Favorites: November and December 2015!

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Since we’re waiting on posting the Joshua Seth interview from Holiday Matsuri, I thought that I should do my November and December Favorites! Damn! 2015 went out the window! I think when I turned 30 the year went faster than usual! Well, I do have a lot of beauty faves especially subscription related items! Let’s see what I liked!

ELF Illuminating Pallet: First up is the ELF Illuminating pallet which was released during late October early November since it was a re-release of the Ambient Pallet that they released this past summer. I didn’t know about the Ambient one until it sold out and it was limited edition, which is kind of sad to know that until I found out that ELF released this one, I had my chance and got it! It was $6 and it’s not that bad for a pallet and it is soft with the glitter, as in it is not powerful nor chunky, it gives a nice light to the cheeks. I used one when I done Lucy for Holiday Matsuri and felt like wearing it at times to add a nice illumination to the skin. I will re-purchase whenever I hit pan.

MAC Eye Shadow in Ascent to Glimmer: During October leading up to Halloween, MAC released a vampy line for lipsticks and eye shadows, I also think they released highlighters which people went crazy for one of them. I did get a shadow finally which I wanted to try MAC’s eye shadows for a while now and got it in Adcent to Glimmer! It is a very beautiful purple cobalt blue that has shimmer! I worn this during Ranger Stop with my blue cat ears and it matched! I am sad that this is limited edition but I will still wear it, doesn’t mean I can’t still find a dupe or ask MAC what is similar to it.

Maybelline Collosal Cat Eyes Mascara: Another eye product I love and that is my Maybelline Collosal Cat Eyes mascara! I love this thing! It makes my lashes spikey and feel like I have lashes like a cat or a cat girl at least. I will definitely purchase this mascara again!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara: Oh yeah, something I’ve been reaching like crazy and that is the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara! I just tossed my deluxe sample which I will miss so much, but I did get it for free when Ulta sent me a free coupon for it and hoping I get another one of those coupons. I love how this mascara curls my lashes and feels like I put a roller on my lashes. Hoping I get this one again in the near future due to how I loved it and always reached for it when I am in my train case!

Lord of Missrule from Lush: Oh man, I went a bit Lush crazy lately and was sad to use up and that is the Lord of Missrule Shower Cream! I got this in the bat hibi jibi they did this past October and man it smells amazing! It is a citrusy smell with black pepper oil in it which I was afraid it might be spicy, no it wasn’t! It was like a sweet citrus smell and used it with the next favorite on here and it made my skin feel soft as well.

Night Wing Shower Jelly from Lush: My next fave, I also used up, is the Night Wing shower gel! This got me back into using shower jellies by Lush, which I don’t know why I stopped using them after loving the Sweetie Pie one that came in the Very Berry gift box Gondras got me for Valentine’s Day when we started going out. I know, aww! I love the smell, it has a dark citrus smell and it goes well with Lord of Missrule shower gel, also used it with Snow Fairy which made it a nice, earthy type smell. I hope this returns with the Lord shower cream next year, I would buy a bigger size of the shower cream and get the regular size of the shower jelly because this does last me a month. The girl at the airport location tried to suggest the bigger size but the regular one keeps me good for a month like the medium shower gels!

NYX Eyebrow Mascara: Forgot to mention this with mascaras but this is for the brows!I decided to start using clear eyebrow mascara since it is easier than matching your eyebrow color to a pencil or colored gel because there are times when it doesn’t match the brow exactly and there are times when they have different shades than your actual color. Using the clear one saves me the hassle and the NYX brand is really good! I have been using this whenever I do my make up and it keeps my brows in place, even more than the Chella one I tried through BoxyCharm. It also doesn’t cost a lot to get either, you can find it at Ulta and Target pretty easily too.

Fave Eye Look: Bronzed Taupe from L’Oreal, Carnival from Inspr, and Bone from Hikari! Decided to mention my fave eye look since I rarely talk about that and I worn this during Thanksgiving for a nice neutral look! It deals with using Bronzed Taupe from L’Oreal Infolluble Eye Shadow line, Carnival from Inspr, which I love from the November Ipsy bag, which is from Inspr Cosmetics btw, and Bone from Hikari as my highlight and then blend them altogether and gives a nice taupe eye look! I find it very simple and may use it more and more! The Carnival shadow I couldn’t exactly find it, Inspr’s website is weird, you have to choose the color you’re looking for and they don’t give you the shade name just color. It would be nice if they give you shade names but I did find a nice replacement and that is Hanky Panky from Colour Pop! Yes, I started buying Colour Pop slightly and was looking for a taupe and found this one while searching! Can’t wait to see how it works!

Delium Tools Blending Brush: Have to mention a brush and that is the blending brush by Delium Tools! I got this in Ipsy and love how it blends my eye shadows together! It even blends anything when I put it on top of a Color Tattoo on my eyes! I do have the Delium Tooks eye brush set which makes it even more fun when it comes to have a lot of eye brushes and can’t have enough!

Luxie Concealer Brush: This one came from Boxy and it’s the Luxie Under Eye Concealer brush! It is so simple to use and it helps blend my Cover Girl Invisble Lift concealer I use under my eyes all the time! Some people complained that the bristles are hard and they hurt but with me, it sort of hurts but it blends very well! This is my second Luxie item I’ve ever gotten and want one of their brush sets since I do go brush crazy!

Royal Lannickle Moda Eye Brush: I got this in October through Ipsy but fell in love with it since I used it throughout November and December and that is the Royal Langnickle eye brush! I find it interesting that this company is also a paint brush company that now makes make up brushes and I can see why! This brush puts the lid color on flawlessly and it feels very good while using it! I did get a small set but lost one of the brushes somehow after Matsuri, I used it for highlighter but don’t know what happened to it! Asked Gondras but didn’t find it I believe. I will find it! I think I also bought their paint brushes back in the past when I done Drawing classes, but this is a good brand to buy from!

Not So Faves: ELF Face Primers: I do have a not-so-fave and that is the ELF Face Primers! I switched up my face primers due to the Ulta Matte Prime was starting to getting even more expensive to purchase more and more! I tried NYX’s Matte Face Primer, didn’t like that one as much due to how too much of a cream it was, the Rimmel Matte Primer that I love and still purchase and then did try out ELF’’s Poreless and Mineral Primers. The Poreless one was pretty good and it had my make up on smoothly and kept it on and then Gondras handed me the Mineral one to take a try and one thing I didn’t like the most is that the Mineral one made my skin itch after application, even later on in the day! It kind of done that with the Poreless but not as bad as the Mineral one. I am sorry ELF but I can’t use these and what I don’t like the most is that they are greasy like crazy! Mostly the Mineral one is the greasiest one and the Poreless one gave off a weird herbal scent. What did I do? I went back to the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer because I love how cool it is when putting it on, it feels like more of a paste and it holds my make up very well and it doesn’t make my skin itcy at all! ELF, please make one for sensitive skin, as in with ingredients that won’t make my skin react as badly as the Mineral one then I will come back!

Favorite Books: Bound to Darkness and Stroke of Midnight by Lara Adrian: You know I always been loving the Midnight Breed Series and finally I read book 13 and 13.5 which are Bound to Darkness and Stroke of Midnight. I was glad Bound shows the relationship between Caris and Rune and it does answer the question from Marked by Midnight about the family that Rune and Nova came from, so it tells you who they are really! I don’t want to reveal too much because of anyone who haven’t read it like I did. I am re-reading it for Net Gally to review because it hadn’t been promoted enough and Net Gally is pretty awesome for anyone who does reviews for blogs, newspapers, and so on. It is pretty much you request a book, they send it when it gets approved, and send you the book through Kindel and then you review it when you’re done! I know it sounds weird for me to re-read it but there are times when I love to re-read things and I have been doing that with Midnight Breed and this time it is good for reviewing. With Stroke, on the other hand, it pretty much deals with one of the Rome team vampires getting his breedmate through a ritual that is tradition between his family and hers and while starting that ritual they had to leave in order to help a refugee camp nearby. As they are there, something evil lurks! This will link to the next book which is Defy the Dawn and that deals with Tavia’s half-sister Brine. It is getting better as time goes on but the story does twist and turn with each book and now novella since you have to read those to get more of the story as it goes! If you’re around my age, I still recommend this and the vampires aren’t like the Twilight ones, think of it like Buffy the Vampire Slayer where the vampires have weapons and the females have special powers due to family background and they are as strong as Buffy, Willow, and Cordelia!

Favorite Make Up Caryring Case: Caboodles Ultimate Carrying Train Case! Man, that is a mouthful! Recently I had to get a new carrying case for my all-time make up and it was starting to take over the bag I used and I hated how things fell out and lost it. I went to WalMart’s website to see about getting a train case and unfortunately I didn’t get the one I ordered on time and then didn’t get when they sent a replacement, which sucked, and then got a refund but they only gave me $18 out of the $23 I spent. I am not ordering from their website ever again after this crap that was pulled! Heck, I was afraid my BoxyCharm this month would go through the same thing but it did get to me while I was away. I had to settle on the Caboodles Ultimate Train Case and they aren’t kidding when it is ultimate! It has six trays like the Stylus one I wanted first and I was able to fit all my brushes, blushes, foundation, concealers, and so much more! I even have some of my fave shadow palleets such as the Too Faced Chocolate Bar, the Stardust one, the three NYX Dream Catcher pallets, my ELF Everyday Smoky, and of course the two ELF blush and Illuminating apllets! I love this thing even when I left for Matsuri because it also locks up and I can find my make up very easily along with my brushes because I had a struggle finding each brush but now it’s just on top and there you go! I have to put some of my brushes in a diagonal position when putting them away because some of them are bigger than the tray but it helps to do that! If you find this train case or the Stylist one I wanted so badly, get this because not only it’s a tad bit pricey, I got the Stylist while on sale and now it’s sold out, I am like screw it! Anyways, it’s worth the $30 with a case like this!

Well, that is it! I know it’s a long post but hey, at least I got out there for you to read! What is next? Of course waiting on Gondras to finish editing the Joshua Seth interview, not sure if I want to put up Todd’s first which I am thinking about doing that instead and at the same time not! Not sure yet. I still have my Bests and Worsts of this year, which I want to put that out there as well. I know I tend to put my fave con moments if I went through conventions with both months but at the same time want to save it for Bests and Worsts with Ranger Stop and Matsuri due to mentioning Omni Expo and AFO along with the Best and Worst stuff. Don’t want to be repetitive with all that. Stay tuned for that! Also, follow us on Twitter!

ELF Haul: Ship For Free Special!

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Finally I got my ELF order and an extra order due to the problem. What happened exactly?

Well, last month, ELF sent everyone who was surbscribed to their e-mail list a code to have anything shipped for free, it was also advertised on their site and decided to take advantage of it. This was the right time since they released new moisturizing lipsticks and decided to get some more and did have to get a re-purchase of an item and when things were shipped, I waited and then got someone else’s items. I had to contact ELF and they said that I can keep them and they will ship the person another order to them. I did get my order the next day but two items were missing and called them last Tuesday about it and then shipped me another order of my items and I did make a joke that they should send me a gift card. I checked my e-mail and earlier that morning they sent me an e-gift card for $5 and was glad to use it that same day. What did I get exactly?

Order Number 1:

Moisturizing Lipsticks in Bardeaux Beauty, Pink Minx, and Marsala Blush! This time around I decided to get two of the newer lipsticks and one of the older ones! I do have the one in Rosie-Go-Round and liked how it felt and decided why not get a few more with this deal. The two newer ones I picked up were Marsala Blush and Bardeaux Beauty. I was curious about these two and a few others and they seem to be complicated with how I was going to choose them and I decided on these two. Marsala Blush is a mauve color which I have been curious about trying out mauve colored lips. I think I have a mauve colored lip glosss somewhere in my major collection of lip colors and this is a nice one to try out as a little stepping stone. Next is Bardeaux Beauty which is a crimson-like red and since I am getting more into red lipsticks and glosses, I think it was time to try out a wine-ish color for a change. I did hear that some of these didn’t come out as pigmented as they hoped in videos but they did up their formula in some of them. I kind of see what they are talking about since Rosie is pretty moisturizing and one YouTuber said that when they first tried the color Cheeky, which is a bit of a rose gold, it was very drying. I do admit I use a lot of lip balm because my lips do dry out without applying it but the application goes on better with lip balm, that is just me. And the theird color, which is an oldie, is Pink Minx! I went back to my pink comfort zone when it comes to lips and it let me explore some of the older shades with the new. I do want to get Red Carpet, which I believe I got or not, there is always next time! The berry shades do catch my kitty ears and not sure if I will get those when they arrive at Target, I will try these out first before getting any more. If anyone loves black lipstick, you are in luck because the darkest shade in these new ones is a black one iknown as Black Out. Any cosplayers looking for a cheap lipstick, there you go!

Brush Cleanser! Yep, I got my daily brush cleanser spray and this was missing from my order when I got it in the mail. I am so glad to get it this time around because it is the best cleanser you can get for cheap! If you read my favorites post for July and August, this is the easiest cleaner you will ever buy! You just spray it on your bristles and rub all the residue off with a towel or rag and then let it air dry and you are good to go. Plus, it makes the bristles smell nice! If you can’t get your paws on the brush cleaning solid, which I hear so many people rave about, or the professional one from Michael’s, which people do clean their make up brushes with, or Sally Beauty Supply, I would suggest getting this one because it works as well!

Lip Liner in Mauve Lux! After getting the lipsticks and the brush cleanser, I decided to venture in the lip liner section. All thanks to my beauty subscriptions I have way too many eye liners and trying not to buy anymore and decided to get a few more lip liners because I wanted to get more into those. I found the Long Lasting Liners and they had three to choose from and went with Mauve Lux. I thought this would be a nice one to start with due to it being in the pinkish-purple range and it would give a darker edge to my lips. Great thing is that this liner does come with a sharpener, which I will carry in my make up bag for my lip liners I travel with. Not a bad thing to include, plus I do have my universal lead sharpener from Revlon. I do have an extra all thanks to the order mix up, since my package did come with this last Tuesday.

Shimmer Face Whip in Pink Lemonade! Oh man, how can I talk about this without laughing a little. When I got the other person’s order by mistake, I ended up with three of these Face Shimmering Whips, which I was curious in trying other illuminators. I picked out Pink Lemonade because it said in the description that it is the highest rated item by Allure and decided why not choose it? On top of that, did get two of the other ones and they are in Lilac Petal and Spotlight Fuschia I believe and when my actual envelope arrived I did receive my tube of Pink Lemonade. And then another in the order that was sent Thursday. I have three Pink Lemonades now and glad to try these out! Yeah, I do have two other of the colors that they made and it gives me a better idea of what they are like. I do like the smell though, they remind me of shervert and they do blend despite how sticky they are but they do stick well and I like that in a liquid type highlighter because I tend to have ones that were runny like crazy when you squeeze a small bit! I am so glad my NYX one is in control when I use it. Plus, you get a generous size, the tube is small because you only need one or two droplets for each cheek, which I wore one and it only need one droplet for both my cheeks and then blended into my skin. If you are in a need of a highlighter that is not runny and will give you too much in one squeeze, these are it and they are rated pretty high on the ELF site and plus you get it for $2 which is cheaper than a lot of highend stuff.

Shipment #2!

Essentials Brush Set! As you guys know I did get a gift card as an apology for my troubles and it was $5 and it was good to use since of course ELF is inexpensive! I did get two more items, I didn’t go back to the lipsticks since I have so many lip products as is! I did wanted to get a brush set and decided to go with the Essentials 12 Brush Set. I have been brush crazy and this kind of shows it. I love ELF’s brushes because of how soft they are and they aren’t expensive at all! In that order mix up, I did get the contour brush but gave it to my mom since she doesn’t have any and I don’t contour. I did tell her that these brushes are good and best to get these since she went to the department stores and were going to charge her $80 a brush, which is ridiculous mind you! The set includes your essentials in eyes, even a lip brush, and face, gotta love the signature name! It costs $12 and it gives me the nice range and of course can switch out whenever I need to. I would suggest getting this set for a loved one or yourself if you are looking for an inexpensive set, plus the kabuki brush is a must have since they are nice and soft!

Smudge Pot in Ocean Bound! I decided to go curious kitten on the eye shadow page and ran into the smudge pot section! I do love my Maybelline Color Tattoos, especially with cosplay looks, I decided why not check these out since they do have good reviews. It was hard to choose which color because I didn’t have an idea of which is which, even tried watching a few YouTube videos on them, but did decide on Ocean Bound which speaks for itself as a ocean colored shadow. These are pigmented according to people and willing to see if they are and they aren’t as expensive as MAC Paint Pots, which makes it better. I will see how this goes.

Amzaon: I did go on an Amazon shopping trip because of something I was looking for and that is the Z Pallet! Everyone on YouTube talk about these and since my Ulta Blockbuster set that is in the canvas casing kept on falling and it is a little warped, I decided why not deport it and get a Z Pallet for it. I did get a large one and a small one because the blushes wouldn’t fit in the bigger one due to how many shadows were in it but the problem is due to how powdery and chalky the shadows are they kept on breaking and spreading powder all over the place. That didn’t work out well, plus some of the pans do bend easily at times. I did get the blushes out pretty well and put them in the small one and it’s in my make up travel case since they are compact and willing to finish them with my other blushes. While the other pallet, I decided why not put the small Ulta quads that came in the set and the little make up bags since those contain shadows similar to the set I tried depotting the shadow pallet. It works since I can remove the plastic covering and also did notice one of them keeps on losing the covering. I am getting more metal plates to keep them down in the pallet since my failed attempts at getting the depotting to work caused me to use up a good majority of the metal stick ons that came with the pallets that I ordered. I am glad to do the quads and it will help me use up some of the shadows more. I will update you guys on how it goes!

Before I finish this post, I want to thank the ELF Team because they were amazing throughout my order situation and very patient. I appreciated that they did give me a gift card and was glad to put it to use on their lovely brushes! They are one of the nicest staff teams I ever met and very understanding too!I am still going to order from ELF and of course buy items from Target and WalMart from their sections, even Walgreens during Christmas. If you haven’t checked them out, eyeslipsface.com is their website! Thank you ELF Team for everything!

That is it for this post! Stay tuned for my many other posts!

Target Haul: September 1st!

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! I know this was supposed to be an ELF haul but due to shipping problems I have to wait for my stuff. Be glad I went to Target today when I thought I had an appointment this morning. I needed a few things and did pick up a few make up items while I was at it and a few things I wanted to try while another was something that a fave YouTuber tends to rave about!

The Essentials: First I needed more of my Clean and Clear Sensitive Skin Toner because I tend to go through it pretty quickly and now at a half a bottle or less since I use this item twice a day as directed, well there are times when I do it once a day. I love this stuff since a lot of companies do make sensitive skin items when it comes to skin care. Next is the Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine for Frizzy Hair! I started using this when I had highlights at the beginning of the year and it kept my hair from going crispy like when they blow dry it and put hairspray in it, which was a big no-no and wished it didn’t happen due to my hair being a frizz ball. So glad I use the Marc Anthony Argon Oil Hairspray. Anyways, this Frizzy Hair oil was suggested by dorm staff in Daytona and it works wonders and it’s my third purchase of it! I use it when I wash my hair and on days where I use my dry shampoo and need to give it my hair treatment pick me up!

Make Up Items: Well, went down the make up area because I was looking to try newer items and one of them was a stop at ELF and since I wanted to try their face primer and glad to know that Target carries it. There were four different ones in this range which were the hydrating one, the porerless one, and two different versions for tone correcting. I went with poreless because I tend to have that run in with pores around my nose and I feel the gunk from my make up go into my nose ridges and have to use the strip time-to-time but they are stubborn like crazy! I am thinking to the radio commercial on ITunes for the Biore Charcoal Strips, which I am thinking of trying those next, talking about how gross they are and with me they are a pain! Hoping this doesn’t break me out since the Smashbox one did kind of do that and it may have been the batch I got in the Try It kit and ELF items for face tend to have salisilic acid, let’s see how this works!

Next, since it was the next section over, stopped by Maybelline to pick up the Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara! Since I have so many shadows, liners, and wanted to try out newer mascaras as a break, which I had a shadow purchase and that’s next, decided to check out another Colossal counterpart. I almost got the regular one since Vivi liked that one and I already like the Chaotic, but what caught my ears the most is the Cat Eyes one! Of course, mention “cat” you got my ears! It claims that the formula in this mascara spikes out lashes to give more of a cat eye look, especially at the corners. I have to try this out and see how it goes since it will be my first time trying it out and if it goes well like the Chaotic, which I did get my second tube of not too long ago, then I will wear it with my cat ears, collar, and now tail.

Next, I tried dropping by Rimmel to see if they had the East End Snob lip liner and they didn’t at the location I went to. I ended up going through it due to all the points breaking off and will have to remember that not to touch it too much and it will break everytime. I still love the liner and will probably look at Ulta on another girls’ day thing or at Walgreens or WalMart. I did pop by L’Oreal since I kept on hearing Kathleen Lights talking about the Telescopic mascara and was glad to find it. I like the packaging on this a lot because it is pretty much a telescope for what it says on the packaging! It also claims that it defines lashes to make them longer. I will give this a try since I do like the Miss Manga, the newer Miss Manga Rock Edition, and the Butterfly mascara, which I like to try out newer ones and get the ones I like over and over. Let’s see how this one works out and end up on re-purchase lists!

Finally, the Infoluble eye shadow in Eternal Black! I have been on a eye shadow no-buy or try to since I did get the Hikari Ready for Fall set from Ipsy and that contained three shadows and it’s hard not to get any more shadows since they are a staple to wear and new ones keep coming out and I do like the drugstore ones I own, especially the Infolluble Shadows by L’Oreal! The ones I have in case you’re wondering are Soltry Smokes, since I use that for my L cosplay to accent his sleeping eye look and it looks nice for everyday wear, Iced Latte, a golden nude, Amber Rush, which is a copper nude Bronzed Taupe, which is taupe with a bit of a bronzey edge, , Midnight Blue, which looks amazing with my hazel eyes or green when it’s the right transformation (my eyes tend to do that), and Golden Sage, which is a golden green color. The one I got this time is Eternal Black because I have been a curious kitty in trying out black shadows and not just as a smoky eye thing. I have to thank Vivi for it since she is kind of having me step outside of the box due to showing me the Primal shadows by NYX that she recently picked up and one of them was black. I decided why not go for broke and get Eternal Black since Jen from Head to Toe talked about this color in a haul a while back, she did get me into these shadows all thanks to that haul, and knew I would probably pick it up someday since it’s a nice, shimmery black shadow! I may have to wear this for Soul Switch because I am thinking of wearing my zombie ravaged shirt. Still, glad to step out of the box for a bit and this will go nice with my black liners on top of it since I wear my Smoky liner from Hot Topic with Soltry Smokes!

Well, that is it for this haul! I will have the ELF haul up once I have this shipping situation fixed. I did call them a few minutes ago and they will be re-shipping my items, which I am thinking due to the “Ship for Free” special it caused a major mix up. I will tell the entire story once I get the entire order in and hoping that I get all six items I purchased originally. Stay tuned for that! Once that is done, will try and do the whole too young for make up post and then start my new segment, “Doesn’t Sound the Same.”

May and June Favorites 2015!

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! I was going to do the permanent make up controversy until I didn’t realize that it was close to the end of June and that means May and June favorites! This May and June, I had a few faves from Omni Expo and a few beauty thingslet’s see what I got for you guys this time and good news, no not-so-faves!

Favorite Voice Actor Moment: Meeting Matthew Mercer again and meeting Jessica Calvello and see her geek out! Oh man, Omni was amazing this year! So many guests and so many events, man it brought a lot of great moments as well! One of them is meeting up with Matt Mercer during his second year back and he did recognize me through my cosplay despite having my crappy cold last year. Don’t worry, diddn’t get sick again before the convention. I did have Gondras with me and he was cosplaying of course the 4th Doctor and that was the one that got Matt into Doctor Who since it was what he watched before going to school. Don’t worry, he got a Jelly Baby along with Lauren Landa and some of the other guests! Another moment is seeing Jessica Calvello go nerdy the entire weekend, even cosplaying as her character from Attack on Titan! It is great to see a voice actor have fun and Jessica Calvello is one of them! Still great to see her panels with Matt and David Walde!

Favorites Interview: Bryce Papenbrook! It was hard to choose from the interviews I done but Bryce Papenbrook’s stood out the most since I waited the months before to meet him and glad to have that one on one with him. Plus, it was the most head breaking one, which I will reveal it and that is his dad played the role of Rito Revulto in Power Rangers. I watched a video of it and was like “OMG, it is him!” Bryce is a very nice guy and a very talented one at that!

Brushes: Kabuki Brush by ELF and Concealer Brush by Glamier! I am adding brushes to this list because there are two fave brushes that I have been using. First is the ELF Kabuki brush and man I can see why people went crazy for this one! It is easy to hold and very soft and easier to apply my foundation now on top of the newer foundation primers I’ve been trying out for a change. It also doesn’t cost that much either like the Bella Pierre one I got in my BoxyCharm this month which is $20 and bigger than it because the Bella Pierre one is a bit smaller and sheds a little when I first got it like other people. Next is the Glamier Concealer Brush from this month’s Ipsy bag. I might be cheating since I started using this once I got it in my bag but couldn’t wait to use it! I love how soft it is and easy to blend my spot concealer which is what I use it for. I use a smaller one for my under eye concealer from one of the brush sets I got this month, this one is best for the spot concealing since it can provide the easier canvas for foundation and with blending the foundation with the kabuki, with whatever I don’t blend with the concealer brush it will blend the rest which makes it better.

ELF Daily Brush Cleaner! Speaking of brushes, I had to bring up something interesting I found and that is the ELF Daily Brush Cleaning Spray! As an ELF user, I didn’t know this exist until I bought an eye primer to try out after using up the Mica eye primer I received in Ipsy and then my dad found a brush cleaner. I decided to get it and try it out since I like to clean my brushes a lot more easily than just soap and water and that seems to gunk up the brushes a bit, which my foundation brush from ELF has gone through that. Anyways, this is an easy to use spray which you just spray the bristles and use a cloth, which I use a standard towel, and clean off the make up and residue. I did read through my Open Book when checking directions on the box (For any curious readers, it’s a scanning program for the blind that reads documents, it helps read the BoxyCharm cards and packaging for buying make up when needed) and saw that it mentioned a brush shampoo. I have to hunt that down whenever I go back to Target or might have to see about the website having it. I am so glad ELF has their own brush cleaner because it sure beats just soap and water and it is easy to do it in one, two, three since the brush dries right away. I don’t know how much it costs, maybe it’s a bit more than the make up items that get sold, I would say try it out especially for any make up artists that need that rapid clean while on the run without breaking the bank!

Mica Eye Primer! I finally started using it since I ran out of the City Color Cosmetics one I’ve been using since last December. I got this in my Ipsy bag along with many other people and not sure if I did mention it in a faves but mentioning it now! I know Mica is a highend brand and saw the price on an eye shadow duo that Ipsy had for an Ipsy Me and I think it was close to $40 retail on Mica and I could imagine how much this would be normally. Also, Mica does show up in BoxyCharm time-to-time as full size and would be interesting to get the full-size of this in that box because…the only problem I have with this version from Ipsy is that it’s hard to reach in and get the product! When you open it, it pretty much dips into it and it’s hard to do it with the finger so I grab one of my smaller shadow brushes, I think it’s the Bare Minerals one that Mommy Gondras gave me or the Urban Decay one from the Ammo pallet I got when it was discounted, still decided to use that brush to get the product and it works well but you need to swipe it a few times to get it on the brush. I do like how it holds my shadows for hours! I did find it interesting how some people found a black spot or two in their sample of this but me nope! I understand how bad and scary that could be but mine was lucky! I hope I get more eye primers like this as sample sizes because it shows me what brands do make them and let you experiment!

Foundation Primers by NYX, Smashbox, and Rimmel! It seems that lately I’ve been experimenting with new foundation primers because it costs too much to buy the Ulta Matte Prime and decided to branch out a little. Plus, there are times where some locations sell out of the Ulta Matte Prime even during sales when they do their special buy one get one half off or buy two get two free, even the $5 sale they had in November, still it costs a bit much! I started to try out with NYX’s eye primer which is a smaller version but it did a pretty good job in holding my foundation. I didn’t like how greasy it kind of felt and even though it was good for my skin-type, I kind of felt it a little itchy at certain points of the day and of course ran out a little too quickly. Then of course, I did try out the Stay Matte one from Rimmel! This one was something I saw how people liked it! It felt smooth on my face despite it being a little heavier and it felt cool while applying it! As in, it didn’t burn or anything, I can see why people liked this since it doesn’t break anyone out and good for sensitive skin as well. Plus, it doesn’t cost as much as the NYX one which that one was $13 according to Ulta and the RImmel one is $7 at CVS, not sure if Ulta locations near me carry the RImmel one but glad to see that I can get a cheaper option than the Ulta Matte Prime. Now onto the Smashbox one! I got this in my June Ipsy like a lot of Ipsters! If you saw my post of what I got, I was skeptical and did my research and was glad to see that it was for my skin-type since I did back out from getting the starter kit that had this and didn’t want to risk my skin! I did try it out and enjoyed the feeling! For a $36 primer, I liked how it did help blend everything in and it was very convenient since some people do have oily skin around this time of year and glad Ipsy had it. I may get the starter kit if it still exists if I wanted to use the primer again but I will be sticking to Rimmel since I do like how it stays put and doesn’t feel itchy or doesn’t burn like most facial products do.

Rob Scheppy for ‘Tini Beauty Pallet! Now onto the real beauty products and this one has been a favorite ever since I tried a sample through Ipsy and that is the Rob Scheppy for ‘Tini Beauty shadow pallet! For anyone who doesn’t know who Rob Scheppy, which I did a little research, he is the make up artist for the Cardatians and he did start making his pallet for ‘Tini beauty this year. I didn’t know what ‘Tini Beauty was until YouTuber talked about getting some items with points and noticed that some of the make up oproducts are named after bar names and Ipsters got samples of Pearl Fizz. I was happy that the full pallet was up for an Ipsy Me offer and it contains eight shadows which I used this pallet to create the eye look for my ice trainer cosplay for Omni. I used the four middle shades to have a nice frosted look and man it looked good! I will use this time to time for smoky looks whenever I feel like it but this is a cosplay pallet that I will be using for my ice trainer!

Provaclips in Kiss Fatale by Rimmel! Another cosplay make up item that I used with my ice trainer cosplay and that is the Provaclips in Kiss Fatale! I love this since I got Kiss Me You Fool from the same line and thought it would be perfect for the deep deep, plum color. I thought it would fit with the whole looking as if I was freezing my butt off in an ice gym and of course needed something that would be long-lasting during the entire convention weekend. I hardly had to re—apply, especially Saturday when we had to run all over the place the most due to the many panels, meeting guests, and the AOT panel! Still felt light and stayed put! Plus, doesn’t cost so much! I would say get one of these by Rimmel since Rimmel is a well-known make up company, heck I still use Captivate Me from the Stay Glossy line.

Ruby Woo by Mac! I got another MAC product and that is the lipstick in Ruby Woo! I heard Grav3yard Girl talk about this one for the longest time and my cat ears were curious as always and picked it up while MAC had their free second day shipping offer and thought I would take a try at it. When I got it, I was surprised that it was packaged pretty well, like a chocolate on a pillow in a hotel! I do use this on top of lip balm because I feel the lipsticks on their own, for that matter any lipstick, feels dry and have to have that lip balm for moisture and feels a lot smoother while applying. I wanted to keep using it as days go on because of how lightweight it felt and it has pretty good staying power while drinking liquids. I will try out other lipsticks but still gotta finish up what I have, which is hard since new items do come out like crazy!

Blush Quad by ELF! I was happy to find out that ELF made a blush pallet and man it’s cheaper than the Lorac one since it is nice and compact, plus it still has the same quality as a higher end product. I do say that don’t have to spend too much to look good! I think I got the one for light skin because it comes in two skin tones, one for light and the other for darker skin and it is easy to apply and blend on the cheek bones. I would say get this pallet if you’re on a budget and it’s available at Target and the ELF website!

Mosaic Highlighter by NYX! Lately I have been into highlighting and I have been looking for more of powder highlighters because there are times when cream ones squeeze out too much and gets all over. I had to toss out the Beauty Crop one since it kept on squeezing so much out. I did like it but I rather use powder ones over creams due to how much more control I can get, especially when it’s in a pallet. This one I found with the help of the lady that worked at Ulta and she shown me the powder illuminators by NYX and this one stuck out the most and got it! It is a mixture of the different highlight colors of gold, silver, and bronze into one and you can mix them together to apply to your cheeks, nose, and around the chin. I do mostly the cheeks and sometimes my nose if I’m feeling it. It is always fun to use because I am not sticking to just one and trying to figure out which one I want to use that day, I can just mix all the glitters together. Plus it’s easy to blend into blush! I want to get some of the other ones since they do have a few others but this one is a staple!

Highlighter Pallet by ELF! This one I got off the ELF website since I can’t find it in stores along with their baked highlighters, which I am interested in trying out. Unlike the NYX powder highlighter I mentioned, this is more of a gel consistency but it comes in a nice, convenient pallet rather than a tube. It is easy to blend as well and tend to stay on pretty well! You get choices from four highlights, I am not sure if you can mix one or more but I do like choosing from more than one. I wish they carry these in Targets so I don’t have to order it when I run out.

Necklace: Harley Quin Bat Symbol! My favorite necklace is the Harley Quin bat symbol pendant since I couldn’t fit the choker, I was glad this one existed since it is more of a chain versus a velvet choker. I wish the chokers weren’t so small at Hot Topic, I mis the belt ones they use for the spike ones but those only come out for the fall and it sucks that happens now. At least this necklace fits and I like how you can adjust it to make it higher or lower on your neck and it has Harley’s logo in the shape of the Batman symbol.

Earrings: Harley Quin Set! Yes, I have to include these! I was also happy to find that earrings were made for Harley Quin, well themed after her and they come with six pairs. The only pair I or pairs I like are the black diamonds and the Jester hats. You know I love Jester characters and it was so cute that they made jester hat earrings for this set and of course can’t be complete without doing the diamond patterns she has on her suit. I wear the black diamonds time to time, or are they the red ones, don’t know, still great ot have this set. The only set that seems to be out of blace is the gun pair earrings. I hardly see Harley carry a gun, it’s always the Joker doing it! Heck, he even has a Saints Row moment in the Suicide Club animated movie carrying a gun in hand! I don’t think I will wear the gun pair, I think I will use the backings as extra ones in case I lost one like one night with my jester hat pair and did have to get another pack as a back up. I hope to find more Harley stuff in the future.

I think that is about it for these favorites! Will definitely and try and do that one post about permanent make up this coming week. Stay tuned!

Mini Hot Cash Haul and ELF Haul!

Hello everyone and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! I know I was going to be doing the next TransMedia Retrospective but decided to bring my Hot Cash and a small ELF haul for you! It’s been a while for a haul since we expanded into music and have been busy looking for a job and of course Braille Reading Contest! And this month will be busy as hell since Omni Expo is this month and I have my annual eye appointment…booo! Anyuway, let’s get started!

Hot Topic Hot Cash for April! Well, I was glad to get money in my account which is down to little due to finding the Pikachu plushie I was looking for for a little while now and did get the alert texts from Hot Topic a week ago with the whole “It’s the last day! Use it!” So, did and man I had a hard time finding things that I wanted. Didn’t go for shirts since I have enough shirts as is right now and found three items and then later on went to the store while dropping an application.

Harley Quin Nylon Train Case! You guys know I love Harley Quin and jester characters, such as Kuromi from Sanrio the most! But of course Harley Quin is my most fave when it comes to DC, and of course she’s the answer to creating a Dead Pool. If you’re wondering what that means….well Gondras read me the new Harley comic and she is pretty much Dead Pool in DC and pretty much goes with the alternate voice but in a stuffed beaver doll named Bernie and she does break the fourth wall a lot! It’s funny and cute, of course Ivy shows up since they are always paired up! Back to the haul, I had a hard time choosing what I wanted and decided to look around the Harley stuff since it’s been a while since I got anything of her after the perfume and robe, I found this and it’s a train case that is pretty much a Caboodle with the Harley logo in the Batman logo style! It has the mirror and man it’s more roomier than my old Caboodle! I was surprised I was able to fit a lot of things! At first I thought it would be small to keep my professional kit but I can keep both that and my cosplay make up kit which these kits are both my Naked Basics pallets, the Almay Bold Nudes pallet in the Green Eyes version, my Maybelline Rose Petal blush, my ELF Essentials Clear Brow and Lash mascara, my Rob Sheppy pallet for my Pokemon costume for Omni this year, my color tattoo in Inked in Pink, which I am definitely going to get my Fairy Tail mark done when I do Lucy for AFO, my Cupcake Butter Gloss and Cupcake Lip Butter! I almost thought about putting the Miss Manga mascara in it buuuuttt I tend to wear it on some days when I feel like grabbing it. Forgot to mention, my blush I am using for my ice trainer as well. And of cour a brush to draw the Fairy Tail mark! I am so glad to find this on there because I almost got the make up bag but I have enough of them due to Ipsy that I don’t need anymore! Thought this was a good choice since the make up bag I used for the professional kit was getting fuller with the Naked Basic pallets. On top of that, the one I had from Caboodles was breaking a little. Way to go Hot Topic!

Polka Dot Brush Set! Lately I have been having a bit of a brush obsession! Didn’t help that I had to replace my eyebrow brush that came in my brush set from WalMart with a Real Techniques one. While going through Hot Topic’s site, I looked around in the make up area and found this and that is a set of five brushes and they have polka dot patterns on them! I did like the price since they were around 50 cents less than what WalMart sold and I did see they got a 5 out of 5 rating on the website. It looks like the set has a face brush, three eye brushes, one for the crease or liner, a precise chisel brush, and a regular eye brush, and of course an eyebrow brush, always good to have a spare just in case! They also feel pretty lightweight and can’t wait to use them!

LA Girl Eye Shadow Brick in Smokey! Well, another eye shadow pallet to add to the arsenal of pallets I own and that is the Eye Shadow Brick in Smokey by LA Girl! I heard of LA Girl before through YouTube and was surprised that Hot Topic sold them along with their Black Heart make up line! I thought it would be great to check them out since I found this on their site. They do have the Nudes pallet if I remembered but the Smokey pallet caught my interest and decided to order it. The pallet is pretty big and it has twelve shadows and pretty versatile. I can’t wait to try these out since I heard good things about it and saw one bad review on it but it didn’t stop me. On the LA Girl site these retail for $9 while Hot Topic sold these for fifty cents more, which doesn’t make sense but at the same time was a good grab, especially with Hot Cash!

In Store: So, while dropping off an application to work, I decided to see if they had the Harley style logo necklace I saw on the website at the store since I feel as though I should’ve bought during the Hot Cash use and went and was told about the choker and got that along with a set of six pairs of Harley themed earrings, which feature some as Aces, the black and red diamonds you see on her jester outfit, and even the ones I am currently wearing and they are jester hats, which are cute! Unfortunately, I had to go back right away because the choker didn’t fit! I thought it would with the adjustable chain but it is more for someone with a tiny neck which I think is impossible, it would be more of a bracelet. I did exchange it by using the money to put it for the necklace to be shipped to the store. I need to mention this, there is one thing I missed that gets carried regularly in Hot Topic in the past and they were the belt chokers! They do get carried in October for Halloween but I do miss them being carried because it’s easier to wear the belt chokers since they are adjustable and it would be better if the Harley Quin chokers were in that style instead of the velvet types or just extend the ribbon to fit the bigger sizes. Heck, here’s a nice design idea, the belt choker with the black and red diamonds and then do the Harley logo. Sounds pretty good huh? I can’t wait to get my paws on the necklace and wear it.

E. L. F. Haul Time! Lately I have been going a little bit E. L. F. crazy. As you know, they are a make up company that gets carried in Target and in some WalMarts and Walgreens, well during Christmas. I had my eye on a few things on the website and have been hearing about and decided to get them. First, the website! After shopping on the Hot Topic website, decided to hop over to the E. L. F. website and decided to grab the Highlight pallet, which is a pallet that contains four highlighters. I am getting more into highlighting and saw that a lot of people loved this and I am glad to see what this will hold when I start using it. Another item is another Essntials Clear Brow and Lash Mascara because I feel mine will be running out soon and not sure if it’s carried in the stores and loved this product! And then did want the blush pallet but didn’t want to go crazy despite how cheap this brand is, so I decided to see if any of the Targets had it and they did. I was glad to drop by after an interview and get it for the Light Skin I believe and it has four blushes, one pink, one peach, a tan, and I think a coral. It felt soft when I wore it when Gondras and I saw Avengers 2 and it felt light! I do have an ELF studio blush and loved how that felt and this pallet still has that feeling! I will have to try it with the highlighter to see how that goes.

Well, that is it for this haul! Next up will be the Transmedia Retrospective I promised! Stay tuned!
