The Subscription Satelite: January & February 2020 Review Round Up!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe. I’m back with another post!

January & February Subscription Round Up!

I know I was going to do my review on a book but have been running a little behind with posts so bear with me! I decided to do this first since this is the end of the month after all! I did say I was going to start doing this with telling you guys what are my thoughts on each box for every two months!

BoxyCharm: First starting off with BoxyCharm and I have to say that the first month of the year it came off strong with the makeup items. I was able to create a full face with the Ace pallet, the Wonder Beauty Blush and Bronzer Duo, and the Too Faced Highlighter, and the Mana Kadar lip gloss, even though that ran out pretty quickly since it felt like there was not enough product in the tube. I felt it dried a bit too much and that I felt it was not that great and threw it out. The sleeping mask from Advent was okay, I felt like I didn’t get too much moisture and it kind of stung while I put it on. I am not sure if it’s due to the amount of skin care I use or my skin is not ready for a product like it but it did make my skin sting a lot while putting it on every night and was okay for the rest of the night. I think skin care that costs over a hundred dollars is not as cracked up to be when people keep on saying the most money you should be spending is on skin care alone. I’m sorry but I spend drugstore prices and $25 for one moisturizer and I’m good all around! Plus, all the sheet mask packs I get from Ipsy are around $15 so I don’t have to spend so much. I did enjoy the other three items though, people did like the look I create with the Vintage Dawn pallet from Ace since I was doing a pretty neutral look with it alongside the Trip for Two Duo from Wonder and the Too Faced Highlighter. I hope that they keep doing the same idea for more boxes like this because it works!
February, on the other hand, I got more skin care products than makeup which I’m not too mad but the only thing that sucked were the hemp wipes I got in the box. Those did not clean off my makeup like they were supposed to since I notice my mascara, even my Lash Princess Waterproof, stay behind and yes I do go in with the First Aid Beauty Pads but I needed more cleansing when it came to my makeup afterwards. The brand Evio should make these better as in make them moister or make the hemp stronger to make them able to clean off makeup. So, I have used them to wipe my brushes while using them. The First Aid Facial Pads are pretty good in case if you’re wondering. I do use them after cleaning my makeup off and then shower. I may have to start buying these! I did start using the Ciate London powder since I finished up another and man it smells good and it does set the face really well! I feel great after blending my powder and it does stay well all day even after spraying it with the setting spray. I haven’t used the Becca foundation yet but will eventually! I do have to talk about the Alomar brushes because I have found that people on what’s up in Makeup group had issues using these actually. According to some people they aren’t able to blend their makeup very well but I’ve been having really good luck with mine. I’m not sure if it’s due to products other people have been using or it’s what they’re using them for but I had no issue controlling my makeup application. I guess I have to keep on using these!

Next up is Ipsy since it would be easier to talk about the base bag. I didn’t use the nail polish I got in January’s bag yet because I didn’t have any time to do my nails. January and February have been busy months for me so it was hard to find a night to do my nails. I did use the other items though! I used up the Hempz Moisturizer but what I found off about it is that it’s so thick it’s hard to squeeze out even towards the end of the bottle. I have the Sensitive Skin one since Ulta does sell their products and still had the dry patches and wanted to try that formula it was hard to pump out at first since it came with a pump. I don’t think I will re-purchase because they make it so thick that it’s hard to get out of any container they put it in even with a pump so not spending my money again on their stuff even if it’s travel size. I did enjoy the Nomad shadow and the Ofra highlighter and of course I do use the Finding Ferdinand lipstick sample since it’s always in my makeup bag whenever I wear it at work and need to touch up.
February had it strong though with the Colored Rain lipstick! This is a great lipstick and now see why people liked this one because all I have to do is dab it on and go on with my day! I just put a little sometimes and just go with it because it just goes on smoothly. I did find it annoying is that it was seen as a Chinese dupe. If you’re not in the know but recently Not So Evil Stepmother talked about how BoxyCharm had a Chinese dupe of the Fairy Tale Cosmetics pallet in their December box and it had “Made in the PRC” which means the People’s Republic of China. She went on to say that these items were made in BoxyCharm’s labs in China to make the surplus of product they need but wrong! Sometimes a brand has their products made in China to meet demand even if made in the U. S. She mentioned how this lipstick was one of those and she mentioned how these products did not perform as their original counterparts. This product stayed on my lips and did have to apply again after eating something but that’s normal with any lipstick out there. I will buy another tube of this product and see what happens when I do since these aren’t really expensive. I haven’t used the hand cream though since I’ve still have some tubes of it being used, I have used the powder brush though and enjoying it. While the shadow, I felt it was a little dry but it did go on well pretty well since I did use it in my inner corners. While the face primer from IT Cosmetics, it was nice but I feel that it needed to be a bigger product because it was so tiny that I was done in two uses! I had more uses with the Tarte Shape Tape Primer when I had that sample though. I think I gave it a lower score than usual.

Glam Bag Plus: Now finally Glam Bag Plus! January’s bag was really good since I’ve enjoyed using every single product! I was surprised with the sheet masks from Duft & Doft because I thought I got two but they were two packs of three in each so I got six! Man Ipsy you spoiled me with these! I did use two so far and they have been working out with my face and not too harsh of an ingredient mix either. I have also been enjoying the Brow Kit from Billion Dollar Brows and no it’s not as bad as the Brow Bar Pallet I got in my December BoxyCharm. My brows feel like my brows with this one. It’s an easy to use kit and the brush is even really soft once I get the gel in to set everything. I did notice more items to choose from from this in March’s box but I didn’t select the pomades because I want to see if they give me one anyways. Let’s see how that goes. The eyeliner from Sugar was really good as well. I’ve been using it for work and I’ve had an easy time applying the liner when I use it. And the Huda pallet in Ruby is pigmented as the others I’ve used from her shadow pallets. I hope they keep giving these out since they are a great product and it’s a great brand!
Like with January, I did get more sheet masks in my February GB Plus. This time it’s from Avette and I felt like it did sting a little when I wore one of the masks since I got four of them. I notice some of my masks do sting a little because they’re working into my skin as the timer is running but I do leave these on a bit longer than expected since my skin’s so dry and needs that extra hydration. I do use sheet masks twice a week where I do it on Tuesday and at the end of the week to heal my skin after a long work week. I will have to keep using these and hoping to get more masks in this bag or my regular one. I did put the Inkliner from Il Makiage in my rotation to see how well it works on my eyes while I got to use my Sweater Weather pallet yesterday and those were really good shadows. The Laruce brushes have been working out pretty well with what I’ve been using them with. And with the Murad moisturizer I have to say it’s been working out for me very well. How so? Well, after my GB Plus post I decided to try it out without makeup and then with it on top to see how my skin reacts. Without makeup it didn’t get irritated at all which was a good sign. It didn’t get irritated either when I put makeup on and set it with my setting spray and even went outside to get the sun which worked out really well. So far so good my skin is liking this product but the price point is not making me want to buy it but I will try others if they’re meant for my skin type. And oh right, forgot about the Jules Smith lip glosses from January! So far I have finished one and enjoyed it but wishing there was more product in the tube since I’ve been liking it.

Well guys that is my round up on the boxes for January and February! So far so good the first two months for all three have been going great. I feel like with Ipsy in the choices for March though were kind of lacking so had to choose something that I would like. I will see what they picked for the rest of my bag since GB Plus was a quick one for me. I am looking at the BoxyCharm website for now on because since I don’t get the emails but I do watch it like a hawk so I won’t miss choosing something. I did get something since one item was a curling iron but I only go for flat irons since my hair is already curly. If I have to give it to one box for these two months I would say GB Plus because I felt their products were really good with what they’ve given me and I was almost skeptical with the Murad Moisturizer but it did work out in the end. I will have to see what March and April bring for these three! I will have the book review next! Sorry for being behind but things did happen over time. Until next time!

Ipsy and BOxyCharm: August 2015

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Well, another month and another time for Ipsy and BoxyCharm! I finally got both in the mail, well BoxyCharm came before my Ipsy bag which is weird since they either come at the same time or Ipsy comes first but it was the other way around. It seemed that BoxyCharm also shown up first while I was away for AFO, which my review will be up next for that. Let’s see what I got in both!

Ipsy: This month’s theme was “Prep School” and it fits since some states start school in August while others don’t start til next month, Ipsy usually kicks it off with their bag and unlike last year, the bag was very different! Last year’s bag was a pencil case type bag and the items were tiny compared to other items in other months and a lot of people didn’t like it. I did and I got the idea of the theme while this year it was more of a hounds tooth-like bag and very textured. It kind of feels like last month’s bag but more plastic/vinyl feeling and inside you have a cloth material. It is a pretty decent size this year and the items fit with this year which a lot of Ipsters got pencil-type items and other things you may use in school, especially when a lot of younger teens have been getting into make up and I always remembered standing behind girls hogging the mirrors and sinks putting on make up. Anyways, I did get one item I had to give to my mom and the rest was good!

Ofra Cosmetics Lip Liner in Wine! To start my Prep School bag is a liner pencil and it’s for the lips! As said, a lot of Ipsters got pencil items to fit with the theme and lip liner pencils were part of it and I got my lip liner from Ofra Cosmetics, which I have tried products from them such as my first Ipsy Me offer of an eye shadow pallet, the shimmery blush stripes from BoxyCharm and also an eyeliner, forgot about that, and one of the points items in the points shop. I never tried a lip liner by these guys and it’s good to try out something new and it’s clever to put a lip liner in this, plus it’s my second lip liner I ever gotten and starting to use them here and there. It is in a wine nude color, I think it will go with a lot of my lip colors.

Doucce Precision Eye Liner in Black! Another pencil for the month and that is an eye liner pencil by a brand called Doucce. I gotten a face mask by this brand in BoxyCharm but gave it to my mom since it is meant for mature skin. I am glad to receive an eye liner by these guys because it lets me explore this brand more and of course eye liner is a major item I love to use and it’s good that I get these because I don’t have to buy so many eye liners in the store and let me try out newer brands. This is in black and it is very universal to have black liner since it is pretty much a base color to have. I have tons of black liners but hey I get to try out other companies while I use them up! It says on the page that is very precise and glides on very smoothly, which I like and it’s also a blends easily! Plus it’s full size, which I did get a liner sample last August from Lord and Berry, which that brand was also one of the others available this year, in black as well but used it up due to how tiny it was. At least it is full size and will last even longer! I hope to get more of this brand along the way!

Marc Anthony Argon Oil! Next is a hair product and it’s my second time trying out the brand Marc Anthony! As we all go back to school, we love to use hair products and this was a perfect time for Ipsy to give out hair items! Some Ipsters did receive a Brioggio volume spray and this argon oil by Marc Antony. I tried the hair spray and love it and got the full size of it and now this time I have a hair oil, I can’t wait to try it out since I have so many other hair items from both the subscriptions I have, like the Cool Way Leave in Oil, the Gorge Cosmetics Leave In Conitioner and the product I got in Boxy this month. I love getting hair items and this one is something good totry. And also good news, mine didn’t leak.

La Fresh Group Good Night Cream! This is something I gave to my mom because of its properties and that is La Fresh Group’s Good Night Night Cream. I know I should be happy since it is a night cream but not, this cream is meant for people with wrinkles and crow’s feet and I don’t have that. Yes, I know it’s hydrating but it is meant for older skin. Again, I would’ve been happy with nail polish instead or anything else but this is not something I use. At least my mom gets to put it to good use!

Hikari Lip Gloss! Yay! Another Hikari item! I love Hikari and and was super excited to find out that I was getting an item by them again and was looking forward to getting the lip gloss when I saw my Glam Room! A lot of Ipsters got this item and they got it in the color Salsa which is a red, not sure if it’s red but glad to try this out since I liked the Cabronet lipstick that I swapped for. Glad that Ipsy sent this to me and hoping they get more Hikari items in the future because this is a good company.

BoxyCharm: This month’s BoxyCharm was slightly better. It had more eye related products but one stood out in particular!

Coastal Sense Revealed 3! First item is the Coastal Sense Revealed 3 pallet! I was so happy to get it this month because I was hoping to get it in one of the boxes and decided to wait for that and my patience paid off. I did get the first two in December and April like everyone else and loved them and now the third pallet has come. This pallet has the twenty shades and it still has the cardboard covering but it feels more sturdier than the first two because it has more of the standard pallet look inside minus the magnets all over the place. This pallet has more of the pink and purple shades along with some bronze-like and taupe shades and one black one. I wore it and it felt great on the eyes, but the warning is that these are pretty powdery, so some tapping may be required with brushes. I hope they give out more Coastal Sense stuff because it is a great company to get items from!

Mica Beauty Gel Liner! Next is another eye product and it’s the Mica beauty gel liner in black. I stopped wearing the potted gel liners because not only they can kind of get messy but they started bothering my eyes a bit. That even includes the liquid liners since they do bother a little but the extra step is annoying and I prefer pencils now. I know they are meant for the upper part but it’s hard for me to apply there, that is why I put liquids and gels on the lower line on top of the pencil. I do like Mica beauty items, heck still using the eye primer I got in Ipsy, I won’t be using this and may give it away to Vivi or someone else.

Nio Sheild Texture Spray! Next up another hair product and it’s by Nio Sheild. I never heard of these guys before and it seems interesting, especially this spray or hair oil since it has a pump for that has SPF in it which would help with the scalp from sun damage. Perfect for Florida due to how we are known as the Sunshine State except a friend made a point that we should be the Thunder State due to how bad the weather’s been lately. Anyuway, this is a nice try since I can’t use any make up with SPF due to sensitivity, the hair may be better due to how it is supposed to help with texture and keeps frizz away with the argon oil in it. Perfect yet again! It also has Vitamin B and E5 which is also good. Wish they had this in stores around summer since it will help during this time of year. I will try it out and see how my frizz will be tamed.

So Susan Statement Highlighter Crayon! Yay! Another highlighting product ad another company I never heard of. Like in my many reviews, I like trying out new brands and it’s good to try them out in these subscriptions. This is a chiseled highlighter crayon and it is in the color Moonstone by what I heard from one video who got this. I tried it out and it is very easy to use because it goes on smoothly and easy to put on the cupid’s bow and nose. I think it goes on better than the highlighting pencil I got in Ipsy a few months back, heck this doesn’t need a sharpener since it’s self sharpening. Boxy and Ipsy needs to give out more highlighters after getting this.

Seta Eye Liner Brush! Last and definitely not least, the Seta eye liner brush, which may be useful besides in eye liner. How so? Well, since I started getting my Fairy Tail emblem painted on, it would be nice to get the small details painted a bit. Anyways, this is supposed to give you a nice precise and chiseled line on your lines and even. As said, since not using the gel liners, I would use this for getting any make up detailing for any other work.

Well, that’s it for this month. A better month for BoxyCharm since it did send the Revealed 3 this time and now have all three pallets, which will be showing to Vivi since she wants to check them out. Glad to get a hair product for the summer, wished they gave this out in May due to how hot the sun has been all summer. Then of course Ipsy with the lip and eye pencils, lip gloss, and another hair product. I will give away the gel liner from Mica since I stopped using those. All-in-all, great month and can’t wait what September will bring to these boxes.

What is next up for Nerdy Shique Universe? Convention Impossible with Anime Festival Orlando 2015! Will it be a Convention Acoomplished, Complete, or Aborted? Then I have two videos from two panels and will be starting a new segment known as “Doesn’t Sound the Same” with artists changing their music to fit with the times or just not how they used to be. And of course, forgot, the whole too young for make up thing. Stay tuned for all that!

2015Ipsy and BoxyCharm: July

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Finally got my Ipsy and BoxyCharm in the mail and it’s time to reveal what I got in this month’s bag and box! I was happy about Ipsy the most because not only I gave my buddy Vivi my link to join, since she was interested in joining Ipsy to expand her make up usage and that we do travel with conventions and it’s easy with samples that way, I was happy all in general with the items this month! Boxy, on the other hand, I was surprised by some things but it could’ve been a bit better in my opinion, I do like the service but there are times when you get good items through the sneak peeks and then two of the items that don’t get shown as a random item, is kind of meh or surprised by it. I will start with Ipsy!

Ipsy: This month’s theme was “Summer Lovin’” and it does fit with July due to how it’s the 4th of July and we’re still having a nice summer before school starts for anyone still in school and knowing with next month’s bag, it would probably deal with a schooltime theme again, can’t wait for what that brings since I didn’t start getting my bags until last August! Back to this month’s bag, this month I did give one item to my mom due to what it is used for, let’s see what I got!

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics 2-in-1 Eyeliner and Shadow Pencil: This was a product that I was surprised to get and was pretty intrigued on getting. At first in the first sneak peek, a bronzer was involved along with this, a lipstick I believe and a blush and then this and glad that I didn’t get the bronzer! Whew! Dodged a bullet right there! This is also an item that Vivi wished she got as well because it’s not only a liner pencil but a shadow one as well. When I saw this, I tried seeing what color choices that Ipsters were getting and it didn’t say anywhere until I got it and was told that I got a golden brown/bronze shade. I wouldn’t use this is a shadow since the tip is pretty much a sharp one and I rather use it as a liner anyways. I think this will go good with the Balm Nude Dude shadow I got two months ago. To Jelly Pong Pong, should put shade names on your products, that is the only thing I don’t like is not knowing what name it is to the product.

Teeez Cosmetics Read My Lips Lipstick: Yay! Another lip product in my Ipsy and that is the Read My Lips Lipstick by Teeez Cosmetics! I think I heard of these guys through Ipsy since they appear in this subscription a lot it seems and glad to try them out. The color that everyone got in this product is called “Killing Me Softly” which is a matte coral color. It claims on the page that this lipstick is supposed to hydrate with the coconut oil in it and stay on for eight hours. I am going to wear this for the next few days and see how it feels, I did try it on and man it feels like I am not wearing anything at all due to how light it is. I can’t wait to see he well it goes the next few days!

Crown Brush Professional Tweezers: Yay! Another Crown item! I thought it was a brush at first but when I got to the heading with my screen reader, it was tweezers! I was actually glad that I got tweezers in this month’s bag because I do get brushes and do love them but getting tweezers is another bonus in my book. There are times when you do have that hair that is stubborn to pull out and these will help with that because I tried them out. They are square tipped and man they are sharp! Good to do your brows, get your mustache, and a few chin hairs if any like I do! I think some people on Ipsy Trades were bummed about getting these but I am the only one to say, I am loving these and I hope to get more in the future since they will help when I go off to conventions and I have a unibrow and need to tweez!

Jor’el Parker Clasico Perfume: I was afraid of this product at first until clicked on it and found it was a perfume! Gotta love suspense! Still, good to get another perfume in Ipsy since the last one I got was the No. 1 Perfume Oil a few months back but it was so tiny that it ran out so fast! This on the other hand, it is the same size as my Harvey Prince ones that I got from Ipsy and BoxyCharm in the past. This is a very exoticly sweet smelling perfume that includes Indian Tuber Rose, Turkish Syclamen, and Spanish Mandarin. I smelled this and man it has all three! It has a nice citrus with a hint of the floral and a little spice! You wouldn’t believe that this wouldn’t be found at a Dillard’s perfume counter when you smell this! I did see an Ipster get this on YouTube and they thought it smelled like old lady’s smell but this, to me, kind of feels like you went somewhere in the Caribbean but didn’t leave your room at the same time! I give props to Ipsy including this because I want to get a full-size of this like my Harvey Prince perfume, the Hello one btw!

Pur~Lis Brightening Serum: Alas, my final item and that is the brightening serum by none other Pur~Lis! I gave this to my mom because this is something that is not for my young skin, why is that? It’s for people with age spots and I don’t have them due to my age! I am sorry, but I am not getting into the anti-aging makeup because I don’t need it at this point in time. I may sound like I am ranting a little, need to say it now that this is not a need and I shouldn’t be getting it in my bags. I am glad that it will be used by my mom because she needs it more than I do. When I hit her age, that will be when I will use this stuff but not right now!

That is it for Ipsy! Really good bag this month! Let’s see what Boxy brought me!

BoxyCharm: I am not sure if I can call it another Month of Meh since the products are good but some of them could’ve been a bit better in my opinion.

Flow Mascara: Oh man, when I found out that the first sneak peek was this, I really jumped for joy! I love using mascara and getting some that are higherend in boxes like these make it better because not everyone can afford an Urban Decay one or a Too Faced one! Hell, next month with my birthday, glad will be getting another CK One freebie coupon from Ulta. I was surprised with this one the most! Flow is a company from the UK and they are starting to bring their line to the United States starting the end of this month. This mascara is normally 19 Pounds in UK currency while here…when it is brought over…will be…$35. I know right? This mascara will be costing the same as the price of both of my Meg and Amy statues from Burst Angel, which the each of them were $35 when I found them both at AFO back in 2010 and 2011. This really paid the entire box already because this is something I won’t be purchasing on a regular basis due to how much it costs and hoping it is a good mascara for the price! I am so glad I got this in my box this month and hoping to get more mascaras in the future instead of paying for what they cost, especially this one! I will test it out to see how it goes!

Gorge Cosmetics Conditioning Spray: Yay, hair product! I love receiving these more than getting a bronzer I don’t use or brow powederd so on. Reason being is that my hair has been drying a bit due to how I have been getting dandruff scabs on my scalp and have to use Selsun Blue for it. I do use the R&B and Shine So Bright by Lush, which I got more of recently, then the Cool Way Oil from April or May’s box, and then the Garnier Sleek and Shine Frizzy Hair oil, this one is a nice add on! Since Selsun Blue doesn’t have conditioners, which I wish they did, this is a nice way of replacing that missing element. I did try it out and my hair feels better, but what I didn’t know, I need to use my hands to spread it out through my hair. Whoops! Always next time! I find it funny that this was also available in the Fab Fit Fun Summer box for this year and glad to find it in BoxyCharm!

Versanti Blush Brush: Another brush! Oooohh! I know I got off my brush kick from last month and glad to see that this time it’s one for blush! This is a nylon brush that helps blends bblush in for that natural look. I never heard of Versanti but glad to get their product in my box. Wish they didn’t say apples of your cheeks for blush application. This one is $29 and glad to get it in the box.

Your Minerals Setting Powder: This is something I was surprised to get and wished that it could’ve come in a previous month’s box. I know around this time pores tend to be very annoying due to how much oil we produce. I do have pores I admit, I use a strip for it, not sure if I will use this product since it is transparent and it’s not my color. Don’t know if I should give it away or not since I already use the Almay Clear Complexion Powder and with mineral powders, don’t know how well it will react to my skin since I did use a setting powder by Furgy in Wet N Wild and that broke me out. As said, not my color since it’s medium and I have a lighter to medium skin tone.

Ofra Universal Brow Pencil: Another item by Ofra Cosmetics and not sure I will use either since I use my ELF Essentials Brow and Lash gel. It is the Universal Brow Pencil! I understand that a lot of people love to use brow pencils and I just prefer the gel I use on a regular basis for job interviews. This would’ve been great in a past box as well like in January since that would’ve fit better. I like Ofra’s stuff and wished it was something else rather than this. I wonder if other Charmers got a different item since BoxyCharm does switch items fordifferent boxes.

Wellthat is it for this month! I had mixed tthoughts about Boxy but did like the mascara and the conditioning spray the most! I did like my Ipsy a lot except for the serum, which kjnowing my mom will be trying out. All in all, Boxy should’ve been better with items and hoping August is better since there are hit and misses with this one due to not having that handy quiz to select products. Ipsy, on the other hand, had really good items this month! Knowing that Ipsters will be groaning towards August since last August brought items that were a bit meh and was happy to try, I was sad that my Lord and Berry pencil is gone along with my Perversion Mascara, I wonder what this year’s August bag will bring me! Plus, it is my birth month yet again!

What is next? Waiting on news if Nerdy Shique Universe will be doing AFO 16! They only had the form for one day, which I wish they didn’t, but the guest list is pulling me towards it due to Todd Habercorn, Eric Stuart, even Dante Basco is returning to Orlando for this convention, and of course, Reuben Langdon! And hoping that we do get press that we will bring you an interview with a former power ranger! Just cross your fingers! I really want to do press this year!

So, that is it, til next time!

Ipsy and BoxyCharm Time: March 2015!

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! I’ve been pretty busy lately with job stuff and many other things and even have an announcement towards the end but right now it’s Ipsy and BoxyCharm time! Man, this month made me really happy in both because of how they were doing the the themes and what they put in them, especially with BoxyCharm having better items than last month and ea lot betterthan January! Not all boxes and bags are perfect but March was the better month for Boxy. Let’s start it with Ipsy!

Ipsy: Ipsy’s theme this month is “Floral Fantasy” due to how Spring is this month and it is already here for us in Florida. We even feel more like Summer than Spring to tell ya the truth, even had a 90 degree day in April once. Sorry to anyone who lives in snowy regions, especially around Boston! I was even happy that the bag came early, which came today, Saturday, when it was supposed to be here St. Patrick’s Day but it was kind of weird when I saw the tracking. Last night, I saw it was in my part of town and then it said Orlando and then it appeared in my mailbox this morning, which made it better. I love the bag, it feels like the February bag but bigger, the same size as January’s mostly in my paws and it matches the flower idea with the theme. I am also using it now! Oh yes, this kitty decided to switch bags for this month! I hope next month it will be Easter themed with everyone probably asking about it. Now onto products!

500 Points Item: Jay Cat Beauty Lip Paint in Queen of Hearts! First off is that I finally redeemed some points for a Jay Cat Beauty Lip Paint! That is another great thing about Ipsy is that you get points for reviewing items in bags, the entire bag, and sharing it on Facebook whenever you have a early Glam Room Access and what you’re getting and then review the entire thing at the end for even more points, so you get a lot out of it. It is sometimes a pain because they do expire within a year of getting them and it’s hard to get to a certain range and was glad that I hit 500 points to get something, which some items are 500 or 1000 points. I think the most is 2000 from what I seen. The thing I went for is a full size of one of the Jay Cat Beauty lip paints that everyone received in December’s bag if I remembered correctly and was glad that this was among the products because I had a hard time finding them at my local Ultas. I loved my Mad Splatter and wanted to get more and saw this color, Queen of Hearts, and thought it would be more in the red range since I’ve been getting a lot of red lip products and was right! What is great though, this is a bigger size than the deluxe size from the bags and now I can see how they are in actual sizes. I am hoping I find these at Ulta or get them online because I love the pigmentation of these lip paints and they stay on pretty well! And they do look like watercolor tubes on top of it, can’t wait to wear this!

NYX Butter LipStick in Pops! Next is a major sneak peek item that I got to see and it is by my one of my most fave make up companies and it is NYX! They gave sneak peeks of the butter lipsticks and eye shadows and I was kind of crossing my fingers on the shadows because I love them so! Still loving my Dream Catcher pallets! But I got a butter lipstick and it’s been a while since I picked one up due to how much I loved the butter glosses and how they came out with the intense ones, the High Voltage lipsticks, and the prismatic shadows but getting this was not a loss! I got it in the color Pops which is a corally pink by what I heard from people who got this one. A lot of other Ipsters got Hunk and I liked the purple pink they described and it does come lighter out of the tube but this one I am going to give a try and hoping I can find Hunk in stores.

Cool Way Glow Oil Treatment! An item I’ve heard people get in the past, well more the company items, is by the brand called Cool Way! I am glad to say that I finally got an item by these people and heard how good they are and what I got is the hair oil treatment. Since I have highlighted hair and my curls tend to go crazy, I am glad to receive this. I took a try at it to see how it felt and it feels pretty lightweight and easy to control from the dropper container. I even love the citrusy scent of the oil. This is one item I will be using over and over and might get a full size in the future!

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter! I am confused about this product since I got it in this month’s bag and that is the Ivory Lace Highlighter by Chella. I heard about Chella from past months of videos since Ipsy gets products from them. What confuses me the most is that it is a highlighter and yet a pencil at the same time. According to the page, it says that it can be used to hide blemishes, can be used to highlight the nose, eyes, used on under eye circles, even as eyeliner and a brow bone highlight. When I hear highlighter I think of more of a illuminating powder or cream but not as a pencil. I did hear that Ipsters did get a highlighting powder and I wished I got that over this since I already have an under eye concealer I use from Cover Girl and don’t know what to use it for exactly. Don’t know if I want to swap it either because I heard good things about it. Not sure what to do.

Marsk Mineral Eye Shadow in 50 Shades! This item is something I believe everyone got and that is a mineral eye shadow by a company called Marsk. It sounds weird of a name but it is a make up company originated in London and seems interesting. That is why I love these subscriptions time to time is that I get items from companies I never heard of and remembering on the older format of the site, which that is going to be ranted about, a lot of people hated how they got items they didn’t like but I told them that you’re getting items from companies that haven’t been heard of and Marsk is one of them. I got the eye shadow in 50 Shades, which is a dark grey shadow and it comes in a small container, which is pretty travel friendly. I will probably use one of my small eye shadow brushes for this thing because it is smaller than any of the other shadows I picked up and by what I heard this is full size and to me it’s smaller than that. Even my NYX baked shadows are bigger than this thing. I will give it a try and glad that I got another eye shadow!

Pur~Lise Gental Make Up Remover Cleanser! I never thought Ipsy would carry anything by Pur~Lise since BoxyCharm gave items by them out in the past, which I hated the tattoos to a t! What surprised me this month was that they sent me an item that is perfect for sensitive skin and that is the Gentle Make Up Remover Clenser and it comes in a small tube as a sample. This thing is made with soy milk and it is good for removing make up even mascara, which is good to know. I am willing to try this out and see how it goes because my sensitive skin does go crazy especially when it comes to some items that aren’t meant for it and doesn’t react to others as badly. I know it doesn’t react well with Physicians Formula despite claiming it’s meant for my skin type. This item is something I should take a try and see how it goes. Ipsy, get more items for sensitive skin! I love you so for this!

Final Thoughts:  This month was a really good month despite the Ivory Lace highlighter being in this bag. I don’t get why I got it since I did like the Mana Kadar highlighter from January. The only problem I have with Ipsy is the website since they changed it. It is sad that they took off the message boards for each month and at the same time kind of happy and just left the ones for reviewing  to get points on each product since so many people complain about their bags left and right! Try having so many people saying the same thing over and over, trust me, I was getting tired of explaining the same thing about how great the bag is and now seeing it, not all subscriptions are perfect! Even BoxyCharm is not perfect all the time. The other part of the site I don’t like is that it’s hard for me to review products now! I use a screen reader to navigate all over websites, reading programs, and of course Word and other programs, but don’t know why if the site is formatted not to be friendly with it as it was. I used to be able to review products effectively on the old site and just put comments easily but not now, when I try submitting the review, nothing happens! What is also weird, all the sections of the review are up, even when I click on “Very Likely” on the part where it says “How Likely Will You Purchase This Item?” The sections asking why you wouldn’t purchase it appears and I try ignoring it and give it a positive review, nothing happens at Submit. I may have to try it on my IPad to see if it works better that way because I like the items, well the four, as in the NYX lipstick, the eye shadow, the hair oil, and can’t wait to try out the make up remover, not sure about the highlighter, and don’t want to make Ipsy think that I hate them all and have my bag crafted sloppily. I hope it gets fixed because this newer version of the website is not working as it did before. Now onto BoxyCharm!

BoxyCharm

It finally came in the mail, which this part is written days later. I know I should’ve waited but before Boxy and Ipsy came at the same time or a day after each other like with December and January but this month, not so much. It’s Thursday while writing this part. I was so excited about this month’s box with the sneak peeks because it is better than, scratch that, it’s way better than January’s box and February was okay for me. I did trade the Mistura Complexion Corrector for the other Model Co. blush color that Ipsy had last month in Cosmopolitan but didn’t arrive yet, still waiting for that to be delivered.

This month’s theme is Lucky Charm and makes sense with St. Patrick’s Day and man this was a lucky box! Plus, even luckier that I got my450 Charms for being a member for three months already, which makes the points better and did trade that in for something but won’t get it until next month’s box. Let’s see what I got!

Oscar Blondie Dry Shampoo! First item in the box is a dry shampoo by Oscar Blondie and to tell you guys something, this is the very FIRST dry shampoo I ever got in a subscription! I never received any, especially the one that Ipsy did and repeated from August and I thought I marked I loved dry shampoo. I am still using my Garnier Fructis volume one and got a new can recently. I may have to take a try in between to see how this goes. It is also travel size which is awesome! I heard this retails for $16 from videos that got this and if not, there was a mousse for other charmers. That is what I like about this box is that not only they send same items for everyone but they do alternate between items. Such as the Eva.NYC items from December and the Jing Ai lip tint from last month with the colors and this month you either got the Oscar Blondie volumnizing thickening mousse or the dry shampoo and was happy to get the dry shampoo and was crossing my fingers on it and was glad to get it!

PreviseSkin Tonic for Skin Types 1 To 6! Next was the first item that was a sneak peek and that is the skin tonic by a brand I never heard of and it’s called Previse. One other thing about subscriptions I do like is the brands I never heard of and this is one I definitely never heard of until it got a sneak peek. This retails for $48 and it is full size, which makes it even better because I tend not to spend around that much on skin care. I think the most I spend is $22 and that is my Celestial moisturizer by Lush Cosmetics due to it being for sensitive skin and you can really get sensitive skin items from higher end parts. I did ask if this was good for my skin type and someone replied to my post on the Boxy Facebook and said according to Previse’s site it is meant for sensitive skin, so will try it out and hoping it doesn’t irritate my skin despite it being all natural, perebin free and petroleum free and that sounds more up my alley with skin care. It would be interesting by next month if we can use charms on it like with the Mullain and Sparrow mask, which I almost did that but went for another item. I will see how this tonic works, if not, may swap or just give it away like my Marikuja oil from January.

Ofra Eye/Lip Liner in Black! Next is a product by Ofra Cosmetics and it is an eye liner that can also be used on the lips and got the black one! This is another product that didn’t get a sneak peek like the Oscar Blondie items and like that, Charmers got different colors and I got mine in black! I have a lot of black liners and you can’t go wrong with one, especially when you get it in a subscription like Ipsy or Boxy and by a company I used before. If you remembered, I did get the Ofra eye shadow set from Ipsy in November and loved how pigmented those shadows were and glad to get this in this month’s box with everyone else because I started warming up to Ofra and was wondering when they will have more items by them since Boxy gave out other Ofra items in the past. This was a repeat according to a video but it looks new to me. Thank you Boxy!

LVX nail polish in Mint! ::happy nyuing all around:: I wanted this shade ever since it was announced over Facebook and that is the newer pastel polishes by LVX and whoever gets one gets one between a lemon yellow, a mint green, and a coral pink and guess what? My wish came true and I got Mint by LVX! I don’t wear yellow polish since I do have Werewolf Eyes by Wet N Wild from Halloween a while back, the coral did sound nice from people who had it but the mint woulbe perfect since I tried out a mint polish a while back, I believe it was I need a Refreshmint by WNW and it went perfect with my skin. I will try this polish out for a nice go! Thank you Boxy!

Tart Lip Surgence in Charmed! The final product of the box is a Tart product that I was very very very happy about and that is their Lip Surgence lip tint in Charmed! They announced this on Facebook and it was perfect for the theme and this normally is $24 at Ulta and Sephora and of course on Tart’s website, which Tart gave everyone another 20% off coupon, which I did try using my January one and weird thing is that you would be paying the same price full price after shipping which I didn’t bother. Hey, at least I get to try out something I do use and that is a lip item. I heard so many good things about these and the Melted LipSticks and never got one since I do tend to go to Ulta a lot but I am a drugstore product person most of the time. With Charmed, it is a light pink lip tint and it smells very minty and I did touch it a little and I find it very cooling to the touch! I may have to use this next week! I am really glad to get this and able to use it and this is my second item trying out by Tart since I still have the Lights Camera Lashes mascara samples from Ipsy, the one I got in my bag and the other I traded a pair of lashes for.

That is it for BoxyCharm and to me it was more worth it this month than the last two months, it felt like how December was minus the lashes, as in the brush, the hair oil, lip gloss which I used up, and eye shadow pallet and this one I got another nail polish which I love nail polishes, a lip tint, a skin tonic, an eye/lip pencil, and dry shampoo. That is amazing for one box! BoxyCharm needs to keep this going because there are times that I can’t use some items because I don’t use them and other times I do like to try new things. I can’t wait for April’s box and Ipsy!

Announcements:  So, now that is done, time for announcements! One major announcement is that we did get press for Omni Expo 2015: Attack on Omni! (That was the theme they went by at MythiCon) and I am so happy because there are so many guests I want to interview and waiting on updates as the event gets closer. I am hoping that there will be a room to interview in this year because last year so many people came up and didn’t know I was interviewing guests and also working on a new Pokemon cosplay and gathering two more parts. And speaking of interviews, will be bringing you an interview with Soul Switch which will be on YouTube after the first weekend of April! Yay! If you haven’t caught my review post on the music video they did, check it out and the video as well! That is it for now!

Ipsy Time: November 2014 + Ipsy Me Offer!

Hello Shiquers and welcome back to Nerdy Shique Universe! Guess what time is it? It’s Ipsy time! So, I am back from Daytona and this is my bag for November! I did get it through the mail last weekend but since I was not at home and on the coast couldn’t do the review and see what’s in it! I am glad to be home and got it! Let’s see what I got!

Theme: Girl Meets Glitter! This month’s theme is “Girl Meets Glitter!” I feel as though this month’s theme should’ve been next month’s theme because that is when glitter tends to come in play with the holidays but hey, not bad of a theme. I would have a feeling that the December theme would have a nice theme to it due to Christmas, Kwanzaa, and Channakah.

The Bag! The bag is how a lot of video bloggers talked about in how it is plastic with the glitter inside the plastic, which is really nice and you don’t have it flying all over! Kind of like when I went to Spirit for my first time one Halloween time. Apparently Ipsy collaborated with Forever 21 to make this bag and I like it! I even like how soft the bag is ionthe inside! Lovin’ it!

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye! Item number 1 is something I gave to my mom and that is the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer! I do have bags but it is mostly anti-aging items and don’t tend to use them. I did hear IT cosmetics is a really good brand and that their concealer is also pretty good! A full size of this at Ulta retails $24 but knowing that my mom may like it she may get the full size!

Marc Anthony Oil of Morrocco Argon Oil Hairspray! Man! That was a mouthful! Anyways, this something I was happy about and that’s the Marc Anthony Argon oil hairspray! I started using the Suave Professionals Morroccon infused shampoo and conditioner and loved that stuff a lot and I did hear a lot of Ipsters received this in their bag! I am glad that I did too and it gives me a way of trying out hairsprays that won’t hurt my hair and it is with argon oil and carotene on top of it! The size is pretty nice to be in the bag. I can’t wait to use this and also take it back with me to Daytona. I know this hairspray is like $8, close to the price of an Aveeno dry shampoo and plus I am an Ulta and Walgreens, which I heard they sold this, member. I will see how this works. And I believe this is also made by the singer!

Star Lux Gem Eye Pencil in Ultra Olive! Finally I get to try Star Lux! I never got the lip gloss last month by them and I did try trading for the Obsidian pencil from someone but somehow they said we weren’t a match. Ticked off by that thank you! I am so glad I get to try a product by them and it is the gem pencil in Ultra Olive! I noticed a lot of Ipsters got this one and not the purple one. I wouldn’t mind for the purple but this one would look nice with my Esmeralda eye shadow I traded for last month. They weren’t kidding when the packaging is hard to open like the envelope that the bag came in! Ipsy, did you send us that thing in that envelope because of the bulk of the items this time around!? It is pretty smooth when you do apply! Okay, I hope they send me more Star Lux items because Mari Blue Cat is definitely curious!

CRX Anti Aging Lotion! Okay, I got something by a company I never heard of and they are known as CRX and looking at the Ipsy page for them looks like they use natural ingredients! If you guys got any of the two items you would either get the expoliant for the body and face or the birch sap lotion which is also for the body and face! I got the lotion which I wanted it to be that since I can use it on my knees and hands because of how I read braille and it does cause my hands to get dry and I do have ashy knees. I hope this stuff works, I do like the body butter, which I have not used since I got it, it’s in my room in Daytona so I can use this until I get back.

J Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint in Mad Splatter! I never heard of Jay Cat until Eleventh Gorgeous got products by them in Ipsy and it’s good to be a part of Ipsy because I get to finally try them out! I got the color in Mad Splatter which is a pretty dark color according to people but hey at least I like the vampy lip! I do like how the packaging is a paint tube because Hot Topic did package their War Paint lip stuff that way along with some glitter gels they had. I can’t wait to wear this to try it out.

Overall: This month’s bag was pretty good! I know I would probably use the concealer but I thought my mom would use it more than I would and it was worth getting it so she can try something new. She did get some of my Ulta samples last time. I also did give her the hair mask from the September bag, I hope she used that thing. I was really happy overall! I mean I got the hair spray which let’s me try out something good, the eye pencil from Star Lux which I was curious in that company, the Jay Cat lip paint, which I never tried and I heard they are similar to OCC Lip Tars, which I never tried, and the Birch Sap lotion by CRX which I did put on my hands and knees and it has a nice cooling effect! This is an awesome thing!

Bonus: Ipsy Me Offer of the Ofra eye shadow pallet! I did end up getting something in the Ipsy Me page and that is an eye shadow pallet by Ofra! I never heard of Ofra cosmetics until Ipsy had an offer on their eye shadow pallet, well one of them and it includes twenty shades. It did say in the offer that they are also cream shadows and to me they feel more powdery than creamy. The brand is pretty much a skin care and beauty brand which is pretty high end! This pallet would normally cost $79 and Ipsy offered it for $28 and I was glad to get it! This is a nice magnetic pallet with a mirror and it is pretty nice. I never thought I would get something high end again outside of an Ipsy bag and thought it would be worth it after getting it with free shipping! I wanted to do a video on this but since my trip from Daytona tired me out, I’d rather write a little bit about it. And also for reading this, you guys get a code for 40% off your entire purchase on ofracosmetics.com and the code is ipsyme40 and just enter it at Check Out! The offer ends on December 8th by the way! Forgot to mention, the shadows can be placed in another magnetic pallet if you want since you can pop these out!

Well, that is it! This month’s bag was a good one and I hope next month’s bag comes as good as this one! And of course, if you haven’t joined Ipsy! You can go to their website and it only costs $10 a month and you get items from a lot of high end, online, and drugstore companies! Also, youget the Ipsy Me offer alerts in e-mails because you can’t get offers like these anywhere!

What is next!? My first spotlight on Omni Expo 2015! And of course, my faves for November and December next month, and wrap up 2014 with my Bests and Worsts of the year! Stay tuned for all that!
