Hello to all of you nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new post!

Glam Bag Plus August 2020

I am back with a new post and it is with my Glam Bag Plus for August! It arrived early this month and was glad to get it in time for my birthday. They have changed it up besides the price which is $25 a month and you get full size items from prestige and luxury brands. They are now having people choose three out of the five items in their bag and get a bigger bag to fit everything in. I am happy about the bigger bag because for months they have been smaller than the regular Glam Bag when the Ultimate bag was bigger. I don’t get why they had to make them smaller when the Glam Bags are already small. I did like how it was a draw string bag which made it a little bit more padded during the travel and no one can break into the envelope as easily since it came in one. While the selecting items, I think they should have saved it for Ultimate because I have seen people’s videos where they don’t like the Ultimate as much due to the selection being not as great. They should keep the one item selection and how it works with GB Plus is that on the first of every month they show you your first two items they’ve selected and then you get to choose from three groups of items and only one in that group and once that’s done they allow you to do add-ons and move on from there and then they put your bag together and ship it. Let’s see what I got!

Huda Beauty Demi Matte Cream Lipstick in Lady Boss: First item that was chosen for me is from Huda Beauty and it is her Cream Lipstick in Lady Boss. It’s been a while since I have received any Huda products in my Glam Bags and glad to get this one this month. I have been having major dryness with my lips lately and trying to treat them with a Vaseline Lip Treatment. This is a vivid berry color that lasts a long time. I test to that because I do have shades from Huda Beauty, and they last a long time even while I’m teaching someone it stays. I am happy to try something new from this brand and hoping to continue in doing so.

Beauty for Real Shadow STX 24/7 Shadow Duo in Midnight Marathon + Ever Star Struck: Next is anew item from Beauty for Real and it’s their Shadow STX. I find these interesting because I remembered getting a Trestique shadow crayon years ago except it broke all the time so hoping this doesn’t happen since it is one of those self-sharpening ones.MidMidnight Marathon is a reflective topaz while Ever Star Struck is a champagne shade and these glide on without any brushes or techniques. I have to give these a try and see how they go and glad Ipsy chose these for me to try.

Love Craft Beauty Highlighter Duo in Aurora + Borealis: Next is my first-choice item and that is from Love Craft Beauty. I have tried a few products from this brand enjoyed them so far and when I saw this as a choice I decided to choose since it spoke out to me. This is a subtle highlighting duo for anyone who doesn’t want to sparkle so much. You have one that is golden and the other pinker which you can wear either one or together to get that subtle glow and it’s finely milled to give off that subtlety. I do love my high impact highlighters but other times I do enjoy the subtle ones to give me that slight glow even in my pictures when I have my bright lights glowing. I will be trying this out at some point to see how it looks.

Murad Renewing Eye Cream: Next is my second choice and that is from Murad. You already know that I am a fan of this brand and getting them from the subscriptions is better since I can try them to see how I feel and then see if the item will be in 21 Days of Beauty which with this brand is better going that route than paying full price. In the second group with this item, however, I felt that they were not good choices besides this one and that got me to choose this eye cream and feel like it’s a good choice due to my early mornings since my eyes can be puffy. This product is made for that since it can soothe and moisturize around the eye area and uses really good ingredients to do so. You have to watch out since this does cost $82 normally. Ow! I may wait for the 21 Days of Beauty for this if it does work out for me.

Laura Gellar Kajal Long Wearing Eyeliner in Gilded Bronze: Final item is an eyeliner and I was happy to see this among my choices! As you know I have been bored with black eyeliners and wanted something different and when I saw this it answered my complaints! It is from Laura Gellar and it’s a bronze eyeliner which I was wanting for a long time! This is a long wearing cream formula that has a bronze sparkle and of course has Vitamin E in this formula too. I am glad that this is long wearing since there are times where my eyes do water due to allergies and sometimes, I worry my liner would run even during a rainstorm if I am wearing makeup. This also has a sharp point which also has a sharpener built into it. I can’t wait to use this with my bronze shadows since I have a ton of them, heck my shadow in my No Make No Life box came in bronze and can’t wait to pair this with that.

Add-Ons: I did get two add-ons this month and they are the Tony Moley Aloe Soothing Eye Serum and the Laruce Face Set! I love Tony Moley and I did almost get their Panda Dream Eye item during the Fabulous sale at Ulta, but this caught my ear more because of how much aloe has been helping my skin in the moisture department. Plus, this would help with my puffiness underneath my eyes since I do wake up early during the week when I went into the office and glad, I picked this up for $3. I loved the Laruce brush set I’ve gotten in my GB Plus I think a few months ago or was it last year but these brushes are amazing and glad to see they had a set of face brushes up for one of the groups in the choice area but I did redeem myself by buying this as an add-on. That is a bonus to buy the item you didn’t get if it’s choice or not.

Well guys that completes this post! The three-item choice is not too bad but wishing they had it for Ultimate since that bag seems to have a few issues, but it does give me an idea of what I would like. I am not going to lie with the eyeliner since that was a breath of fresh air but if I hadn’t chosen that they would have given me black again. I hope they keep getting more colors in eyeliners as time goes on. I am still going through other under eye treatments at the moment but glad to get the one from Murad to try out since they’re really pricey! I’m happy with the make up items since I want to see how well the shadow sticks would work, the highlighter duo as well, and glad to get more Huda Beauty. I can’t wait to see what September holds in choices once the first arrives. I am waiting on my BoxyCharm and Ipsy for this month so stay tuned!

Skin Care Quadrant: The One Pack One Day Sheet Mask Try On!

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I have a different post before my Subscription Review Round Up!

Trying Out Sheet Masks for Seven Days!

I wanted to write my experience with this and that is using sheet masks every day for one week. No this was not a challenge from anyone it was basically something I read in Allure Magazine.

I tend to get emails from Allure with articles that are interesting and sometimes kind of weird but I do tap on the more interesting ones that caught my kitty curiosity and one in particular that was recent during my time at home was about using sheet masks for an entire week. The article was about how a K Pop performer gets her skin looking good before performances by putting a sheet mask on every day for a month to keep her skin dewy and even a Read It person from Korea has done the same thing. This got Allure to ask dermatologists about it and they said its fine but watch out for certain ingredients which is a bit of a big thing here in the states where everyone has different skin types that can’t take all of the harsh ingredients. One of these ingredients is glycolic acid and along with other exfoliating ingredients it can cause irritation. I remembered my masks mainly contained the hyrolonic acid I tend to hear about here and there and you already know I have a ton of sheet masks in my disposal. So, I decided to try out the One Day One Pack last week!

Sunday: Sunday I was using one of my purple broccoli masks I got in a duo pack from Ipsy, most of these masks did come from Ipsy Offers and it was a nice start. As you guys know I go through dry and sensitive skin and this hasn’t bothered my skin at all. It did give nice hydration after taking it off and felt fine. In the article it did say if you have sensitive skin it would help out so after reading this article it did have me start after this mask.
Monday: Monday and Tuesday was a back to back with this brand that is with Rael Beauty. I got two different ones and they are bamboo masks and the one I used for this day was the Hydrating Masks that has pineapple extracts in it. I was glad to have this one since I can get a little bit on the drier side near my T-Zone and this one has a really nice scent to it. Plus I don’t feel the mask on either.
Tuesday: After using the Rael Hydration Mask I used the Purifying Mask. I felt that I had to use these two up since I felt I had these a bit longer than most of the ones I already have and I tend to reach these a lot but they are meant for more oily skin people which I did feel a slight irritation with this one. This has Tea Tree Oil so that is why it felt a little irritating on the skin. I haven’t felt it much when I first started using these. I think I have one more to use or maybe more than that and just have one more of the Hydrating ones.
Wednesday: I ended up getting my Ipsy Offer that had stuff for skin and one item for hair which I will be using the hair wrap for my hair wash nights thank you! The bundle came with one sheet mask and it’s from Naisture and it’s their Lovely Strawberry Mask which helps balance oil and moisture with ascorbic acids to keep skin healthy. It did help my skin with some moisture but most of the time while having it on though it felt like it dried a bit too fast since I don’t put it for fifteen minutes I do twenty to thirty for a better experience. I also noticed it didn’t really smell like strawberry either. As in it had no scent to it really, it was just a moisturizing mask. I think I have other masks from this brand since I have so many masks from Ipsy and have bought so many of them last year but this one is not a re-purchase or maybe they sent me one that was probably bottom of the barrel. Wait a second! I checked online for this one and it apparently is meant for oily and combination skin, I can see why it didn’t help much! Wishing that it was a different mask because this one didn’t help much except with a slight moisture.
Thursday: I finally opened my other 7 Days Mask Set because I finished a box of these I think two weeks earlier. I got these towards the end of 2019 I believe and they feel so good on the skin! They have different ones and the one I used on this night was the avocado mask and it does smell like if you juiced an avocado! I love avocados even as guacamole and it is really good for the skin and hair. Heck, Lush did make a bath bomb with the extracts for this fruit. It did moisturize my skin a lot more than the Naisture Strawberry one from Wednesday and it was very cooling too. Glad I got to open these after a bit!
Friday: Friday was a new one that I purchased and that is from Purlisse. As you know I am a fan of Jennifer Yen’s skin care brand due to how it helps sensitive skin people due to how she has the same skin type and that heavy stage makeup, especially on Light Speed Rescue, caused her skin to break out horribly and she started using her grandmother’s skin remedies and green tea is one of those! I picked up from Ipsy a bundle that has six green tea masks and the green tea face primer for makeup and glad to try this sheet mask because I wanted to try them after purchasing them. All I have to say is that this mask feels so good! I felt like I wasn’t wearing a mask with this one since it felt very light. Also it did smell like green tea you tend to get at an Asian market. As in actual tea! Also it did do what it was supposed to do by moisturizing my face and felt plump. If you have sensitive skin like me and need a brand, I would suggest trying these masks. I have to see their prices because this brand can be a bit pricey so I would say get the discounts on Ipsy’s website.
Saturday: the last one is the Tony Moley I Am Real Green Tea Sheet Mask! I know having another green tea one after the Purlisse mask was weird but it was the first one that came out of a huge zip lock bag where I put a lot of loose masks in my cabinet. This is a layering mask whereat has little patches to put in some areas and then place the actual mask on top. I did put two of the patches on my under eyes and then the actual mask. It does feel soothing and moisturizing and very cooling. Great thing is that you can put these into the refrigerator for extra cooling effects. I am waiting on a cactus one to try out since that has prickly pear extract.

Thoughts: After using these masks it was a way of trying out different formulas of masks to get a feeling of how my skin would feel. The Naisture mask in Lovely Strawberry did some moisturizing but not by much. It did dry up a bit quickly and wishing this one did a bit more to my skin except it was meant for oily skin. I did enjoy the Rael Hydrating mask, the Purlisse Green Tea, the Tony Moley Green Tea, and the Purple Broccoli ones while the Rael Purifying was a little irritating.

I do have to say is that this experience was interesting because I never thought wearing a mask every day for a month would help skin become dewy and of course no more break outs with zits. I have sensitive skin so my skin reacts differently depending on what gets used on it. I will be taking a break from masks this week because I feel that it did help with some moisture but I can’t do this all the time. Yes, it’s important to take care of the skin but you also have to be careful with ingredients and what makes the skin happy and mad. So, I will have my skin calm down and have it rest until next Sunday.

That is about it guys! If you want to do this week with sheet masks go on ahead and see how it reacts with your skin because some people tend to react to different masks in different ways. I will be back with the subscription round up, don’t worry! Until next time! Stay beautiful!

Favorites Quadrant: First Quarter 2020

Hello to all of you beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another post!

First Quarter Favorites 2020!

It’s time for the first quarter favorites. As you probably have seen at the end of last year that I was going to do quarterly favorites instead of bi-monthly favorites this year. It’s kind of stressful and easier to talk about my favorites and what I’ve been using and what I think! Let’s get into it!

Not-So-Favorite: E. L. F. Putty Eye Shadow Primer: First is not much of a fave because it sucked! The E. L. F. Putty Eye Primer was it this time around! For a little while now I’ve been using the Poreless Putty Primer which I got in my final Allure Beauty Box and remembered how Jeffree Starr said this was approved by him and everyone bought it out everywhere as in everywhere sold out until now which you can buy again. I was able to find it at my local Target which was good. When I saw that they have an eye shadow primer I decided to pick it up and when I used it it was not my favorite. It was so dry I was afraid that my shadow was not showing. I even asked the Collective Brain at What’s up in Makeup and people experienced the same thing except the rose one. I did not go further to try this because I was so done with it and I have tried better eye primers, heck the Lorac one that came with their Pro Pallets is better than this one. I would say use your favorite eye primer guys because this was not worth it!

Favorite Moisturizer: Tony Moley Choc Choc Green Tea moisturizer: Next is from Tony Moley and have been enjoying what I’ve been using from them and this is one of them and that is their Choc Choc Green Tea Moisturizer. I use this at night to keep my face moisturized even before putting on my makeup and this feels really cooling to the skin. I was hoping to use the smaller tube I got in a bundle from Ipsy which I got Green Tea Sheet Masks, this and the the hand cream and like I said hoped to use it during Omni but with what’s going on in the world I have it with my daily makeup case. I will definitely buy this again since it doesn’t cost too much, it is almost the same price as Celestial from Lush except I get more moisture from this and green tea does have a lot of skin benefits.
Second Favorite Moisturizer: Murad Essential C Moisturizer! Another favorite is the Murad Essential C Moisturizer and glad to try it all thanks to GB Plus. I am glad that I’m getting to try out Murad all thanks to them and glad that 21 Days of Beauty put Murad on sale and this was one of the items on sale during this past one for half off and to tell you the truth is that this is the first SPF item I enjoy. As you know I have sensitive skin and sometimes SPF infused skin care and makeup doesn’t work out for me. First time this happened was with the Paula’s Choice Moisturizer with SPF 20 from my Ipsy August 2014 and my skin even hated the IT Cosmetics CC Cream I tried later due to the SPF. I was worried that it would do the same with this one and I decided to try it without makeup on top and it worked out and then the next day for work I had it underneath makeup and no break outs! It helps that this brand is meant for sensitive skin types like me and I can see why Grav3yard Girl loves this brand and I am enjoying it since I did get another tube of their AHA & BHA Cleanser I also tried all thanks to GB Plus and it was also on sale during 21 Days. I hope the Water Gel is in the next one which I say if you are curious to try Murad after what I have tried wait for the 21 Days of Beauty sale because it goes half off during that time at Ulta because this brand is very pricey even was surprised that this moisturizer is $60. Ow! Again wait for the 21 Days of Beauty for Murad’s sales.

Favorite Cleanser: Tony Moley Foaming Peach Cleanser! Next is a cleanser and that is from Tony Moley again but this time it’s their Peach Foaming Cleanser from their peach line! This fits the claims because it is really gentle on the skin, it foams and feels as good on the skin as it does and it smells amazing! I have tried the Peach Cleansing Sherbet but it is not as good as the Foaming Cleanser. I will definitely keep on buying this even on sale since I did go through the President’s Day special where it was Buy One Get One Half Off I believe but it was worth it and will keep me stocked. So far so good Tony Moley has been great on my skin and they are really sensitive skin friendly!

Favorite Body Scrub: HEMPZ Herbal Body Scrub! Next is a body scrub which is a first. Since the end of last year my legs have been dry and itchy for a long while and even developed scaly bits on my legs. I tried everything even layering body lotions until this popped up in one of my Ulta emails and that is that HEMPZ had new items including an herbal body scrub and had to try it. I noticed it because I was getting a coffee body scrub in GB Plus and figured it would help with my legs and it is helping out. My skin is losing some of the dryness at a slow rate but it is helping as time goes on. Skin care doesn’t work overnight so at least it is helping getting the scales off and I am not itchy anymore which is good. Yay! Will keep on using though.

Favorite Face Primer: E. L. F. Poreless Putty Primer! Like I mentioned above I’ve been using the E. L. F. Poreless Putty Face Primer lately. I’ve been enjoying the creaminess and how much my makeup stays on top. It does have a hard application with my Cover Girl Clean Makeup since I have to wet my sponge to spread it all over a bit more to get a better application. I don’t get why this product is creamier than the Putty Eye Primer? Okay E. L. F., whatever you did with this primer with the creamy consistency add it to the eye version because it needs it!

Favorite New Mascara: Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara! Lately I’ve been wearing more mascara to work because I became allergic to my Holy Grail Lash Gel and Brow Gel duo from E. L. F. the past couple of months and then switched to lash primers and mascaras which has been helping with application and not causing me any adverse effects. I am still trying out lash primers to see how they go but the mascara I’ve been enjoying is the Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara. This makes my lashes look amazing every time I wear it to work. I even worn it when I just put makeup at home. I miss wearing stuff from Flower Beauty and should keep on using this brand.

Favorite Face Pallet: Wonder Beauty Trip for Two Blush & Bronzer Duo! Next up is the Trip Two from Wonder Beauty. There are times where I reach for this and use it since it is easy to use. The bronzer is on the right and the blush is on the left and just dip brushes in and it’s good enough to travel with due to how small it is. Glad that I got this in one of my subscriptions because it’s easy to reach when I want to use one face pallet for my looks.

Favorite Highlighter: Colour Pop Stick in Peach! Last makeup item goes to the Color Pop Highlighter Sticks in Peach. When I was looking for a peach highlighter I found this one and found it amazing! Not only that when I wore it back in December to a party a friend did comment how my skin looked with this on. It is amazing and very smooth to get onto the cheeks. At first it was a bit rough but now it’s easier to get on. I hope this doesn’t get discontinued by Color Pop because it’s a good product and I enjoy it!

Favorite Book Series Thus Far: Playful Brides Series by Valerie Bowman! One of the books I’ve been reading leading up to the one I need to review is in the series called the Playful Brides. It’s a historical fiction series and I’ve been enjoying what I’ve been reading so far. It’s cute and the girls like Lucy, Cassandra, and now Jane are enjoyable. I am on book three where Jane is having her time to shine and it’s cute so far since she wants to be a spinster but she’s getting involved with a scandal. I have to keep on reading and don’t worry I will reach the book I need to review soon!

Favorite Song: “About a Voyage” by Sayori! I’ve been getting this song stuck in my head ever since Season 4 of My Hero Academia was being dubbed and it’s called “About a Voyage.” It’s very catchy and the funny thing is that the opening bars sound so innocent but when it starts that’s when it changes to an all-out rock song! I did download it and it’s on my phone and do play it when it gets in my head. Got to love how anime gets the catchiest songs!

Favorite Clothes Item: My Hero Academia Chibi Skater Skirt and United States of Smash Tour Long-Sleeved Shirt! Speaking of My Hero Academia! I do love this outfit and that is my chibi character skirt and my United States of Smash Tour shirt of All Might and the states that had smashes he has done. I even worn it to the second movie premiere back in February. This is what happens when I become a major fan of a series.
So guys that ends this favorites post! I think I prefer doing this because it gives me more time to try more things and bring it back to you guys in this post! I hope you all enjoyed it and can’t wait to bring new things to the next Quarterly Favorites in August! I should be getting my GB Plus Tuesday so stay tuned!
