and never tried them before. I hope BoxyCharm also gives me the card next month since I contacted them about that and no answer. I may have to bug them on Instagram or Facebook. Next will be GB Plus which I’m mad about and had to contact Ipsy about it too, just stay tuned guys!

Also, in case anyone has been following Nerdy SHique Transmissions, I haven’t done an episode last week due to what had happened to Omni Fandom Expo so I will be doing another and will give my thoughts on Corona Virus myself since now we are going into lock down too at work. Stay tuned for that episode.

The Subscription Satelite: Ipsy Glam Bag February 2020!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! Time for my last subscription post for this month!

Ipsy Glam Bag February 2020!

So, this bag came the day after my previous two boxes did and like with GB Plus, you get five deluxe and sometimes full size products in this bag and it’s also from prestige to luxury and sometimes indie and drugstore for $12 a month!

Colored Rain Liquid Lipstick in 24/7: First up is a product from Colored Rain Cosmetics and it’s their liquid lipstick in 24/7. I remembered how Nikkie Tutorials said that these lipsticks are amazing and agree with her! These lipsticks hardly budge and they stay on for a long time. This is a rosy nude color which is perfect shade for work and I don’t have to worry about re-applying since I do teach and it would stay on even when I have water. I’m glad to try this formula since I wanted to after seeing them at Riley Rose when they existed a little while back. Oh well! Hope to get more of these in future bags!
IT Cosmetics: Primer + Oil: I am going to stop at this since it has a long name. Why do brands give items really long names I don’t know! Anyways, this is the first item I finished in my bag because this tube was TINY! I am not kidding. I thought this was the hand cream which I will talk about later but had Seeing A. I. tell me with the Short Text Channel that this tiny tube was the primer. I wish it was bigger because the bag was the same size as the GB Plus Bag and would be perfect to get a primer the same size as the hand cream. I did use it and found it pretty tacky not going to lie and had to wet my sponge to blend my foundation. I found it did keep my makeup on but didn’t feel anything else special with this one. Not my favorite item to try but it did help in keeping my makeup on.
The Beauty Crop Fine apple Powder Brush: Next up is a powder brush by Beauty Crop! I’m glad to get a powder brush from these guys since there are times I need a quick powder brush in front of me without leaving my vanity. It’s really nice and soft and decently sized for what they’ve sent me. Nice change from all the eye brushes I’ve received.
Petal to the Metal in Shift to Overdrive, Turbo: Next is my choice item in this bag and that’s The Balm’s Petal to the Metal shadow in Shift to Overdrive, Turbo. It’s a cream shadow in a rose gold with silver sparkle and you know I love rose gold and when I saw this as a choice I snatched it! When I got it it looked different from what I imagined. When I think cream shadow I think to a small screw topped container but nope! This came in the signature Balm sampler packaging as in those tiny books! It’s decently size but I feel it is a bit dry. I wished they put it in a container because cream products even shadows do dry up. I’m sorry if I sound negative but that’s my only issue with this. I will try and use it as usual.
Merci Handy Hand Cream in Hello Sunshine: Final item is a new brand I never heard of called Merci Handy and glad to try these guys and it’s a hand cream which is a bonus. My hands do get dry even due to the hand soap at work so this will be great to use. This hand cream has almond oil and it contains little emollient beads to help with the extra moisture which I can’t wait to try this out. Apparently it also has a citrus smell. I will have to see how it goes!

I found this bag kind of okay because of the primer being okay and the Balm cream shadow being in a different packaging than I hoped. I hope I can use it on my eyes at some point in time. I wasn’t totally disappointed because I did get two add-ons which happened to be the Violet Voss Berry Burst pallet which is the Fun Size ones which made me happy. And of course I got another Pharmacy Green Clean because I loved it and hasn’t broken me out either. Helps with the makeup cleaning a lot! I did enjoy the lipstick though and excited about the hand cream and brush. I think the items in GB Plus had a bit more oomph and hoping March to be better since next month they’re celebrating their hundredth bag which can’t wait to see what’s in store for that one! What’s next for Nerdy Shique Universe? Another RangerStop Panel! Stay tuned for that. Also announcement! I will be reviewing Traverser’s new album on Nerdy Shique Transmissions instead because I feel better if I do that live rather than just writing about it so stay tuned for that! So keep an eye out on all major platforms where you get podcasts! Until then guys, stay beautiful while traveling the vast universe!

Collective Haul: Target, Walgreens, and Cosplay

Hello everyone and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! It feels good to say that and also glad to move the blog to somewhere else! I thought Word Press would be better since it would be easier to read the posts I put up and the psting form is easier to work with than what Blogger has been doing. So, let’s see! Since I’ve been busy with classes, it was hard getting around to posting a haul post since I have been getting new products and a few of them are cosplay, so why not do a collective based on the cosplay items and make up I did get! Let’s go!

First is Target! I love going to Target because not only the staff is friendly and helpful, but they tend to have more products and lower prices since it feels like WalMart is rising their prices a little and of course they don’t tend to carry everything. Target doesn’t carry most of the stuff that WalMart does and same with Walgreens but I still like going there since I can find a lot of stuff. Some of the stuff I did got in the past couple of weeks include more of the Herbal Essences Honey I’m Strong shampoo and conditioner! I had to get more because while I carried my last two bottles, I didn’t know I had the shampoo bottle open in the bag I carried all my wet stuff in and it leaked and had less shampoo and ran out before the conditioner, so I got more and this time it is a bigger bottle which I do love! I love the scent of honey and hebs and it smells so good! It is like It’s Raining Men with herbs! I did get something that’s new for my makeup regiment and that is the Almay Clear Complexion Concealer Plus Treatment stick! I know I was using Maybelline’s Dark Spot Correcting Concealer but people I know thought it was too dark and it gets mixed as foundation and I tend to put too much and I do admit it gets a little greasy and it is hard to tell when I run out since it is a cream type thing. It also made my face itcy a little and didn’t clear the dark spots and blemishes I had as fast as this! I did some research on Almay’s site to see if they had something similar and this was it! It is better and different because it comes with a gel that you put on first on the spots that need it and then you put the concealer on the other end on top of the gel and blend a little. Then I put my actual concealer from the same line but compact form on top and blend even more, it helps this way since even though the concealer end looks like a powder but it warms to your skin when you put it on. Knowing me, this will be on my faves post next! Then I got three new lip products as well! Two of them are Cover Girl and the other Maybelline! First Cover Girl, I haven’t gotten anything lately from them and I heard good things about the TMega Twist Balm Tint, something like that, but I heard good things about these through favorite videos and wanted to try them out. At first I wanted to get Berry Twist but they sold out! Apparently these are popular especially Berry Twist. I know I should’ve gone to the Cover Girl section during my Walgreens run but didn’t! There is always next time, I did get the Plum Twist though since I wear plum colors time to time and well the disappointing thing is that these aren’t flavored or smell like their fruit colors, I wish they did! But I do like the idea of it being a balm tint! One thing I did get that I wanted for a long time and that is the Strawberry Splash gloss from their Fruit Spritzer line! I love strawberries and was happy that they have a strawberry gloss in this line and do like their Chocolate Mint one they made but the flavor of that one is way too strong to me, I do use it with my Double Choc lip tint from Lush, but the Strawberry one smells like if you are eating candy and it feels great! Another thing from Target I did get was the LipSmackers SPF 24 party pack! I am still trying to find the one for Paul Frank and can’t find it anywhere! If anyone has seen this thing, please comment below! I am open to comments! Anyways, this pack started coming out in time for summer since we tend to get suntan lotions and people are always saying use sunscreen and these balms have sunscreen which is good. You tend to get this on the site but now they are coming to Targets now and it is great timing! These do have the sunscreen smell but it is light in some and others a little heavy, but the smells that do come in this do stick out like the watermelon as an example, I believe there is one with strawberry kiwi and so many others! I may have to start using these since Florida is known for heat! Forgot to mention the Maybelline lip product! I finally got my paws on the Color Whispers lipsticks, well one, which is known as Pink Possibilities! Kind of like Purple Possibilities from their old cream eye shadow line but this is pink this time around. I heard so many good things about these things, especially with 11th Gorgeous who had a LipStick Haul they made. I had to get one after watching the commercials since they are lightweight and not so sticky, even when I tried it on and see how it was and boy does it feel light! I actually like this better than the Color Sensational lipstick in Sugared Honey since that one is heavy but Pink Possibilities is more lightweight. And the last thing I got was a new concealer brush because I was using the little pad that came with the Almay compact but there was a hole and decided to go with a brush. At first I wanted to go to ELF cosmetics because I heard so many good things about their concealer brushes since I already had the eye shadow one for times when I do a monolid look and do the lid colors with the quad compacts, but the lady pointed me to their brush section and a salon worker pointed this double ended one that was around $7 and it is doubled ended, one for the face that looks like a bbq sauce brush but it works pretty well and very soft! The other end is great for the eye area, which I do put the powder around it and it helps to get the tiny areas of my face and I did have a scab from when my fiance scrubbed some of the 24 Hour Tattoo shadow I was wearing one day and boy it hurt and had to hide it, don’tt worry it healed due to my skin treatment and the concealer stick I’ve been using. So, that is for Target!

Walgreens: I haven’t been to Walgreens in a long time and needed a ffew things and as said didn’t stop by Cover Girl which I should’ve but did need some other things. First, had to get more witch hazel which is really great! I love using this and helps getting the blemis spots that are left over from anything that is on my face and it may be a little drying, but I do have my container of Celestial. Then I got more round cotton pads to help use the witch hazel a lot easier. I use cotton balls with the rubbing alcohol and then the witch hazel with the pads since it would help attack the marks easier. Then got more baby wipes for my make up cleaning and I got something really nice and it the ones with the scent of green tea and cucumber! I tend to get my deodorant in this scent but this would be a nice little change and it is my fave scent. I did run by the Wet N Wild section for curiosity to see what is new, didn’t find much but they did do a Buy something for $1. 99 and theng et one half off, I got two nail polishes and they are in Wet Cement, a dark gray, and On a Trip, which is a purple that I never thought of getting until now. I should’ve gotten more items but thought these would be good enough for now, but WNW is still cheap no matter what Walgreens you go to!

Cosplay, I have been working on two cosplays lately for the summer convention season, one original the other not! First my Pokemon character, Rusty!

Rusty, my Pokemon Character: This character was another one I wanted to do and his backstory from my pokemon fics are that he used to be on Team Aqua but he betrayed them and got hurt and ended up being transported by his Starmie to the Sinnoh region and was dropped off and never saw his Starmie for a while. A Raichu finds him and becomes his Pokemon. He does lose his memories about Aqua and gets them back, I am going to plan on doing one based on “What if” and probably show what if he was on Magma and may change characters and do the sequel but a newer syndicate way. Anyways, so I am doing his Pokemon Ranger outfit but my own twist. I asked for descriptions about the costumes they wear, they sounded vvery bulky and complicated in how the creator made them and I don’t know why, after doing Ike, one of my other characters, I felt as though my design in costumes for Pokemon are easier since I can get the parts at Good Will or Plato’s Closet, even Ebay! So, here goes. I decided to do a red and black version and got the goggles off of Ebay along with the wig, which is a dark ash blond; I had a hard time finding the right length and a straight one and didn’t want to spend so much but I found one with Cosplay DNA and it was perfect and my parents didn’t recognize me! I am going to use my old Ginji gloves since they do wear gloves and despite the metal plates, it would give off a nice look and will use my black shorts with it and flip flops. A friend of mine is making the scarf, she did teach me how to knit a little but the yarn kept fraying and she decided to finish it, she is also making the ranger pin, and Raichu, which I helped her during a JoAnn’s run with getting supplies. I did get the bandana and a red shirt from Michael’s arts and crafts! And finding the bandanas and shirts were easy! I wanted to get a bandana with red nautical stars but they didn’t have one so went with a plain black one. I went to a Slavation Army for the black vest and it was perfect! So, all I have to do is wait for the rest of the stuff to be made.

Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail: I did mention in my Fairy Tail review back on Blogger that I was going to be cosplaying as her for Metro and MythiCon this year since Cheramie is at MythiCon and we are doing Fairy Tail for the Blind Experience. My update is that I did get the skirt at Plato’s Closet. I remembered getting the skirt for my Anri costume from there and it was the only place that had clothes that fit, well the one closer to downtown, and I did find one that fit me in XL! I am so glad that it fits and I should go to that one more often for any skirts that would fit me. Then the boots! I had such a hard time with these because everyone on Ebay sold any boots in Medium and I am a Wide! I almost went with Hot Topic but was afraid they would be Medium and don’t want to go through another fitting fiasco with them. I did find the only Wide pair but in 12 and it did cost me a little over $50 due to shipping but it was worth it and they fit perfectly despite the size! They are also heels and boy my feet will be hurting since I am doing press for Metro, I will invest in the Dr. Scholl’s for her in-steps before then. All I need is the wig and the top that my friend is making for me since the creator of Fairy Tail is pretty elaborate.

Well, that is it for this edition of the haul! If anyone has seen the Paul Frank party pack from LipSmackers, please comment below! Next up is my faves of March and April! So, stay tuned!
