Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm February 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post!

BoxyCharm February 2021

I bet you’re wondering, “Mari! Where’s the No Make No Life Box?” It is taking a long time to get here so hang tight on that, it did enter Florida finally but I will be announcing something with that, I even announced it on Twitter. I am going to move onto Boxy Charm though since that arrived first! This box is the base box where you get five full-size items ranging from prestige to luxury and it can be skin care and makeup and sometimes tools. This is a $25 a month box. You also get to choose an item every month. My box this month was a heavy one when it arrived and will be talking about that.

Ace Beauty Nostalgia Pallet: First up is my choice item and glad to get this since it was something from a brand I am starting to like and that’s ace beauty. I have enjoyed their bronzing pallet so far and enjoyed the Desert Dawn pallet as well. This one is a pallet known as the Nostalgia pallet. This pallet includes fifteen shades that inspire you to be creative and nostalgic of the fun times. It claims that each shade has been milled to give off great color pay off and after using Desert Dawn it was very pigmented and this pallet will be put to the test. I must see if Ace did provide shade descriptions on their website. This pallet retails for $38.

Livedo Age Away Hydrating Cream: Next up is something in skin care and glad that it is a moisturizer but from a brand I never heard of. This is a moisturizing cream that is supposed to help with fine lines and wrinkles and improves texture. It gives moisture with plant actives which include sea buckthorn and evening primrose oil. I hope that it would help with skin elasticity and I do love moisturizers. I hope it does not break me out with my sensitive skin though so I will have to see how this goes. This retails for $55.

Wonder Beauty Double Date Lip & Cheek: Next up is a product from Wonder Beauty and it is a double duty item and it is for both lips and cheeks. It’s a sheer tint and a universal balm  which can blend seamlessly on cheeks and helps heal lips. I must see how this goes as well since I do love using products that help the lips and not sure if I want to use it on my cheeks since my finger would touch the lips. This does retail for $22 though!

Hanskin Hyaluron Skin Essence: This is a skin product who developed the first K-Beauty BB Cream. This essence helps someone be able to achieve the glass skin look with sodium allurate. This was the heaviest product in my box so that it was so heavy when I was handed the box. It is a pretty big bottle and I know I will be using this for forever! This retails for $46.

Saint Luxe Beauty Limited Edition Liner Duo: Final item is a lip liner duo from Saint Luxe. I never heard of this brand either but claims to be moisturizing and long-lasting on the lips. Glad to get these too since I do not have that many lip liners anywhere in my collection so it’s good to have a lip liner duo on hand! This retails for $40 and man that is a bit pricey for two pencils.

Well, that is it for this box and I like it! It feels different from any of my other boxes and I did get a big bottle of essence. It is just in time for running out of the other bottle of essence I’ve received in No Make No life a few months back since that’s a smaller bottle. I will enjoy the shadow pallet and see how that goes. Glad to get more lip liners since that is a must even with liquid lipsticks. What is next in the box line up? If I do not get the NMNL box then it will be my first Glam Bag X! So, stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm January 2021

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! My first subscription of the month arrived!

BoxyCharm January 2021

So, new year and first box of that new year and this is BoxyCharm. This year I am giving this box a few more months after seeing leftovers from Ipsy with a few items and debating on cancelling. I saw my card and it’s not too bad, I would say it’s better. This box is the base box which will cost $25 a month and you tend to get more luxury and higher end brands. Let’s see what I got shall we?

Ciate London Velvet Shadow Pallet: First up is a product by Ciate London and not too mad about this. I have been into this brand all thanks to trying out lip products by them in Ipsy and then started getting a few things in this box from them. This pallet has a mix of metallics and mattes to create many looks. The formula of this pallet is a velvety feel that it gives a soft feel. I have to try this shadow pallet since it’s my first pallet from these guys. I have tried some of their face and lip products so it’s now time for eyes! This retails for $30.

Farmacy Daily Greens Oil Moisturizer: Next up is a product from Farmacy and it’s their Greens Oil Moisturizer. I have enjoyed their make up remover and glad to get this since it gives me a chance to try more things by these guys. This is an oil and silicon free daily moisturizer that brings lasting moisture to the skin. This contains Fida nutrients hyaluronic acid. That catches my ears since I have been enjoying skin care with hyaluronic acid. Even though I have so many moisturizers at the moment but don’t mind getting another for the day. Let’s see how this one goes! This retails for $38.

Ace Beaute Bronzed in Paradise Pallet: Next up is from Ace Beaute and it’s the item I chose. I remembered this was in a past box but I didn’t get it so I wanted to try out something from them that is face related and glad to choose this since I do tend to use bronzer to contour around my cheeks. This is a part of their Paradise Collection that came out last year and I guess they had some leftover pallets and couldn’t sell them in their shop so they gave it out as a choice item and glad I did select this one. This features four bronzers in this pallet and they help in giving a Sunkissed look. I will have to see how well these work on my skin. This retails for $30.

Dr. Brandt Do Not Age Eye Cream: Next is a product from Dr. Brandt and glad to get this since the price is so high that I gasped. This is a peptide enriched eye cream that helps with signs of aging around the eyes for refreshed younger looking eyes. I do use eye creams as a base for my concealer and it does help with any under eye circles I may have since I do wake up early for work and hoping this does keep my concealer on too. This retails for $85, yes, I know! That’s expensive!

Bali Balm Sweet Orange & Coconut Lip Balm: Final item is from Bali Balm which is a brand I never heard of. I have noticed that boxyCharm has been giving out lip balms which is very important in my routine when putting on lip products since my lips do dry underneath what I wear. This lip balm includes sweet orange and coconut oils to help moisturize the lips and I have just put it on and it feels very conditioning. I have to keep on using this since I have tried so many lip balms from my boxes and they have worked out very well. This retails for $33.

Well guys this box was a lot better than last month’s box! I feel like this had better items and a better start to 2021. I did choose another Ace Beaute item for next month but glad to try out a bronzing pallet and it will take a bit to get to the eye cream and moisturizer since this would help with concealer and my face with my moisturizer. Now hoping next month’s bag will not cause the unsubscribing. Let’s see how long it will take for the other subscriptions!

Review Round Up: November & December 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with another post and on the first day of the new year!

Review Round Up: November & December 2020

I would like to say first is that I am really sorry for not doing a Review Round Up for September and October. Things were really busy with school and of course the move was going on so didn’t really have much time to do one so I am making up for lost time.

November: The order did get switched alongside with December since my No Make No Life didn’t arrive until close to Thanksgiving. I did manage to get all of my boxes in even my Ipsy ended up at my old address due to it not being updated yet. I didn’t use any of the eye products due to recovering from my sty and blepharitis and didn’t want my eyes to get any more irritated and did not help with the dust flying either while packing and unpacking. I hadn’t used any of my November BoxyCharm items due to packing them in one of the many boxes but when I do find it, I will definitely start using them. I did use the sheet masks, the lip color, and lip mask from my Glam Bag Plus though. The Honey Jaret masks did feel good. I felt that the one I used to give me pretty good moisture for my skin and felt pretty light too while wearing it. The lip mask was pretty moisturizing as well and the lip color from Complex Culture was not too bad. It was interesting packaging though since most lip products I get are in square shaped tuibes while this is more of a flattened rectangle. Also, I didn’t k now that the post did not publish. I’m really sorry about that as well. I’ve been using the Commodity perfume time to time and man it smells so good! I did finish the Banana Souffle moisturizer by Glow Recipe and it did feel really good on my skin. It was not too heavy on the skin and the sample size was really good as well. I don’t think I will pay the price though since Glow Recipe is pretty pricey. I may have to wait and see if it will be on the Ipsy Offers or on the BoxyCharm shop. With No Make No Life, I did try out the mask with the Eucalyptus Cream and it felt pretty good. I did use the multi-tasking stick which was pretty greasy after trying it out. The Miloko mascara felt good on my lashes though and made them curl up like the claims said. I will keep on using this mascara. The Dolly Wink eye pencil did feel good on my eyes. I hardly felt it bothering my eyes since I was till recovering from my eye infections. I don’t know how I feel about the brow pencil from Etude though. I wished I got a chocolate brown instead since that’s my shade in the NYX Brow Pomade that I have enjoyed for a few years. I will have to keep on using it.

December: The only thing about December’s boxes was that I felt that I got Ipsy leftovers in my BoxyCharm. How so? Well, I got the Mac Matte lipstick in Russian Red which I did buy from Ipsy a while back. I also got the Tarte Man Eater Mascara which was really good since it did bring a curl to my lashes and the Ofra Banana Powder, I believe that was a sample size some people have gotten in the past but not hating it since I have been using it to set my under-eye concealer. The only things that didn’t feel like leftovers were the Artist Coutur pallet which people did love the look with and the Eloise Liquid Shadow which I used as an eye base. It worked well as an eye base and didn’t budge at all. I am not sure if I will keep BoxyCharm since this box seemed a bit meh, I will give it a few more months. My Glam Bag and Glam Bag Plus were really good though. The Feel Cleanser was really nice! It didn’t feel too harsh on my skin on nights that I was using a sheet mask and it did help with the mask absorption. I hope to get more stuff from this brand. I am not sure what had happened to the powder I got though, it may have fallen out of my Caboodle, I will search for it and find it as usual. The brush did get mixed into my brush pouch since I am using the makeup bag, I got from the Kuromie and My Melody collection. I haven’t touched the Laura MakeUp lip gloss either but I have been using the Use Me Hair Curling Cream. I have to say is that it has helped my hair and I am going to purchase a full size of this since it is so good! The only thing I used from my GB Plus happened to be the Ofra lip gloss. I find it just okay; I think the lip gloss was not sticky but just okay. I may use it over other lip products down the line. As said before, I am using another exfoliating scrub, which the Feel one was just a trial size to try it out and then go back to my Hempz one. I haven’t used the QMS cream yet nor the Complex Culture powder either. The Alter Ego shadow from Il Maki age, I am going to use it at some point too. When it comes to the No Make No Life box, so far, I used the hair mask, which was weird. I feel like it did not do much for my hair. It would make sense if it was in a pot since to me with a hair mask you need to use it more than once for effects to take place rather than a one item type thing. I did like the MediHeal sheet mask and it did moisturize my face very well. It did fit my face pretty well too. I also have been using the hand cream since my hands do get dry due to the use of hand sanitizer and soap every day. I like the scent since it’s not too heavy and the cream is very creamy and smooth. And I also have been using the UR Glam lip oil too since I do love using glosses that are an oil and gloss hybrid. I haven’t used the hair clips much because they’re a bit too big for my liking but do they do hold my hair pretty well. The eye shadow pallet will be used at some point. Verdict: Ipsy! Reason being is that for these two months, I have  been enjoying what I’ve gotten in my Glam Bag. Even though the BoxyCharm for November had a good balance, I packed it before moving and didn’t get to use anything. I feel that Ipsy is beating BoxyCharm out of the water and No Make No Life is a close second due to how I was able to use some of the things except the hair mask was kind of weird. Hoping BoxyCharm steps it up for January!

Well guys that is it for this Review Round Up! So, now it’s a new year and hoping that these boxes keeping going well. Like I said I am thinking of cancelling BoxyCharm because they aren’t going so well for me, I am willing to give them a few more months before letting them go since I have gotten some good products except I felt that I got leftovers for December. In February, Ipsy is going to start Glam Bag X which is like Boxy Lux where instead of getting the regular Glam Bag you get more of a luxury based bag with seven to eight full-size items which I’m excited about. I almost thought about doing either Boxy Lux or Premium except I feel that the items aren’t my cup of tea and I feel happier with the regular base box. No Make No Life, on the other hand, I was mad that they falsely advertised the DHL thing during December because they used a different service from them and I didn’t get my box until this past Monday. Some four to five day shipping. I will keep them for a few more months too. So, next up is my Third Quarter Favorites so stay tuned for that!

Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm December 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post!

BoxyCharm December 2020

So, my BoxyCharm arrived on Monday and glad I got it since all the holiday deliveries are at a big high. I am still waiting on No Make No Life since it’s still on transit mode. Will do the post once I get it. Now to this! This is the base box for $25 and you get prestige and luxury brands that you sometimes find online and on Sephora. They even some indie brands as well. Let’s see what I got this month!

Artist Coutor Caliente Shadow Pallet: First up is an item from Artist Couture. I remembered getting a loose highlighter from this brand but didn’t work out for me since it looked like I had that white sunscreen look according to someone that found it weird. I did toss it afterwards. This pallet is an eight-shade pallet that features five mattes, two metallics and one multi-dimensional shade. These shades are picked and curated to make versatile looks. I will have to try this pallet out then since I do enjoy warm toned shades. This pallet retails for $30.

Ofra Cosmetics Pressed Banana Powder: Next is the item I chose for this month and that is the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder. It’s been a while since I got a banana powder and when I saw this, I decided on it. I think I preferred it over the other choices. This is a versatile powder with a light banana scent. You can use it to conceal dark circles and set concealer and foundation. I will be using this to set my under-eye concealer and I remembered I did that with a sample of a banana powder I got in Ipsy. This retails for $35.

Tarte Man Eater Mascara: Next up is another mascara and this time it’s from Tarte. Is it me or is this starting to feel like Ipsy since they are known more for getting Tarte items? Except when I got back to Boxy, I did get a Tarte Rainforest of the Sea pallet. Anyways, this has the claims of curling, volumizing and lengthening the lashes. It also has a very plush wand and lightweight black formula. I will have to see with this one since I did enjoy the Surfer Curl one. Let’s see how it goes! This retails for $23.

Mac Matte Lipstick: Okay, I am getting Ipsy vibes with this since they also get Mac Cosmetics. I’m happy to see them here too but I feel like this would be a GB Plus item or GB X since that’s starting. I did hear that Boxy and Ipsy did merge. Anyways, this is the iconic lipstick that Mac has released for many years and it’s known for high impact color, which I’m not going to lie, it is amazing in color. I had to re-purchase my tube of Dubonnet because it broke so be careful with some of these. I received mine in Russian Red, which I purchased one tube from Ipsy since they were doing a discount on Mac lipsticks at the time. It’s good to have a back up just in case. This retails for $19.

Eloise Beauty Metallic Liquid Shadow: Final item is a liquid shadow from Eloise. I never tried this brand before and glad to do it here. I thought it was a lip gloss due to the scent but glad to get this. So, I got a double shadow bit this box. This is supposed to be a long wearing formula and it has a metallic and glittery mix. I got the shade Pure Gold which is of course gold. I don’t mind since I do enjoy gold shadows. I will try this out and see how it goes. This retails for $26.

Okay, to be perfectly honest, I feel this month’s box felt more like an Ipsy to me but more full-size with a hint of luxury. Even though BoxyCharm has given out Ofra and Artist Couture but with the Tarte and Mac items, it felt like they were getting out of the Ipsy leftovers. I don’t know guys; I feel that with the merger they may be another ipsy. Will I unsubscribe? I am not sure at this moment, I will have to give it a few more months.

With that being said, stay tuned for No Make No Life when it arrives. In the meantime, I will be doing a post as an inspiration from 90s Love Child. Stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm September 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with another subscription post!

BoxyCharm September 2020

BoxyCharm arrived this morning and was glad it did. I find it awesome that it is starting to come faster due to FedEx and glad I found my box intact since something didn’t cause them to inspect it either. This box is $25 a month you get products ranging from prestige to luxury and this month I feel that it was focusing more on the eyes. I remembered one of my boxes years ago was like this at the same time as Ipsy and glad that they are doing it again this time. Let’s see what I got!

Farmacy Cheer Up Vitamin C Eye Brightening Cream: First is my choice product and it’s from Farmacy. I’ve gotten their cleansing balm in the past and when I saw this, I decided why not try it out. This is made with cherries and it helps with hydrating and bringing radiance to the eye area. It also helps with reducing fine lines and wrinkles. I know I don’t have them, but I do tend to get under eye circles due to waking up so early during the week and this helps before concealer since I use it as an under eye primer. I can’t wait to use this since I do have a few I am already using and been waiting to be used. This item retails for $45.

Blinc Glamor Pallet: Next is something from Blinc Cosmetics! I remembered getting their tubing mascara years ago and glad to try these guys again but with an eye shadow pallet. This pallet ha six shadows and two blushes to have an evening glamor look. I can’t wait to try this out since it will be my first time trying something new by these guys so stay tuned for any updates on this pallet. This retails for $26.

Huda Beauty Matte and Metal Shadow Duo: This was something I hoped to get in this box and that is the Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Liquid Duo. I saw someone get a different variation of the box with this item and glad to get it since I love Huda Beauty. Basically, this is a dual ended shadow that features a matte liquid shadow on one side and a sparkling metallic on the other end and can’t wait to try this out. Not sure on what shades I got but it will be a nice surprise. This retails for $25!

Laura Geller Bold Mascara: Next is another mascara but this time it’s from Laura Geller. I’ve been enjoying this brand so far and glad to see a mascara from them appear in this box. I did hear you could have gotten the liner from Huda Beauty that has a pencil on one side and felt tip on the other but I don’t mind this at all since I have been tired of black eyeliners. This is supposed to give you a stretch to your lashes in order to give a softer feel while lengthening them. I have to see how this goes with my lashes since I do use the Tarte Stage One Primer on them. This retails for $24.

Luna Magic Blend It Girl Four Piece Brush Set: Final item was something I hoped to get as well, and it was this four brush set from Luna Magic. This set includes the essential brushes you need to complete an eye look and I am glad they did. I would so use these when I do my eye makeup. This retails for $18.

That ends this post! I think this was the best box they came out for this year! I wished most of the boxes were like this as in focusing on a target area of the face. I can’t wait to try out the products in this box, especially the brush set since that will come in handy every time I put on my makeup. This Tuesday is my choice day and will have to see what BoxyCharm has in store for that. Next post will be an empties and Project Pan update! Stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: Box Review Round Up July & August 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with my reviews!

Box Review Round Up July & August 2020

Another double month have passed and it’s time to review my boxes and see what I think!

No Make No Life: First is my first No Make No Life! This is a beauty subscription which has products from Japan and Korea and glad I got to check this out! Even though I saw videos on this box and not many people like it, but I do. I get around eight to nine items and glad to try what I got this month. I did finish the lip gloss and Chupa Chups hand cream. The sheet mask was even good! I haven’t used the shadow yet since I put it in my new Caboodle, I purchased with my birthday coupon. I do have an issue with the heart sponges though. I am always worried that I would rip them apart because of the middle always having a gap but it does blend my foundation pretty well since it’s a dewy formula. I will keep using them though and may travel with them. Will keep on going with this box since I loved it and will cancel if not worth it or bored with it.

BoxyCharm: Okay, July BoxyCharm felt like I didn’t enjoy some of the items. The Hank & Henry lipstick was very drying on my lips due to how rough it was in application. I know the covering on the lipstick was supposed to dissolve but I’m wondering if this caused my chemical burn on my lips or not due to how harsh it felt. I tossed it since it was not that great. I didn’t get to try my Clean Skin Club serum because I didn’t know what had happened to it. I swore I put it in a tote where I had some items waiting to be used but it wasn’t there. Even my fiancé had to help and no dice. We are moving when our lease is up so I might be able to find it while packing. I am still using my Billion Dollar Brows Kit, so I haven’t touched the Hourglass pencil. While the Festival 2.0, I have a nice story to tell and glad my best friend Rayne gave me a video idea. So, I got the original in one box last year and was able to get the original Festival pallet and Ulta had the shade descriptions for that on not for this one and same with the Pur website so I contacted them. I got a response after asking for the shade descriptions and got an answer I never thought I would get and that is take a picture of the back of the box. I told them that other brands have helped me out and didn’t get a 5reply for a little while. I did try posting on What’s Up In Makeups until one of the moderators sent me a message and said they’re willing to help, and she did. Then I got the response from Pur with the shade descriptions. Rayne said I should do a video on responses I’ve gotten responses in getting help on their products which would be a great idea to do! Just stay tuned for that!

August was better though because I was able to use products without having any reaction. The Butter London pallet was good but6 I feel like a slight tug on my eye using some of the shadows, but it did give me a great effect with the top row. I will definitely keep using the Teddy Boy pallet and I may get the Teddy Girl one since that has a mix of warm and cool tones. I did put away the Glam Glow moist6urizer and the Elizabeth Mott primer since I already have enough of both. I also appreciate the bronzer since it is so good so far. The only issue I have with this box and that is the Milk Makeup brow gel. Apparently, they sent me a lighter brown from my dark brown brows. I don’t get why they have a profile that allows you to customize your box with the items they put in they don’t match it. I remembered how the CoverFX pallet had wrong ones placed into boxes when they were supposed to be Light to Medium not Medium to Dark and gave charms to people and replaced the pallets, here that didn’t happen because I contacted BoxyCharm about it and they didn’t give me extra charms like before. I am having it sent by someone on Facebook who got my shade. I did suggest to BoxyCharm that they should put variant items in Choice rather than having it done for us because we tend to get the wrong items. It would help us get what we want and in the correct shade instead of the wrong one. Hoping this does get taken to heart once it is given to the team.

Ipsy Glam Bag: July was good except for the Ciate London Lip Oil. I think it caused my chemical burn. I felt that my lips felt dry after putting this on and didn’t know it was going to cause the effects I had. I tossed it and can’t use it. The other items were really good though. The Hempz lotion felt good on my legs after shaving like the claims said. I didn’t use it after my last shave but should next time. I have been using the Luxie brush interchangeably with my other eye brushes. The blush did have room for my blush brush but wishing the Balm gave it a compact feel. And of course, the shadow from Space Case is still a love!

August, on the other hand, was amazing! I finished the Bubble Tea lotion and it smells just like peach tea and I do love me some peach tea whenever I can get my paws on it! The other makeup products were amazing too. The lip balm from Hey Honey didn’t burn since it was also watermelon like the Ciate oil. I wished it was more of a stick not a tube but hey it did feel good!

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus: Finally, is Glam Bag Plus! I feel like with these two months it’s been really good even though they changed the format this month. July’s bag had products for every part of the face. I was able to use the Toula Moisturizer and I find it really thick when I put it on. It did smell like sunscreen due to the SPF in it. I am almost out of it since I’ve been using it. I find it funny that I already have been using the Midflower Hyaluronic masks since I have been purchasing them from Ipsy. I even bought more with the Ipsy Offers that appeared not too long ago, one set came with these and rose ones while the other had charcoal so will have to see how they go. The rose ones do feel good! The Il Makiage shadow is pretty good, and the Surfer Curl also was pretty good while the eyeliner, it is in my professional makeup kit.

August was where the changes came and it’s where we get to choose three items in the bag. It was interesting but wishing it was in Ultimate instead. I am looking forward to what will be in nex6t month’s round of choices. I chose for this month the Love Craft Beauty Highlighter pallet in Aurora and Borealis, Murad Renewing Eye Cream, and the Laura Gellar Kajal Eyeliner in bronze. While Ipsy chose the Huda Beauty Demi Matte Liquid Lipstick in Lady Boss and the Beauty For Real Shadow Sticks. This was a great balance for what I got. I did try the eyeliner and one of the shadow sticks and they are better with a primer, the shadow sticks I mean. The liner did go on very well too. I did find the highlighting duo easy to blend on my cheek bones. I haven’t used the eye cream due to having so many at the moment. And the Huda Beauty lipstick was pretty good. It did feel smooth on the lips and was able to dry down after my lip primer goes on top. I can’t wait for what September brings.

Verdict: I would have to give it to No Make No Life, and Glam Bag Plus! I know I only started with one month with No Make No Life but getting to try more Asian beauty brands. While GB Plus had more variety and it is going through a change. I do have to say at least the bags are bigger now since we used to get smaller bags that were smaller than the Glam Bag. Let’s see what I will get in September!

That is, it for this post guys! Next up is a new Mimi Jean Pamfiloff review! Stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm August 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with my last subscription box of August!

BoxyCharm August 2020

Finally, my BoxyCharm arrived today and was wondering when it will arrive. Sometimes this box does get to me late and I can see why since FedEx does take a while. This box is $25 a month and you get full size prestige to luxury brands! Let’s see what I got!

Glam Glow Moisturizer: First up is a moisturizer from Glam Glow and it was not originally my choice. Last month they were not only having this for choice but also the Too Faced Born This Way concealer and I could choose my shade except they were out of my shade. I usually do the going lighter than my foundation like everyone else says and tried but nope! I had to choose this instead when I already have so many moisturizers. At least I get to try more Glam Glow! This moisturizer contains cannabis oil which helps calms redness and irritation which can be a good thing since sometimes my skin can get a little irritated with some face products. It also helps bring relief from skin stress. I will have to try this out and see how it goes! I am not knocking it! This retails for $54!

Butter London Teddy Boy Eye Shadow Pallet: I was hoping to get this in my box since I felt a little sad for not getting a shadow pallet last month. This pallet is a nine-pan pallet that is cool toned with mattes and shimmers. Finally, a cool toned neutral pallet since it feels like so many brands have been doing nothing but warm toned and wait until fall to do cool toned. Come on guys, not everyone does the seasons when it comes to eye looks. I will have to see how this pallet performs since I did love the other pallet, I got from them before in this box and that was a six-shadow pallet. This retails for $28.

Milk MakeUp Koosh Brow Gel: Next up is something from Milk MakeUp! I heard of this brand before all over YouTube and wondered about them. I know I am more of a drugstore girl but sometimes I do get curious about some of the more higher end brands and this is one of them. When I heard that they are in this month’s box with a brow product I figured that everyone would probably get this, but it looks like anyone who got the moisturizer did. This is a vegan formula and is made with cannabis oil to condition the hair and also has thick fibers too to shape and define the brows. It is also tinted too so depending on what you put as your hair color they would match the brow color with this product. I will have to see how well they matched my brow shade to this since last month’s brow pencil did have a bit of a red tint according to my fiancé but let’s see how it goes. This item retails for $20.

Aesthetica Sunset Bronzer: Next up is a bronzer from a brand called Aesthetica. When I heard that a bronzer was going to be in a few variations I was hoping to get it since I feel like I have a few in my collection and wanted to build it up a little. This is a coppery shade that gives off the right amount of glow without stepping on the beach. This also gives off the right kind of tone of giving a nice tan. I have to try this out and see how it goes. I am hoping it’s not too dark since my skin is more of a light to medium tone. I have tried really dark bronzers and they are not that flattering. So, let’s see what happens! This retails for $24.

Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Primer: Final item is something that is a bit of a blast from the past and that is the Thank Me Later Eye Primer from Elizabeth Mott! I remembered this appeared on Ipsy as a product in the Glam Bag for a long time and now seeing it here and have a full-size tube of it! This is a long wearing primer that dries down quickly and translucent to give shadows a perfect canvas and it does protect them from creasing. I hope this is true since some people do have issues with shadows creasing on whatever primer they use. I have to see how well this works with my shadows. This retails for $20.

That completes this post! I am happy with this month’s box because I felt that I got items that I would go for and be able to use on a regular basis. I am glad to try another eye shadow primer since I am now building a small collection and don’t have to buy another one for a while. Also, happy to get a bronzer this time since I wanted to try another one and hoping it’s not too dark for my skin. I am also glad to try more Butter London and Glam Glow and of course now finally trying out Milk MakeUp For the first time. I will definitely do a Review Round Up after my Favorites post which is next! Stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm July 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post!

BoxyCharm July 2020!

My BoxyCharm arrived and it arrived earlier like my Glam Bag Plus! I was surprised it also arrived on a Sunday again since FedEx delivered this while I was having brunch. I am not complaining since I’m happy to get this earlier even before my Choice Day on Tuesday. This box is $25 a month and you get five full size items from prestige and luxury brands. Let’s see what they sent me this month.
Skin Club Vitamin C Booster: First is my choice item for this month and it’s from Skin Club. It was a hard choice this month because there were two other serums, one was for lashes and the other was from Skin 111 but it was pollution protection so I decided on this one. This is the Vitamin C Booster Serum and it is supposed to help brighten the skin and fight against aging and also help protect against UV Rays. This is so important especially with how hot it gets here and everyone is social distancing at the beach now that getting that UV force on your skin can be harsh. I’m glad to get this and try this out. This retails for $49.95!
Hourglass Arch Brow Micro Sculpting Pencil: Next is something from Hourglass and it’s my first time trying them. I remembered one of their highlighters was on choice but didn’t choose them since my curiosity was not peaked into trying their formula out. I guess I don’t get too interested in luxury brands like most people but let’s see what this pencil is all about. This claims to create super defined brows with the super fine tip to make it look like you got micro bladed without the blade. I have to see how this goes since I do use brow products to keep my brows in place, especially towards the front where it can be bushy even when I maintain them but it’s good to get a brow pencil time to time. I thought it was an eyeliner but glad to get this instead. This retails for $28.
Pur Cosmetics Festival 2.0 Eye Pallet: I remembered getting the first one and glad to get the sequel! Like the last one, except that one had more mattes, this one has shimmer but more shimmer. This pallet has twelve shades like the last one from what I remembered and glad to get this one since I didn’t get a pallet last month. This retails for $36.
Hank & Henry Lip Love Lux Lipstick: Another item from Hank & Henry and this time it’s a lipstick. This lipstick is coated in a shimmery coating and it dissolves as you apply it. It is also stored in a ruby red container and it leaves a satin look or a moisturized sheen on your lips. This retails for $17.
Lavish Quick Dry Color Switch Cleaner: Final item is from Lavish and it’s their ever-so-famous Color Switch. When I saw this in my box I thought BoxyCharm Played a joke and sent me an empty tin but opened it and saw this and scanned the card to find out what it is. This is supposed to help you clean powder shadows off your brushes and it retails for $20.

That is it for this box! I’m actually happy about this one. I feel that they did this one better than the last since I mentioned how I felt that they threw my box together and sent it to me. I did tell them about how the Purlisse CC Cream was in my wrong shade and they apologized and gave me charms for it. They also explained that the shade chooser based on profile is still new to them with complexion products and to me that they should have gotten it down since they sent the foundation and concealer cards months ago. Glad that was resolved. Anyways, I will have to see how the pallet fairs since I did like the last one from last year and this one is the new one that they made. I have to see if they have a shade description for all the shades in this one and see how different it is. I am glad to get a new brow pencil to try out since I am using my Billion Dollar Brows Kit still and of course glad to try a new item from Hank & Henry and they have not gotten back to me about the Living Color pallet. I may have to find out some other way. And of course glad to try the color Switch since I do use a lot of powder shadows and will see how well it cleans off my brushes as I use them. I can’t wait to see what is up for choice this Tuesday and hoping its better because I felt with choice this time for July it was meh! I love skin care but I remembered there was more variety to choose from and I understand that they didn’t have much due to the pandemic but hoping its better this time. Also, I can’t wait to see what I get in my box in August!

That is it for this post! Glad that my box was better this month since the items were ones that I would use. Let’s see what August brings since it is my birthday month again. I am waiting for my Ipsy to arrive so it should be here this week. Until next time!

Subscription Satelite Round Up: May & June 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

Subscription Round Up: May & June 2020

Another two months passed for subscriptions and things have gotten more interesting for them! Let’s see what I thought of each one for each month!

BoxyCharm: May’s box saw items I would be using as backups except I only used the Appeal lipstick and the Studio Makeup pallet. The Appeal lipstick was really nice. It was not too drying since most lipsticks in liquid form are drying and too uncomfortable but this felt good on my lips. The eye shadow pallet I packed it on pretty well because I saw Jen Luv’s Reviews get this in her box and she had a hard time to get this pallet to show up since it had more subtle ways when it comes to the shadows. I did pack on hard since this did feel soft and did have it show up on my lids. It did have the smell of the Tarte pallets I’ve bought in the past since it had a vanilla smell. It’s not too bad but wished I got a different pallet. While the other items are back up items when I’m done with my First Aid Facial Radiance Pads, the Micellar Water I’ve been using, and any of the shadow bases I have backups of.
June’s box was an okay box because I felt they threw stuff together and sent it off. I did choose the Lily Lashes mascara and that was really good for what I have chosen and can see why their lash products are really good. The Purlisse CC Cream is too dark for me because I saw that they do have a Light Medium and wishing that they matched me with my actual shade not one that I would self-tan to. I haven’t used the CAB lip duo as of yet since I do have my Ipsy bag filled to the brim with lip products already but will use it in time. I’m glad for the Smashbox spray since I am doing a video on that brand down the road and that ticked off one items I needed and the Kiley Skin cleanser will be up next after I run out of my current cleanser.

Ipsy: Ipsy has been getting good products for their Glam Bags and it is sometimes hard to choose though. With the May Bag I only used four out of the five which happened to be the brush, the Nails Inc. Polish, the Hand of Will lotion, and the Tart Lip Jelly. I had to toss the Way of Will lotion because it was so hard to squeeze out of the bottle they sent me. I don’t know why they didn’t send me the tube rather than bottle or made an easier to squeeze bottle. The brush from SL Miss Glam is amazing as always and good for blending the lid shades on or after you put on shadows and blend them together. The nail polish stayed on very well. I thought my index finger on my right hand was going to chip first like always but all thanks to smoothing my nails out before I do anything it kept my polish on even while being in the hospital when they put on the vital clip on my finger. The Tarte Lip Jelly did go first due to how tiny the tube was. I wished Tarte put it in a pot so it would last a month and give us more to review about but it did feel good my lips and kept them moist.
The June Bag did have a good balance with my GB Plus because it did have more skin care while the GB Plus had more makeup to it. I was able to use the Dewy Tree cleanser and the Sur.Medic Soothing Cream up and pretty fast too since they were pretty small since they are samples. The Dewy Tree Cleanser I had to use it in the shower rather than the sink because my sink somehow doesn’t produce hot water like it used to but my shower does and it did a slight foaming effect but I prefer the action with my Tony Moley Cleanser. The Soothing Cream was used before my serum each night and it felt pretty well as in it did cool my skin before I put my serum on. Not sure if I will buy the full size I will see about that. I did use the First Aid Beauty primer sample which did keep my makeup on during the day. It tingled on my skin slightly but didn’t cause any adverse effects as I wore it which is a good thing. I have been enjoying the lip crayon from Sugar Cosmetics though! I haven’t really used the brush since I have so many of them in my brush pouch on my vanity. I will use it at some point! Good bags the past two months!

Glam Bag Plus: Finally is the Glam Bag Plus! These two months were also really good because May was all about makeup while June had some skin care items with some makeup mixed in. May had hard choices with the items on Choice Day but landed on the Nomad Cosmetics Sydney Bathers Pallet that features two bronzers and two highlighters and man this was really good! I did make a video but hoping it will be up soon since it needs to be edited. I almost chose the Colored Rain Vineyard Soiree pallet and the M. O. T. D. Brush Set which I still got in my box. I also enjoyed the Sugar Rush liquid lipstick and the Beauty For Real mascara. This was a really good box and the products were selected very well.
Like I mentioned with the original Glam Bag, this did balance with that one since I got another primer but it was from Dr. Brandt and it’s perfect for my dry skin since it deals with being luminous. I also got a blending sponge from Huda Beauty which I have added that to my brush pouch. I also chose the Laura Gela Central Park pallet since it sounded like I would go for and will use soon. I finally was happy to get an eyeliner that was a different shade since I remembered how Ipsy used to get liners in different colors and they should continue with that. And of course, I did get another Purlisse product which is their Cleansing Milk which I have to keep on using to see how much it works in removing my makeup.

Victor: Ipsy! Reason being is that they have been getting products that are really good and have been fitting my profile a lot better than BoxyCharm has been doing lately. I know what you’re thinking, “Why are you still subscribed to BoxyCharm?” There are some products I do enjoy and I do get luxury items in it without paying the luxury price and I can try them to see if I can find a dupe for them like how the ELEMIS Facial Pads have been duped for the First Aid Beauty ones so far. When I look at the items I got these past two months from Ipsy and the GB Plus I feel like they have done a good job with my profile and can’t wait to see what July brings. With Boxy, I say step it up with the profile attention because with the Purlisse CC Cream they didn’t match properly.

That is it for this post! I can’t wait to see what July holds for these boxes and hoping that July picks up with BoxyCharm! I will try to get my book review up next!

Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm June 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! It’s time for my first box subscription of the month!

BoxyCharm June 2020

Disclaimer: This post contains reviews and thoughts on the products of the writer. Please respect her thoughts on each item.

Well guys BoxyCharm arrived this morning. I bet you’re wondering how? Well, yesterday it was supposed to be delivered but around one in the afternoon there was a delivery exception in Sanford and they had to inspect my box at the FedEx facility it was at. Oh yeah, I even felt where it was slashed open by them which is on the right side of the box and saw one of my items opened too! What the heck? I know which one it was too and will get to that in a bit! This box was okay and I thought my card was last month’s card but I accidentally had it in the scanner, I sent Boxy an email before checking and had a major faux pas in my corner, whoops! At least I have the right card with the right items. Let’s see what I got!

Kiley Skin Foaming Face Wash: First up is from Kiley Jenner’s skin care line and it’s her Foaming Face Wash. This product is a luxurious face wash that is gentle for the skin and contains kiwi seed and Vitamin C to help with moisture and helps clean out dirt and makeup. I remembered there was a bit of controversy about this line that she had released where she made advertisements showing her using the items but not really using them. I’m sorry but that’s false advertising and even other brands and their commercial people did the same thing even the kid that played Eleven on Stranger Things apologized for doing the same thing with her products which I was happy she did that. To me as someone who has tried so many products and if I were to advertise for Kiley Skin I would do a video of me using this to clean my makeup at night since that is when I do that even I use these face washes in the shower to keep my face clean to give my skin care time to get in when I finish brushing my teeth. Anyways now to the formulation. I am worried about my sensitive skin reacting because I remembered Shane Dawson and Jeffree Starr did a video trying Kiley Skin products and Shane got reactions from it due to his sensitive skin and I concluded it’s not sensitive skin friendly but if this says it’s gentle then I would give it a chance. I may try this in between my Tony Moley tubes since I did purchase another tube of their Peach Juice Foaming Face Wash and will come back to let you know in a future review since my face washes last me a long time. This item retails for $24.
Purlisse Perfect Glow BB Cream SPF 30: First Purlisse product to get in this box and that is their BB Cream with SPF 30 and I got the shade Medium Tan. I am happy to get this since I am already a fan of Purlisse and that it’s meant for all skin types even my own but the shade is Medium Tan and afraid it’s too dark. Let’s see what the card says about this! This is a multi-tasking product that glides on like a tinted moisturizer and has the same age-defying benefits of sunscreen. I remembered in an interview that Jennifer Yen uses this item due to how she can’t wear foundation since the reason for starting this brand was due to the stage makeup back in the late 90s wrecked her skin and broke her out like crazy. I already put makeup on and not going to see how the shade matches but if BoxyCharm is going to look at profiles and surveys they need to really match people with their shade since they did start putting foundations in their box. I remembered matching with Cashmere from Becca and wondering why not this? I will see if there is a similar shade to mine if I want to purchase this in the future so will see what happens. This item retails for $35.
Lily Lashes Triple X Mascara: Next is my choice item and that’s from Lily Lashes! I heard so many things about this brand for its lashes but you know me I don’t wear lashes! Keep those things away from me! I did see they gave out the mascara and now wearing it. This is a lengthening, voluminizing, and bold mascara that has a tapered dual fiber brush that coats lashes with an ultra black formula. I have been using mascara primers due to how badly mine flaked into my eyes last year even caused me to be allergic to the E. L. F. Lash and Brow Gel Duo I used to love and when I used the lash primer my mascara stays put and even makes my lashes look better. This mascara did curl my lashes very well without a curler and very volumizing. This product retails for $24.
Cab Cosmetics Lip Duo: Next up was something I hoped to get and that is from CAB Cosmetics. I never heard of this brand until this was sneak peeked on YouTube. This is a lip liner and gloss duo that can be either worn alone or together which makes me happy on that part since I do use lip liner more with liquid lipstick to help them stay put more on the lips. This duo retails for $40.
Smashbox Photo Finish Setting Spray: Final item is from Smashbox! I was hoping to get this also because I am collecting items for a video on Smashbox for my Beauty Forgotten series and glad to get this here so I don’t have to purchase it! This helps make makeup stay put for 16 hours and is supposed to a comfortable wear without being sticky and also its high performance with the spray. I will definitely put this to the test when I get to that video and glad that I got this in my box because I don’t have to pay the retail price of $32.

So, this box was okay. I kind of felt like my box was thrown together with random stuff besides my choice as in the ere like, “Let’s throw this in! And this item! And this thing!” I don’t feel that this is a reason to cancel though because there are really good items I do get and glad to try new brands I haven’t gotten to try yet like Hank & Henry, now CAB, and have enjoyed other items from existing brands I have tried that I can’t always splurge on. I have seen people cancelling due to the items they have gotten and not being able to use. I know that feeling since I’ve gotten lashes twice and had to email them about it due to not marking them. Here is the thing, Ipsy, since I am also subscribed to them, always or gets my profile sometimes correct with what I pick and then get the other four items. BoxyCharm, on the other hand, feels like they hardly look at the quiz in the first place like what had happen with the Cover FX pallet a year ago where some people who fit in the certain skin tone categories got the wrong one. I’m hoping that the Medium Tan BB Cream is not too dark, also that the face wash doesn’t break me out. July’s choices were nothing but serums so hoping the next box will be better since we are technically in summer and yes having a nice BB Cream does help but they need to match skin tones right. I am still happy about the other three items though.

I did forget to mention! The item that FedEx inspected was the Smashbox Setting Spray because when I opened my box when I brought it inside I saw the box was open and knowing with sprays they do inspect those and wishing they weren’t jerks about it and open my box like they did. It’s like they think it may cause an issue, I understand that we have to be wary about what’s going around and being sent but seriously not cool!

That is it for this post. I was also supposed to get my Glam Bag but it ran into delays again! Hoping I do get it tomorrow or Tuesday! Until next time!
