The Subscription Satelite: Ipsy Glam Bag February 2020!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! Time for my last subscription post for this month!

Ipsy Glam Bag February 2020!

So, this bag came the day after my previous two boxes did and like with GB Plus, you get five deluxe and sometimes full size products in this bag and it’s also from prestige to luxury and sometimes indie and drugstore for $12 a month!

Colored Rain Liquid Lipstick in 24/7: First up is a product from Colored Rain Cosmetics and it’s their liquid lipstick in 24/7. I remembered how Nikkie Tutorials said that these lipsticks are amazing and agree with her! These lipsticks hardly budge and they stay on for a long time. This is a rosy nude color which is perfect shade for work and I don’t have to worry about re-applying since I do teach and it would stay on even when I have water. I’m glad to try this formula since I wanted to after seeing them at Riley Rose when they existed a little while back. Oh well! Hope to get more of these in future bags!
IT Cosmetics: Primer + Oil: I am going to stop at this since it has a long name. Why do brands give items really long names I don’t know! Anyways, this is the first item I finished in my bag because this tube was TINY! I am not kidding. I thought this was the hand cream which I will talk about later but had Seeing A. I. tell me with the Short Text Channel that this tiny tube was the primer. I wish it was bigger because the bag was the same size as the GB Plus Bag and would be perfect to get a primer the same size as the hand cream. I did use it and found it pretty tacky not going to lie and had to wet my sponge to blend my foundation. I found it did keep my makeup on but didn’t feel anything else special with this one. Not my favorite item to try but it did help in keeping my makeup on.
The Beauty Crop Fine apple Powder Brush: Next up is a powder brush by Beauty Crop! I’m glad to get a powder brush from these guys since there are times I need a quick powder brush in front of me without leaving my vanity. It’s really nice and soft and decently sized for what they’ve sent me. Nice change from all the eye brushes I’ve received.
Petal to the Metal in Shift to Overdrive, Turbo: Next is my choice item in this bag and that’s The Balm’s Petal to the Metal shadow in Shift to Overdrive, Turbo. It’s a cream shadow in a rose gold with silver sparkle and you know I love rose gold and when I saw this as a choice I snatched it! When I got it it looked different from what I imagined. When I think cream shadow I think to a small screw topped container but nope! This came in the signature Balm sampler packaging as in those tiny books! It’s decently size but I feel it is a bit dry. I wished they put it in a container because cream products even shadows do dry up. I’m sorry if I sound negative but that’s my only issue with this. I will try and use it as usual.
Merci Handy Hand Cream in Hello Sunshine: Final item is a new brand I never heard of called Merci Handy and glad to try these guys and it’s a hand cream which is a bonus. My hands do get dry even due to the hand soap at work so this will be great to use. This hand cream has almond oil and it contains little emollient beads to help with the extra moisture which I can’t wait to try this out. Apparently it also has a citrus smell. I will have to see how it goes!

I found this bag kind of okay because of the primer being okay and the Balm cream shadow being in a different packaging than I hoped. I hope I can use it on my eyes at some point in time. I wasn’t totally disappointed because I did get two add-ons which happened to be the Violet Voss Berry Burst pallet which is the Fun Size ones which made me happy. And of course I got another Pharmacy Green Clean because I loved it and hasn’t broken me out either. Helps with the makeup cleaning a lot! I did enjoy the lipstick though and excited about the hand cream and brush. I think the items in GB Plus had a bit more oomph and hoping March to be better since next month they’re celebrating their hundredth bag which can’t wait to see what’s in store for that one! What’s next for Nerdy Shique Universe? Another RangerStop Panel! Stay tuned for that. Also announcement! I will be reviewing Traverser’s new album on Nerdy Shique Transmissions instead because I feel better if I do that live rather than just writing about it so stay tuned for that! So keep an eye out on all major platforms where you get podcasts! Until then guys, stay beautiful while traveling the vast universe!

The Subscription Satelite: Ipsy Glam Bag Plus February 2020!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another subscription post!

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus February 2020!

I got my GB Plus the same day as my BoxyCharm and figured to do this one next and save the Glam Bag for last since that came in the next day. This is the second tier in Ipsy where it costs $25 a month and you get more full size items from more high end and luxury brands in beauty and skin care. You also can get some brush sets and tools in this one too. I prefer this one out of the higher tiers because I am able to use items that keep my makeup collection in check on both sides and can try something new whether it’s from a brand I heard of or not. Let’s see what I got!

Murad Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30: Damn that was a long name! Come on brands make it simple with your product names. I don’t get why they have to be this long. Anyways! I have tried out Murad with their AHA BHA Expholiator and loved it and on my second tube that I got through the major holiday box I bought back in last November of so many items including that and with this I am kind of worried. You will see why. This item is a day moisturizer but is also a moisturizer with SPF in it it’s light and perfect for all skin types. I am afraid of the SPF in this product because I tend to break out from anything containing this ingredient. Yes, I know I live in Florida but my skin is sensitive. My very first item I ever tried with this ingredient was when I got my very first Ipsy Glam Bag and it had a Paula’s Choice product with SPF and my skin couldn’t take it and I broke out, even broke out when I got a IT Cosmetics CC Cream and used it in Miami and my skin broke out because of the SPF in that one too. I know skin care has come a long way and Murad is known for being friendly to people with sensitive skin so I will take a try at this once I get through my other moisturizers since I’m almost done with one of them due to accidentally dropping it and got it all over my smock and have one other. So, will have to see how this goes but will mark I don’t like items with SPF in it. This item does retail for $65!
Laruce Essentials Brush Set: Next is my choice item and that is from Laruce and it’s their Essentials Brush Set. I chose this because I kind of felt like I was going to get one of the other products in this month’s box and I do love brushes. This is a five brush set that are made with synthetic bristles and are vegan and cruelty free. This set comes with a contour brush, a blush brush, and three eye brushes which is pretty good and the handles are different from the ones I am used to. This set retails for $154.
Dominique Cosmetics Sweater Weather Pallet: Next is Dominique Cosmetics and it’s the Sweater Weather Pallet! I had a feeling I was going to get this pallet and glad I didn’t choose it. This pallet has six neutral shadows which have pinks, purples, and I think browns which is perfect since I do love to work with these kinds of shades when it comes to some neutral looks. I find it funny in the description how they said that neutrals aren’t just for fall when I do them all year round and everyone else on YouTube also does neutral looks every part of the year. I can’t wait to use this one and this pallet retails for $29.99.
Il Makiage Inkliner in Black: Another eyeliner came and this is also in my work makeup kit! This is a felt tip liner that is smudge proof and lasts up to fourteen hours. I tend to clean my makeup off after I get home from work but knowing my Pharmacy Green Clean can get this off with no problem. I can’t wait to try this though. This does retail for $21.
Avette Daily Squeeze Mask Duo in Grape & Litchi: Final items are sheet masks which made me happy again this month! As you know I love sheet masks and after last month getting six, this month I got four in both Grape and Litchi! These masks are packed with citrus and coconut water which help nourish and hydrate skin after a long night. I did use one of these after coming home from work when I just got my box and well it did kind of sting but it did calm down as I wore it so I think it’s due to being so new and I have to use these even further to see how I like it. I’m so glad to get these in my GB Plus and will be looking forward to any others coming in my box or choose a few! I can’t find a retail price, hold on! Found them online at their official website and they are $4.00 for two! Nice!

Well guys that is it for this post! I will update on the Murad situation once I get to this product since knowing living in a coastal town I do need SPF but at the same time my skin can go haywire so I will have to see how that goes. I am glad I chose the brushes and I did put my eyeliner with my other pen liners I’ve gotten. I wish I got other colors because I did choose the other ones on my quiz. I will use the masks as always and will see how the shadow pallet goes since I did get the Celestial Thunder Pallet in BoxyCharm but haven’t used it yet. I will see how both go! What’s next? My Glam Bag of course!

The Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm February 2020!

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a subscription!

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance PadsCiate London Every Day Vacay Coconut PowderAlomar Cosmetics Complexion Brush TrioBoxyCharm February 2020!

Oh yes it’s that time again and that is my subscriptions! All three came in this week and was surprised that it did. On Tuesday my Glam Bag Plus and BoxyCharm came in first and then yesterday my Ipsy came in. Never saw that happen until this month this year. I’m not complaining! Anyways, this box is $25 a month and you get five full size products from prestige and luxury brands! I didn’t get a card so I have to go off the website from what I got! Thank you Seeing A. I. for letting me know what was in my box!

Becca Cosmetics Ultimate Cover 24 Hour Foundation: First is another item from Becca and this time it’s the foundation that was on a card a few months ago. If you remembered me mentioning that BoxyCharm gave a quiz on complexion products and asked everyone about their foundation and concealer because they were starting to give out these items this year and depending on your box you either got a card with samples of Pretty Vulgar’s concealer or Becca’s foundation and I got Becca’s foundation card and matched myself to Cashmere. This was also what I picked but decided to do the pick since knowing that they may get it wrong but glad I did get to choose this in my Boxy Choice even though it didn’t give me the shadow pallet from Iconic London but I realized I have so many shadow pallets I need one month off at least and they did it last February too with a break from a shadow pallet. Anyways, I did hear this is a dry skin horror but I want to try and see if this is true since I have dryness issues and see how it goes and how the shade looks on me in full. Plus it claims to be breathable so have to see! This foundation retails for $44!
Alomar Complexion Brush Trio: Next is another product from Alomar and this time its brushes and it’s a face brush trio. I’m happy to get these since I do love brushes and can’t go wrong in having good face ones either. These feel really soft and I can’t wait to try these and see how well my makeup blends as well. These retail for $36!
First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads: Next is something I haven’t gotten in a subscription in a long time and that is from First Aid Beauty. Remember when I first tried them in Ipsy? Well, I got them here through BoxyCharm and its Facial Radiance Pads. These kind of remind me of my Clearasil pads but these work differently. These pads contain the daily amount of lactic and glycolic acids that help smooth and brighten the skin and also tone it even sensitive skin types like me. So far these have been pretty good because I’ve been using them after cleaning off my makeup to help balance my skin again since I do wear makeup to work every day and having something after cleaning it off makes it feel cleaner. I will have to keep using these. I wonder if Ulta carries these because they retail for $17.
Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder: I am so glad I got another powder so I won’t have to run out to buy another! That is one good thing I love about subscriptions I don’t have to worry about re-stocking on products and over stocking on them either so I can just use my backups as time goes on. Anyways, I’m glad that I get to try another item from Ciate London that is face related and this is supposed to smell slightly like coconut and it’s finely milled and doesn’t cause flashback either. I can’t wait to use this since I’m using another powder at the moment. This retails for $22!
Ebio Cleansing Hemp Wipes: Final item is from Evio and they are cleansing wipes. I have to say is these aren’t good for makeup cleaning on the face because they suck! I tried to use these on removing my Lash Princess Waterproof Mascara and had a hard time when they claim to remove any waterproof makeup. I also feel like with the first two wipes they were kind of dry. I am just going to use these to clean my brushes instead of cleaning my makeup off because I think the Pharmacy Green Clean and the Up & Up Wipes just work a lot more than these! $9.50 is their retail price and I would not recommend.

Well guys that is it for this month’s box. I did find it a little meh but I’m actually happy that I get to try an actual foundation as in not a trial size bottle. Also, I get to try a powder from Ciate London which will be great once I get to open it at last. Not only that getting to try brushes from Alomar and another First Aid Beauty item kind of rounded it off. Not too bad of a box and glad to try new things from brands I have tried even in other subscriptions. Can’t wait for March’s box! So guys stay tuned for Glam Bag Plus!

The Convention Comet: Omni Fandom Expo 2020 in Kissimmee, FL

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! It’s time for the first convention of the year!

Omni Fandom Expo 2020
Dates: March 20-22, 2020
Location: Days by Celebration, Kissimmee, FL

Another year has started and you know what that means? Time for another convention season to start and our season starts with Omni Fandom Expo. As you all know we’ve been doing press for these guys since their first year in 2014 and glad to get another!

Location: Change of location this year and it will be at the Days by Wyndham Celebration located in Kissimmee. This hotel is located near Disney and of course a few miles away from Universal if you want to check out the main attractions. The features include free parking, express check out, free breakfast, a work out room, hot tub, and pool and even a restaurant known as Savannah Bar & Grill. The room rate here is $129 a night and I would say reserve as soon as possible because this discount ends on February 27th!

Guests: This year’s guests include Grey Delisle Griffin who is well known for her roles as Mandy from the Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Azula from Avatar: The Last Air Bender, and of course can’t forget Vicky from the Fairly Odd Parents! Returning to Orlando after years of not coming back is Neil Kaplan which makes me happy since it’s been years. You can hear him as Lord Zarkon in Voltron: Legendary Defender! And of course, returning again this year is Mr. Xemnes himself Paul St. Peter! And of course we can’t forget Speak Easy Sirens who has been a Burlesque troop that always been performing every year and bringing on Theoretical Rejects as another troop for this year’s event. And finally, one group that will be doing a performance this year is Shinobi School which is a performance troop from Tampa that specializes in park or, circus acrobatics, and so much more.

Events: One event I’m excited for is Miyazaki Madness which will be performed by Shinobi School and will be taking place that Saturday at noon during the convention. It will take our most beloved Miyazaki characters and have them do many feats and dance moves. If you want the more eighteen plus stuff, Speak Easy Sirens and Theoretical Rejects have Lore Olympus and NetFlix & Chill during that weekend. Please leave your kids at home since these two are eighteen and up only!

That is about it on this year’s event! Can’t wait to see you guys there! Hoping they add more guests in the meantime since we haven’t interviewed Grey yet and glad to see Neil back in Orlando since his last con was around 2009 I believe? So can’t wait to see what he has in store if we get that chance to interview him. And with Paul, we all know his events and can’t wait and see if Pirate Curses makes a return and if you want to learn voice acting I highly recommend his voice acting class panels. We will be buzzing around the convention floor this year and of course having new teammates! Let’s meet them shall we?

Damion Alexander Faelan and Michael Roach: Welcome our new teammates who will be joining us to do photography during the event. If you’re cosplaying, there will be photoshoots being held by these two and Damion does have his own photography business known as Shadow Rayne Photography which we will include a link down below.

And of course, we do have a new camera coming with us for floor interviews so a lot of new things will be with us so stay tuned. And of course, don’t forget our podcast Nerdy Shique Transmissions where I will also be talking about this convention in each episode leading up to the convention itself! Anyone on Breaker? I forgot that you can also listen to it on there too!

What is next? Our start of the RangerStop Panel videos since Damion was also helping us in getting those put together since they were recorded in separate parts. First of the panels is the Magical Source! Mystic Force! Panel! Stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: Ipsy Glam Bag January 2020!

Hello to all my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another subscription!

Ipsy Glam Bag January 2020!

My Ipsy finally arrived, well yesterday but didn’t get the mail until this morning. Heck, I tried sending Gondras to get it. Anyways, New Year means a new Glam Bag year and glad to get this one. This bag is $12 a month and you get samples sizes and sometimes full size items in this bag. You get five of them and a smaller version of the GB Plus Bag. What did I get let’s see!

Add-ons: I only got two add-ons this month and one of them is the Huda Beauty Obsessions Pallet in Sapphire. Since I chose Ruby I decided to pick up the Sapphire one since I do love blues. And yes I know that was a bit of a Pokémon reference right there. I love these shadow pallets since they are so small and compact and you can travel with them if you wanted to and the shadows are also easy to blend. I can’t wait to use this one with any blue themed looks I want to create. The other one is the Balm Alternative Rock 1 Pallet. I got the highlighter from the second pallet, or was it the blush, and purchased the second pallet since I thought I lost it but hey I got the full pallet and enjoyed it. When I saw this among the items for add-ons I decided why not get the first one to complete the set? I think the colors are slightly lighter even the bronzer shade is a warm shade in this one while the other had more smoky type shades even the bronzer was really dark in that one. Let’s see how this one goes!

Defy & Inspire Nail Polish in Pinky Swear: First up is a nail polish. I’m glad I get to try a new polish and this time it’s different from my usual blues because this one is a ballet slipper pink. I don’t mind since there are times when I want to go pink and it does go well with so many outfits. This polish claims to be chip resistant but with my day to day job it’s hard to be not to be since I do type and I do clean the counters time to time. I will have to try this out on a night when I want to give some color to my nails.
Nomad Nomad X Marrakesh Medina Shadow in Henna: Yay! I got another eye shadow in my Glam Bag and this time it’s from Nomad Cosmetics! I have gotten their Berlin Underground pallet in GB Plus and have enjoyed the formula. This brand is inspired by beautiful destinations around the world and this shadow is based on the Henna tattoos that help ward off bad energy. This shade is a deep matte brown and the shadow does glide on very well and super pigmented too. I can’t wait to try this baby out and I do enjoy this brand!
Ofra X Nickie Tutorials Highlighter in Glow Goals: Next is a product from Ofra and it is one of their collaboration items with Nickie Tutorials. I guess everyone has heard that Nickie did come out to be transgender and I am really proud of her and she has inspired so many people for many years for using her power when it comes to makeup. When I saw this as a Choice item I had to get it since I don’t get much Ofra love in my Glam Bag. This shade is a peachy gold which is perfect for me since I started getting into more peach highlighters and these highlighters are really pigmented and made with a cream to powder finish idea. I had gotten some of these as add-ons and still have Blissful in my holiday pallet from Ulta years ago and enjoyed them ever since. Can’t wait to wear this one!
HEMPZ Herbal Body Moisturizer: Next is an item from HEMPZ and it’s their body moisturizer. I am glad to get this because for a while now I’ve been going through major dry patches on my skin that I feel like that they won’t go away. I have been using lotions on that area every night and morning and it won’t work. I hope this item will work since it has hemp seed oil, of course shea butter and ginseng are supposed to help with dry, flaky skin. I hope so! I am really desperate!
Finding Ferdinand Lipstick in Very Berry: Final item is from Finding Ferdinand. It’s been a while since I got product from these guys and have enjoyed them so far. This lipstick gives moisture and also some sheen to go along with it. It also has a nice berry shade to go with it. I have to try this out since of course lips do get really dry due to the winter weather even places where it snows. Here on the coast where we do get colder even around January. Let’s see how it goes.

That is it guys! So far this year has started off pretty well. I can’t wait to see what February has in store for me when it comes to items. What is next? Well, I have mentioned that I’m going through a low buy. I know gasp! But I feel like it is time to say why I’m doing it and how do I feel so far during the first month! Until next time!

The Book Quadrant: The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant #4 by. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with a new book review!

The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Book 4 by. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff!

Disclaimer: This book review is based on the thoughts and opinions of the writer of this blog. Please respect her thoughts and opinions on this ARC that was provided to her by the author and her team. Enjoy!

Last time, we left our heroes with a pile of ashes of Michael’s and Lula’s creator, Clyve, all thanks to Mr. Nice but when Michael turns to Miriam and Nice he finds her gone and he has to look for her. A year has passed and Michael has not found Miriam and still looking for her. After five years of working on the library and working at it, news comes up that Miriam has been married to Nice and after rescuing her she acts totally weird from her usual self. As in not liking books, not caring for her library, and just falling for the frills and lace that Nice wears. Michael tries to get her to snap out of it until she reveals something he doesn’t know that it is crucial to not only save her but something they created.

Thoughts: I feel that this has been the best book so far because it not only pokes even more fun at Twilight but it had a bit of more of a serious tone to it as well. There were a few comedic moments but I did notice that this book took more of a serious road because of what was going on like trying to find Nice and Miriam and how much Miriam was acting once Michael had found her and of course with the truth that came out in this book. Don’t want to reveal that because I was kind of surprised myself even though there was a bit of a tidbit about it in the last one. Also, glad it did not go the way like Stephanie Meyer did with the name relating to it. Read this book and you will know.

I did like another bit that was added to the vampire lore in this book series and that is if a vampire drinks a drug addict’s blood they will take on the same drug affects that the person went through which I got to see Michael going on a trip! It was interesting to see how he saw just teddy bears and rainbows and marshmallows from one drink of that kind of blood. Sounds better than the chocolate as a tranquilizer or liquor to them. Also, Nice was more of an asshole in this one, sorry for the language, but had to be since he did kidnap Miriam at the end of the last book and I feel like the tag line did fit with the description for this book from the last and that was “No More Mr. Nice Guy!” Also, I did like how he took his Fanged Love obsession to the next level since the surprise does lead to that and I kind of felt like with his obsession did bring me back to the Twilight obsession from years ago but this was beyond that. And there was another character I did start liking and hoping she will be in the next and that is Greta.

Greta is a former princess and has a huge crush on Michael even sexually but also owe him a lot over time. I do like how she is in a rock band as part of the many jobs a vampire takes on. I could imagine her as a Jamie Marchi character due to how she has the sarcastic tone to her voice and also the attitude, “Oh! Was I supposed to be at this at this time?” Also her keeping old-fashioned torture devices from the 1500s does seem to make her happy!

Rating: 5 Shooting Star Paws Out of 5! This book has been the best so far because of it picking up where it left off. I did like the interactions between characters, heck even Spicy Bubba in a maid outfit made it better. Not only that we did get to see more of the serious side of this series even with Michael in the end. I would say give these books a good read even with this one. I can’t wait to see how the next one where we get to get the story from Miriam’s point of view will make it even more interesting and I am looking forward to it. Now with all that said and talking about it, I am hearing “A Thousand Years” from New Found Glory in my head due to how it’s on their newest movie songs album.

That is it guys! Will be reviewing more books this year since I have so many to read still. And with the next post it’s a follow-up to a post I made a year and a half ago almost two years relating to a small subscription box. Stay tuned!

Subscription Satelite: BoxyCharm January 2020

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast nerd universe! I am back with another subscription! BoxyCharm January 2020!

A new year a new BoxyCharm has arrived! I was kind of mad last month because they didn’t email me about choosing a product but I was glad I got the one I wanted and will explain in a bit. This box, the base one, is $25. If you’re subscribed you can get one of the other two levels which are Premium and Lux which Premium is $35 and Lux is $49 I believe and Lux is quarterly. I just stick with the base due to how I get the same products as before. Let’s dive right in!

Too Faced Diamond Light Highlighter: First is a product from Too Faced Cosmetics and it’s their Diamond Light Highlighter. This looks like a diamond in a box since the powder is shaped like one. You get one of three colors and the one I got is in Canary Diamond. This product has diamond powder and pearls to give off a pink glow that anyone can see. I hope this is pigmented since there are times where I hear pigmentation can be hit or miss with Too Faced so let’s see what happens. This item values for $36.
Ace Beauty Eye Shadow Pallet in Vintage Sunrise: Next is something I was hoping to choose but got and it’s the Vintage Sunrise pallet from Ace Beauty. I was so mad that BoxyCharm didn’t alert me about Choice for this month’s box which this is what I would choose for myself. I did email them about the issue and they said will fix it no problem and well this month no email but I did go onto their website and chose my February box. Alongside this pallet you could also have chosen the Scarlet Dusk pallet which this is a sequel to that pallet and that has more red shades while this one has more of a sunrise scheme. This features twelve the colors are very well pressed and milled to help with easy pay off. I have heard good things about this brand and how pigmented these shadows are and I also hear they are pretty pricey too so who knows what this pallet will bring. Value is $34.99.
Wonder Beauty Trip for Two Bronzer and Blush Duo: Next is a duo from Wonder Beauty and glad to get this in my box too. It features a blush and a bronzer which you get a variation in shades, not sure what I got, these are supposed to give a slight warmth with the bronzer and a slight and soft blush with the other. These are also made with lotus flower and sea buckthorn seed extract to help with skin benefits. I will be heading for a party this weekend so hoping those claims are true. Retail price is $36 which is pretty hefty of a price.
Advant Skin Care Eighteen Hour Radiant Sleeping Mask: Next is a sleeping face mask from Advant Skin Care. In this box you would get this or the Glow Recipe but got the one from Advant instead. I’m not too mad about it since I was getting one of them anyways. This helps rejuvenate the skin by tightening the skin from wrinkles and fine lines. I do have one line around where my glasses settle and hoping this helps but hoping it does moisturize my face since I do love my skin being soft and smooth by the morning or it can break me out if my skin hates it. Anyways, value is $107! WTF!? That is so expensive that my wallet is crying! So glad I got in the box!
Mana Kadar Lip Whip: Final item is an item from Mana Kadar and it’s a lip gloss. I do enjoy this brand since I have gotten their items through Ipsy for the most part and was surprised to see them appear here. This item is a lightly whipped product with long-lasting staying power. I hope so since there are times when my lip gloss does wear off while eating. Retail price is $21.

Let’s see this box values at $235! Dang! That is a lot for what I get in this box! Basically I can create an entire look with this box since I can wear the mask to sleep with and create a nice eye look, add the highlighter, bronzer, and blush and use the lip gloss on top of it and you’re out the door! I would say it’s a good start for this year since BoxyCharm did vamp up the box to make it that you get more items even bigger items so can’t wait for February’s box! Also, I will leave links to these items so you can see for yourself what they are!

That is it for this post! Next time is a review on a newer Mimi Jean Pamfiloff book while my Glam Bag is on its way!

Subscription Satelite: Ipsy Glam Bag Plus January 2020

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! Time for a subscription!

Glam Bag Plus January 2020!

It’s the first GB Plus of the year and glad to start a new year with this subscription. It came in the same time as BoxyCharm but figured to start off with this one. This is the second tier in Ipsy where you get more high end and full size items at $25 a month and of course you get a bigger makeup bag than the standard. This month’s bag is a marble printed bag and I do love marble print like leopard and if I were to have a house this is the pattern I would have in my kitchen, marble by the way. What did I get for the first bag of the year? Let’s see!

Billion Dollar Brows Best Sellers Kit: First up is a product from Billion Dollar Brows. I did get a fan brush from this brand during a past Glam Bag and glad to get them again and this time it’s a brow kit. Looking at this I am hoping it’s not as drying as the products from Brow Bar as in the pallet thing I got in Boxy last month I felt everything was drying and had to toss it because my brows felt crunchy with the brow gel unfortunately. Even though the fan brush I did try from this brand was good and I hear the brow items are also good. Let’s see what this kit includes! Okay, this kit comes with a universal brow pencil that is also mechanical and is supposed to add shape and definition to the brows. Also get a double-ended brow duo pencil which makes the brows pop with a highlighter and concealer that supposedly lifts the brow and the brush is supposed to smudge and blend everything and the clear brow gel is supposed to set everything. This kit from what it claims is not only good for advanced people but also beginners who are getting into doing their brows. I did feel that the double-ended pencil was kind of creamy so I have to try and see how this goes since it is a full on kit of items. According to the page that mentions this item it says it values for $42. I normally just stick to NYX when it comes to my brow items and a pencil to set things in but this will be fun to try out.
Huda Beauty Ruby Obsessions Shadow Pallet: Next is another item from Huda Beauty. I have been loving this brand and when I saw that they were putting their Obsessions Pallets in again I was excited! I was hoping to get one but great thing was they were available for choice alongside something else I almost went with. As you guys know that these are nine pan pallets and I chose Ruby Obsessions which feature scarlet and raspberry shades in chrome and matte shades. I do have the pallets in Smoky and Mauve and my add on for Glam Bag is one of the other shades because it was so hard to choose out of these and I do like the red shades since I do love the Naked Heat, the Inferno pallet from Eleman, and other fiery shades. I can’t wait to try these shades out! This pallet values for $27.
Duft & Doft Pink Milk Mask Set: I was so excited for this box because I finally get another pair of sheet masks from a brand I never heard of by the way and that is Duft & Doft. This is a brand from Soul, South Korea and it’s also an award winning brand. This sheet mask set is made for winter since it is supposed to hydrate and softens the skin to cause a Dewey glow. These masks contain nyacinamides and ginseng berry and the masks fit every contour of the face. I can’t wait to try these masks out since Korean skin care is very big and this is a new brand for me to try. If you’re a convention goer like me that tends to have skin going crazy due to long volunteer hours or partying the night away, having sheet masks can help re-hydrate the skin. These masks value for $14.98.
Jules Smith Beauty Power Gloss Duo in Namaste All Day and Serene Queen: These glosses were my first choice until I saw the Huda Beauty pallets. Trust me it was tempting to choose these since I do love lip glosses especially for work. So, basically the shade Serene Queen is a pale pink gloss that takes on the color of pink quartz while Namaste All Day is a rosy nude shade that has cocoa undertones that take on the qualities of agate. Vitamins A & E help moisten lips and they take a bit of a shimmer to the lips. I can’t wait to use these since I do enjoy lip gloss. I hope they aren’t as sticky though. Let’s see what happens! These value at $32 full size. Sugar Cosmetics Wingman Eyeliner in I’ll Be Black: Final item is another eyeliner but from Sugar Cosmetics. When I first got back to Ipsy a year ago I did get an eyeliner pencil but this time it’s a liquid pen liner. This eyeliner is good for beginners who are getting into makeup especially eyeliner. This has a felt tip that has a lot of precision and doesn’t smudge. I will hold it to that since for a little while allergies have gotten to my eyes and made them watery so I was probably having some smudging with some liner even with my pen liners. I do use these for work and glad to get another in my box or bag. This values for $15.

What did I finish I bet you’re wondering? I did finish the Evalou serum due to it feeling like not enough product was coming out when I was pumping it. I know there was tons of it in the bottle but it was not coming out when I wanted to so a bit halfway I did toss it because it was ticking me off and it felt a little too dry on my skin. I know serums are supposed to be a great base for moisturizers and that is what I was using before moisturizer and underneath my makeup every day. Sorry, won’t get this again even as an add-on. I also finished the Murad AHA and BHA scrub and oh man that was amazing! I do have another tube of it all thanks to getting the big Ipsy Holiday Haul back in November before heading for RangerStop. I can see why some people like the brand on its own and that it’s great for my skin type but I don’t think I will purchase it due to the price and I already have been using more drugstore stuff since that has helped my skin a lot lately. Glad I got to try it out though!

That is it for this post! I am so excited about this year with GB Plus. So far the first month has not disappointed me at all and how great the products were. I am glad to get a brow kit and hoping this one won’t disappoint as much as the Brow Bar one did. I am also going to be using one of the lip glosses from the gloss duo starting now since I did try it out and it’s not sticky and it’s easy to glide on so will be wearing it out! I’m happy to get sheet masks again because it’s been a while since they show up in any of my boxes and glad that Ipsy finally saw that I enjoy using these especially the ones that hydrate my skin because winter is harsh here on the Florida coast so glad to try a new one out and from another Korean brand. Also, glad to add a new eyeliner to the ones I have for work and the Huda pallet again since I have enjoyed their products so far.

So, what is next? I will be talking about BoxyCharm next! Until next time!

The Book Quadrant: Nemecene Episode 4 by. Kaz LeFave

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with a long awaited book review!

Nemecene: Dreams Flow in Streams by. Kaz LeFave

Disclaimer: This book review is based on thoughts and observations of the lead writer of this blog. Please respect her thoughts on this book which was given to her as an ARC for her to enjoy and review.

In this episode, we find Elise in a newer world where no one can pass through and memories fade and where being guided can lead to being misdirected. Keeto now has to keep his sanity while his sister is being kept in incubation after seeing her murdered in front of him and Stitch and must play a game of Trust-&-Seek in order to save his sister but can he stay strong and sane in order to do that?

Meanwhile the Gadlin Subculture is going through its own crisis where the ocean is in its vision but the planet is changing at a fast rate despite their ways of fixing it. Tufferie, on the other hand, is now selected among the group that has been watching the twins’ progress in the city Aedenborough and must keep the truths behind their veils as she guides her friends to help save Elise’s life and keep Keeto sane to help put the pieces together.

Thoughts: Man that was kind of hard to write the synopsis in my own words since I did remember how the book went at certain points. So, basically this book continues from where Through Fire & Ice but with one twin dead and the other grieving with Stitch. I was surprised when I was going into the book that the reason why Elise went cold was due to what took place at the end of the last and that she is now in an area being brought back to life within nine days if possible.

I did find this book really interesting since the afterlife or purgatory in this world is more of a dream world. As we know that different cultures have different ideas of death and purgatory and I find this new since it shows Elise’s memories even with Keeto, Nithruyu, Stitch, and even going back to a time of their ninth birthday. Okay, the number nine is bigger in this book since we have nine days to get her back, ninth birthday, and still keeping the nine chapters in this idea.

What do I think of Keeto in this book? I find him doing well despite the grief he was going through. Yes, I saw that he was going a bit insane even around Stitch, who had his hair freezing which we can tell he did like Elise more than just a friend and how his attitude just went cold and the ice was also hurting Keeto at times. I was surprised that he let Sparky go through but I understand since he lost his sister who has been his only friend all his life and they are trying to survive in a toxic environment and of course wondering what is going on with Caroline who is also another life line where they are. I also found his journal entries very interesting since he was calling out to his and Elise’s mother and hoped for more responses and what I find more interesting is the tech being used with the transmitters where he has recorded things over time. He even questions more about what he finds and if it is really linked to his mother but at the same time it still loops back to the birthday memory. I feel like the birthday is a big symbol while reading the book. I don’t want to spoil too much since you may want to read this one.

And finally, Tuffurie, I liked how she started in her segments of the story as in working at the café where the twins tend to hang out at and have those Flyer Bakes all the time. I can imagine if this was animated that she has glasses or something to make her more unique to me besides the jewel tone eyes like the others had. I know with the others like her she has been still in the story and I hope they keep her as each episode keeps on being written. I did find it interesting how she interacts with Elise and trying to help her and yet not helping her by saying, “Do this this way but not that way!” And how she makes it sound like it will get her back as each day keeps going. I can’t wait to see if she has more things to do in the next episode since she seem to have more care for Elise like Nepharus had in Episode 2. Will have to see!

Rating: 5 Star Paw Prints Out of 5! This was a really interesting book with how we got to see what purgatory was like and of course getting to see more of Keeto’s mind. I do like how the ninth birthday came into play and that memories can be changed and also time since there was some time traveling that took place but can’t say how. I hope with the next book we get to see more growth with the twins and that Elise and Keeto find that new place after knowing that they can’t stay where they are anymore. I have a feeling they had to leave Aedenborough even though their journey took them to different parts of the world they’re in. With the next one I can’t wait to see how Kaz will make it since new things are popping and now more things are showing with the Gatlins and who knows what secrets may hit and how both of the twins will find out. Still a great series so far!

Nemecene: Dreams Flow In StreamsWell guys that is it for this review! Things are getting serious from what I can read and hoping to read the next episode and review it for you all! Next time will be doing my Glam Bag Plus!

The Book Quadrant: The Girl From Berlin by. Ronald H. Balson

Hello to all of my beautiful nerds and welcome back from traveling the vast universe! I am back with another book review!

The Girl from Berlin by. Ronald H. Balson

Disclaimer: This is a review based on thoughts and opinions from the lead writer on this ARC. Please respect the thoughts of the lead writer of this blog!

Another addition to the Liam Taggart and Katherine Lockhart series where an old friend has called upon services from both Kat and Liam to go to Tuscany in Italy to meet Gabrielle who is losing her vineyard to a corporation who claims they have deeds on the land but she claims she can bring her own set of deeds to show proof that it is her property. Their only clue so far is a manuscript written in German that has been translated for them to read in order to see why it’s related to this case.

Ada Baumgarten was born in 1918 after the First World War and became the daughter of a prestigious violinist of the Berlin Philharmonic and became a prodigy herself. When she meets Kurt, a German boy, she starts falling for him and gets torn from him when he leaves for the military and her family starts being under suspicion due to her Jewish heritage. Even though with her violin and her work which is the only thing that has been saving her so far but with moving to Bologna it gives her family more heart aches and more suspicion and the story of her life brings questions on why is it related to the vineyard in the first place?

Thoughts: Again I read the audio version of this book through the NLS Bard service and it was the same guy that read The Trust as well. I did enjoy how he read this book since he did bring the characters to life with this one as well but this time he did an Italian accent for anyone who is Italian and of course German for any German characters except for Ada and her family and some of her friends. I didn’t mind but I did enjoy it like the book before it.

When I started this book I was wondering why start with Italy since that was the prologue but as the book went on I understood why since it does lead to the secrets Gabrielle has held throughout the book since it dealt with Ada and her back story. It has been revealed that Gabrielle was orphaned in World War II and has shut out her past even about Ada and it brought tragedy and I can see why since the Second World War was big and tragic on its own. When I was listening to Ada’s story I was really entertained about learning what had happened in Berlin since while being in different history classes not much of Berlin has been talked about since we knew what countries were taken over by Hitler such as Poland, Denmark, and many others. It also brought on what took place in Italy since we got to see some of the events with Musilini and of course Rome being a big event where of course Ada meeting Gabrielle at that point. I did like how the characters interact during these moments since they are reacting to the events like how Ada told off a German soldier after one of her concerts, how she and her family were going through the happenings, trust me I almost cried when her father told her to leave him behind at the camp because he didn’t want anyone to take savings that may help her and her mother. It was even sad when her mother left while being at the camp as well when they got to send to one. It was just a great round about tale since it did help us understand why the vineyard had to be saved and I did like how it hinted about Ada having her own patch in the vineyard since earlier in the story when her mother started working among the vines of grapes and olives that she named a part of it after Ada even though Ada found it silly. I can see why it happened since Ada’s mother wanted to leave something special even after the war had ended. It did get revealed a wine was named after a piece that Ada was famous for playing.

What also tugged at my heart strings was how she and Kurt were together. As history happens soldiers do lose their lives and this was a sad part to it. I did find it cute with how Ada and Kurt first met at the Junior Orchestra and how the Baumgartens helped Kurt get to the concert hall for practice but later his violin does get broken and was sent to the junior camps for the military. It was very heart felt whenever both Ada and Kurt were able to have their times together even with one instance when Ada was on a concert trip and she and Kurt were out all night and she had to leave the next day but it did come with some consequences that surprised people. I understand that since I had played clarinet myself in middle school that consequences during class like having people moved due to not being able to have their instruments or some members misbehaving and causing the teacher to yell can happen but back then it was even more strict from what I’ve seen. It was sad with how Ada lost him since I was hoping that they were able to spend the rest of their lives but understanding having someone for that long even if they were on opposite sides can be tragic even seeing how they end up losing their lives in the end. I don’t want to spoil that part because this is something that you got to read yourself.

Rating: 5 Star Paw Prints Out of 5! Out of Ronald’s books I would have to say this one is my most favorite because it was well written even how much the story that Ada told blended in with the present day stuff. It did link to the loose ends that Katherine and Liam had to learn as they have to hire extra lawyers in order to get things settled and solved while the clues were starting to show as they read the manuscript. I think I liked this one more than Karolena’s Twins because I prefer how Ada was spunkier and she didn’t want anyone push her down even if she had to face her consequences later when meeting that soldier later on. It was heart felt and of course I did like seeing what took place in Italy and Berlin during the Second World War and getting to know more of the history as I read on. I am wondering Mr. Balson going to write more for this series because I feel like he has done very well, if he does I am hoping to get to read that one too since I have been reading his stuff on NetGalley since the third book. If not, I am content with how it ended.

Well, that is it guys! I have more books to review and hoping to get more RangerStop content up as soon as possible. Plus, my BoxyCharm is on the way at the moment! So stay tuned!
